- Andrew (9/5): - Location, clean, quiet
- George (9/5): - Location and owners Elizabeth and Martin were fantastic hosts. Absolutely nothing.
- Karen (9/5): Lovely village, a little hidden gem, easy access to the New forest and surrounding areas, beautiful room and a great hea - Great location for the New Forest Comfortable and friendly, homely
- Franco (10/5): - Parking right in front of property. Easy walk to quaint village centre with shops, cafes, restaurants and great pub.
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): A superb experience all round - thank you Martin and Liz. - I couldn’t find fault with anything I experienced during my entire stay and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. If I should have cause to return to Hythe in the future, I would not hesitate to stay at Martin and Liz’s delightful guest house again. Nothing!
- Rory (9/5): Superb - Incredible little B&B, perfect for what I needed.
Great location for my STCW course that was a 5 minute walk down the road.
Very welcoming hosts and very close to the town.
Great breakfast selection. Quality and quantity of breakfast could be improved.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Elizabeth was so helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and really helped Ona couple of things during a rather stressful few days away working. I only managed to make the breakfast once but was great. Thank you and would definitely stay again.
- Gina (10/5): A positively memorable stay at The Maples - Perfect stay at The Maples. So comfortable I booked an extra night.
Thank you Elizabeth and Martin for being great hosts!
Would highly recommend. No negatives.
- Steve (8/5): If you like the location in this unpretentious little town - and I did - this is pleasant good value - Breakfast was good. Location for what I wanted was excellent because I definitely wanted to be in Hythe, which is in general quite well provided for with cafés, restaurants and a couple of good bars. I have no hesitation in recommending it. There was nothing I didn't like. Although The Maples is in the category of places that could theoretically be better, they have made good use of the building they have to a high standard of work. The price reflects that standard and the shortage of B&Bs in the Waterside area.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Centrally located, The Maples is a great place to stay. Lovely clean and well equipped rooms with a Hearty breakfast to start the day. Friendly hosts who made me most welcome. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Nothing,
- Eoghan (10/5): 10/10 would recommend to anyone. - Room and breakfast were great. Perfect for anyone doing a course for Fire Aid, only a 10 minute walk to facitly. Less then 5 mins to the centre of hythe where you can find everything you need i.e. grocery store, pubs and restaurants. Well looked after by owners. The area had a water outage and the owners went out and got everyone water bottles so they could stay hydrated. Couldn’t say a bad thing about the location and the property. N/A
- Edward (9/5): Excellent will stay again - Central location in Hythe. Excellent breakfast.
Friendly and helpful hosts Can’t think of anything that could have made our stay better. Limited parking at hotel when busy, but public parking nearby
- Anne (8/5): A return visit 100% planned for the future. - Location

- Doggus (8/5): Very good -

- Ben (8/5): Lovely little spot for a stay in the new forest. - Did not stay for breakfast due to early start at work however they kindly made me sandwiches to take with me to make up for it. A lovely touch.
Rooms were clean, comfortable. Private bathroom clean, shower hot and good pressure. Lovely little stop off. Nothing really in Hythe but this does not reflect on the property.
- Timothy (10/5): Absolutely Love The Maples - At the recommendation of a local, I stayed at The Maples for a couple of nights. The owners of the B&B were attentive and extremely friendly. The room was quiet and offered a lovely view of the nearby Anglican Church. The windows opened to allow fresh air too.
Breakfast each morning was amazing. Delicious and right-sized portions to satiate the appetite. Everything was perfectly cooked.
- Mike (9/5): Superb -
- Debnam (9/5): Superb - Hosts were very, Breakfast was very good, room was very clean and the facilities in my opinion were good. Parking was a bit tight but ok.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Nice people who run the place. Clean and comfortable. In a great location. No complaints.
- Lakesclaire (5/5): Great location and breakfasts - disappointing room, bed and ensuite. Very pleasant hosts. - Excellent breakfasts - can't fault them.
Very well located for training with Fire Aid which is a very easy walk from the accommodation
Opposite Lidl which is very convenient.
Short walk in the other direction to Hythe centre Room - small and cramped
Ensuite - poor shower with intermittent pressure so the shower would keep turning off. Ensuite was very tired.
Boiler wasn't working on the last day/night - so no mains hot water or heating - just an electric oil radiator.
My main complaint was that my room wasn't serviced after my first night's stay - apparently I hadn't been there long enough - go figure on that one, I was paying £76 per night.
- Philip (8/5): Perfect for our house hunting base. - Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Room was very cramped.
- Cathleen (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed at The Maples whilst doing my STCW training at Fire Aid and had a really lovely stay. They were so kind and friendly, room was super clean and cosy and the area was really nice. N/A

- April (10/5): We were there for a funeral. Elizabeth and Martin were kindness itself and made a sad trip so much easier. - A wonderfully warm welcome, cosy bedroom, comfortable bed, plenty of tea and coffee in the room, homemade cookies, delicious breakfast, so much attention to detail.

