- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good stay. Very nice well appointed room. Couple of small points. For breakfast the cooked food was excellent but thought there could be a bit more in the buffet e.g. fruit/pastries. Also our room was right above the out of hours entrance so there can be some noise from people returning late plus deliveries take place right outside the room so we had the pleasure of a noisy beer delivery around 7am. We ate in the restaurant one night and food and service were very good.

Price was more expensive than expected with no breakfast included. I thought £185 for room only was too much. We went next door to Weatherspoons for breakfast instead.

- Zoe (8/5): Our second stay. We were happy to go back - We enjoyed our stay at the Peppermill. It had everything we wanted. The accommodation and food were as good as we remembered from our previous trip. The staff we welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Parking was initially a problem at the Stage Road car park that didn't have functioning coin kiosks and none of the on line payment methods were accepted from a US phone number. Although it was a short stay car park, the Central Car Park worked out best for us. Everything else about the hotel was great.

Hotel perfectly located,charming ,delightfully quirky and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely return next time we are visiting the area.
- Alison (8/5): OK stay - The hotel is quite small inside with steep steps going up to the rooms. Clean and spacious room and the bathroom had a nice bath with shower. The breakfast was overpriced and service slow.
- Zoe (10/5): Nice hotel, would recommend - Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, good food. Extra touches such as nice toiletries and robes plus fresh milk available made all the difference. The only downside was lack of parking. Website said it was available which was technically true but nothing long stay in vicinity. Would stay there again and recommend.
- david (10/5): Business trip - outstanding accommodation - Week stay self and colleague - both impressed with the well furnished and appointed rooms - very high standard but not over the top - fantastic bathroom and great photos on wall. Air conditioning appreciated as was fridge with water. Enjoyed breakfast and an evening meal in restaurant. Car parking a short walk but was fine. Great being in centre with lots to see and home of 6x down the road. Friendly and engaging staff - thank you

- James (10/5): Central location, friendly staff, fab food. - I was greeted warmly by Phillip and given an upgrade without asking. Really comfortable room with nice amenities. The hotel is in the centre of Devizes. Had a delicious meal in their restaurant. Couldn’t fault it!

- Michael (8/5): Would Book Again! - Lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only downsides were off site parking which although is nearby May be a problem for an older couple with large suitcases. Likewise, with no lift and very small narrow staircase then anyone with a larger suitcase would struggle. Was also slightly disappointed that the bar was so small with only 2 small tables available which were both occupied on a number of occasions we checked which meant we were unable to use these facilities. However, we were still very impressed o Teall and would definitely use this hotel again.

Food - dinner and breakfast (not included in overnight stay) were totally worth the hassle free dining in. Some minor tweaks and you can see how this hotel would get 10/10

- Paul (8/5): Great family run business - Delughtful little family run place in the market square. Room was clean and comfortable with quality linen and mattress. We stayed in 7 with the four poster bed. Wife and I were working all day and really enjoyed a well earned and well made Gin and Tonic and a dip in fabulous bath before a tasty, well cooked dinner in the simple restaurant. Comprehensive wine list was well considered without being pretentious and it was reasonably priced. A metaphor for the whole place... comfortable but not fussy or overpriced. Breakfast was good with my wife choosing a vegetarian fry up and myself Eggs Benedict... A long absent treat. The staff were all friendly and really made our stay wonderful. Lauren looked after us so well. His daughter, we were later told by the wine enthusiast patron..with his neice on the team too... good to see a family concern. A real oasis for us in a busy weekend. Would definately visit again (hopefully when we have more time to relax) could recommend to all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): People skills and The Peppermill. - The room and hotel in general were spotlessly clean and the decor and finish were of a very high standard. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast and both meals were of an extremely high quality. However the trip was marred by the access arrangements and owner. On arrival, we ended up being let in via the kitchens by the chef as all other doors were shut. Door bells either didn't work or weren't being answered. We also ended up traipsing through the restaurant with cases on departure as the other doors were shut. All of the serving staff were incredibly polite and helpful and are a credit to the establishment. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with the owner Philip. On check-in, we said we had a room booked to which he replied ‘That’s nice’. Then simply asked our name, handed us a room key and complained about everything happening at once. We asked about parking as we’d had to park in a temporary space up the road. He replied that they had space if we had a horse but if not the car would be okay where it was; as long as we moved it before 9am the following day. Without any clue as to where. Later that night Philip hosted several friends in the restaurant. Despite us sitting nearby and passing him several times, he pretty much blanked us. We didn’t let all this spoil our stay though as the hotel and restaurant are very good but it would be nice to feel a little more welcome. Especially when this was a rebooking from one that was cancelled due to COVID-19.
