Guest Reviews

- Pamela (5/5): -
- Max (7/5): Good for a night's stay if you're not picky. - Check in was easy. Did not talk or personally deal with anyone. They sent a text with instructions on how to get in to our room and what room we were in. It looked like the room had been previously broken into. All the covers were off the heaters and they looked dirty. Shower would get steaming hot when other rooms flushed toilets or turned on their showers.
- Juaneva (5/5): It was comfortable enough but not very accommodating. - The location was good. The mirror was not hung up on the wall. The one towel holder fell off the wall when we hung a towel on it. There wasn’t anywhere to hang towels. I didn’t see any staff. There were local kids riding there scooters and bikes into the parked cars. There was food and drinks for m the tables in there little picnic area. No o ne seemed to be cleaning up for others to use.
- Tim (8/5): -
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Nick (2/5): Cold and uncomfortable - Location Heat didnt work
- Barry (7/5): - The manager (& her granddaughter) were pleasant, helpful, & accessible. The bed was comfortable & there was always hot water. The refrigerator was cold - but had no shelves. This is our 2nd time of staying at the Roundtop Mountain Vista - Cabins and Motel. It is close to the Hot Springs State Park, as well as being a good value for the price. Cleanliness is always our priority & we appreciated how clean the room was on our arrival. We will stay again. A refrigerator in better shape. A blackout curtain. The window has a nice curtain; however, the outside lights on at night for security keep the room lite up through the present curtains. The brightness made it difficult to get to sleep.
- Miranda (9/5): - Comfy bed and friendly staff
- Micahla (10/5): - The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our stay. There was easy access to dining and an area to walk our dog.
- Nancy (4/5): - The room was clean; however, carpet is extremely old and needs to be replaced, kinda gross to even walk on it. The bathroom door wouldn't shut and the panel was catching on the frame ready to rip apart. The shower head would not adjust and only produced a little stream of water, the water temperature is very difficult to adjust, the water is more hot and burned my scalp. No where to put anything, only floor space and a serious lack of outlets. It's a great place other than the condition of the room.
- david (7/5): - Quaint. Not for everyone but for old folks who like nostalgia it will take you back in time Front door didn’t close right
- John (8/5): -
- Tim (6/5): - I could not get the TV to work.
- ROBERT (8/5): Comfortable but lacking - Motel does not have road appeal but our room was clean and comfortable. Bed had form topper and was very comfortable. Shower was small but great water pressure. Overall maintenance of facility lacking, but no issues with room during our stay.
- Bradley (7/5): -
- Dan (1/5): -
- Jean (1/5): Dump Motel - Absolutely nothing Place was a dump and not worth $131! The TV didn't work!
- Michael (4/5): Housekeeping needed - We booked this based on the 7.5 on Hotels and 4 on google.
Don't make the same mistake.
The motel is pretty rundown.(I don't know about the cabins). Our room was not clean. It hadnt been vacuumed. The refrigerator was dirty inside and on top. There was mold in the shower. The bed WAS comfortable, I'm happy to report. The a/c was weak but worked.
I see several 10/10 reviews on Hotels. What I saw didn't reflect that at all.
- marypW7846DE (2/5): HoRRIBLE, and inadequate place to rent as is now - Cabin kitchen is a place that I wish I could add a picture for everybody to see! Beat-up camper double burner, dishes and all kitchen items that Goodwill would not accept them so bad they were. Bathroom sink and bathrub had so much left over hair from previous visitor that i personally had to rinse them off. Bathroom ceiling with lots of mildew. Outside of cabin junk yard for dead refrigerators, front office another junk yard accumulation of trash. Unbelievable!!!!
- HEATHER (1/5): - That is was in my hometown. I’ve stayed here several times before without any problems, but this visit was terrible. The room had a filthy AC, overwhelming chemical air fresheners, and signs of water damage (I took photos). The property ignored my texts, and I had to go through Booking.com twice to get a refund — losing money to fees in the process. Sadly, I can’t recommend it anymore.
- Clarisse (7/5): - Motel sans prétention. Proche des thermes et our une halte simple Clim
- Annette (1/5): We bikers will not be staying there and you shouldn’t either. - The location was decent. The property had weeds that were out of control and garbage piles that were visible from each cabin. The rooms will were not kept up. There was an ice pick in the one cabin drain to hold up the drain plug. You could see right through the curtain. In the cabin with the kitchen there was a half eaten rotisserie chicken in the fridge. Mold between the toilet and the bath tub. In the other cabin there was unfinished plywood decorating the walls. A broken cabinet and dirty toilet with poop and pee around the edges. We checked out before we slept in possible dirty beds. No taking a chance with bed bugs.
