Guest Reviews
- Rupert (10/5): Affordable and lovely - Clean room, friendly staff, great bar, close to train station and a fair price!
- David (10/5): - This is 5 minutes from the train station & 5 minutes to the center of town. Be aware the bathroom & shower are down the hall and shared, if that is a concern. Very comfortable bed, hot water carafe, nice window view, attached to a great restaurant. Thanks!
- Mehmet onur (2/5): - odalar küçük, tuvalet yok.
- Daniela Carina (10/5): - Very nice
- William (6/5): - Goede ligging
- Lorraine (8/5): Would recommend for a few nights - It is a nice hotel, very old but looks the business and really reflect some stinking architecture. It’s quite basic but the beds were comfortable and facilities were good, including being clean.
- Nigel (10/5): - Good breakfast, clean room
- andre (8/5): - Good location. Clean room and clean toilet and facilities including free coffeemaking. Helpful caretakers. Only probkem was noone around before 9 am for checkout unless you just need to drop the keys. They provided free luggage storage in a secure room.
- Rosemarie (6/5): - Walls were dirty, no ac and the restaurant/bar was underneath so it was hard to keep the window open. No soaps in the bathrooms.
- David (6/5): - Property was great!
- Kenan (4/5): - I am not sure how this property can get hire than 2-star rating. first of all, it is not hotel, it is hostel with seprate rooms and shared bathroom and restroom with no no soap, no shower gel.
Hotel even does not have a name written on it. So you wonder around to find it. No reception and the property is run by waiters from the bar next to it, which you will stay and wait for any of them to get free to answer your question.
- Juliet (8/5): - Staff were friendly and all spoke English and French. The Ukrainian manager(?) was extremely helpful in retrieving a lost item for us. The room was basic but clean and the beds were comfortable so it was absolutely fine for our one night stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Did the job and you get what you paid for. Great location. The rooms are quite dated but perfect for staying a night or 2. No complaints
- jamie (10/5): - What a neat wee hotel.
The owner was great and very helpful and friendly.
Its only a couple of minutes away from the train station and within walking distance to everything u want to see in the historic old town of Bruges.
- Douglas (10/5): Excellent location and service - A classic B&B in Brugge delivering what you expect from this sort of establishment.
Great and cordial service, clean, comfortable and with a great location.
Even though they don't offer breakfast, you want to explore what the city has to offer for starting the day.
- Brendan (4/5): - Hotel i nice. Old but charming. The main guy checking me in was nice but you could tell he was overworked.
Everything to do with this place is confusing. Its spread across 2-3 properties. You have to go to the bar on the corner next door to check in. The bar has different branding than the hotel so its confusing.
The room was all I needed for one person. No AC which makes sense because its an old building, but all they give you is a tiny little desk fan. Shared bathrooms which is whatever. They were clean enough.
The two big problems that I had were as follows:
1) Your room keys are old keys. And it was mentioned that they're all "master keys", which didn't boad well for security. The locks in the rooms are really old and a major issue because then you have to mess with the key and lock for it to be able to lock and unlock. So you have to decide whether to sit there for 15 minutes trying to unlock the door from the inside, or leave the door unlocked overnight. Wasn't fun.
2) Check out. Checking out, the sign on the door in the hallway instructs you to either give the key to the hotel/restaurant next door, or hang the key up on the hook next to the door. Wanting to make sure they got the key, I went to the hotel next door where I was met by a confused employee there who said the properties wernt related and that it wasn't there key. Just to top off a bit of a frustrating stay.
In conclusion, it was £78 for the night which isnt terrible but just overall a frustrating experience
- Shannon (10/5): - Of course it's primitive for this budget, but it's clean, super cute exterior of the building, which people are constantly taking pictures of.
- Philip (10/5): Bruges 12 May - Nice pleasant hotel
- Stefanno (10/5): Nice stay in Bruges - I liked the hotel, clean and tidy, the owner showed me the services very well, he was kind and invited us complimentary potatoes, he allowed me to use his microwave to heat my food, I liked the attention, I recommend it 10/10
- Toine (6/5): - Goede prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding vlakbij centrum Brugge. Niet luxe of uitzonderlijk. Gedeelde wc en badkamer.
- Aysun (10/5): - Alles bestens, fußläufig erreichbar, Frühstück super. Wir kommen wieder. Danke
- Melissa (10/5): - Super goed gelegen
- Barry (6/5): - Very basic room and no tv
- Daniela (2/5): - First of all, the description of the hotel doesn’t mention about the bathroom being shared, you have to get out of the room to be able to go to the bathroom and shower. Secondly, we had the breakfast included in our reservation and when we showed up, there was no breakfast and also no one to ask to, we did go between the time they said (8:30 to 10:00). :(
- Paulina (10/5): Excelente!
