- Brenden (5/5): It wasn't what I expected, but it got the job done. - I think the hotel is situated in a beautiful place by the water. It's very scenic, rustic and quaint. I think the area is very calm and relaxing. The hotel in reality was completely different in comparison to the photos as advertised online. The building needs updating. It is obvious that the building is rather aged and hasn't had even the most remedial upgrades in quite a few years. I noticed the door to the room door was uneven; you could see a gap between the door and the doorframe that wasn't a symmetrical size. I didn't know if there was a space for breakfast, but it didn't appear to be very big or inviting judging from the look of the lobby space. We had a room that promised a waterfront view- but that was only partially true. Overall, it just seemed to lack a vibrance that the pictures implied to be there.

A lot of things broken on the room including the tv window shade and lamp. Hallways were cold and front desk didn’t answer their phone. The whole place needs to be completely renovated.

- Edward (2/5): - Building is very dirty and lack of upkeep. They are just bleeding- overcharging customers for a one star hotel. Motel 6 or Motel 8 should buy 3 acres next to it and give them some competition.
- Marielle (8/5): - The room and hotel were clean, however, there could be some updates within the room and the hotel. Our bathroom and room had no where to hang our towels. It looked like there was a towel hook on the door at one point, but just two holes in the door. Some stains on the carpets within the rooms and hallways, but overall the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The balcony was nice to be able to get fresh are, but also could be updated or a chair out on the deck.

- Charleen (2/5): - The location so close to the beach is great but had a horrible experience at the hotel. They cancelled my reservation 1 hour after I "checked in" early and told me to come back and get my key in "an hour or two", as I was walking back to get my key I received an email from the hotel telling me they "had overbooked the hotel" and didn't have a room for me. Unfortunate as I was in a road race the next morning and the rest of the town was likewise booked up! A mess---their conciliatory offer was a substandard room with "no shade" and "a broken air conditioner" (they forgot to mention it also had no screen so opening the window was a little dicey). Needlesss to say, I cooked overnight, slept poorly due to traffic noise with the open window, ran the race and ditched the hotel the next morning. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

- Frank P (4/5): Find another alternative - Arrived on a Friday. Lobby was decent, apeared like it was recently refreshed. Up the elevator, it was gross with liquid drips down the walls. Up to the room. The smell of fabuloso permiating the air. The walls are all marked up from people hitting the wall. Into the room and the rug was dated, stained and a few burn marks next to the slider door. Bed made perfectly and clean. A better start. Can't close the bathroom door at alll. Like it won't fit. Door frames gross and could use pain or even a wipe. The towel rack falling off the wall. The bathroom was adequate and maybe had a refresh 5 years ago. Tv small but adequate too. Never got room service and had to go to lobby desk to ask for more towels. Was told to put the sign in the door for service. There were no signs on any doors. Rusty old a/c that was loud and cycling constant. Great location but spent more on the sign and not in rooms.

I would agree with you if it was a busy time of the year. That being said i was celebrating 49 years of marriage with my best friend. It would of been nice to up grade us .That would of been points for the for the prosperty. Please fix the jacuzzi we paid to use it and it was broke. Was told by employ that it was to much to fix it. Sorry very disappointed.
- Marisa (2/5): - I would not recommend staying here. The reviews are true- the first room we were given was dirty with used soap and towels in the bathroom. Stains on the furniture. Smoke detector hanging out of the ceiling. The second room smelled incredibly strongly like cleaning solution, I wanted to open the windows but there are no screens. The staff at the front desk messed up our key fobs 5 times so we had to keep going up and down the elevator to ask them to let us in. We only stayed one night, we were supposed to stay two nights. It’s disappointing because the location is great. But the owner clearly does not care about the property.

- 396pirateg (4/5): Location, but needs some serious work. - Very convenient location. Room was clean, but needed to have a dehumidifier running. The rug was dampish, and there was a strong mildew odor. Unless you put a sign out to clean your room, they will not come in.

