Guest Reviews
- Nicole (10/5): Excellent!
- Julia (10/5): A memorable stay in an incredible location. - A wonderful staff at Maroc Lodge. Bruno and everyone who works at the lodge were the perfect hosts. The location is perfect, and Bruno put us in touch with a local guide, Latifa, who took us on the most incredible mountain hike. The villa was excellent. Good WiFi, very clean, and every detail attended to. Best food we had during our time in Morroco. Asmi made lovely dinners and breakfasts. If we came to the region again - we’d definitely stay again, for longer!
- Maren (9/5): - A paradise !!! Thank you . Perfectly clean, a beautiful garden, super interesting history , in this area I would not sleep anywhere else.
- Crispin (10/5): Wonderful relaxing time with friendly non-intrusive staff that made for a wonderful stay - Serene location and gardens. Pool in a lovely spot with mountains.
Food excellent and very welcoming host Bruno It was just perfect
- Marianna (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Maroc Lodge and would highly recommend it for short or longer stays! We could only stay for one night and we were very sad to leave. Bruno was so kind and welcoming on arrival, and we loved hearing about the history of the lodge. It really is a retreat - the whole environment is peaceful and beautiful, with stunning views across the mountains. The garden is magnificent and the outdoor areas are lovely for reading, swimming in the pool, or having a meal on the terrace. The 'rooms' are in fact spacious lodges, tastefully furnished and extremely comfortable. All of the staff were lovely and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting Bruno. Thank you for a great stay, we hope to be back soon!
- solange (10/5): -
- Karl (10/5): - This place feels like home, without being a home. The staff was unreal sweet and the owner Bruno was so kind!
- Pedro (10/5): We can't wait to be back - Maroc Lodge is perfect. This sort of place doesn't exist anymore, it is a true utopian retreat. We didn't want to leave. We can't wait to come back. We were very well taken care of, from the owner to the gardener, everyone so kind and attentive. The food was excellent, the best lamb tagine we've had in Morocco. Marrakesh is just 45m away and it is so worth-it staying out of town, we felt privileged for being able to visit it while staying outside, in a true Oasis. Nothing at all.
- Anna (9/5): A special place - A unique place to stay, villa's with antique furniture, quiet, beautiful garden, but still close to town. Dinner and wine was excellent although a bit pricy for Morocco. Very friendly helpful staff. The rooms were very clean. Definitely visit the village of Amizmiz as well, it has several nice places for a coffee or something to eat
- Julia (10/5): Just wonderful! - Our week at Maroc Lodge was one of the best weeks ever, we were made to feel so welcome and cared for. The attention to detail, the wonderful stories from our host Bruno, the comfortable and beautiful accommodation in such a stunning garden and location, Lubna's incredible cooking, meeting Latifa and going on some incredible hikes into the mountains I don't think we can recommend this enough and we'll never forget this. Thank you so much to you all!!!
- Rachel (10/5): A piece of paradise and tranquility - The peace, the people, the mountain view, the fact that we could have delicious meals brought to our room, the gardens. The pool was too cold (but it is winter in Morocco!)
- Anna (10/5): We will come - I had an absolutely incredible stay at this mountain lodge in Morocco! The location is breathtaking, surrounded by peaceful nature and stunning views that make you feel instantly relaxed. The lodge itself is beautifully designed, cozy, and spotless — the perfect place to unwind after exploring the area.
What truly made the experience exceptional were the owners. They are incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like family, always ready to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality added a special touch that made my stay unforgettable.
I highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for tranquility, comfort, and outstanding hospitality. I can’t wait to come back! -
- Jane (9/5): Lovely, relaxing stay with good hiking nearby. - Lovely views and pool, property was spacious and comfortable. Bruno looked after us well, booking taxis and a brilliant mountain guide, Mouad. Fantastic location for hikes, visiting the souk. We were the only tourists in town. It would have been helpful to have information about how to order food and drink/what was available /costs of meals etc. Mix up with our bill at the end but all got sorted.