- francesco luca (8/5): Carino, ma molto ds migliorare - Struttura molto basica, canere carine ma poco curate.
Bagni comuni sporchi.
- Simone (6/5): - Warm welcome and the room was clean and nice, as well as the shared bathroom and toilet. However, the hotel is located next to a restaurant. They made a lot of noice. Also, it was extremely hot in the room, but there was no airco. The windows could open which meant a night with the mosquitos. All together, we didn’t have a good night sleep.
- Anna (6/5): Sehr einfaches, Okay Hotel ... Beide Räume ohne Fenster, was unangenehm war.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - If though, the hotel is having renovation, the room are sparkling clean, small and yet cosy. Near the train station and others amenities. The breakfast is simple but awesome! Recommend to others who want to stay near the train station
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Sadly not the best place. Cigarette burns on the sheets and broken tap in the bathroom. Not the best exprerience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is within walking distance of where the Christmas market is and all the shops.
- Bethanie (2/5): Disappointing - I’m genuinely surprised this hotel has had decent reviews. The staff were rude, the decor was outdated, and my bedsheet had a hole in it.
The smell of the hotel was horrible. It smelled damp and stale- I have no idea what it was but it was not good! We were told we could check in at 2pm and when we came to check in, we were told we couldn’t check in until 2:30pm.
There were a couple of things that did not make sense- for instance a kettle was provided but nothing else- no mugs, spoons or tea/coffee.
I’m not a massive complainer (I swear) and rarely leave bad reviews but this is genuinely one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. My friend and I spoke to a couple of other groups staying in the hotel and we were all of the consensus that it was an awful stay.
The bed itself was comfortable and the location was great- 5 minutes to the main station and only 10 to the centre, but these things don’t even come close to making up for the negatives.I cannot believe we paid €80 for this room- it was not like the photos and was not worth even half of what we paid.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very oldish hotel and room furnitures..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, old building but well take care of.
- Rogerio (10/5): - Lovely atmosphere, well located, great breakfast, lovely staff, everything went nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Restaurant on corner connected to hotel served amazing food and staff looked after us in front of other waiting customers. Beautiful food!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I don't mind the toilet and showers being located separately (with the shower being tiny); I don't mind the room not having a TV; I don't mind the room having only one power outlet; I even don't mind the lack of A/C - but the one thing I can't stand, in 2019, is painfully slow WiFi Internet. The Internet speed was often less than 1 Mbps - 1990s quality; unacceptable in 2019!
- ivan Ernesto Roa (6/5): Location, Location, Location - Ok, this Hotel is beautiful and is very well located but, the service is very poor or sometimes inexistent, the only person who cared was a woman called Hannah, the others one look at you like you are begging, the other was useless, we were staying in this hotel but breakfast is in the hotel next door, and we saw that some people left the cases when they check out and there was an space for that we asked this lady and she say no, we should left the case in our hotel, (BTW this hotel is completely empty there are no people working in that hotel everything is through the bar or the hotel next door. Anyway I was not going to left my case there, No way. but we love the hotel is very authentic no frills, my advice for you bring your own toiletries, for the management repair, I don't mind to eat and drink in a broken cup or plate but need repair certain things.
Definitively, recommend to stay no tv, shared bathroom, toilet no matter bruges is to explore no need for that.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 2 minute walk from the train station. Close to great restuarants and tourist sites. Good breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): - old fashioned but clean. value for what you pay. close to city center safe area lot of restaurants and pub
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Quaint, clean and cute property in a terrific location. Close to transit and easily within walking distance of all sites in Brugge
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent staff ,great location and good price i recommend that .
- Frank (8/5): Great location within the old city - Nice hotel in the old town and just five minutes walking from the bus and train station. Lovely hotel with excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome place right at the entrance of the historic part of Bruges. And best part just across the street from the Train Station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our room (#6 on the second floor) wasn't really big enough for two people but this was compensated for by the excellent breakfast, competitive price, cleanliness and friendly staff. The location: very close to the station, just on the edge of the old town meant it wasn't necessary for us to drag our bags over the cobbles to get there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice breakfast, friendly staff, located in the historic area, walking distance (4-5 min) to the station.
- James (10/5): A must stay! Friendly, professional, great value - Unbelievably great!
The hotel is so clean and organised. We'd give the breakfast 20 out of 10... Incredible choice, and so fresh! Worth more than 3 stars!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel had shared shower, toilet and hair dryer facilities for.each floor.
Room had small access door that flapped open and shut with air, and bird could be heard from within the access door early in the morning which was quite unnerving indeed!!
