Guest Reviews
- Elaine (8/5): Welcoming, friendly and comfortable! - A comfortable stay for three nights. We received an email prior to our stay advising of transport options to the guest house! This was very much appreciated and helped so much in reducing the stress of arriving in a new country and not knowing where you are going! We had a warm welcome from the proprietor on the Saturday morning so that we could leave our bags! We were offered coffee and cakes and shown a map of the town and advised about restaurants and places to visit during our stay. Our room was not due to be ready till 5 pm but we were able to leave our bags and were given the key to the room so that we didn’t need to return till the end of the day! The room was comfortable and well equipped for a few nights stay. The only thing I would have liked to have been included would have been a kettle and coffee making facilities but this was available at the communal lounge area. Breakfast was good with a selection of fruit, cereal, breads, and croissants with a variety of jams and preserves on the table. Tea or coffee is brought to the table or you can make your own. Tea and coffee making facilities are available throughout your stay and you can also have wine or beer in the lounge area Would definitely recommend staying here our only complaint being that we unfortunately got bites from something during the night! No complaints to the proprietors just unlucky on our part!
- lisa (10/5): - This B&B was a haven from the noisy city life. Easy walk to Old Town Bordeaux. We went for an overnight stay to visit Le Cite du Vin which is a must see. I do prefer the cities near the ocean more than Bordeaux, it was a nightmare driving in the city. Lots of university students within blocks. But Archichon is a better city to stay in rather than Bordeaux.
- Michael Kramer (10/5): What a great place and host! - Wonderful place and host. Walk through the door and your are in a very pleasant oasis. Sylvain could not have been more helpful. Room was great as was breakfast. Can't wait to come back!
- Steve (10/5): - Spacious rooms and common areas. Very clean and well decorated. The spaces were comfortable and inviting. A common breakfast area provided a nice opportunity to meet other travelers. Breakfast was excellent with a nice selection of local cheeses and meats-the croissants were delicious! The property is well situated in the city and walkable to good shopping, dining and public transportation. Sylvain was a kind and helpful host who offered great suggestions on how to better enjoy Bordeaux. Merci beaucoup!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy access to the major sights, including nearby tram stop (and bus stop to the airport). Lovely, spacious room and very pretty property with nice attention to detail and convivial breakfast -- but the highlight of our stay at La Villa was definitely the host, Sylvain. As a proud native of Bordeaux, he is a terrific source of information about the city he loves, and he equipped us with detailed maps, making brilliant (and tailor-made to suit our interests) suggestions for fun places to visit, excellent restaurants, memorable exhibitions. We highly recommend this place!
- Shawn (10/5): amazing value, can't recommend highly enough - Can't say enough good things about this stay. Sylvain (sp?) was the most gracious host (and should consider raising his prices). I almost didn't want to leave the sanctuary-like feel of this place. Smells like honey-suckle as soon as you walk through the gate. Looking forward to return visit :)
- Lynda (10/5): - Sylvain was a great host and gave us good tips about the city. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My husband and I stayed here for what was supposed to be 3 nights. We had issues with our plane and ended up not being able to get there the first night. The host was so incredibly helpful and even contacted Expedia to reimburse some of that nights stay due to use not being able to be there. The host was so helpful throughout our stay, he provided us with a map and several points of interest. The breakfast was delicious and in a cute common area. The patio was beautiful. This place was so tranquil, we had a wonderful time bringing a bottle of wine back and drinking it on the patio. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.
- Kristen (10/5): - Sylvain was amazing! Very helpful and informative. The area is great and walking distance to everything. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely come back!
- Fabrice (10/5): Fantástico - Dueño muy simpático y acogedor.
Habitación amplia y cómoda.
Zonas comunes muy agradables.
Desayuno perfecto.
Jacuzzi
- Verified traveler (10/5): - La Villa is in a great location, close to transport, shops and restaurants. The hotel is stylish, comfortable and clean. The host, Sylvain couldn’t be more helpful, taking the time on our arrival to give us restaurant recommendations, a map of the city and some history.
The weather was rather wet when we visited Bordeaux but this didn’t matter as the hotel provided umbrellas which was rather welcomed.
When we are next in Bordeaux we will definitely be returning to La Villa.
- Min seop (10/5):
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unexpectedly nice and charming hotel - Nice hotel very close to the city center.
Extremely nice owner accommodating all of our requests
- A (8/5): great way to wind up a tour - it was the last stop on a 2 week trip from Madagascar to Dordogne. Nice ending and host was most helpful in our exploring information . plus beautiful artwork!
- Sonia (6/5): Will give a skip to Bordeaux - We drove there however the apartment has no parking place so we were direct to park near a school. Need to inform owner before our arrival as owner is not schedule to be in the apartment, this really made us inconvenience. Is better to walk to the shopping area as this area is packed with cars.
- Alessandra Andrade (10/5): Lovely Accommodation!! - We had a great time at La Villa! The accommodations are good, well located and the breakfast is quite tasty! Silvan, the owner of La Villa, welcomed us very well and helped us with great tips about the Bordeaux region !!!
