- Damp down (6/5): - no toilet paper and poster repair to side wall didn't look nice, we been the granby 5 times now & this time was for by the worst stay.

- morrison (7/5): Great location and it was fine for a one night stay - The location was good, good price No shower gel provided, room was cramped due to the large sofa in the room , it was difficult to find a parking space but it was New Year’s Eve,
- Jonny (10/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Vanesss (8/5): Good location - Location and pub was great Room was tired... Damp on walls... Needed upgrade
- bryan (6/5): - Nice location, good pub . Staff not too friendly, found hairs in the bedding too, so a bit unkept…
- christine (9/5): - Friendly staff. double room with a comfy sofa plenty of tea and coffee

Definitely want to stay again Nothing
- Stainthorpe (9/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Great location, perfect for a couple of nights away. - Location was perfect. Friendly staff. Room was small but we wasn’t in it long, we were out enjoying Whitby. Nothing.
- Kerry (7/5): - booking.com said check out 10:30am but there was a sign in the room saying it was 10:00am check out and you would be fined.
- Julie (10/5): Will definitely stay at the Granby again - Stayed at the Granby before. Everything you needed. Quite a few stairs to navigate with your bags but got there in the end. If you stay here, go and sample the food in the bar, we ate there every day/night. Food is amazing and very very generous portions. Nothing really to do with the host but a double bed is just too small for me and my hubby. Didn't sleep very well. Room was quite chilly too despite the radiators being on.
- Kenneth (8/5): - The hotel is not the tope end of luxury but it is comfortable and homely. The staff are friendly and helpful. Thestairs. (I'm 74.)
- Garnett (9/5): - Friendly staff location ☺️
- Grant (9/5): Pleasant stay - Location,friendly staff,spacious room with a couch. Everything fine.
- Scott (3/5): Wouldn’t stop again far better b&b in the area disappointing - Good location The room is in dire need of a tidy up
The bathroom smelt of sewer
- Adella (3/5): Couldn't sleep due to noise - The bedding was comfortable. The room was nicely decorated. Damp smell in bathroom that didn't go away. Incredibly loud noise (fan?) outside all night. Honestly sounded like I'd put a kitchen extractor fan over the bed and turned it on full. It made it impossible to sleep. I closed the window, which reduced the noise to more like 'standing next to a particularly loud idling car' but meant the room was hot. I heard other guests complaining about it as well, which ironically was also a source of noise which made it hard to sleep. I'm a city girl and fine with normal sounds like traffic, but this was impossible to ignore and I wouldn't go back.
- Russ (8/5): - n/a Electric shower which never seem powerfuk enough.
- Jane (10/5): Nice pub, clean rooms are well equipped and good location. 2nd time at the granby & would stay again - Friendly people & the room was very clean. Bed was comfortable too Strong smell of food/fish even in room but it is an eating pub too so it’s expected.
- tezziec (8/5): Excellent place to stay. Short {steep} walk into town. Lots of stairs to the room {no,1} - N/A Quite a few stairs.
- Crow Camper (7/5): As expected, nothing fancy but comfortable and well located. - The room was above a pub so noise was to be expected. The room was small but comfortable. The food in the Pub was real good, ate there both nights. We knew it was a room above a pub so it was noisy as expected. We were there on a busy weekend and the band was rocking.
- Kath (10/5): Amazing location and great price - Easy access day and night very clean and comfortable Nothing
- Jan (8/5): Small rooms but clean and comfortable - Good location, and great pub with proper beer and tasty home cooked food Unfortunately for us they had experienced a busy lunch period and many of the dishes weren’t available by the time we ate in the early evening. However, what we did have was good and freshly prepared.
The room was on the small side, and up some quite steep stairs
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Bedroom small but bed was comfortable
Staff very friendly and food very good Small bathroom and room ,and a little noisy
- Josephine (10/5): Good value hotel in a good location with everything you need. - Great location to get into town. We didn’t have food in hotel.
- Peter (7/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): - The flat was very spacious and comfortable. Nicely presented. It was definitely worth the price we paid. Especially with it being bank holiday too. Will definitely come back to stay. The lock on the door of the flat we stayed in was faulty. Took a while getting in and out!
- Dore (8/5): -
- David (6/5): - Good location and comfortable
Just be aware of the live music in the bar that is on until 11,30 at night on a Friday and Saturday...no good if you want an eatrly night...even tho the rooms are on the second floor!
- David (10/5): Excellant stay - Friendly Welcome
Street parking available £1 per day
Room & bathroom spotless
- Ian (6/5): -
- Parry (8/5): -
- Albinger (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): - Nice location and staff. Decent room, fair price. Lack of wifi. Nearby parking provided, good price at £2 for 48 hours. Pleased overall.
- William (10/5): Good rooms in an excellent location - Excellent location with nice modern rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Damp (10/5): Exceptional - everything
- Dale (10/5): Excellent place to stay, good location and brilliant staff - Everything
- Joanne (7/5): Good - Bed was comfortable. Staff were nice. A bit dated. Needs some TLC.
- Scrivens-tudge (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Clean , comfortable room above a lovely pub good location in Whitby A lot of stairs to room
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (3/5): Unwelcoming, needs a good clean around, needs a fan. - Location Cobwebs, broken handle, too hot, shower door didn’t close properly
- Linda (4/5): - Macheala booked us in, she’s so friendly and helpful, a great asset to this old pub with rooms, it’s not a hotel. The entrance door for guests is piled high with cigarette ends, not a good look. Our room at the top of a very narrow staircase was so small, the bed was a small double and we didn’t get much sleep. Not fit for two adults. The room was so hot but we couldn’t keep the window open as the pubs cellar cooling system ran all night long with the system just under our window. They don’t offer breakfast which is not included, until 10 am, too late as we had a bus to catch at that time. Real hotels offer breakfast from much earlier. Very disappointed and not worth the money paid.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - The room was clean and well equipped. Location is great and even though it is above the pub its very quiet
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shanks (7/5): Good -
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (10/5): location , food. welcoming , easy parking - lovely old whitby pub with accomadation lovely and clean staff were friendly and helpful . breakfast was really lovely fresh and hot would recommend getting a small breakfast as large is to much . there wasn’t anything
- Charlene (3/5): Poor -
- Agustin (7/5): Great short stay, comfortable room and good location - Great location, cousy and comfortable room. Comfortable room, keep in mind is on the top floor and quite steep stairs. Staff seemed quite busy and sometimes it takes longer for requests
- Marie (8/5): Very good - Location, food was excellent Shower was not very good
- Milko (7/5): Disappointing - Hotel is clean, staff were friendly and the evening entertainment was good, there was a decent sized wardrobe and cupboards.
Breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced. Room was very small, bathroom was tiny with no shelves or anywhere to put your toiletries and no bin in the bathroom, wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have any walking difficulties as it is located up a steep hill and the room was up 3 flights of stairs.
The bed had a mattress topper on but wasn't comfy at all.
- Hudson (9/5): Superb - Great pub food drinks and entertainment Friday & Saturday
- Mcgreal (5/5): Comfy bed but tired decor. - Location A little tired for the price

