Guest Reviews
- miguel (10/5): - El trato, buena ubicación La piscina estaba en mantenimiento, pero nos ofrecieron la del hotel vecino
- Marc A.M. (8/5): Mooie accommodatie en schitterende tuin. - Zeer schoon; mooie tuin. Jammer dat het zwembad verbouwd werd; maar dat had de eigenaresse vooraf wel aangekondigd.
- Amanda (8/5): - The staff was wonderful, very kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable and surroundings beautiful. It felt very peaceful. I would have given this hotel highest score if it weren’t for the pool; it was under maintenance and we were not informed. The main reason why we booked this hotel was because of the pool (I had 2 free days in Entebbe and just wanted to sun tan and swim and relax). They did give us the option to go to the pool of the hotel next door which was nice, however not near as nice as the one from Karibu and for the price we paid. I think it’s very important to let the guests know that not all the facilities are available when you book a hotel.
- Paula (8/5): - The team was very flexible and accommodating to any food intolerances for breakfast and dinner. I sincerely appreciated their attention to details. The room is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated.
The attention to details is prevalent in the service and overall attention provided from the moment I arrived in the hotel until you left. Thank you.

- Karin (10/5): -

- Gaelle (8/5): - The place has a nice garden..it is green and quiet..with birds around.
Close to the airport
- Claire (10/5): Great place to stay before or after your trip around Uganda. -

- Warren (7/5): One night before flying out - Convenient for airport. Beautiful gardens. Great food in restaurant but limited choice. Staff are wonderful. Rooms are quite dated but quaint. Lots of mosquitoes so needed aircon despite mossie netting over bed. Aircon noisy and rattling all night but drowned out some of the aircraft noise and the calls to prayer from nearby mosque. Very expensive compared to other properties.
- Jeremiah (10/5): Exceptional - I love the professionalism and welcoming spirit of the staff members at the property.
- Michelle (10/5): Comfortable and cute - Lovely boutique hotel, fabulous food, beautiful grounds, happy and accommodating staff Perfect for our quick stay
- Ann (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Entebbe. - Great tranquil accommodation. Staff were very welcoming and exceptionally helpful. Leslie, the owner, Stella and Lisa all made their presence felt and the ground staff were very hard working. N/A
- Terence (9/5): Superb - Wonderful staff.
- Lauren (4/5): The staff were wonderful and attentive but the hotel did not meet our expectations - The first thing that needs to be mentioned is that the staff were incredible! They met us at the car, greeted us by name and were happy to attend to our needs. I cannot express enough how wonderful the staff were despite being at capacity.
They were happy to take into consideration my dietary requirements which I appreciated - I actually didn't get the chance to try the food as we left the hotel early in the morning (although it was offered).
The hotel was also located a 10 minute drive from the airport and they offered free airport transfers.
Additionally, once guests were in their rooms and not in the hall way, I couldn't hear them so I was able to get a full nights sleep. Lastly, there was AC and a fan which was appreciated too! Despite the truly wonderful and attentive staff, the hotel did not meet our expectations. We had previously stayed in the Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala which was cheaper and the hotel was SIGNIFICANTLY nicer. There were more amenities offered and the quality of the rooms and hotel is much higher.
We appreciate that this is a boutique hotel, rather than a chain, but the high price tag was not justified. The rooms were VERY basic. Even whilst including the cost of an Uber to and from Kampala from Entebbe, it is possible to stay at a hotel with more amenities/ rooms of a higher value for the same price. Whilst we appreciated the convenience of being near the airport, Kampala is not too long of a drive away.
Additionally, the mosquito net in the bedroom was more of a curtain, which I was disappointed with because the window was in the same section of the room as the bed, which wasn't protected by the mosquito net. Mosquito repellent for the room is provided, but the mosquito net is important.
As I said at the beginning, my review cannot take away from how wonderful the staff were - I really valued their kindness during our short stay. We were just disappointed with the quality of the rooms considering the high price tag (which starts at $180 USD per night for guests who do not book through booking.com).
- Amy (10/5): Excellent little oasis, private, friendly and beautiful for a relaxing getaway in Entebbe. - The food was great and the staff was attentive and friendly.
The pool was lovely and the grounds beautiful
Rooms were clean and big and had a nice patio area for relaxing. Wifi in the room didn't work for the first day but after that it was fine.
- Marianne (8/5): Relax and enjoy - The Lodge is amiable and meets the needs of intercontinental guests. I liked the avocado room, which was next to the main building. It is cozy and private.
The breakfast was very good and fresh, and the coffee was super.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Everthing was oke.
- Lois (9/5): Superb - Breakfast very good, staff great.
- Paru (9/5): Beautiful property and gardens combined with warm and friendly service - We had a lovely restful stay at Karibu Entebbe. Stella, Rose, Tina and the rest of the team offered us warm and world-class service during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the yummy food including local specialties like the Rolex! Jennifer the masseuse and her massages were just what we needed after returning from a tough gorilla-trekking experience. Charging in local currency for food and drink would have been better for our currency conversion, but no dramas.
- Patriek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): lovely, small, well located hotel to stay in Entebbe - the greenery, the quiet, the lovely garden and small but nice pool and the staff and food were excellent
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiara (9/5): Amazing place to stay. Very clean. Lovely food. Wonderful staff. Highly recommended. - Both breakfast and dinner at the outdoor restaurant were delicious and very well presented. I really appreciated the attention to detail (curtains, cushions, mosquito nets, interior design,...) and the kindness of the staff. We really enjoyed having coffee in the lovely garden while listening to the bird calls. The view on the lake is lovely as well.
- Lori (9/5): Superb -
- Wang (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay. Clean and well kept. Pleasant and helpful staff.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Attention to detail in all aspects from staff training, to room preparation and presentation of menu. Restricted menu but understandable given the venue size and location
