Guest Reviews
- Elio (5/5): - Reasonable price for what you got There were no cups for coffee or tea
- David (10/5): - Great facilities in a remote location Not much. It was pretty good.
- Cameron (7/5): -
- Tim (1/5): Not fit for occupancy - Nothing it was in the process of being demolished There was holes in the walls and even feral cats in the room which run into a hole in the wall to escape
- Floyd (6/5): - The privacy away from the main area because of my condition. No microwave and data reception was terrible unfortunately.
- McLean (5/5): It was ok, great staff but the place doesnât present well, surrounds untidy - The staff were great and the fact that there was a bar and restaurant on site was good. The food at the restaurant was excellent. It presented very poorly, there was rubbish lying around and weeds, it looked very disheveled and put my wife off the whole idea of staying there. Finding Reception was a little confusing owing to poor signage.

- Tracy (6/5): Trying - Ok Nil
- kenneth (5/5): Was air conditioned - The air con worked. Its a old building taps fell off in the shower had to screw them back on. Bed wall lights dont work. Dim lighting.
- Takeeta (1/5): - The room hasn't been cleaned the beds haven't been changed there were used cups that haven't been washed used towels left on floor, It was disgusting đ paid for the room and didn't get a chance to sleep in it. Manager need to have a word with the cleaners and refund me back my money đ°
- Suzanne (1/5): - The smoke alarm went off 3 times during the night, 0230, 0300, 0415. There were puddles of water around the bed. The food was inedible.
- Rocco (9/5): -
- Tanya (5/5): - The location Rude staff
- Melissa (5/5): -
- Sonnette (1/5): Worst place I've ever stayed at. - Nothing really. Did not have a good experience. At check in I asked the staff if there were any towels, staff told me yes there are towels. But when I got to my room, there was no towels, the room look like it hadn't been cleaned properly. I wasn't happy at all with my experience staying at this place.
- Norbert (1/5): Einfach nur schlecht! - Nichts!

- Darren (2/5): - Staff The room was very bad they are run down and in bad cleanliness. The TV did not even work
- Ben (6/5): -

