• Melanie (3/5): Spend a little more and stay ANYWHERE else. - A short walk to the impressive Coogee beach and plenty of shops and restaurants close by. The photos that represent the property on your website are very INACCURATE. It is not mentioned that there is NO aircon- the mattress had springs poking through that the ancient and over worn foam topper could not hide. The pillows were that were so old and flat I really did not want to see what they were like underneath the old and over worn pillowcases - I really think to offer up this sort of crap and then have the audacity to request we strip the beds on check out is a bit much. Everything in the bathrooms was old, broken and leaking with the floor being continuously wet without any sort of matting to counter it. The towels we were given were that thin you could see through them.

• Nuria (8/5): Mucho mejor de lo esperado - La habitación era cómoda y limpia. Todo el hostal estaba limpio, el problema era que la gente al cocinar no limpiaba, pero los responsables del hostal iban detrás limpiando, por lo tanto es culpa de los huéspedes. El ambiente era de gente joven backpacker y gente tranquila. Durante las noches era muy silencioso, no se escuchaba gente haciendo fiesta ni nada. Y estábamos al lado del salon. El precio es el mas bajo de la zona y esta justo frente al mar y al lado de cafes y supermercados. La zona de 10. El personal es super amable y atento. Todo el hostal en general esta muy bien. No entendemos muy bien los malos comentarios (estuvimos en habitación doble privada) Que las zonas comunes son muy pequeñas. Solo hay una placa de fuegos y para cocinar siempre esta en uso y tienes que esperar. Tampoco hay una zona para comer cómodamente, solo como una barra con taburetes y no se puede comer en las habitaciones, por lo tanto es muy incomodo. Luego la zona común es una habitación muy pequeña con unos sofas pero que esta siempre lleno de gente.

• Myeongseok (Michael) (1/5): - Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. We had to sleep in the car overnight due to the conditions. The room had cockroaches throughout. Despite hot weather, the fan was not working, and the small portable fan in the room had no batteries. The windows were extremely dirty, so there was no airflow. The fridge was also not working. The shared bathroom was horrible — there were cockroaches, broken toilet seats, and the floor was extremely dirty. There was no staff member available at night. Although instructions said to “press this button” to contact night staff, no one responded. So, we ended up sleeping in the car overnight. We spoke to a staff member in the morning, who said he would speak to the manager and that there was no need to email. However, we never received a call or response. We later sent multiple emails and made several calls, with no reply. Very disappointing experience. Please don’t put yourself in the same situation.

So much light coming into the room from the street and multiple other people staying there having phone calls directly outside the room window.

• Florina (8/5): Hostel with a very good price in a very nice place - The location from Coogee Podbed is absolutely amazing! Foodstore, coffee shops and some good take away are right in front of the Hostel. The Busstation for the city center and the airport is near by. The hostel kitchen is small but good equipped and has big fridge. There are many toilets and shower. Our room was small but tidy and we had even a shelve and a desk where we could put our stuff. There were a lot of young guest and sometimes the toilets look just gross and in my opinion they needs way more cleaning attention from the staff. Nobody wants to sit in the morning in pee from es stranger.

• taiyo (1/5): Worst one ever across the world - Receptionist was nice but other was horrendous I never write a negative review but this one deserves it. Staff spills chemical and it was unbearable and I booked another hotel. I waited an hour to be reasonable before judging if I could stay or not but smell was horrible like my nostril hurt. The staff also agreed it smelt terrible. There was no window either so smell just stayed there. Ended up not staying there and booked another hotel which was worth every penny. I respectfully asked for a refund but the declined by saying “it’s not toxic”. So disrespectful- it was their mistake but they’re so greedy to keep money for service they failed to provide. I’d give a zero out of five.
• Poppy (2/5): Not worth the price we paid - RATS - Good location and pod beds give some privacy and decent lockers for your bags There were lots of rats at night in the garden where the bins were kept and some went in the kitchen. We visited in January and it was stifling hot in the pods almost unbearable. The toilets never felt clean with no hand soap in the ladies bathroom. Kitchen was too small and mostly unclean with one sink out of order. The fridge was flooded on the bottom shelf as well.

• ana (1/5): Never again - Nothing There was no electricity in my PodBed; I couldn’t charge my phone, turn on the TV, or even use the lights. To make matters worse, bed 17.2 was broken in half. You can clearly feel the gap in the middle of the bed. Additionally, the sheets had clearly not been changed. They were full of hair and sand, which is completely unacceptable.

A lot of people staying long term and the rooms are very messy.

• Luana (1/5): - My experience at this hostel was very disappointing. The room did not match the photos at all. The bed was rusty, there was no TV as advertised, and the room was very dirty. The fan and the windows were also extremely dirty, and the hostel itself did not seem well maintained, giving the impression of being abandoned. The conditions were so poor that I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep there. I had to look for another place to stay, which caused a lot of stress and inconvenience. I also asked about the possibility of a refund or at least a partial refund of the amount I paid ($350). When I arrived, they asked for my card details “in case something was broken” and charged a $50 fee. I wasn’t given the option to tap or insert my card — I had to show the card details, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience, especially because it was my first time visiting Sydney and I had high expectations.