A recommander
- Maria A B (10/5): Encantador! - Hotel encantador! Super recomendo a hospedagem!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hotel, hidden away from the busy street scene. Manager for very polite and the cakes were lovely! I would definitely recommend to others.
- Lee (8/5): Nice boutique hotel at a reasonable price. - This a nice small boutique hotel just on the fringe of the old city. Good access to restaurants and sight seeing. Rooms are spacious and clean and there is a very nice deck area to lounge on and take in the sun when the weather is nice. A very good value at the price. The only negative is the bed mattresses are not the most co forts le and could benefit from an upgrade.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent villa in convenient location - The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens and paintings. It is next to transportation options including the bus to the airport. Silva is an excellent host and the typical French breakfast is delicious
- Chris (10/5): Great Place Even Better Host - We stayed at this boutique hotel in May 2016. The location was central and convenient and close to the market. The room (more like a studio apartment) had plenty of space, was clean, airy and private. Breakfast was fresh and a good variety of food and soft drinks, wine and beer available. Our host Sylvain was absolutely fantastic and couldn't have done more to make our stay wonderful including recommending and booking local restaurants/brasseries, sourcing and booking a fantastic lunch in St. Emilion and Cape Feret. What a great guy!! highly recommend this place. Will definitely stay here again!
- Jeff (10/5): Great Value - Hotel pricing is very attractive. You are located just on the fringe of the major tourist areas but everything you want to visit is within comfortable walking distance. You cannot beat this place for the price. Rooms are large, amenities are nice and the location is decent. Would highly recommend.
- Chris (10/5): Excellent stay close to the centre of the city - Excellent location close to the centre of the city. Hotel itself was excellent and we loved coming off the busy street into the green and calm communal area. Our only gripe would be that arriving by car was rather difficult as it was hard to find a temporary parking space while we checked in and got access to the private parking, I would suggest anyone arriving by car just be prepared for a bit of driving round the narrow streets nearby to find a spot
- Ryan (10/5): Amazing B&B in Bordeaux - We stayed here while enjoying the local culinary flair and of course the wine. La Villa proved an absolute gem due to the outstanding service, relaxing atmosphere, and quaint character. Although a couple of minutes walk from the central part of town, the extra couple of minutes are well worth it. If we are ever back in Bordeaux, we will certainly be staying here again.
- Mike (10/5): An oasis of calm and excellence - This B & B is superb. Armal our host was very attentive, the room and facilities were excellent and the French breakfast - meats, cheese, home made cakes etc - could not be improved. The location is ideal - very close to a direct bus route from the airport (line 1, Euro 1.5); very convenient to visit the main sights of the city on foot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Brilliant Bordeaux B&B - Fantastic hotel, great hosts, great place to stay at
- Paul's review (10/5): Delightful stay in a little oasis - Great B and B. Hosts were perfect and location excellent for exploring Bordeaux.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Charming property close to centre. Helpful staff. Only downside soft mattress and leaky shower.
- Roan (10/5): Perfect place to stay in a big city. - Sylvan is an amazing host! He speaks English and helped us in multiple ways. He was always accessible and ready to help us plan our time in Bordeaux.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Love the gardens and the living area! - This is an b&b done just right! The huge patio surrounded by beautiful plants and the spacious living room are where we hung out after we tired of exploring the city. Rooms were okay and bed was comfy.
- John (10/5): A hidden gem of a retreat from bustling Bordeaux - Unassuming entrance reveals a garden retreat with modern facilities, clean and comfortable space, gracious caring host, and generous breakfast. Our host Sylvain, was clearly knowledgeable and proud of his city, and had many excellent recommendations re: the city history, what to see and where to dine.
- Kiwiana (10/5): A quiet and relaxing haven - Can totally recommend this place to stay. You will not be disappointed. From the moment you step through the door to this oasis in a great central location you will feel relaxed, welcome and at peace. It is a real holiday. Lovely hosts who are really helpful help to make your stay a pleasant one.
- Anita (10/5): An oasis in Bordeaux - La Villa is an island of serenity off a busy street in Bordeaux. It is quiet, beautifully landscaped, and each room has the theme of a different local writer. The rooms are spacious and spotless with very comfy beds. The breakfast buffet was ample and delicious. Our host Alain speaks excellent English and went out of his way to be helpful, sitting down with us over a map and pointing out the high points and recommended restaurants. A wonderful place, I cannot recommend it enough.
- Manuel (10/5): a hidden gem in Bordeaux... - I was in Bordeaux for business and stumbled upon this great location. I wouldn't really classify it as a hotel, but rather a modern Bed & Breakfast. They've got five rooms with a nice public space (where we take the breakfast), as well as access to a hot tub. While I didn't have access to the other rooms, mine was finely appointed, with a good tv and a comfortable bed. The place is only about a block and a half from Place de la Victoire, which represents one edge of the old town. Great proximity to the trams and to sight-seeing attractions. As well, Sylvain was very helpful upon my arrival, and the morning breakfast was excellent. I will definitely stay here again.