- Barry (1/5): I did not stay I went and got another hotel room really disappointing - My room still had a trashcan full of garbage. It didn’t look like the sheets had been washed. They were white specs on the sheets. The door handle of the door would not work properly. You could not shut the door unless you slammed it. The other caretakers broke the handle to my room so I went and got another hotel room real disappointing. It really does have a lot of potential really need to put together a good staff
- Mara (1/5): -
- Debra (6/5): - .
- Brian (2/5): - Overpriced and rundown
- Kitte (6/5): Better for workers than travelers - Adequate for the price. Dark carpet is odd, no coffee maker, a/c duct work open, and went out during a storm. No mgr on site, but he did text me to welcome and changed the room with ease before we arrived. But was non responsive when the a/c failed.
- Terry (3/5): Issue we had was resolved. - Location was ok This place was old. Needed cleaned properly. Smelled bad.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rae (10/5): Quiet and Nice - Check in was done with phone, which was really cool. It was really quiet, which I liked. It's an older motel, so some wear and tear was evident, but it was clean, and the bed was really comfortable.
- Wayne (10/5): Perfect for my one night stop. Good price, quiet and comfortable. - Great price and easy to find.
- Scott (1/5): Wouldn’t stay there again - Bed was comfortable. The whole place is badly in need of repair and updating.
Patch spots everywhere time to paint
No water pressure in the shower and so dark you can’t see anything.
AC is not adjustable. It’s either cold or off
- Jan (3/5): I don't recommend this place - No breakfast The plan was dark and cramped and old. The molding was dirty in the bathroom
- Jack (6/5): - An older property but fine for a fishing trip
- BrendaB246 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - Dirtiest place we have ever had the (bad) luck to stay in. I splashed a bit of water on the tile in front of the refrigerator and wiped it up so it wouldn't be slippery ... bad mistake as it let me know the tile wasn't supposed to be dark brown. The carpet was also dark brown ... probably was supposed to be cream-colored :-(
The air conditioning or swamp cooler is set for the whole string of rooms with no way to turn it up or down. As a result, the room was way too hot during the evening and by morning (when it was cooler outside) way too cold. We opened the room door to let in some warm air!
Horrible communication from "manager." You get this really perky text before check in (our door just needed an entry code) and one when you leave. HOWEVER, despite those texts telling you to ask if you needed something or to give feedback, no one answered questions. Same with calling the number on the well-worn paper on the office door - no answer. As far as we could tell, no one mans this place in person at all. Most of the individual cabins appeared to be full of trash or were long-term rentals for messy people.
In addition, the rooms were very loud. There was a family next to us with what sounded like 10 kids jammed into that tiny room ... jumping on the bed, banging on the wall, crying, giggling, talking much of the night.
Was ANYTHING good about this place? Comfortable bed, cheap, close to hot springs.
NOT WORTH IT. Ridiculously bad experience!
- Sharyn (2/5): - The issues are too horrible to photograph. Didn't want them on my phone. The shower scares me
- Tim (6/5): - We were looking for a cheap place to stay and we got it. Not in very good condition.
- Jay (10/5): Perfect nights sleep and great shower in the am! - Very quiet and clean!
- Susan (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! FILTHY AND IN DISREPAIR. - THERE IS NOTHING TO LIKE!! The room was absolutely filthy. No hot water for the unit. The tub had a huge glob of, I am hoping mud, but something brown in it. The sheets were not clean, there was sand in the bed. The toilet was not hooked to the floor at least it tipped pretty bad when you used it. There was a towel on the floor under the bathroom sink to catch the leaks. Cob webs in most corners. No lock on the inside door so if some one knew the code they could just come in. The "kitchen" was filthy and basically unusable. It would have been cleaner to camp. I did not stay the night once I saw that the sheets were dirty. Email management with no reply. Also no towels, and one small USED bar of soap. The price was $157. Outrageous! I disliked EVERYTHING. There was not one item that was clean or in good condition.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was dirty. There were bottle caps and empty alcohol bottles under the bed. No water in the sink or shower.
- Erika (8/5): Comfortable, spacious room in a great location in Thermopolis. - Spacious, clean room with fridge and coffee maker. Bed was large and comfortable. Pet friendly made it easy The guests next to my room were banging doors, talking loudly, and in and out all night.
- ReaAnna (6/5): - Was clean
- Stephanie (2/5): - Vents aren't covered and are clogged with tons of dust and dirt. No one had cleaned the fridge out and there was a can of dog food in it. The fridge and coffee maker were covered in dust. The outside was in shambles. And all this on top of the fact that when we checked in, our room was completely uncleaned - I mean, the beds were unmade, boot prints and dirt on the sheets, trash in the room. Just terrible.