Also, carpets in the hallways and stairwells were dirty. The place seems like it was charming at one time, but needs a lot of TLC and upgrades to bring it back up the that charm.

We paid for a whirlpool tub in out room and they gave us a handicapped walk in shower then moved us upon complaining. The pool was FILTHY, no filter working, the pool heater was not working and the temp was 65 degrees. the hot tub was broken and tarped. We called the day before to confirm and NEVER told of these conditions. I’ve requested 2xfor mgmt to call they never did.

- Erin (10/5): - My stay was perfect. Even though Expedia didn't provide a real oceanfront (instead a sliver of a view), the staff and location more than made up for it. Plus there's a great communal deck with awesome view of ocean and beach. The staff were terrific. When I had my car window smashed in while in Providence, the maintenance guy cleaned it all up. Front desk women (Cassandra and Donna) were friendly and also helpful all around. Great stay. Plan on returning.

- Jacob (2/5): Dirty hotel stuck in 1980 - Room was dirty, mold on the window, smoke alarm needed new batteries and when the front desk was notified they made us change the batteries not a staff member. Then at 3 AM the batteries provided by the front desk died and the alarm proceeded to go off. After going back to the front desk the answer was “yank at the cords” Weird vibe, could be a nice hotel but it’s definitely seen much better days. Save your money and rent near another RI beach
- Margaret (6/5): - Half the lights in our room didn’t come on, the toilet ran all night, the window casing was loose and banged all night, the carpet felt “moist” and the worst was there were blood droplets in the hallway by the elevator in the evening and they were still there the next morning!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Services and Rebate promised NOT delivered - They advertise on their site that they have a pool, hot tub, snack bar and deli. There was no snack bar or deli at all.The pool and hot tub were what we booked it for, for our granddaughters, mostly, staying with us. Well, the hot tub broke 5 days before we checked in. We weren't informed. I can see that things break and parts take awhile to get for hot tubs. But, inform someone ahead of time. The pool was closed also when we were there. A hot tub being broken should not effect the pool, closing it also. They day we checked out, they told us the pool was now open. Thanks a lot, not, as we were checking out you tell us the pool we now can't use is open? The rooms were huge and clean, but the TV's were tiny, and mine at a severe angle to the side of bed instead of in. I got a neck ache. We asked for rooms away from the elevator and on top floor, we got rooms not on the top floor, and one of the two rooms we rented was right across from the elevator. Our room was very far away from our daughter's and grand daughters' room. When we said we were shocked no hot tub or pool, the staff took out our the first day, to tell the manager. The second day, they again took our name and email and cell phone number, as they said the manager said we would get a partial rebate of our total cost becuase of the pool and hot tub closed. We DIDN'T ASK for THIS, they suggested it. Well, the rebates never came. We emailed them and called, they never responed. We felt lied to.

The property is kept clean, as are the individual rooms. The only issue that we faced was with the check-in process, which was sub par.

- Wren (8/5): - Proximity to the beach is the key draw for this hotel. The room balcony was pretty gross—old and moldy—but the shared deck for guests was good. Would be great with a restaurant/bar coming back next year. Staff was friendly. Restaurants within walking distance.
- Gillian (2/5): - Nails sticking up out of your balcony railing, missing siding on the balcony, water damaged bathroom ceiling with bubbled/peeling paint that smells of mildew, safes in the room that don’t work, lifted damaged boards, railings and trash all of the deck could be yours for just around $400 a night.

- janet (4/5): - The hotel has gone down hill over the past few years. The carpeting is stained and smells terrible. The cleaning staff uses a lot of pine-sol type products to cover the smell of the carpeting. The smell is thru-out the facility. Our first room smelled of smoke and damp carpet. 2nd room was just the smell of the carpet and pinesol lingering. The front fesk staff was very helpful with the room switch. The room is dark and other than a table with 2 stained chairs there was not a sitting area. We rented the Surf room which shows an accent chair in the room. Both rooms did not have that.. Thankfully we did make the best of it. I would not recommend or rent here anytime soon. This has been our go to for years past hopefully it can turn around.

