• charmedone005 (6/5): Good if you’re on a tight budget - Very old motel. It was clean though. I didn’t like that all of the outlets were occupied and I had no where to charge my phone. Also there is no bedside table to put items that someone might need to have close by at night. It’s a narrow spot next to the bed but there is room for a small shelf or narrow IKEA type nightstand. No clock radio either. They have a decent size mini fridge in which we were able to fit our small cooler without having to empty its contents and refrigerate all the items separately. I found that to be practical. They have a toaster, coffee pot and a microwave. (We didn’t have a need to use any of these.) They have dishes but the drinking glasses were grimy. Wifi is free but the signal was weak and non existant in the back part of the room. There are other motels in town that are about $20 more a night that I believe I will try next time I am in this area. I would still describe this place a decent place for the price you’re paying (we paid $80/night + taxes).

• Carol (8/5): - It was not the Ritz but was clean and provided us with what we needed. Was reasonably priced and lady in reception was friendly. Room was very spacious and actually had separate bedrooms.

No ventilation in bathroom and couldn't open windows because there were no screens. Customers have to clean the dishes, so if the previous people are not too keen on cleanliness, you're in for dirty dishes. Floor was really dirty. Trully not worth the price.

Le lit était dur et les oreillers inconfortables. La cuisinière datait de 1960 (au moins) et les chaudrons et ustensiles n'étaient pas très propres. Comme on demande aux gens de laver leur vaisselle avant de partir, j'imagine que tous ne sont pas très méticuleux.
• zoda99 (6/5): Okay if there's nothing else - All the motels were booked from northern NB to this area of Quebec and we really needed someplace to sleep so we got the last room here. It's dated and somewhat rundown, but the woman at the counter was nice and the rooms were fairly clean. As well they allowed our dog to stay and didn't charge extra (very unusual). We paid $100. Usually we get a Days Inn, Comfort Inn etc in this area from about $80 and they are much newer and nicer, have free breakfast and often a pool. So not great value or aged, but fits the bill for a not expensive, very basic, clean place to sleep for 8 hrs.

La propreté de l'escalier (intérieur) pour se rendre à la chambre est dans un piteux état. Vue (de loin) sur le fleuve mais aucun accès pour s'y rendre. La très petite télé est installée près du plafond...pas génial ça non plus. À mon avis une chambre dans cet hotel ne vaux pas plus de 30 à 40$ maximum et on nous fait payer plus que le double.

• michelsavage966 (2/5): Don't go there - à proscrire - Imagine it`s minus 20. Two windows (double pane) in the room were stuck open, frozen by ice. When we arrived, after waiting 10 minutes in the lobby, the room was overheated, except in the bathroom where the temperature was barely above freezing. No plug for the bath. No control over heat. Old and decrepit stuff. Early morning, surprise: no heat at all, anywhere, and it was getting colder by the minute. So my wife and my daughter all cuddled up to the kitchen stove where the oven was producing a bit of heat. We tried to call the manager a hundred times. No answer. At least, we had internet. It looks like the owners are quite poor, and evidently, the place is run down and will probably soon close due to problems of no maintenance. There were also problems with plumbing, as mentioned by someone in this thread. If you use hot water, then switch to cold, it`ll hot for a long time... Here is an eloquent example of the qualifier "NEGLECT".

• swiss2006 (8/5): Great place for the price! - We stayed here as a stop over on our way to the maritimes. We payed $125CAD for a room for 5 people. If you have more than 2 kids, you know how expensive rooms can be for a family of 5 or more. After reading the reviews I knew what to expect. I agree with other reviews, It does need to be refreshed. That said, the hotel room we had was huge, with 3 doubles and a kitchenette. The beds were comfortable. No problem with WIFI. It was clean and everything worked. Staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again.

Clean big rooms with kitchette bathroom with tub/shower combo .. with a/c if wanted ... centrally located. Great place to stay!! Only one issue pipes made a weird noise when you flush ...