- Christian (4/5): Tiny rooms without any recent renovations. - The rooms are not at all like in the pictures, but rather a super tiny, cramped hostel-style room with barely enough space to put down a suitcase, let alone open it. The hotel seems to be stuck in the 70's.
- jose (10/5): Nice hotel to stay - This is a very good hotel; although the main business is not the hotel but the bar/restaurant, the owners offer a good experience at a reasonable price. The breakfast is really good. The rooms are clean and the bathroom/restroom are well maintained. It is located very close to the train station so is a bit far from downtown but perfect to start the walk. I definitely recommend this place.
- Mary (8/5): - Basic room with toilet and shower down the hall. It was clean and quiet on the back side of the hotel. Breakfast was at the hotel next door and nicely done for a continental breakfast
- Toby (8/5): Perfect Service - Lovely spot. Rooms are good staff are great.
- Lewis (10/5): Good location. Great value for money - Nice basic hotel near rail station in good location to explore Bruges. Good pub next door is run by same owners. Great value for money. Would stay again.
- Alicia (6/5): Okay but read the discription and ☑️ the sheets - This place was okay. It was convenient to get downtown and had free parking which was nice. I may have missed in the description the bit about a shared bathroom and shower with the whole floor (hostel style). Not a huge deal but I wasn’t expecting that. The room was clean and tidy but there was some doubt to the cleanliness of the bedding. Two pillowcases were lightly stained and the sheets of one of the beds had several holes in it on the sleeping surface near our heads. The staff was friendly but when we noticed the holes it was very late and we were very tired so we didn’t mention it to them. We also didn’t stay for breakfast, we left very early, so I can’t rate that portion.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to city center - East to find. Helpful staff. Good off street car parking.
- Julia (8/5): - It is ok. But we have the price in Cad$67, but finally the charge is Euro 67
- Marina (10/5): Very convenient, excellent service - Very friendly staff, had to catch a 6am train in the morning and they offered to leave us breakfast in front of our room so we can eat before we leave. Excellent choice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice basic hotel close to city centre with parking - This hotel was ideal for us - we were breaking a long motorbike journey with a night and day in Bruges, so all we needed was somewhere to sleep and somewhere secure to leave our bikes. It's pretty basic, but clean, comfortable and very cheap for the location, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were able to park our bikes behind the hotel and leave them there after checking out until we were ready to leave, and to leave our luggage in the hotel after checking out. The hotel is just inside the central area of Bruges, and the market square and all the attractions are between a ten and twenty minute walk away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Okay hotel. Very basic and needs updating. Only one plug in the room and the bed sheets had holes in.
Great location though.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get for what you pay - Shared toilets and showers are not nice, but everything else is ok.
- Sarena (10/5): Lucky find! - Perfect cute little quiet hotel just steps from the train station and easy to find - so convenient! Yet it's away from the bustle of the main ring road of the train station on a pretty street. Room was great, quiet, comfy bed & pillows, enough space, big sink. Shared toilet & shower down the hall but the hotel only has 7 rooms so there was no issue with availability. Excellent breakfast at their lovely sister restaurant next door. Good location as an anchor to explore Bruges - can be easily found! Glad I found this hotel! Tip: the door lock/key is tricky - ask for a demonstration of how to lock/open the door & try it yourself at check in.. then all will be fine.
- Pauli (8/5): Walking distance from the centre - The hotel was nice, clean and close to all amenities and the centre. The bed very comfy. The only downside was the lack of Aircon or even a fan.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Would recommend it.
- Jo-Ann (8/5): - Stayed another 3 days. Great location. Free parking. Helpful staff who fixed wifi and were friendly. Lovely breakfast.
- Deborah (10/5): Nice bnb. - Nice quiet bnb. Parking in back was helpful inside the center of Bruges.
Breakfast at adjacent restaurant included and was very good.
- Paul (10/5): Beautiful holiday park - The place is beautiful. Location is amazing. Everything is spotless. Staff friendly. No complaints
- Andre (8/5): Convenient location. - No need for more. Quiet location.Free parking. Nice easy stroll to center.Breakfast sufficient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent hotel and perfect staff - It was excellent choice for the two days visit in Bruges, warm friendly welcome the staff absolutely friendly and helpful!
The hotel is very close to the town centre ( 10 min walk)
We could to recommend everyone!
- Plonia (8/5): - The hotel is close walk from the train station and community is full of history to visit. The hotel was quiet and all our needs were met. Especially enjoyed the lovely breakfast.
- Naniek (8/5): Nice hotel, close to city center - Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In general was OK. Good location, not a bad breakfast. What I didn't like was tiny walls, could hear neighbours talking till 2 am.
