- Mohammed (8/5): Affordable great accommodation in umhlanga - Location was good. Access to property was easy. Friendly staff right fron the security to cleaning staff. Apartment was kept clean. Cupboard space was taken up by cleaning stuff, geyser and solar system. Towels were not changed regularly.

- Deborah (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - We have stayed in many different units in Umhlanga. 14 The Shades is our favourite. It is tastefully decorated, quiet and in the perfect location.
- Patel (8/5): It was clean, cozy and convenient. My every query was dealt with quickly by the hosts. - The extra fast wifi was definitely a perk enjoyed by us younger ones. A bit of noise during our visit but quickly resolved

They provided daily housekeeping, and the helper was friendly and kind.We loved the air-conditioning, clean, and modern apartment.Thank you for having us.We most definitely will be back soon.Love Vee & Johnny 🇦🇺

- Sharon (9/5): Superb - Everything is within walking distance, places we wanted to go to was just a few minutes away, it's really safe,comfortable and absolutely stunning. The rules for me was just too much I kept on checking if we are not violating any of them just so I could get my deposit back that at times I couldn't enjoy my stay because I was forever worried.

- Solly (6/5): A weekend at The Shades - The apartment is very beautiful and very clean just next to the braai area,unfortunately we didn't meet house keepers as we're leaving before they arrived and came back qhen they left already but we always found the place spotless they did a great job,other security guards were very friendly except 1 who was on night shift.The swimming pool is crystal blue What I didn't like is more of an external factor nothing to do with the host per se, while braaing were playing music very very soft a person 150m away wouldn't hear but the security guard came with a very negative attitude told us to reduce the volume and reducing below meant switching it off so we we did switch the music off thinking we outside maybe it's disrupting to neighbors yet he just came into his shift the security who just knocked off didn't have any issues he then came again later as we were chilling in the apartment he came and told us we making noise that was a fair request from him but the problem is the way he talked to us like we were his kids his attitude stinks I swear he has anger issues he was so angry we thought there must be something we did because there's no way the noise we made could make a person that angry,most times guests at some point must be reminded of the rules but politely so there was no need for him to shout at us and threaten us with eviction etc just because we laughed a lil louder but other than the place is nice and quite suitable for couple or family but definitely not group of friends.

- Mario (10/5): When I come to Durban again, the one place am going to stay will be at 14 The Shades, Hermann always replied to my commu - This property was exactly how it appears online, but even more beautiful once your there! Everything, this was exceptional! The cleaner was there everyday and she even offered to iron our clothes, which we kindly rewarded her at the end of the two weeks.
