Karlin (10/5): - Pepper motel is in a great location, we came on the train and was going to the football at marvel stadium so everything was in walking distance. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and even got us an early check in. We had the buffet breakfast which was all very nice. The beds were comfortable especially the nice soft pillows. Ally (5/5): - Convenience to Marvel stadium. Easiness of using public transport. No clear instruction on how to enter or where to park to go to reception. For the price to pay and not have modern facilities. Limited natural lighting. No cleaning products for glasses or bathroom area.

Tristan (7/5): Lack of basic maintenance and look out for the photos not meeting expectations - Great position for the footy. 1 balcony door wouldn't lock, the locking mechanism was gone. Staff laughed and just said we have trouble with that when I bought that up 😡 The room was dark and the light over the coffee machine was out which I also bought up and they just said is it still not fixed😳 Also only 16 parks on site and the pool they show you is next door and need to get a different key to access each time you want to go. A bit of false advertising here I think,!

Josh (2/5): Majority of staff were rude, unclean robes and just poorly ran. Overall negative experience - The design of the lobby is nice Firstly, the room tv is so old that it doesn’t even have Netflix apps, or any streaming apps. It did although feature a state of the art CD player. The wifi password was not in the room at all, I’ve never been to anywhere where I had to ring someone to get a password. The robes were dirty, they had stains on them, brown stains. When I went to grab a coffee, when it was completely dead, the staff were just talking amongst themselves, they looked at me 3x times while they were talking and after 5 mins then decided they should probably serve me. For breakfast they didn’t serve any coffee and when I asked someone they completely ignored me. Just about all the staff were extremely rude, speaking very quietly and frowning. The only nice one was the bigger bloke. Overall shit the experience and won’t be coming back here, shame because most peppers locations I find quite reliable. This one is just terrible.

Jewel (5/5): Not worth the price - The overall feel of the room was nice and was in a great location The pool was not in the same building and quite a walk, having to go outside on the street to reach it. The room was not clean I found many things were dirty and some amenities were missing. One of the bins had not even been emptied and one of the towel appeared to be dirty. The balcony also look directly onto another balcony

The only thing that we was disappointed in was the man who served my husband for a takeaway coffee one morning. Very rude and told him he should have got room service.

Bower (1/5): - Location, room and bed The communication prior to our stay. The overseas call centre who are unable to assist with any queries. I was sent an email to tell me that Peppers was overbooked and that my booking was being moved to s sister property 3.5kms away. We had booked 5 weeks prior to our stay, and the booking was confirmed so I wasn't sure why we had to move. I tried to call peppers 7 times to discuss this with someone, but the call centre kept telling me that I could not speak to anyone locally as the lines were down, or they were busy, that the phones weren't working etc. I knew this was not true at all. The day before my booking I still had no idea where colleagues and I were checking into no one could tell me in the overseas call centre. I found the service to be completely appalling. I had 7 travellers with me, and I was extremely stressed worrying about where each of the travellers were staying. This was completely unprofessional and I am reluctant to ever book peppers again for a business trip. We had a conference at Marvel stadium, so the location of peppers was great. The call centre and inability to talk to any local Melbourne staff was a horrible experience and caused a lot of axiety and frustration. So, whilst the rooms and location were great, we won't be returning to Peppers due to the service we received leading up to the check in.

nicole (4/5): Very disappointing - The room had a balcony My room hadn’t been changed over when I arrived. Bed was a mess. Curtains were all closed. I asked for a new room and reception sighed and said this has been happening a lot lately. I got an “upgrade” to a smaller room. The water took ages to become hot in the shower. I left it on for 15 minutes on the first night and it wa still cold so I gave up. Cafe staff wouldn’t bring the coffee to us. Just shouted out “hello” from the desk and then proceeded to stand there and do nothing as they had nothing to do.

Henderson (10/5): But Dave will be staying again - I stay here quite a lot love the place however it’s just had a new paint job and it’s starting to look a bit rough inside as of chips and cracks where people are dragging the luggage across the hallway. Need to be touched up to keep looking and clean, the breakfast was a little bit shabby. I feel like they for money is not worth it. Car parking is always a nightmare there and they charge quite heavily for car park

Upon arrival at just before check-in at 2 p.m., I found the car park already full and a car already in the allotted waiting space to check-in and no other options available for parking in order to check in. Peppers maybe a great hotel and yes, you got my money for your petite room, but I went and stayed somewhere else. I had driven 4 hours, and I realise you probably don't care too much but please don't be bold enough to ask for a review when service and infrastructure was so lacking that I was not able to check in in a timely manner.

We weren’t actually in the hotel, it was difficult to get our head around the lifts and didn’t really feel like guests. The staff were nice. No detergent or sponges available in the rooms. The couch was inadequate for the amount of guests.

cpr2exs (4/5): Getting worse - It’s my second stay at this property, about a year from the last one. When I compare the two visits this one is worse on many fronts. Firstly I was double charged when I had already paid and the staff didn’t even clarify before billing me. That was resolved with the duty manager the next day. The bed is lumpy . I tried both sides of the bed but both were lumpy. The air conditioning is not working properly - either too hot or too cold. There’s a bad smell coming from the shower and there’s not enough hot water during peak shower times in the morning and evening. In all I think the property is deteriorating from the last time I stayed.

joshua (1/5): Never again - Unfortunately can't be positive on this joint Booked to Stay here months in advance for a family of 4. Booked 2 double beds and received 2 single beds for family of 4. Asked for our money back but we were refused. Manager was rude and unhelpful. He made no attemp to so much as look on his computer and see what he could do.Blamed booking.com and said to take it up with them. He told us that they had a full house. Wouldn't recommend staying here again. Had 4 trips to stay here again this year. Cancelled all.

One wine glass at the bar! Inexperienced bar service. When we complained we were told “this is a hotel, not a bar”!

Francesca (7/5): Enjoyable for a weekend - Room was nice and big, good location close to the harbour and great restaurants and cafe's. Easy walk into the city to shops. Booking process had a lot to be desired. Booked two beds, this was confirmed but on arrival we were not given two beds..... one queen bed. Had a pod coffee machine with no pods, very limited amenities in the room, the outlook from the room was nothing to write home about, there was a lot of rubbish outside our windows. Cost of parking was over the top!

Greg (8/5): Great location, easy to access via public transport. Close to Marvel Stadium. - The location is perfect for visiting Marvel Stadium if attending an event. It was very clean, spacious and very comfortable. Very easy to access via public transport. A little disappointed when reported a maintenance matter on the first night and staff said they would come and review and never arrived. Understandably it was late. We re reported the next day and it was fixed by the time we came back. So all good.