- Mel (8/5): No frills, comfy bed and quiet room. - Enjoyed our stay, free parking, great location and easy check in/out. Breakfast was nice. Would use again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): More like a great hostel - It's really close to the station which is the best part of this hotel. Fantastic location. Before check-in and after check-out always need to wait for few minutes before someone comes to open the door. Didn't realise that there is no shower and toilet in the room when I booked the room. There are 4 rooms on my floor share a shower and a toilet. It's not the best shower in the world...Water leaks out on the floor which is a bit disgusting for me it's like youth hostel I used to stay. Since I only stayed a night so I didn't take a shower. The hotel is a quite old building so there is a historical smell. Sound prove is not the best, luckily the night I stayed people were all very sensitive. The room is ok the bed and the pillow are the highlight. Very comfortable so despite above, I slept well. Breakfast is ok. Basic stuff.
All in all, it's an ok experience since the price is really competitive so no complain but I will put more money in and stay somewhere better quality next time.
- Marina (2/5): Hotel 't Keizershof - The only good thing about this hotel is its location, there's literally no customer service at all, the only time that I've met the 'receptionist' was the first day that I've arrived where I rang the bell outside the hotel and someone spoke to me over the intercom and opened the door for me a minute later. I've paid for my stay and I was given the town's map and I was told that if I need anything in order to contact them I can either talk to them through the intercom or go to the restaurant on the right of the hotel where they work as well. The breakfast was served at the restaurant on the other side of the hotel and from my understanding they're trying to run all these 3 businesses at the same time with the result no-one being at the hotel at any time. The room I've stayed had some kind of bed bugs that climbed up the wall onto the bed which is a serious hygiene issue. When I wanted to check-out the last day, I've rang the bell to speak with someone and give my keys back where I was told that the check-out is just leaving your keys behind the hotel's main door. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as for the same amount you can stay anywhere else with great customer service and no bugs in the room and the bed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible, just the worst. Small, no bathroom, bed is the worst
- Kristine (8/5): Friendly but dated - Location is great. Breakfast fab ! Staff very friendly. Rooms are dated, So is toilet and shower room.
- Rahul (8/5): Nice Hotel close to the train station - Hotel 't Keizershof is a nice little place very close to teh train station on your way to the town center of Bruges.
I had arrived early and yet the check-in was as smooth as it can be, with very nice staff.
The rooms were also clean and pleasant. You may want to consider that the hotel has a common bathroom for each floor (three rooms on each floor I think), but it wasn't a problem at all as I though it would be.
The morning breakfast is served in the restaurant next door and is very good as well. The staff at the restaurant are also pleasing.
- Olga (6/5): Good for a short stay on a budget - I wasn't too sure about the hotel when I realized the room wasn't an ensuite...but bathroom and toilet were clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value, great location! - The hotel is pretty basic but, for the price, was fine. The staff were really helpful too. We only stayed the one night, a family of four sharing, and we had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast (served at the hotel next door) was lovely. Best thing was the location though: only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Bruges, so we were able to be up and out, enjoying the city before the crowds arrived. If you're on a tight budget and just want somewhere to crash while you enjoy this lovely city, you could do a lot worse than this.
- P C (8/5): Character Stay - Keeping in mind this was a converted house with steep stairs to the second floor bedroom and minimum sound insulation between the rooms. It came with a Comfortable bed. Shared toilet and bathroom was at the end of the hall not alongside the room as I had assumed. Breakfast was spartan but adequate.
- Chadwick (6/5): OK price but not a very comfortable room - Hotel location was great and it was reasonably priced. Beyond that is was not the best. Check in consisted of getting a key from a fellow at a neighbouring restaurant and breakfast was served at a different neighbouring restaurant. We saw no staff at the hotel for the entirety of our three nights stay. The room was quite warm (as to be expected at the time of year) and an unbeatable amount of mosquitoes came in during the night if the windows were left open (likely also a seasonal issue). Neither could be avoided in a place without air conditioning but the trouble was the lack of staff to ask for a fan. Shared bathroom and shower were OK but the sink in the room had a completely broken hot tap and the cold didn't work much better. The room was made up sometime during two of the days we stayed but was skipped on the third. Breakfast was pretty standard. Not the most comfortable three nights but the price was OK for Europe in the early summer. Even so you could likely do better even at the price point.
- Thomas (8/5): Good Location and Breakfast - Good location and breakfast - hotel was not full, so shared bathroom was not a problem.
- Liz (6/5): Budget Hotel. - Basic clean budget hotel with comfortable bed. Good enough for our 1 night stay. Great location and restaurant/bar next door had a lovely garden and good food.
