- Catherine (6/5): Overall a fairly good experience with some shortcomings. - The room was comfortable & the location very good for my purposes. I don’t like paying on arrival - previously I have paid at the end of the stay.
The kettle in the room had such a short lead that it was impossible to plug it in. The staff did supply an extension cable, but the situation should not have arisen.
The staff are very obliging but occasionally seem to be at a loss.
- Karl (8/5): - Great staff, nice bar, great breakfast, 20 minute walk into town. Water was never hot in room 109

- Derek (4/5): Some where to put your head down clean and tidy but needs investment - Breakfast was good staff were polite It’s dated and needs modernisation throughout. Beds were terrible not a good nights sleep the mattresses have well earned there money and need changed. Bathroom while clean and tidy are very dated also. Out side the front entrance is nice but when walking from the carpark there is a pipe from the kitchen spilling grease across the road that you have to walk through just not a good look
- Ali (10/5): -
- John (3/5): Disappointed as this is the second time I’ve had no hot water - Location No hot water. Mattress was knackered and passed its time

- Jessie (7/5): Good stay, comfortable beds, lovely spa - not perfect though. - The rooms needed a refresh and perhaps some wall decor - the smell also in our room was a bit like stale smoke - the breakfast stayed sourdough toast but we didn’t get that - a regular white bread was served which was disappointing - the spa was fab, the comfort of the bed was fab. Pillows were not so good - much too hard. The staff on reception were outstanding!! Overall a comfortable stay & lovely staff esp the cleaners !! The toast !! The smell in bedrooms and some wall decor in rooms would be nice and comfortable pillows
- Imran (9/5): Had a lovely stay , staff were very pleasant and polite , pool and gym facilities were great !! - Excellent staff , helpful always ready to help
- Belinda (7/5): All is fine…. - The swimming pool, not crowded No provided hair dryer in the room.
Waiting too long for the breakfast, hope its a buffet so people who has an errands can pick their food eat quickly and go
- Nathan (6/5): Family stay - Spa facilities were good, breakfast was nice and the reception area was very prsentable beds were actually extremely comfortable. The rest of the hotel including the rooms and the oassageways are in need of renovation. Smells really old. The room was clean but very dated. Cant complain with the price we paid.

- Lucy (6/5): Overnight stay and spa break - The staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was nice and the breakfast was good. The price was very reasonable but you get what you pay for I guess. The hotel was tired and dated, the room was dirty and the carpet hadn't been hoovered and there was crisps everywhere. The spa was very poor, dirty and dated. There were unsafe areas which needed repairing.
It looked like the restaurant and reception area had been kept modern and nice but the rest of the hotel, the rooms, decor and spa need a lot of money spent on them to bring them back to standard
- Steve (3/5): wont stay again and will warn against it to colleagues in the area. - reception. not hot water and excuses to many customers about it, shower broken and not working hot or cold. breakfast poor quality.
- Andrew (8/5): - Met requirements Nothing
- David (9/5): Great place - Convenient
Great food
Staff I stayed in room 125 and there was a fan/air conditioning unit outside that disturbed my sleep.
- Isabelle (8/5): Good pool - The pool Plug sockets
- Nicola (9/5): A lovely hotel, nice staff, comfy beds and lots to do on site Great for a cheap girly break! - We arrived a little early and this was received very well, our room was ready and we were checked in quickly. The entrance is decorated beautifully, the staff were lovely and the amenities were great. We went straight into the restaurant and ordered some food and drinks, the food was nice. Then we went to our room, which was a 3-birth room. It was lovely and had everything we needed. Our beds were comfortable. Later, we went to enjoy the swimming pool and jacuzzi. This was bus when we went to investigate earlier in the afternoon but the member of staff told us it was quieter after 4pm. We went down at 5 and it was much quieter. The following morning, we went for breakfast. There was quite a lot to choose from, so no complaints from us. Overall, a lovely stay which was well worth the price and staff the hotel should be proud of. We would come again. : ) Not really dislikes- we aren't picky and this was a really well priced stay. Some of the corridors are a little dated, some of the carpark is in need of repair and there was no plug next to my bed. Again, this did not bother us much at all, this is just an observation.