It's a nice 10 minute walk from a quaint main street in Riviere-du-loup that had many nice cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. It's a similarly close walk to the Parc des chutes. We enjoyed our brief stay in this nice town and motel.

• 518amandal (4/5): Overpriced - For $83.93 CAD this is what we got: Bad parking arrangement with next to no room, a running toilet (with a hair on it), a seriously noisy a/c in the kitchenette (had to be turned off before bed), cracked floor tiles throughout (they moved when walked on), a severely outdated bathroom with shampooing soap, no outlets in the bedroom and a very small double bed (we reserved for a "huge" double bed) that was so noisy and hard. I've had better sleep in my car during road trips. The wifi was terrible; I could connect to the router but not the Internet or any apps using it. The fridge was not cold enough and there was no door on the mini freezer so I couldn't throw my ice packs in. The lady at the front desk was nice and very polite. And it was a place to sleep. There was the kitchenette with a few small appliances as well as a stove; a living room area with loves seat and a chair; and another chair in the bedroom. Next time I'll upgrade to something a bit more expensive and feel more secure.

Kitchenette: A/C was located in this room instead of the bedroom; the A/C unit was so loud, we had to turn it off so we could sleep in the bedroom; mini fridge wasn't very cold even with temperature down lowest; freezer door in mini fridge was missing; the chairs and table reminded me of my grandparents old table and chairs; decor was beyond dated. Living Room: very dated; cracked and loose floor tiles throughout; modern TV with good picture and sound; nice lamp; armchair and love seat okay; painting on the wall was okay; only one spare plug. Bedroom: cracked and loose floor tiles throughout; no available plugs at all; reading light behind bed did not work; decor was beyond dated; bed was very loud (squeaky) and rigid (hard); if I could have slept in my car, I would have. Bathroom: beyond dated; very bright (good thing); toilet kept tuning after flushed and had to take tank top of to stop tank from constantly running (draining) toilet not likely cleaned as I found a "hair" of sorts on the seat; towels we okay. Overall: not worth $88 dollars even with kitchenette; didn't feel comfortable while staying here.

• Disappointed (2/5): overnight stay - The motel from the pictures and even when you arrive is very inviting. The actual motel room was in very poor condition. There was a kitchenette (that we didn't really want) but was a feature, I guess. However the fridge was old and it was rusty inside and not something that you wanted to use. The actual beds were old and not comfortable. The parking was tight to get in and out of.

• Chris (2/5): Discusting hotel stay away - When we drove up to the motel we thought how lovely. The experience with this hotel was discusting. The lady at the desk tried to be very accommodating because even though I called to make sue they recieved my reservations and told them I could not use stairs our room was on the second floor with a ton of stairs. So to give her credit she found us a room and even though hubby and I don't smoke it was a smoking room. We agreed to take it. But we were not prepared for the sheets and blankets to reak, the bathtub was unsafe to stand in for a shower, the coffee pot broken, my hubby cut his arm on the soap dispenser in the shower, the beds were hard as rocks. I found cigarette ashes on the bottom mattress and the mattress frame. I used a whole bottle of powder in the bed so I could get rid of just part of the smoke smell. Even though we accepted a smoking room there is no way the sheets should have smelled so bad and had so many stains. Please do not use this place.! Our Sidon and family had a room as well up all those stairs which was fine for them but they had to call down to the desk three times in the middle of the night because of the noise that woke up them and the kids to be met with someon who all of a sudden could not speak English or understand my sons French. When we called Expedia about this problem they called the hotel who said too bad about a refund or even a partial refund.
• Chris (2/5): Horrible experience - Upon arriving we thought the hotel looked quite unique and we're pleased. The lady at the desk was helpful in finding a room for us - even though we had reservations for a room with no stairs. We had to accept a smoking room. Reeked !!! Especially the sheets and blankets. We had rented a room for our son and family as well. They had no problems with using the stairs. During the night they were woken up - all of them including the kids- with loud shouting, banging on the walls, swearing, screaming etc when my son called to the desk to complain the was met with someone who all of a sudden could not speak English, this was strange because there was no problem when we checked in. After calling two more times he was ready to call the police. We had a 12 hour drive home the next day and no one was getting any sleep. When we tried to complain the next morning at check out which is 8:30 in the morning - who has check out that early??? They do. The door was locked and we could not talk to anyone. How convenient. We called Expedia and after trying to get us a refund or even a partial refund he was told no way! The only way we can let people know this is a discusting place and experience is horrible is through this posting.

