• Hubert H (9/5): - Alles war/ist in einem sehr gepflegten sauberen Zustand gehalten, die Zimmer sind in typischem Lodge/ Farmhous Stil, etwas überladen, aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer ist üppig eingerichtet, groß und war ebenfalls sehr sauber. Der Pool ist eher etwas klein ausgefallen, kann man rein sitzen, nicht mehr! Aus dem Frühstücksraum hat man einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf den Strand Richtung Sommerset und Helderberg. Für Vegetarier ist das mit dem Frühstück in ZA eher allgemein etwas bescheiden, aber Toastbrot und Omelett gibt es immer und letzteres war hier auch sehr lecker. Direkte Strandlage wäre natürlich schöner gewesen als 2.Reihe an der Straße, aber ein schöner Strandabschnitt ist fußläufig zu erreichen.

• Janine (10/5): Awesome place to stay with amazing breakfast - Stunning, spacious and clean room. The bath in the bathroom was an added bonus and there was enough space in the bathroom to shower or bath. The bed was extremely comfortable after a long drive. The staff were extremely kind and the breakfast was amazing. Thank you 🙏 for excellent hospitality.

• Jennifer (10/5): Convenient location and friendly staff! - Great location less than 5 minutes walk to old harbour and Thirsty Oyster pub! Nice friendly staff and a good breakfast included in the room rate. Also a nice view of the ocean from the communal area, with a bar and small plunge pool.

Perfect for older people in their 50s upwards Not for young people who wants to host a little party. We had to end my brother’s bachelor night around 11:30pm cause other guests complaining about our group chatting too loud. If you planning on doing a little party, braai, drinks etc, then do not bother going here. But it’s a great place for elderly people.

• Bwalya (10/5): Exceptional - The hospitality and open armed friendliness was top rate. Home away from home. Very very beautifully decorated in excellent taste. Absolutely loved it. Please note that I will definitely come again to this excellent lodge but and the distance from Cape Town I could live with, it is just not clear on booking.com that the distance is from Gordon Bay Centre and not Cape Town centre. So some uber/bolt (taxi app) did not want to drive there from the city center in the late night and it took a while to find a ride in. Use the host and staff to help you by phoning their guy, and all will be well and good. The lodge is good value which compensates for the price of the taxi and the days you need to chill in the area, Gordon's Bay lodge area is truly calm, reenergizing, excellent and breathtakingly gorgeous and the lodge itself is top notch.. I will most certainly come again.
• Burn (7/5): it completely met expectations - Everything was neat , clean , tidy and comfortable. I didn't stay for breakfast, cannot comment. The water volume in the shower, with both taps fully open, was so weak that it was difficult to get wet!
• Helena (10/5): Exceptional - The view is amazing. Location very central for running, walking, swimming, dinning and a sundowner either at a restaurant or at Gordon's Beach lodge. The host Peet made us feel like we are part of the family. He specially did a Kabeljou for us on the braai. His wife Tanya made very nice side dishes too. The rest of the staff consist of one girl who really go above and beyond like Peet. In between loadshedding making breakfast and coffee. Rooms are big with everything one needs. From a welcome sherry to candles in the bathroom.

• Marie (8/5): Near heaven by the sea - The idyllic location with amazing view on a beautiful sandy beach. The spaciousness and comfort of the room. The bathroom with huge bath as well as powerful shower. The decor. The ability to warm up my own meals. The friendliness and helpfulness of manager and staff. I felt safe and peaceful for the first 4 nights. Unfortunately my last night was disturbed by a lot of coming and going with loud voices right outside my room, and at one point, someone trying to open my door! I would suggest asking all guests to respect other guests' need for rest.

• Andrew (3/5): Strange atmosphere, no communication, and misrepresented facilities which led us to leave early. - The room was clean and comfortable and the lodge is close to both beaches. The facilities advertised are inaccurate. There's just one tiny plunge pool (rather than the many pool facilities listed) and no pool bar as described. The management live on the property and dominate the shared space and it was uncomfortable to be there. They have children who were playing football in said shared space. The check in experience was probably the worst I've ever had. No one answered the bell and we had to ring. When the gate was unlocked (after about 15 minutes) we walked up to reception and there was no one to greet us again. After about 5 more minutes a man arrived and asked what room we were staying in. We told him we were waiting to check in and he didn't greet us or anything. He had a child get us a key for a room, but we weren't told which room it was for or anything about the guest house and the facilities they have. Very strange and unwelcoming/unsettling experience. We left after 1 night even though we had paid for 2.
• Edmonds (2/5): Never again - SO sad - The view in the dining room The bathroom was lovely The bedroom was nicely decorated 1. Family of the owners live there. They made noise and took over the facilities. I felt like I was intruding on their privacy as a paying guest. Their kids bounced the noisy soccer ball SO MUCH OF THE TIME. Fowl language in front of their own kids of which I heard from my room. The management knocked on my door far too often. I had NO PEACE. Management walked around in swimming costume with a towel. The guests couldn't get near the little pool. Loud music. 2. No value for money with the breakfast 3. Management told me far too much about her stepmother, father, etc etc. Very unprofessional 4. Clearly need more training in hospitality 5. A waste of my money 6 Before doing this review I gave the owner a chance to apologize or comment - she didn't bother to reply. 7. After that I stayed at another guesthouse very near by. People in the area are certainly talking about the terrible experiences at THIS guest house It's SUCH A PITY. SOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL. SO SAD
