- Rita (7/5): over all we had a lovey time at the Step house - the food was amazing we had breakfast each morning and diner one night as we had other plans the rest of our stay . We received a bottle of bubbly from the owner as we sat by the bar . A very kind gesture. The fire in the lobby was very homely and welcoming atmosphere . location was amazing we travel by car to a few different villages scenery outstanding We found the rooms to be dated and beds not very comfortable . there was quiet a bit of noise the first night from other guest which went on until early hours
- Richard (10/5): - Away from the tourist locations in a more traditional village. The restaurant was tremendous.
- Anne (10/5): Location worked for us. Parking provided at no extra cost room was very spacious and shower was excellent. Ate dinner in - It was a hidden gem in a beautiful town away from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns Nothing to make mention of
- carl (6/5): Curates Egg - Good in Parts - Room was “tired & dated “, Ni WiFi worked in it. Bed head board loose and kept rattling, bed much too soft - didn’t get much sleep , kept waking due to uncomfortable/super soft bed Staff were excellent - as was food ( top notch )
- Eleonora (8/5): Very cosy staying. - The room was elegant with a beautiful big balcony on a stunning view. The entire hotel was cute and with cosy vibes. Bed and pillows super comfortable and huge bathroom with bath and shower. Unfortunately, I found several hairs on the shower towel, I don't think it was because they didn't wash it because it smelled good and looked clean, it looked like they didn't check better for the hair that can be stuck in the dryer.
- Laura (9/5): -
- heather (6/5): - there was a leak whilst we were there. this set off the fire alarms at 5am which interrupted a nights sleep and there was no water for showers in the morning. despite all this there was no offer of a refund which would have been appropriate.
- Alan Carroll (10/5): Excellent mid-week stay - Lovely ambience, high standard of decor and facilities, good service, excellent breakfast, free parking, very good dinner. Nothing, one-night stay, everything perfect.
- Damien (9/5): -

- orla (8/5): -
- Bean (10/5): -
- carlottapell (6/5): Hotel solo per dormire. - Pulito. Staff gentile No colazione
- Alexandre Faucon (10/5): - La qualité des chambres, le restaurant est excellent.
- Carol (8/5): Getaway - It was quiet Service was slow in the bar for food. 2pm was our dinner reservation and came out at 4:05pm for a three course meal. Then they tried to charge us for three people.
- Mairéad (9/5): -
- Roma (10/5): -
- David (10/5): THE ENTIRE STAY AT THIS HOTEL WAS ABOVE EXPECTATIONS - THE ROOM WAS LARGER THAN WE RESERVED, SO IT WAS A WONDERFUL SURPRISE FOR US.
THE HUGE BATHROOM WITH SHOWER AND BATH WAS ALSO A SURPRISE. WE DID NOT BOOK DINNER IN ADVANCE, BUT CHANGED OUR MIND AND WE WERE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE FOOD AND THE NEXT MORNING WITH BREAKFAST.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET EVENING SITTING BY THE OPEN FIREPLACE WITH BIRCH LOG BURNING.
- isabelle (10/5): Vive recommandation ! - Tout : l’accueil, la chambre, la propreté et les repas.
- annk (6/5): - The gardens are beautiful, and the hotel has great size bedrooms, and lovely views from the upper floors, the staff are lovely, Sarah at the front desk is an asset to this hotel, she was so friendly and very helpful, made us so welcome and helped with our rooms. Also the owner James is a lovely man, and came and sat with us a few times and we had many chats, he looks very like the actor Peter Otool, which we told him many times, a very good hotel boss from what I seen, and treated all his customers the same. Our base on our bed was broken, we didn't realise until we pulled back the quilt and tried to sleep, I kept rolling out of the bed, and when we rang reception after midnight, we had no one to help or take the call, so this was a disaster, as we got no sleep, the hotel did give us a new room straight away the next day with complimentary meal and and half our money back. I honestly love the rooms, but the beds and pillows are not comfortable, we had no information in the rooms, and I was disappointed no coffee maker, a bit surprising for a 4 star, the hotel itself is stunning, beautiful gardens and set in a tidy little village, but just abit to rural for us, I thought it was closer to kilkenny, but saying that, I would recommend it for a wee break away, but just update the beds for a little more comfort, maybe some day I will return.
- Alan (9/5): Couples break - Friendly staff, lovely food . Room was hot

- Rachel (9/5): A little gem - Lovely room. Great garden. Friendly staff. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Will be back Can't think of anything
- Butler (10/5): Loved this place - The homeliness, the beautiful gardens
The dinner, the breakfast, the staff. Nothing
- Breda (9/5): -
- O Connor (10/5): Highly recommend a visit to the Step House Hotel, it is beautiful - Loved our stay, the food is beautiful and rooms are gorgeous.
The river Barrow is prachtig. Het Cellar restaurant voegde weinig toe.
