Guest Reviews
- Matt (2/5): - This property was under refurbishment when my party arrived. Floors torn up, kitchen in bits. They said they attempted to contact me to offer an alternative accommodation.
The alternative accommodation was a single room with a double bed where I specifically required two rooms and beds. No external hot tub either.
They offered 25% off this second accommodation which was still more expensive than booking it normally.
They have provided a "full refund" where I have been short changed, need to contact them yet again.
The Green tea cabin is down as being fully booked until at least October but this is NOT true, the cabin and grounds are in pieces and not suitable to stay in. Cheap attempt at making the property seem popular.
We drove a long way to get there without them contacting us to advise on the cabin, I feel they were banking on letting the lesser property.
BE AWARE WHEN DEALING WITH THE PEOPLE MANAGING THIS PROPERTY.
- jong im (10/5): - This cozy home has all we need!
- Gina (8/5): Cute cabin great location! - We would stay here again. Great location. Very cute cabin. Great service. Minutes from everything. Quiet and safe. Couch and bed were not super comfortable. Spiders in cabin which I assume is unavoidable. Bring #4 coffee filters.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - we had a great time at this cute Green Tea cabin met all of our needs . Nice quiet neighborhood.. walking distance from the village...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was cozy, clean, quiet, and homey. Walking distance to shops and restaurants
- John (10/5): Best Little cabin in Big Bear - This is a great little cabin for a get away. It has privacy, amenities, and a great hot tub.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and very well put together. Stacey is super helpful with anything that we ask. Will definitely stay here again.
- Sheena (2/5): - Our first night in the cabin was fine. When I woke up the next morning, it was a whole other story. There were large bugs crawling all over the bedroom I was sleeping in! The bugs were on the beds, pillows, walls, and floor. We decided that because there were so many bugs crawling around the cabin there was no way we would be able to sleep there that night. I texted Stacey, the manager, and she said that they had sprayed the cabin the week before and even the day we checked in, for the bugs. She said they knew the bugs were a problem and offered to have someone come spray the cabin again that day. I have allergies and I have 2 little kids and the last thing I want is for them to be exposed to more harsh chemicals. So, we packed up our things and were out by the check-out time that day. Stacey said we would get a refund or discount because of the bug situation but had to speak with her supervisor. The next day she told me bugs are to be expected in Big Bear and since the bugs were not bed bugs or spiders, they're under no obligation to give us a discount or refund. I’m okay with a bug here and there, but not bugs everywhere! The room was infested. We physically could not sleep in the beds because there were bugs crawling all over the place and they refused to give us a refund for the night we didn’t stay there. Stay here at your own risk. The owners don’t care – they just want your money.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cute and Dirty - We stayed at this cabin for a ski weekend in February. The place is cute, like the photos. We booked this particular cabin because we wanted to have a hot tub to use after a cold day of skiing. After shoveling our way to the hot tub, we found it cold, discolored, and with a strong odor (see photo). The Owner offered to send someone to service it, but they never showed. When I requested a partial refund from the Owner due to this amenity being unusable, they denied the request. We chose this cabin over other more conveniently located and inexpensive options because of the advertised features. The cabin also had ants in the restroom and the exterior trash bin was completely full. The place looks nice and was fairly comfortable, but was a long walk to town. In the end, we were disappointed with the condition of the cabin and with the Owner's lack of care for their property and guests.
- ElmerF (6/5): - My family stayed here for a couple of nights and enjoyed the snowy weather in early February.
What we liked:
- Small property situated near restaurants, shops (The Village), and Ski Resorts.
- It really feels like the property is yours when you are here.
- Quiet and safe
- We saw a fox lurking around and even followed its tracks (cool!)
- Features: a pellet stove in the living area, and a jacuzzi outside, refrigerator, microwave, ice box, stove, washer and dryer
- TV is streamed via NetFlix on Apple TV (no worries for us)
- Stacey was very much on point and very warm to speak with
Things we (not so) liked:
- Dirty sock on the floor in the second bedroom
- Carpet is less to be desired (good thing we brought hotel slippers)
- Odor emanating from the sink
- Fridge had an odor too but we cleaned it
- Apple TV Remote battery died
- 2nd room where the master is, is small
To the property management, I'm hoping that you would take this review with a grain of salt. You have a wonderful property that needs better TLC. Thank you.
- Thomas (10/5): - This place was awesome! The perfect little mountain cabin in the woods. Nothing big and crazy but just enough to be Comfy and cozy. The Jacuzzi in the back was the best feature. Was nice and hot making an awesome experience to relax in as the snow was falling! The bed was very very comfortable and I slept soundly through the night. Stacey, who texts you directions for check-in, is very nice and always makes us feel welcomed. This is my second time booking one of their properties and I will definitely book again!
