Breakfast was good but the hot food was not labeled so, as a vegetarian, it was difficult to determine what contained meat and I did not find anyone i could ask. Then again, no one said being a vegetarian in cattle country is easy, and I had ample to eat, including some excellent oatmeal. The lighting in the room was not good. Just two wall sconce type lights on either side of the bed. There was a table and chair but no lamp.and since the room was large, it felt a little gloomy/dark.
• Jennie (10/5): High integrity and a sublime breakfast! - I had such a great experience at Kansas Country Inn, and I can’t recommend it enough. Check in was incredibly easy, and they were kind enough to accommodate an early check in, which made a huge difference after a long travel day. The whole process felt smooth, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. The breakfast completely blew me away. This is not your standard hotel setup. The home cooked meal was amazing. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I’ve had, and the egg casserole was just as good. You can really tell they put care into it. What truly stood out though was their honesty and kindness. I accidentally left my work camera behind, and the team went above and beyond to make sure it is safely returned to me. Manager Elaine, along with Crystal and Melody, all played a part in helping coordinate everything. They kept me informed, handled the process with care, and made what could have been a stressful situation feel completely taken care of. It’s rare to come across people who go out of their way like this. Their integrity and level of service meant a lot to me. If you’re passing through, this is absolutely the place to stay.

• Faith (9/5): Breath of fresh air - Hospitality is not lost! - The room was so clean, and so well decorated! Nice little touches throughout that you just don't find in regular hotels anymore. I typically stray away from hotels with exterior doors, but I was so happy with this one! It had three locks, so I felt very safe. It was such a great feeling of home away from home! Even little hershey kisses with a note of welcome. Again, you just don't find that kind of hopspitality and comfort anymore. While the staff was very nice and friendly, the guy at the front desk during check in was wearing a t-shirt with holes in it, it felt a little unprofessional and made me second guess staying there. Having said that, he was very helpful and friendly.

• BoardingPass689322 (10/5): A Very Pleasant Surprise - We were dead tired at the end of a long day but our motel of choice was totally booked with a big wedding party. It was suggested that we try Kansas Country Inn. What a pleasant surprise. Clean with plenty of room. Best of all was the home-cooked breakfast tier home-baked muffins. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We will stay here next time we go through Oakley.........but not by accident.........by plan.

• Kathryn (5/5): - The breakfast was good and better than many continental breakfasts you get at other places. The most obvious dislike was the feed lot smell that permeated into the room. I realize this isn’t the fault of the motel, but it wasn’t expected or noted in write ups about the hotel. The bathroom was small and maybe what could have helped was to have nice smelling soap(?) Good soap and shampoo would go a long way.
• Danna (9/5): Convenient and clean hotel with friendly and accomodating staff that made our stay refreshing. - Easy to find as it was right off the highway. The breakfast was hot, plentiful, and delicious - they had enough variety to satisfy my sweet tooth and my husband's savory protein requirements! The room was spacious and clean. They were quick to respond to my request against certain air fresheners that my husband is allergic to. Very accommodating, would recommend! There were a few minor maintenance matters, but nothing of great concern.

• Amy (8/5): Recommend Staying at this Hotel! - This hotel was easy to get to. We arrived late at night, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated, but it was clean. They also allowed our dog. The breakfast was the best I have ever seen at a hotel. Great variety of foods and they tasted like what mom used to make! No complaints from us! It was a great place. I would stay there again.

• 932rochellew (10/5): Diamond in the Rough - Absolutely a total little gem on the Kansas plains. Friendly staff. Pet friendly with an extremely reasonable pet fee (unlike many places). Clean rooms that are decorated to provide a comfortable homey feel. Wonderful breakfast spread including homemade items—breakfast casserole, homemade rolls, biscuits and sausage gravy WITH actual sausage, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs…you get the picture. Located conveniently off I 70. (Also, One review claimed no WiFi. That is not true. The password was listed in information on the desk. We had excellent service the entire time).

I got a very welcoming feel to the stay. the choice of TV channels was adequate, but it was not the multitude of options in today's normal. (it was no issue for us but I can see it being one with kids along).

Our room was clean, had a microwave, small fridge and a coffee pot along with chocolates by the bed. The breakfast in the morning included a make your own waffle station, homemade biscuits and gravy, egg casserole, freshly made oatmeal, juice and coffee. The woman who managed the breakfast room was friendly to everyone. The traffic noise was loud, but to be expected because of the motel's location near a busy intersection. I am gluten free and would have appreciated more choices for breakfast in the way of bread or fresh fruit.
• 461duaneh (2/5): Don't waste money on this place - I booked this hotel based on posted reviews, which give a very high rating. I was very dissatisfied with my stay, to put it mildly. If it was possible, I'd rate it not as a 1, but as a negative number. My observations: Starting with the bath area: Shower area was so dimly lit as to be hazardous. Light level wasn't much better than you'd get with a nightlight. I think the shower did not appear to be clean, but couldn't tell for sure because of the dim lighting. Lavatory counter is tiny; impossible to get much more than two toothbrushes on it. Beds were lumpy and broken down. Room not very clean. Breakfast selection was skimpy, coffee was weak. Eggs were so salty we couldn't eat them. Sorry, I have nothing positive to relate concerning this facility.

• Mike (10/5): Like Mary Poppins, "Practically Perfect in Every Way." - The breakfast was beyond expectations! Home made goodness. Plenty of food. Fresh biscuits, too, it seemed, with hot gravy! Fruit juices. Coffee. Fruit. Milk. Tea. Egg casserole. Toast and breads. Fresh morning cake. Family home atmosphere. Uber clean facilities. Even a rag to wipe off your vehicle's windows in the morning. Dog treats. Human treats. Quilts, kitchy knick-knacks, American artifacts, rocking chairs; this is your grandparent's home on the weekends. It's THAT good! And everyone there very American. Yes! To our chagrin, we took a key home with us and had to return it by mail due to our rush to get back from a 4 week vacation in the desert! That we didn't like and felt very stupid one hundred miles away on our return home. Otherwise, everything was perfect at this homey hotel a few miles off the freeway! Highly recommended! Pet friendly and we don't have pets but saw others with dogs and dog treats were at the front counter, for pete's sake!

We have dogs and it isn't always easy to find a place that will allow them to stay with you. We would recommend this place and we will continue to stay here.

• KEVIN (8/5): - From the outside, an old roadside motel. On the inside a warm and comfortable environment. My room had a very comfortable overstuffed loveseat and really wonderful bed with a quilt that was homemade. The room was updated and well-cared for. You'll enjoy a good night's rest here.

Could hear music and tv blaring all night and morning from the room above. I know it’s not the property’s fault but the surrounding area has an industrial cow farm. And when I arrived the smell of manure was so strong I didn’t even want to go get something from my car. The door gap was also pretty wide so the smell seeped into the room. By morning it subsided. Nice staff and generally clean rooms. But I would pass on here and the area in general.