- Mohammed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - Food was great staff were fab
- Katherine (5/5): Disappointing - Good location for Beaulieu but shame right opposite Lidl carpark!! Whole place looked tired and in need of an update! Room very very small

- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was, of course, disappointed not to have en suite facilities but I booked late and knew the situation. My room was small but exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. The staff could not have been more accommodating and made me feel very comfortable.
- Nigel (10/5): Good Value and excellent service - A warm and friendly welcome from when I first arrived, with a clean and comfortable room. Use of a fridge was a good touch. I had an on-suite room which worked out well. Breakfast was good, and served on a hot plate (the little things make an impression). Will definitely book there again when staying in the area.
Parking can be an issue due to the restricted amount of space available. However, the owners were very helpful with offering alternative options when needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely Hotel Elizabeth and Martin were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. After reading the reviews we decided to book this hotel, the breakfast was every bit as good as the reviews said it was fantastic. We shall certainly be booking 'The Maples' again the next time we stay in Southampton. The room was lovely and clean and comfortable, even handmade cookies with the recipe which was a lovely touch. The Victorian Ferry is a few minutes walk from the hotel. Thanks Elizabeth and Martin for all your help, to get the most out of our short stay.
- Ron (8/5): - it was a last minute, very last minute booking due to mistake by me. I was just glad to get a hotel in the Hythe ( Southampton) area. It was a small single room very clean and tidy but with shared facilities which I am not a great advocate of. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Due to the shared facilities issue I would not use the hotel again. This was my main issue everything else was fine
- Invictabob (10/5): Excellent hotel - A good place to stay with easy access to the New Forest
- Robert (10/5): Welcoming and friendly B&B in Blythe - We had a lovely stay at the Maples during our visit to Hythe.
We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and nothing seemed like too much bother. The Hotel is in a beautiful location and very close to local amenities.
It proved to be a great base for our visits within the local area.
The breakfast selection and quality of produce used is excellent. The hotel is very clean and the room was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Lovely home made cookies were in our room which was a very nice touch
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and homely hotel. - Greeted by Elizabeth who was very friendly and happy to show me where everything was. The hotel is situated 2 minutes was from the sea front and the village centre. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with facilities.
The Full English Breakfast was very nice and plentiful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Really comfortable guest house. Lots to do including train ride along pier and boat to Southampton.
- Timothy (10/5): Simply love this place - Love the Maples. My favourite B&B in the area. Martin and Liz make you feel welcome and everything they do makes it for a really pleasant stay. Breakfast is amazing. Suits all tastes. Beds are comfy and rooms have lots of little touches to make your stay more pleasant.
- Royston (6/5): - Offer great service and very proactive. Booked through Hotels.com. But beware of cancellation near the date of booking! Payment system by hotels.com puts a hold on your room therefore owners of The Maples cannot fill this room. As a result I lost my refund. Yes I would book with them still in future.
- Caroline (10/5): Excellent. - Very nice and friendly, would definitely stay again.
- Julie (10/5): - excellent stay in a beautiful area. so much nicer than anticpated with a 2 minute walk to the ferry
- Robert (10/5): Good value for money. - Attention to detail with the facilities, friendly service and good breakfast at a reasonable price.
- Liam (10/5): Perfect - Not a bad word to say about The Maples.
Lovely hosts. Well priced. Amazing breakfast. Extremely comfy beds.
Would definitely be my first choice if I'm ever down Southampton/Hythe again.
(Also perfect for CTC dibden manor. Taxi fare is around £5).
- Dawn (10/5): Could have taken the bed home home - Wonderful hosts, lovely room in fact the bed was so comfortable I wish I could have taken it home with us .The breakfast was good plenty of choice and cooked fresh .I would recommend to anyone and we would be happy to stay there again