- Michael (10/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable and very clean room. Was able to park close by with help of hotel, who provided on street parking permit for smallcharge £4 for 2 nights. Would definetely recommend and will use again
- Russel (7/5): Good - Evening food was lovely.
- Neil (7/5): Good -
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - Comfy bed, clean and heater worked well.
When we first entered the room it did smell like drains. It cleared when window had been opened. Also when we returned after being out.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good - I liked the actual building and pub. The location. The locals were friendly. We didn't eat there but it did look popular and busy. The Parking, but that wasn't their fault as I didn't know they had a scratch card system for Disc display which is used in that area.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (7/5): Good -
- John (7/5): Good - ?????it was ok and would go again Walls could do with painting, to hide damp patches,,the duvet wasn't big enough for bed( it was me to you you to me
- Alyson (5/5): Passable - Our room was quite small, made even smaller by a settee that didn’t need to be there. Would be better without. Also the shower was very poor.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Andy (10/5): Worth the money you pay good all round - Friendly staff nice food worth the money i paid
- Jane (10/5): We loved the granby hotel the room we stayed in was small but adequate with enough storage for clothes. Decor was shabby - Location and good food The decor in the rooms is tired and needs updating
- Ian (5/5): Passable - Food in the bar was good. Room was small, bathroom was very small, shower was too small, sink was too small and no room to move about.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (9/5): Superb -

Quilt not big enough for the very creaky bed or thick enough ! Checkout on booking.com says 10.30 ? hotel said check out 10 😕
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Gillian (4/5): Disappointing -