- Michelle (3/5): - Waited quite a while to be helped at the spa steam room wasn’t working hydro pool was cold … in the room the water was frezzing couldn’t take a shower or bath was a really disappointing stay told staff next day and there really was oh really ..I’ve messaged the hotel and not had any reply never had a problem with a stay befor this time was really not worth it
- 518hayleyf (8/5): June 2025 Wedding - We had our Wedding at the Parkmore in June 2025. Chloe was really helpful with the planning aspects, and on the day James and Paul did a great job of putting everything in place and hosting our guests. A lot of our guests stayed the night and we had no complaints from them.
The food was lovely.
We chose our own suppliers as we wanted something a bit different, and everything went well - the rooms looked gorgeous.
Of course there were a few hiccups but most things worked out perfectly and nobody noticed! We had tons of fun on our wedding day and it was exactly the day we had hoped for!
The only negatives were that the bridal suite was far too hot! There was a scary moment minutes before walking down the aisle when my make up was melting off and the MUA was past herself! We also had to get to ask for some breakfast bringing up on the morning whilst getting ready, I think it would have been nice to have had that done without having to chase it up - just thought maybe for other weddings.
- 89gillianj (10/5): I would definitely recommend and return. Fabulous service and restaurant food. - The rooms were clean, food excellent and large and the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient.
There was something wrong with the water system so we only had cold water for washing and shower.
- John (3/5): - Old fashioned hotel, small bedrooms, needs renovation
- Phil (8/5): - Na Na
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Rob (7/5): Voor 1 nacht okay - Locatie Kamers en bed
- Aswathy Sivasankaran (7/5): - The swimming pool and jacuzzi were good, and we enjoyed using them. The timings were also reasonable for a short leisure stay. The room was extremely hot throughout the night. One fan was broken, and the ceiling fan switch could not be found at all. Because of this, we could not sleep properly. The television had no channels, so the kids were very bored. We were advised to go to the bar area to watch TV, which is not suitable when staying with children.
- Martin (4/5): Will not be returning - Constant hum from aircon unit outside room - all night!
No plug sockets at bedside.
- Liam (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Very chilled and would go back again - Very clean. excellent staff and facilities, Room was very big and the bed was comfortable All was good
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Gemma (7/5): Young lady on reception was pleasant but the premise and room felt tired. - Parking available on site which was beneficial. The premises felt tired on entering the reception and in need of refurbishment throughout. The bathroom again was tired and the door in the bathroom clearly had not seen varnish for some many years. The room was so very hot that I didn’t manage to get to sleep until gone 3:30am. I felt that the price that I paid was more than what I would have been happy paying now that I have stayed at the property. Sorry, just just giving honest feedback.
- Courtnie (10/5): Absolutely beautiful stay! - Brilliant stay and would defiantly stay again Everything was perfect
- Craig (10/5): -
- Penny (7/5): - Pleasant atmosphere and pleasant staff Bit of a rabbit warren insude and not all sign posts were clear hence we got lost finding our way out 😅
- 664vickyj (10/5): Brilliant lovely place - Absolutely lovely place I took my elderly mum for a spa day it was brilliant nothing was a bother had a lovely massage too from a lady who has her own place in there the afternoon tea was a lovely little extra too well worth a visit will definitely be back
- Gary (10/5): -
- Mark Stephen (10/5): Great hotel and spa - Staff and facilities were excellent
- Paul (6/5): Lovely staff, but the building was cold, and a bit faded. - Good location . Excellent, helpful staff. Cold bedrooms. There appeared to be a problem with the heating.
- Rosemary (4/5): - Location Rooms need updating. For the price the breakfast choice was poor
- Carl (7/5): It was a nice relaxing time with good service -
- Marc (9/5): -
- bobrat1506 (4/5): Disappointing - We stayed at the Parkmore Hotel from 31.12.25-2.1.26. We were up north from Gloucester to see my family and, while we would usually stay with them, I though that this time I would book us a ‘tranquil escape’ (as advertised on Best Western’s website). My grandparents were married at the Parkmore in 2006, I learned to swim in the pool growing up and, as a full-time NHS midwife, I thought that 2 nights at the Parkmore would be a perfect reset for myself and my partner for the New Year. What followed, however, was complete disappointment.
