Guest Reviews
- TRACEY (10/5): - We stayed in the Church and it was magnificent, the minute we walked in our minds were blown, downstairs had lovely leather single seat winged backed chairs with accompanying Ottomans were great, stained glass windows reflecting coloured light in downstairs. Upstairs there was a king sized roccoco style bed with a huge reading nook that looked back downstairs. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is unique and extremely well appointed then this is a must.
- John (8/5): - A very quaint and lovely property. Within walkable distance of most places.
- Frances Lee (10/5): - A great choice of where to stay in Strahan as it is walkable to the Gordon River Cruise port, dining options and right across the Street from the IGA and pharmacy. Comfortable lodgings, very amiable hosts, and a lovely selection of teas. Good bed with an electric under blanket which was very helpful being the dead of winter. The fireplace and heater in the bathroom were added pluses.
- Amanda (10/5): - Quiet and cosy, easy walk to waterfront. Hosts were lovely and very accommodating
- Andrew (8/5): - lovely old charm and fire place
- Paul (10/5): - We loved this property due to its uniqueness and historical perspective. We especially loved the fireplace, the seating around the fire, and the extra’s provided for our stay. Hosts were friendly with good communication. Property was clean, well appointed and well maintained with the spa bath a bonus.
Thank you.
- Alison (10/5): - Kerry and Kellie were lovely and welcoming and the Sir John cottage was very comfortable and warm. It is on a wonderful location and was very relaxing.
- Wayne (10/5): - Great Heritage feel about the property. Kellie was wonderful and greeted us on arrival to give us a run-down on the place.
Very enjoyable stay.
- John (10/5): - A very special property, from the personal welcome through to the unique atmosphere, it was one of the highlights of our 2 week tour of Tassie.
- Royce (10/5): - Awesome place to stay
- Paris (10/5): - Wonderful accommodation! If you are holidaying in Strahan then this is the place to stay. Doubly so if you have pets. Quiet, peaceful, safe, and with a great little garden for the pups, and a large bath (amongst many other amenities). Really friendly, interesting owners. Highly recommended.
- JANE (10/5): - Beautifully renovated old 1860 church, with lovely bathroom, European laundry, mezzanine bedroom and antique furniture. An absolute pleasure.
- Ruth (8/5): - A beautifully appointed property with some wonderful personal touches and delightful hosts. They’re all prepared for typical remote wifi challenges with supply of a selection of board games and local information to keep you entertained (or relaxed depending on your preference)
- Tameeka (10/5): - Charming old cottage that has more than you need, great heating and spa bath. the Owners Kellie and Kerry go out of there way to make you welcome, we arrived to a present they left us a sample pack of Tassie Gin, port to warm you up in the evening. It's right across from the IGA and Pharmacy which is handy and walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes ,pub , whiskey Bar and foreshore, we will back sometime
- Peter (10/5): - Cosy, warm, romantic and unique atmosphere
- Teresa (10/5): - Very cute cottage
- Jacqueline (10/5): Cosy cottage stay - Great location and clean and cosy cottage. Off street parking and easy walk to town centre. Cottage had everything you need for a self catered stay and welcoming abd friendly hosts.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our favourite accommodation in Tasmania (police superintendents residence). The owners are lovely and go above and beyond with special touches.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the fire place and the little things like the awesome toiletry packs, complimentary port and how the cottage is decorated. It's in a great location within walking distance to all services.
- Christine (10/5): The Church - The Church was cozy and quirky, busy area but quiet at night very convenient to everything in Strahan. Pet friendly was the best bit, our dog loved people watching.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed in the Police Super Intendant's Cottage which was quaint in its history and age. However, some maintenance is required with cracks in doors which lets in cold air etc. Heating is good though.
Lighting provides a historical mood but is inadequate for modern day purposes - would suggest the use of stronger lights and dimmers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wow - What a beautiful cottage. Just unique. A converted church with all amenities. Sitting in front of the open fire was just special.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our cottage lacked charm, was musty and although very clean wasn’t comfortably fresh. It was ok but definitely did not meet expectations,
- Susan (8/5): - Lots of character with an open fire & the kids loved the spa!
- Sherrin (8/5): - Cosy cottage with a nice "old world" atmosphere. I liked the open plan and the floor boards in the living area. It was great to be able to have my two dogs stay with me. The only thing missing really was a washing machine or place to wash or hang clothes.
- Julie (10/5): Would definitely recommend a stay here. - Absolutely spectacular breathtaking
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable and close to IGA, the ward and information centre