- Lisa (10/5): - Bruno and the team we were wonderful, Maroc Lodge is a stunning, peaceful place with a beautiful garden and fabulous pool. The food was great too.
- Mark (9/5): Fabulous to visit for a couple of days downtime if you like peace and tranquility. - Breakfast is served on your balcony, fabulous views and Summer morning air. They accommodated all of our needs (we are vegetarian) and bring at the time you ask. Super nice!!! The owner takes a personal interest and set us up with a mountain guide. Meals are cooked to order, we were the only couple there at the time so it was like having our own staff, fabulous!! If you want intimate and romantic we recommend this accommodation. Of course its in the hills, so if you're expecting many things to do other than relax or mountain walks then not much to do. Can be very quite after dinner (we were the only couple staying there) so you need to take some board games or the like as your own entertainment.
- Alun (10/5): You are a guest in someone’s country home.so much more than a mere hotel. - The owner is wonderful and a living connection to Morocco’s journey to independence. The location is truly sublime, the staff efficient friendly and helpful. This place is a guest house in the true sense. You feel a guest, as if you are invited to someone’s country home for the weekend. As you stay a few days - is worthy of at least 3, we stayed 6, you slip into a world of peace and gentility of times gone by and lost in the west. Ahmed is a talented chef. He asked what we liked then delivered wonderful meals. Local food done well - Tagline, Couscous and other dishes when we asked. Navarine of Lamb with Dauphinois potato and a chocolate torte. Wonderful. It felt like he was our chef. There was nothing that I didn’t like. This place is truly special and so much more than a hotel.
- Alexandra (7/5): Good -
- Gilly (9/5): An oasis after a hectic 3 week tour round Morocco - The staff made sure that our comfort was maximised. The peaceful gardens are welcome after mad Marrakech. There is a sad contrast of the quiet hotel and the recent earthquake and the destruction it caused locally. The population of Amizmiz are remarkable.
The room is comfortable, fabulous copper basins and shower with a large sitting room and view over to the High Atlas Mountains. The pool is beautiful. Achmed produced the best food we ate over 3 weeks in Morocco. There is a lot of walking at any level you wish. The pool is cold but there is snow on the mountains!!!
The rubbish on the road to the hotel is a result of the population having to live in temporary accommodation: mostly tents.
- James (10/5): A perfect stay at a very high quality establishment with a helpful owner and friendly professional staff. We are truely - The lodges are situated in a large beautifully tended garden with plenty of space between them. The garden is magical with pretty stone paths leading from one area to another and features hundreds of beautiful local plants and flowers. The lodge we stayed in was wonderfully spacious with beautiful unique furniture and the most enormous and comfortable bed. The views from the bedroom and the huge living room were framed by the garden and were of the pool, mountains and the valley below. The lodge was spotlessly clean as was the shared infinity pool. Bruno the owner could not have been more helpful, in particular putting us in touch with a local guide for an unforgettable walk up the mountain. The staff were helpful and professional. In particular the amazing chef who conjured up a variety of meals especially for us (we are vegetarian) which would have suited the finest Parisian restaurant. We will return! There is nothing we did not like about the property.
- Hilary (10/5): Perfect for a couple of days escape - It was in a lovely position close to the mountains with very comfortable and spacious rooms. Beautiful swimming pool, very quiet and lovely staff. Excellent local food. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): A week in Amizmiz - Peaceful, tranquil, very comfortable, simple food well cooked. The air is full of bird song. It is a perfect place to sit and read.
If you want to explore all the advice you will ever need is right there in the form of Bruno who's home this has been for many years.
I thought Maroc Lodge was a truly wonderful place. Nothing.