The Parkmore is perfectly situated for a walk into Yarm and an excellent distance from the family residence we were visiting. I booked a Junior Suite for us, going a little above my budget, as the photos looked lovely and I thought it would make for more of a treat. At first glance, the freshly made bed was welcoming and the lighting options allowed for both bright, soft and completely dark options which I appreciate greatly as a neurodivergent person.
The lounge area I would usually expect from a junior suite was furnished with two chairs, a small table and a dressing table. It didn’t feel like an extra space to relax but was convenient for putting our shoes on before heading out. I attempted to sit at the dressing table to do my hair and make-up but the seat was unstable and the mirror, which was an excellent size, was not positioned right for the table so I could just see the top of my head (I’m average height). These are things that, when a higher price tag is applied, I’d like to feel are considered by the hotel.
I opted for a hot bath to relax post journey and the bathtub was a great size and depth. The walls of the bathroom were not clean and the bottom of the door was falling apart. This detracted somewhat from the relaxation, as my mind wondered what had created the stains (following discussion with my partner we feel it could have been dried snot). Getting out of the bath was a bit awkward as there are no rails to support yourself on , which may be worth looking at for those more unstable on their feet
We returned from a family meal and went to watch the New Year’s Eve coverage on the TV. It worked well but was powered with cables wrapped in electrical tape and had bare copper poking out. The wire housing had pulled off the wall also. This isn’t a big deal but may be worth reviewing for safety.
We tucked into bed around 1am, after turning the radiator up. The window in our room was closed, as was the blind, but draughts of cold air were competing fiercely with the radiator’s efforts. The low thrum of the New Year’s Party was quite pleasant alongside the fireworks outside and didn’t deter us from sleep at all. Our sleep was interrupted, however, by our next door neighbours celebrating the New Year in their own private way. Not only were the sounds of their amorousness very clearly audible but the headboard vibrations carried through to our own. Thankfully their congress was short enough for us to find humour in it. The creaks of floorboards and shutting of doors carries through easily though, so no doubt our own floorboards and laughter were audible to our neighbours.
We had high hopes for breakfast as it’s described on the website as ‘worthy of a champion’ and ‘an experience for the senses’. The Birdcage is a beautiful space with natural lighting and pleasant staff. The comic-sans signs on bread and hot water did not fit with the overall theme of the room. Spider webs, crusted candle wax and frayed ribbon also contributed to a feeling of tiredness which was felt across much of the Parkmore. Both of us opted for pancakes and they arrived promptly. Both portions were lukewarm and soggy suggesting they had been heated in the microwave.
Our 2nd morning breakfasts, the mini breakfast and eggs Benedict, were similarly acquainted with the microwave. The bacon was hardened with bubbles on top, both indicators of reheating. It wasn’t food I felt good eating and it wasn’t nice. We were one of only 2 couples in the restaurant so the lack of a fresh cooked breakfast was really disappointing.
At each point in our stay we were hoping for a moment of ‘at least this bit was lovely’ and it never came. We visited the Hideaway, where the changing rooms were cold, with leaky taps and a layer of grime that followed us through to the jacuzzi and the hot tub. The level of cleanliness was such that we only tried the jacuzzi for 5 mins in which the seats we sat on began to fall apart with the flow of the water jets. The bottom of the hot tub was grubby, the lino surrounding was lifting up the duct tape holding it down and the side of the pool wasn’t much cleaner either. Our last ditch attempt at relaxation was to try the sauna. The heat was lovely but the wood is very ramshackle with part of the wall missing and covered with tinfoil. As we sat, I noticed some short curly hairs stuck to me. With this we rinsed off and retreated to our room to shower and go for a walk.