• PrairieSunrise (4/5): Could be charming with better service. - We chose this motel as it was close to restaurants and looked rather charming. We travelled with a group and unfortunately one of our members became ill and wished to stay for a couple of days so we would pick her up on our way back. That night we tried to contact her and the phone rang and rang. We worriedly called the front desk and they were most unhelpful. We tried again later and the same results. We asked the clerk to please at least walk over and see if our member was okay but the clerk adamantly refused stating that she could not leave her desk. Our person's cell phone was international and wouldn't work. The next day we were getting very concerned and called more times asking the clerk to please tell our person that we were trying to reach her. The motel office was just across the driveway from the room. Finally late in the day we were able to get through and found out that the phone had been broken in her room for the past two days. Management made no effort to help us at all and was completely unconcerned. I would not recommend this motel based on the terrible service we received.
• 5Emilia (8/5): Not bad :) - Everything in the area was full, so with reluctance (after reading reviews) booked a room here. However, it was not so bad, clean, not too expensive, we got a room 19 overlooking the lake on the terrace were chairs and table perfect for breakfast. The room had a stove fridge microwave toaster and a little old tv. In the bathroom everything workedand we had a shower gel haha;) air conditioning worked. Close to the main street (10 minutes walk ). We stayed for two nights, we were in town to watch the whales as we did. It is a motel with two stars so dnot expect miracles
• sorry2late (2/5): Awful - We came across this motel while traveling home after a three week tour of the east coast. We requested a room on the ground floor but were given one two flights of stairs away. I told the owner that I had difficulty walking up the stairs and he replied that the exercise was good for me. I was ready to leave but they had taken our visa payment for the room. The outside walkway to our room was slanted and the railing was loose. I felt this was unsafe. Inside our room the air conditioner did not work therefore we were given another room. It wasn't any better. The floors were slanted and uneven making it difficult to walk if you have mobility issues. The decor was very dated and dingy looking. The lighting was poor. The beds were one step above a park bench. The dishes in the cupboard were dirty and the coffee was in little baggies from God knows where. We left as soon as there was daylight. This place needs to be demolished. Hindsight is 100 percent. I wished I had checked with tripadvisor first. I will do that in future.
• Maya123_456 (2/5): Awful - When I first walked into the reception, another guest arrived to complain there was no hot water. The owner said he had plumbing work done all week and probably just needed to reopen the valves. It was late so I booked a room with kitchenette for $78. After moving room 3 times, we finally found one that had hot water. By the next morning, there was no cold water even in the toilet. The kitchen drawers were disgusting. There was barely any dishes, cutlery or pots and pans. To turn the tv on, we had to turn on the lights. There was an ac unit in the kitchen which did nothing for the rest of the rooms. The ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work. There was loud hard rock music coming from a neighbouring house. The owner said it would be over by 10pm but it wasn't. The bed creaked. The towels were rough. It's the most awful motel I have ever stayed at. The owner said most motels like his were $120. I think he is lucky to still be in business.
• int2406 (8/5): Motel Cote - Needed a motel for a couple of nights. The room was very big, had a kitchenette with a table and large closet. I was offered to keep my bike in the room which was a plus. Price was excellent 75 dollars for a night.