- Teeka (1/5): -
- Martine (5/5): Welcoming, handy for a quick delicious meal and adequate for the price - Friendly and helpful staff
LOVELY meal at the bar
clean and comfortable enough for the price facilities minimalist and the walls are very thin - we listened to a loooong conversation the person next door was having on the phone( speaker on) then had him snoring all night - suggest maybe spreading people out when the hotel is not fully occupied
Couldnât make the TV work
- Karenjean (5/5): Good for a quick overnight trip - Great location & a great aircon to cool the room down fast, small & cosy room The TV kept turning itself off
- Tania (3/5): It gave us a roof over our head nothing more. - the staff were great.
TV worked
Air con worked The place was not clean properly.
The hot water was warm not hot.
No water pressure from basin tap.
We had to fill the kettle from the shower or wait a few mins.
No smoke detector.
No outside seating or shaded areas.
- ANDREW (8/5): - Staff have no eye for detail and not much experience with customer service. Lunch was very nice.
- Joshua (8/5): - I really enjoyed staying was a good hospitality understandable stuff.
- Alex (4/5): - We had two rooms at this property. The property is very old and requires repairs; holes in walls, peeling paint, broken tiles, broken bathroom fixtures. Blood on the wall in one room. Beds old and not in great condition. Shower drain blocked in one of our two rooms.
Bedding and linen clean and fresh. Water was hot.
Very limited options in Derby.
- Christine (10/5): - The rooms are old, but clean and very helpful staff. My only complaint is the lack of working dryers and washing machines.
- Kevin (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sharee (4/5): Disappointing -
- Martin (5/5): Passable - Facilities in room good for price - Aircon fridge, TV etc. food in restaurant decent. Staff good guy on reception was very helpful. You're basically staying in a porta cabin on what feels like a building site. Hope the people in the next room are quiet because the walls are paper thin. Not very clean. Toilet leaked. Nothing else available in Derby otherwise we'd have spent a little more to at least feel comfortable.
- Travellers (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (6/5): Pleasant - I think the price is too high for what you get but maybe that is the deal in the outback
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Thomson (8/5): Very good -
- Natalia (4/5): Good enough for only 1 night, too basic, just a roof and toilet. - Army container type of room, paper thin walls and sparsely fitted. Manager was very vague with her directions to find a chip and chips.
- Sue (1/5): Bad -
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant -
- Colin (5/5): Derby - Location, service and security. No chair or table but had room for it, unit entry door large holes under doo , floors sticky and dirty and smoke alarm had battery going flat and beeping but was fixed by removing smoke alarm.
- Simon (3/5): Awfully - The walls were too thin we had a party next door until 3:30am why do you put people in rooms next to each other when the place is nearly empty. No sleep because of a party next door
- Bernie (7/5): Value for money - Value for money.
People paying 100 bucks, then complain that it is not the Hilton.
For the money, it was a great stay. If you have someone next door, not good.
Walls are so thin that you think they are in your room. You can hear every word, toilet, shower etc. We stayed 2 nights. First night was not good. Next door were talking until 1.30am. I went over twice and argued with them. Second night we had nobody there, and it was good
- Thi (7/5): Good - The bathroom
- Dennis (6/5): Pleasant - Very friendly and obliging staff all ok
- Andrew (3/5): Needs a LOT of maintenance. - Toilet seat loose, shower rose broken squirted water everywhere, sink stained & delapidated. Walls paper thin. Bloke next door watched tv till midnight and the sound was clear as a bell.
- Dilip (5/5): Passable -
- Peter (5/5): thin walls + TV on next door = almost no sleep - Reception was friendly. The room had a nice welcome note, an ensuite and air conditioning, provided soap and shampoo, a comfortable enough bed, and a TV. It could have been good value. The rooms seem to be transportable worker's huts, and the walls are really thin with no apparent sound proofing. Which wouldn't have been a problem except the person in the room had the TV on quite loud ALL NIGHT! I had probably the worst night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel. If you're going to have paper-thin walls and TVs, maybe you need to have the TVs automatically turn off at midnight.
- Saunders (5/5): It was adequate. - The room was old and worn out.
- Sarah (3/5): Very dirty & poor facilities, do not recommend - Laundry facilities were affordable but barely operational Very poor facilities. Our room was dirty, the fridge was warm and dirty, leaking a strange brown liquid and the roof was severely damaged, with a big crack in the roof and peeling paint.
Do not recommend staying here unless on a tight budget.
- Diiandra (3/5): Okay - Central location Door didnât lock was very risky also had 3 people and only gave 1 towel.
- Leanne (5/5): It will go down in our history as the worst hotel we have ever stayed at - The staff were amazing, being able to have our camper secure whilst staying overnight at the Horizontal falls was great. The rooms were dirty, the toilet water came to the rim of the bowl, it took several times to get used to it, the door had clearly been broken into and not fixed, we didnât feel secure, there was a dirty sock behind the bedside tables.
We had booked three nights, one of which we were staying on the horizontal falls, however was happy due to being gated for our camper, we elected not too stay the last night as our camper was nicer and we felt safer. We could not fault the front of house staff though they were fabulous. We didnât have the heart to tell them how we felt.
- Ken (7/5): Filled a need - good value - It was pretty basic but clean and showers were good. Room would not properly lock.
- Venafro (7/5): Good -
- Noeline (5/5): Passable - The hotel attached had great meals. Air conditioning good in room. The front door had holes in it. No plates or cutlery. TV did not work and out of the 3 lights only one worked. No chairs, had to sit on bed all the time.
- Alyssa (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing Everything
- N (6/5): Basic clean comfortable place to stay whilst passing through Derby - Fast efficient booking and availability -
- Colleen (7/5): Good - Secure parking, Restaurant, No bath mat, very small hand basin, two chairs inside would be good.
- Chloe (6/5): Good accommodation not the Taj Mahal but acceptable - Cheap enough and clean Very noisy to sleep
- Elsa (5/5): Reasonably priced accommodation for Derby - It is basic accommodation in worker style dongas and value for money wrt the other available options but is a little overpriced for the std of accommodation per se. No other reasonable budget accomm in Derby that I was aware of.
However, the shower is hot, the towels and bedding clean and lovely toiletries provided. There is a TV and aircon, kettle, tea and coffee and basic utensils provided. Could be much improved if there were trees/garden around the accommodation.
Non-smoking is great!!! There were cracks and old permanent marks on walls and cabinets - needs a repaint. Short-term worker/budget accommodation really..
Reception closed on Sun & Mon die to WA liquor restrictions - should be advertised as such or have a self-check-in facility as some budget backpacker in Mparntwe/Alice Springs do.
- Brehanna (8/5): Very good -
- Brehanna (9/5): Superb -
- Robyn (7/5): Good -
- Rod (2/5): Very poor -
- Rod (4/5): Disappointing - The rooms were dirty and the television didn't work. No crockery or cutlery supplied. Drain in toilet area blocked with water seeping up from floor drain hole. We booked a deluxe room, no service supplied for a three night stay. Staff members staying in the room next door after their shifts, were partying until after midnight.
- Jennifer (7/5): Suited our purpose of one night in Derby - Availability Nil
- Ellie (8/5): Very good - Spacious clean and comfortable room. Same for the bathroom. Staff super friendly.
- Diane (5/5): Passable safe overnight accommodation - The location felt secure and close to attractions There was a large stain on the floor, perhaps an inconsiderate person had walked in muddy shoes and not quickly cleaned the area or it was mould/mould stains or water stains. The ceiling was cracked and paint/fibro strips hanging from the ceiling. I understand that leaks occur, or customers sometimes damage the property, however I believe that customers should be advised on the condition of the room, efforts made to render the situation and not be shocked on arrival. The bowl appeared dirty and the towel laying underneath appeared to have mould (or perhaps stain). The staff member at reception could not provide any information about attractions, and I know this is not their role but it adds more value to the service, especially when everything is closed on Sundays.
- Clerty64 (8/5): Very good - A band played Saturday night. The place was jumping, and the band awesome.
I had dinner in the hotel. Big portion, well presented, very tasty.
- Larissa (2/5): A stay at Derby jail wouldâve been more luxurious - The staff were friendly The room was dirty with greasy floors and the air conditioning and tv were broken and the door did not lock properly. The main security gate was broken and remained wide open. It is not a hotel it is a scam
- Bruce (7/5): Good -
- Louise (1/5): Shabby, uninspiring and probably one of Derbyâs most rundown inn. Book if you are desperate. - The staff very friendly in reception and the pub. Run down building facilities, car par, shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom. Sink had burn marks or looked unclean. Floors greasy and sandy, Paper thin walls, could hear everybody next door. Doors not secure, hard to lock. Depressing and lacked any effort to make a pleasant stay. Pub filled with drunks and also sadly rundown. It was cheap but we were desperate when a storm in the region hit and the town was booked out else where.
- Julie (7/5): Great place to stay in Derby - The staff were so accommodating, helpful and friendly.
Aircon and comfortable beds. Very clean. No internal table or chairs. Some things were run down.
- Mark (8/5): I would stay there any time - The staff and meals were fantastic.