We didn’t raise our issues with the staff as we didn’t feel it was a problem they had caused or could fix. All staff we met were polite and pleasant and put effort in.
The overall impression of the Parkmore is a space where detail has been neglected, decor has become dated and the experience has been lost in the process. We travel a lot and never stay anywhere with a view to finding issues but I personally was heartbroken by the stay we had. The standards compared to those advertised are wildly different , straying dangerously into territories of false advertising. I feel the money I paid was in no way reflected in the experience we had and the grubbiness lead me to shower at a family member’s house prior to the return journey to feel clean.
- Frances (8/5): This is our go to hotel when visiting family in Yarm and we will return. - Very good value for money, location is perfect for us, facilities good our room had everything we needed and the staff are very friendly. The bed was a little uncomfortable and being able to charge our phones by the bed would be helpful, but it seems most hotels are averse to this.
- Ian (7/5): Good value for money, particularly if the air-con issue can be sorted out. - Staff very helpful and friendly.
Good breakfast, cooked items all lovely and hot.
Good amount of parking, although we travelled by train this time. We had a noisy air-con unit outside our bedroom window, which unfortunately kept us awake most of the night. Perhaps it could be turned off in the evening, or moved somewhere else so that it wouldn't affect guests.
Room a bit small and bathroom needed a bit of a refresh, but OK for a 1 night stay
- Neal (5/5): Never again - Well on first arrival looked nice was clean and room and breakfast was ok Would never book again it was the noisiest place I’ve ever stayed and didn’t get any sleep at all it’s situated right next to a train track with very frequent trains roaring past outside sounded like never ending freight trains and also lots of machinery noise at around 3am what sounded like dustbin wagons creaking for around half a hour worse place ever if you wanted to sleep I slept from 11pm was woken at 00.09 and was kept awake all night
- Anthony (8/5): -
- elaine (7/5): Enjoyable - Lovely friendly staff, can’t fault anyone we came into contact with. The gentleman serving at breakfast was very happy and friendly. The evening meal and breakfast was very nice. Good spa area, but needs some attention and it could be even better. Prices in restaurant were good and not extortionate drink prices like some hotels. Beautiful Christmas tree in reception Facilities are showing there age unfortunately. Reception area, desks look like they need replacing, 1st impressions matter. Spa area needs many repairs and the ladies changing room was freezing. Corridors need lick of paint. Room was far too hot, opened window to get some cooler air in the room and had a terrible nights sleep due to noise, not sure if it was heating or something outside. Room was very clean, especially the bathroom, but again, needs some life. No pictures on wall, broken electrical socket, iron shaped burn on carpet. I used to come as a child, over 35 years ago, like myself, could do with a new lease of life, and abit of a facelift
- Lisa (6/5): - Was a really nice stay apart from second night group of lads shouting n banging on room next door so woke me and kids up which wasn't ideal but hotel nice n nice staff
- Virginia (7/5): Clean pleasant good value - Good location for visiting family
- Virginia (7/5): Clean, pleasant, good value - Excellent location for visiting family Took my grandchildren to the pool it there was no towels to dry them,
The guy was helpful but towels were in the dryer, not sure where towels eventually came from 😳
- Andy (10/5): -
- graeme (5/5): Best Western = Travel lodge. Same - Like all Best Western, passable!. Dated!
I knew what it would be like so i was not surprised in anyway. It has a good size secure carpark and looks to be in a good area. Room dated
- Glenda (4/5): Never never again - The room was very old had to to climb into a spa to get in the shower cracks in the spa. Not clean.
Main room bench all cracked and some parts broken. Staff couldn't even get the tv to work. It was expensive for a dump. We had 2 rooms booked each one was no better than the other Everything a dump
- Carl (1/5): - Staff at check out was very helpful
- Ginger Boy (8/5): - Beds were comfortable. Food was nice in restaurant
- David (8/5): value for money overnight stay in a nice location - clean room , great service from all staff. Really pleased with stay. Particularly enjoyed the spa to relax and unwind nothing all ok
- Brian (7/5): Adequate for a couple of nights. - Spa was excellent Dining room was poor. Looked like a works canteen. No atmosphere. Vey limited menu. No decent ale at the bar only lagers and smooth flow.
