Guest Reviews
- Meghan B. (8/5): Great location - The apartment was clean and very small and basic. Lots within walking distance. Good communication and check in was easy. Good value. Not a lot provided, no kettle or coffee maker. Didn't see a garbage can. Nice to have a washing machine.
- Noel (2/5): Never Stay Here, not worth it!!! - Didn’t enjoy any aspect of this place. There’s no check in desk.. don’t fall for their Edgeware Rd desk. We walked there for the actual desk thankfully the weather was not too hot. No one was there. We circled back a few times. We got the key finally. Check in process was a complete fail, they don’t respond to you. Absolutely horrible customer service. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Find a new place to stay, this place is a disgrace and should be condemned!
- Boris (6/5): Fine place, if you don't need any service. - As others have noted, the real downfall of this property is the lack of any discernible service. The listed phone number appears to go to some kind of answering service - whoever picks up the phone doesn't know anything about any of the properties (or even what the properties are), has no access to any of the records, and cannot make any decisions or take any actions regarding the issue. They take down your information and your query, and promise that someone will call you back. We had tried to arrange an early check-in - not only did the blow the promised time, their person was late even for the nominal check-in time. Let alone hotels - the service level was worse than any AirBnB I've ever stayed at.
Condition of the property itself left much to be desired - cracked window on the front door, shattered window on a mid-way stair landing, cracked plaster and paint in several places in the apartment, some of the lights didn't work, filthy, stained carpet on the stairs. The apartment itself is small but reasonably comfortable. Furnishings are sparse but functional. By no stretch of imagination is it luxurious, though nicer than one might expect from how the rest of the building looks.
The neighborhood is a delight. Lots of adorable restaurants, pubs, cafes, and picturesque crooked streets. Daunt Books is wonderful, and Bea's Tea was very pleasant. Easy access to the rest of London via buses and underground, and even not too far of a walk, if that is suitable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No kettle?.. no toaster either which is normally standard.
No wardrobe or any hooks anywhere to hang any clothes up.
Took hour and 15mins from me ringing to say I was half hour away to someone turning up with keys.
Stay in different apartments in London most weeks and wouldn’t recommend this one.
- Michael (2/5): If only. - The cracked glazed front door could be overlooked although did set the scene. The broken window on the half landing needing attention was probably dangerous and I assume just an oversight. No ironing board cover could have been an issue however a spare sheet solved the problem. The saucepan was a useful implement. A kettle would have been a more traditional way to boil water. Equally a hairdryer is often expected. Given the location most people would probably have expected slightly better!