- Melaina (2/5): Liars! Do Not Stay Here! - It all started at check-in when I payed for a room with a balcony/patio and was given a room without. The room was dirty and had a chaise with blood stains on it. I complained and they told me that I had to take it up with Hotels.com. I asked why they were the ones that assigned the room and a manager eventually emerged and said there was a problem with the room the toilet didn’t work so they promised to comp the first night and upgrade me the second night. The upgraded room still didn’t have a full ocean room in fact it faced the outside patio so we couldn’t open the shades without sharing our room with the whole patio. The key cards for the rooms took 3 tries to work each time having to return to the front desk. The pool was GREEN. There was flies and trash in the hallways. The tv in our first room was broken. When I checked out I was told by front desk would personally call me with the reimbursement information and whatever else they could do for me because these were all things that others had complained about ie. pool, trash, flies, key cards. I never received a call and now it’s been a week and I have called two more times without a resolution nor a reimbursement. They are liars and the hotel is falling apart. They should be ashamed at the conditions and they are so deceitful as to not mention anything upfront. I think they hope no one complains. At the very least post on the website that the pool has been closed since at least this past January. Do not stay here!!!!

- deborah (4/5): - The location is excellent! Right off the beach and easy to walk to restaurants. Unfortunately our room was not clean. The floor was very sandy and the bed was broken. I went to open the window and it fell out. The roof top deck needs major repairs. Boards curled, easy to trip on. Trash was overflowing all week and very smelly. The view from the deck was spectacular too bad it wasn’t safe if dark as you would not see the broken flooring since there is no lights. We did not use the pool but we were told by friends it was green and slimy. We will never return!
- Lori Ann (6/5): Please adjust our bill - The pool was green and we chose this hotel because my grandson loves to swim. However, it was so full of algae we didn’t let him swim. He was very upset. I would like an adjustment to our bill for our stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not ON beach - NOT ON THE BEACH! You have to pay a $12 walk on fee to get onto the beach. Unfortunately, the other guests were slobs and left messes on the upper patio area. Which could be updated. The location near the beach and everything was great. The staff was nice.
- 59alyp (4/5): Nope! - We stayed here for 1 night while touring colleges in Rhode Island. It was actually recommended on one of the websites. This is absolutely a no go! Other than location, pretty ocean view, it was disgusting. The wooden balcony was rotting and peeling, the communal patio was disheveled and covered in left over pizza boxes, hallways need a serious paint job, the rug in the room was worn and wet from condensation (hopefully!), only 1 large towel in the bathroom for 2 people and when I called down for more they acted like I was high maintenance and asked if I could come get it... I could go on. Even the easy things were pitiful. Our check in process was 20 min due to having 1 working computer and an issue with the computer and then when we finally got our keys, they didn't work and we had to go back downstairs for new ones. I didn't want to make a scene and take more pictures. Do not stay here, definitely NOT worth the over $400 a night we paid.

- Stephen (2/5): - The pool and the deck were disgustingly dirty, the floor in the room was also disgustingly dirty. The safe, coffee maker and numerous outlets were not in working order and the air conditioner was noisy and ineffective.

Outlets were loose so they would not hold the electrical cords. People across the hall were disruptive at late hours. Pool was closed as well as jacuzzi. Was charged a lot of money for the room. Very disappointed.

- Toni (6/5): - My husband & I recently stayed 3 nights at the Aqua Blu Hotel, and it was just ok. It looks like they have made some upgrades but there is still more to go. The pillows were horrible so we bought our own. The air conditioner felt like just the just the fan was blowing at times vs air conditioning, and the dials did not work. The pool was closed for repairs. We missed the bar/restaurant that used to be on the deck.