- Nigel (10/5): Perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries. - We cannot recommend this place highly enough - the setting is perfect with a small number of lodges based around a pool overlooking the mountains. Bertrand, the owner was a perfect host giving us the history of his families involvement since buying the site as a holiday home in the 1930’s. Delicious dinner by a log fire, the food and staff are excellent. We booked as our final stay in a road trip around Morocco, as it is about 1 hour from Maraketch airport, wish we had more time here. Highly recommended for a short sunny break or as a stop-off for wider travel in the area. Thankyou! Nothing
- Lucie (10/5): Beautiful property and amazing team - Maroc Lodge is a very special place. Bruno and his team go out of their way to make you feel at home. We had the pleasure of chatting with Bruno over a pre-dinner drink and learning about his family’s fascinating history. The whole place is beautiful and the food is delicious. We enjoyed a very relaxing few days. There is nothing to dislike about the property at all. It is wonderful and amazingly not at all impacted by the earthquake. Sadly, the villages surrounding it were not so fortunate and, as other reviews say, it was devastating to the community. I would still recommend people to visit, as the lodge is a focal point of the community and will be vital in supporting the rebuilding of it.
- Steven (10/5): A fantastic stay in beautiful accommodation - Amazing place to stay. Fantastic lodges in a beautiful setting.
Owner helped arrange a wonderful and enlightening tour in the valley
The damage cause by the earthquake (not to Maroc Lodge itself which was unaffected) was immense but the villagers were amazing in their response.
- Jane (10/5): Calm & cosy - Everything was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious, laid out each morning for us at the time requested the night before. The food was the best we had throughout our trip to Morocco (where we also had a further 6 nights in Marrakech). All the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The lodge we stayed in was comfortable and cozy - perfect for summer or winter. The pool was tranquil with a gorgeous view toward the mountains. I will definitely stay here again. N/a
- Philippa (10/5): I am already planning on coming back next year. - Maroc Lodge is an incredibly special family-run hotel in the Atlas Mountains. It offers everything I could think of: scenic views, delicious home-cooked food, spacious and comfortable rooms, and beautiful gardens. Owner Bruno has created something very unique here and the kindness of he and his team make it a memorable stay.
- Jiayue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (9/5): It was fabulous - Everything Nothing
- Robert (10/5): A wonderful oasis to rest, swim and eat amazing food - Everything! Really couldn’t fault anything! Bruno and his team were just fantastic. A jewel on the edge of the mountains! Nothing
- Trudie (10/5): Exceptional - Bruno and his team where the most wonderful hosts and looked after us so well. It’s a wonderful and very special place
- Ludwig (10/5): A little paradise - one of the most beautiful, peaceful and friendly places we've been - Well kept gardens, more like a botanical garden, with views to the mountains
Refreshing pool
Bruno and his team, and Latifa who guided us insightful through the nearby valleys in the Atlas mountains
Dinner on the terrace next to an open fireplace (delightful menu different every day - not á la carte, just ask what's planned)
Don't expect an anonymous hotel - experience a place full of history and feel like being a family guest
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Beautiful garden, view of the mountain and attention to detail. Bruno and staff went over and above to make us feel at home.
- Jacqueline (10/5): a wonderful, superb gem - the location, the ambience, the style and decor of the place. the staff and the charming owner Bruno. don't hesitate, go.
- Knud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Beautiful location and a charming host -
- Daniel (10/5): Fabulous. - The breakfasts are delicious, everything is fresh and locally grown. In fact, all the meals were terrific. The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. Our host Bruno was a true gentleman and and a superb resource for local history and events. Nothing could have been better.
- Numan (10/5): Beautiful kasbah near Agadir Airport. It seems you are in a middle of an oasis. - Amazing kasbah near the airport. Wonderful decoration and facilities. The room was fantastic and big. The staff just amazing. Dinner and breakfast so nice. The girl at the reception makes you feel you are in home. Some disturbing noises outside the hotel. The pool was not finished.
- Jules (8/5): Maroc Lodge has a very individual history and our stay was extremely relaxing. - The views from the swimming pool are excellent and the individual lodges are superb. The staff and Bruno, the owner, could not do enough in their attempt to make us happy at the hotel even serving breakfast and dinner on our terrace. I was expecting more of an actual restaurant at the hotel where they have a menu. We had to ask for dinner in advance and tell them what we would like to eat but we found it a little difficult to specify when we have no knowledge of the food they have to cook.
We loved the colonial decor in the lodges themselves but felt that some of the outside furniture was a little old and tatty.