Room was noisy. Large extractor flue next to the bedroom switched on at 0630 making sleep impossible,
- Jake (7/5): Did exactly what it says on the tin - Location
- Edward (8/5): - fresh
- Nicky (3/5): -
- SHANE (1/5): Paramount Hotel. Never again!!! - Leaving The whole place is old and in need of refurbishment. My single bed room for £106 was small and dirty with filthy carpet. The room was freezing and when I tried to turn it on it didn't work. I went to complain and the unhelpful receptionist advised she will turn it on as its not required during the day, noting its freezing outside. After an hour still no heating. I found a very useless heater then in the wardrobe. When I went to check out the same useless receptionist then told me its broken, so in other words she lied the night before. Never stay here again.
- Gemma (10/5): -
- Robin (7/5): -
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Anthony (5/5): Great staff and breakfast, the room was a little lacking but acceptable for a short overnight stay. - The staff were great and the room was clean. The breakfast was lovely and service was good. I was disappointed with the noise as the dividing walls between rooms seem so thin. My room was cold and I had no way to adjust/increase the temperature.
- 854keeksg (10/5): Great hotel - Amazing venue the staff and everything are so helpful. Lovely spa and restaurant on site and 5 minutes from Yarm high street
- LEE (10/5): - Staff extremley attentative friendly wentcabove and beyobd N/A
- nadine (7/5): Instead of being rustic it’s old and falling apart - That you offer use of the spa even though it’s very dated and need a lot of repairs It was very dated. The shower kept going from hot to cold. The menu wasn’t very interesting and breakfast wasn’t very nice
- kevin (5/5): -
- Trudy (10/5): - Very relaxing.
- Fireaway2021 (10/5): Fire engine on tour - Needed somewhere to break a journey with a classic fire engine and the Parkmore Hotel fitted the bill perfectly.
From the thoroughly professional welcome from Abby at a very busy reception to some incredible help from Lauren on bar duties, this was a great two night stay.
The breakfasts were well worth the sensible amount they cost, from the Continental choice on the Sunday due to our time constraints to the full option the next day.
Made use of the pool facilities as well which were most welcome after a long drive.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, a credit to all the staff here.
Overall, this is definitely on the list of places to use again when in the area.
- Andrew (9/5): A good city break location - Nice room size bathroom small be adequate The breakfast was good except the bacon was over cooked
- Mike (10/5): -
- Nyaradzai (7/5): Lovely stay and very comfortable hotel generally. Property could do with lifts though - Lovely comfortable stay at the Parkmore Hotel There was poop stain on the bathtub the day we checked in and on the day of checking out, the guy at the reception was very very rude
- C6619RGtomb (10/5): 1st class customer service! - Emilia at reception was the best part of our stay. The warm friendly reception we got from her was so professional but friendly I was at ease straight away after our long journey here. Through out the stay she was always at the bar helping us out with recommendation's to where to go for food and drink being from out of town and so hospitality when we came back after we’d been out. I couldn’t be happier with her standards and her professionalism and I wish her all the best in her roll at Parkmore hotel! I would recommend anyone thinking of staying here 100% as the rooms where comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
- llp1992 (2/5): Avoid - Had high expectations based on the current reviews on trip adviser. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Rooms were filthy, carpet in room was dirty, hand prints over the wall. No plug near the bed, only behind the tv.
Spa was dated and dirty, and cleaner was using the pool water to clean his mop ?! Hair all over the changing room that had clearly been there a while.
Staff were lovely to be fair, very polite and professional.
AVOID
- Dream06398385326 (10/5): Great stay - Lovely hotel. A1 stay everything spot on, had a lovely blonde girl for our check in, she was very informative about the facilities. Stayed as a couple together and was happy the spa was free to use
- Emma (10/5): Lovely spa day/night very relaxing but didn’t sleep much. - Spa facilities and sir Thomas brown round the corner. Too much noise wasn’t very relaxing on the evening to sleep after a lovely spa
