The immediate area is historic and closed down. It’s a great place to stay after a day of wine tasting and exploring the historical towns nearby.

Outdoor seating with fire pits. Wonderful breakfast buffet from their partner restaurant “Taste” which we highly recommend for dinner. Danielle was helpful & informative with regards to history & things to see/do.

- Karal (10/5): Perfect!!! - Staff is amazing! They are so welcoming and nice. The lobby is filled with fun, wine tasting at night was great. The breakfast is amazing. Beds so comfortable. Also, I left a bracelet, the staff called me to tell me I left it and mailed it to me. That doesn't happen at hotels. I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone!!! We will be back for sure!
- Laurel (10/5): Exceptional - Our Host "Awesome Andrew" was wonderful and could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed to wine tasting on Saturday evening with Turley wines and especially enjoyed to lovely breakfast on Sunday morning with many freshly baked pastries on site and fresh fruit. They even serve Petes coffee! We came with two other couples and enjoyed to fire pits outside with all the goodies to make s'mores at the end of our evening. The beds felt like they had new mattress and were extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay at Rest again in the future.

It was very pet friendly! The room had a dog bed, treats, a water/food bowl and poop bags. It was fun to walk the pooch around tiny Plymouth! Plus a big basket of treats for us-chips, etc.

- Norman (10/5): Our local getaway - We’ve been to Rest a number of times - we love the cozy atmosphere with the fireplace in the lobby. Staff are always friendly. I just celebrated my birthday at Rest and they had a bottle of wine and a balloon waiting for me in the room. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. Love this place.

Room had everything you could possibly need in the way of toiletries, drinks, snacks etc. The happy hour was an excellent opportunity to try some wines whilst chatting to other guests. Shame we were only staying one night!

The service was amazing, hotel is sparkling clean and every amenity is thought of including free snacks, evening wine, breakfast and robes in the room! Beds are comfortable and room size is ample. Andrew especially went above and beyond numerous time for me during my time at Rest Hotel. I highly recommend this lovely hotel! The room was clean and included yummy snacks. I met some of the sweetest people also. The fire pit is cozy. The breakfast included with my stay each morning was incredible with a huge variety! You won't regret staying here.

They provide a wine tasting in the charming lobby and feature local wines. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a basket of complimentary treats. We spent a lovely evening drinking wine and chatting by the fire pit on the patio. Even the other guests were friendly. All around A experience, with a special shout-out to the personable Andrew the Awesome at the front desk.

- Jack (10/5): No better place to stay while sampling Amador County's exceptional wines. - A not-so hidden gem, on the main street of this historic gold rush town, Plymouth (known back then as Pokerville). Only a couple of doors away from an exceptional restaurant, Taste, also managed by the same couple. Nothing to dislike

The breakfast was fresh and high-quality. The property was clean, bright, and offered relaxed indoor seating and very pleasant outdoor patio seating. I would stay there again, absolutely.

- JACK (10/5): Spectacular Hotel in the Foothills - Stayed at Rest due to not being able to get to South Lake Tahoe and the experience was absolutely wonderful. Check-In was easy and the staff was quite friendly and very interested in your absolute comfort throughout our stay. Plenty of complimentary goodies and the breakfast was very good, with homemade pastries. I would absolutely stay at Rest again on my future day trips to the mountains.

- Robert (10/5): Birthday Trip - We had a very comfortable, large, quiet room. Big screen TV with plenty of channels to choose from. There was a wine tasting in the afternoon with tasty appetizers and we had a delicious continental breakfast.

- Norman (10/5): Love staying at Rest - We’ve stayed at Rest 4-5 times and have recommended it to friends. The buffet breakfast in the morning is very good - lots to choose from. And the free wine tasting during happy hour is a nice touch. Fun atmosphere. During the cooler nights, there is a fireplace burning in the lobby (where the happy hour and breakfast is held). Rest owners also own Taste Restaurant next door which is an excellent restaurant.

We had a great visit and wonderful meal at the partner restaurant next door. We loved all the details like complimentary wine hour with local vintners, fresh warm pastry in the morning, warm and gooey cookies in the evening, and s’mores kits for the patio fire pit, if you feel so inclined.

The voices were very loud where we could not sleep. Then in the middle of the night the air conditioner began leaking. So for the price if the room we were not pleased

Our night in plymouth was part of a longer trip and we were planning to see friends from that area we hadn't seen since precovid. In my research I heard about an affiliated restaurant Taste. I called weeks in advance for reservations, figuring my perfectly behaved dog could hang in the room

The room was spacious, but the AC had issues all night long and the sheets were as scratchy as the low grade tissue and toilet paper - yikes! The mattress was very comfortable though! We will definitely stay here again but hope that the sheets are a bit softer and the AC works (especially during the summer!)

Very friendly staff with evening pours of local wines and snacks from sister restaurant, Taste. Rooms are modern and clean with nice free amenities and snacks. TVs even have Roku service. If your in this area wine-tasting, this is the place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Glad We Stayed - We arrived in the evening to the end of their "happy hour." We had a glass of wine and some yummy appetizers and there were cookies out to nibble on. Dinner was right next door for those who chose to go out. We were on the first floor near the lobby and it was pretty quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious enough for the two of us and all of our "stuff". We were treated to a "Kurig" machine for our daily coffee which was nice. Breakfast had a wide range of choices, with some healthy ones to choose from too. We even watched one of the staff members cutting up fresh fruit! The staff is very friendly and helpful and seem to take a lot of pride in their place. The location is near many wineries, but not much else to do in walking distance.