- Abagale (4/5): The people were friendly, it was a good location and pet friendly. Very dirty and no hot water. Woundn’t stay again. - Friendly staff. Close to everything. No hot water in our room, we were given the option of showering in a different room but that also had no hot water. The fridge was filled with old molded food and the microwave was very dirty when we checked in, we cleaned this out ourselves after informing the staff. There was a large hole in the bathroom floor under the sink and the floor was a bit unstable in the bathroom.
- Jodie (4/5): - Property has not been maintained inside or out.
- Sjp307 (6/5): Pleasant - Not a bad little place for a quick over night trip. We didnt want to pay an arm and leg for lodging when we were literally just sleeping over night. This place did the trick. The housekeeper was very kind. Outdated, and in need of updates.
- I2477FHjeffh (2/5): Avoid this motel like the plague! - Whatever you do, don’t stay here. I called to let them know we were running late, and I left them my phone number, they did not respond. I called again an hour later, left them my phone number again, and they did not respond. I got to the motel, rang the doorbell, knocked on the door, and no one answered. We then had to book a different motel (Paintbrush Inn) at the last minute in another area of town. The website for Roundtop Mountain Vista Cabins and Motel explicitly stated front desk was monitored “24/7”. It was not.
- Rose (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nick (3/5): Very uncomfortable and dirty stay - Very dirty. No heat. Dilapidated. Hole in mattress where spring collapsed
- Chad (1/5): this place sucks - checking out everything. this place was ran down, dirty, I had to beg for towels to shower, go next door to a dirty room to hopefully find clean towels. no o site manager. the pictures must be from 1980. The owner is rude, and can't handle negative feedback.
- Lori (7/5): Good -
- Rachel (10/5): I loved it! - Location and the cabin setting
- BT (2/5): - This property is totally disgusting and run down. The sheets were stained and covered with body hair. The main light didn't work. The entrance door had gaps in it allowing cold air in. I called the manager because there is nobody on site. The first time he hung up on me while I was explaining the conditions. When I called back he offered to move us to another room but I didn't want to take the chance, plus my wife was grossed out. I asked for a refund and he refused because he offered us another room. I told him I would contact my cc company and go that route. We left and went to another hotel. It's sad because we've stayed there in the past and the previous owners were wonderful. It appears the new owners are not taking care of the property or their customers.
- Stephanie (10/5): - I have stayed here many times, it has always been clean, quite. I love the cabin feel to the place. check in is very easy, they have added new smart locks on doors which is cool.
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jack (3/5): Got what I payed for (cheap) - Easy booking and staff was accommodating Condom wrapper on the floor and trash wasn’t emptied, tv didn’t work, pipes are leaking in the ceiling, heat register rattling
- Verified traveler (10/5): Thermopolis to relax - This location offers private on-suite rooms or chalet style cabins. It’s located within driving distance of the Hot Springs State Park, as well as a pleasant walk to historic downtown.
Clean, comfortable rooms, wi-fi, streaming services.
- Wendy (10/5): - Excellent
- Lisa (10/5): Comfortable and cozy - It was very nice and comfortable. Very nice host, Would definitely recommend!!!
- Greta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jose (1/5): Terrible!! - nothing!! I did not like anything about this hotel, the cleanliness is terrible, they did not fulfill what they promised me, dusty beds, they prohibited us from using the bathrooms in the cabin, and threatened to charge a fine of $300.00 if we used them, and they sent us to another room to use other bathrooms, which were completely dirty with urine, feces and menstrual blood. The garbage can was completely full, the sink was dirty, the shower was full of towel. It is the most disgusting hotel that my family and I have ever stayed in.
- John (2/5): - There was no one to check me in and they didn't answer my calls. I had to book another room at a different hotel to have a place to stay!!!
- Roni (6/5): - The check in was very different
- David (4/5): Cozy cabins, water issue - We liked the cabin, very cozy.
Angela was great.
Location was great. Upon arrival, we were informed that the water was off to the cabin, but they had a restroom and shower available in the main building for us to use. We thought that would be OK. If they get the water issue fixed, we would probably stay again.
- Paul (10/5): - Front desk staff was professional, understanding of traveler needs, and committed to providing a quality stay. Bed and shower were both excellent and the location is right in heart of it all. Amazing western/mountain vibes!
- James (10/5): - Extremely tranquil, and the lodging was very pleasant; they’ve provided just about everything one might want or need for a multi-day retreat. Very nice location, not too far from town should you need to go, and near some fun state parks well worth visiting. Highly recommend a stay here!
- Rianna (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and we could walk downtown for dinner.
- Lance (2/5): Skip it. Spend a few extra $ for a different place. Any place. - Location is good. Poor condition property. Looks like an amateur tried to do a renovation. Poor fitting trim everywhere, overpaint on everything, exposed power wires, extension cords, exposed pipes…
The bathroom fan didn’t work, when asked about it the manager said “its been that way a long time” and “you got a good value for your room” and refused to do anything about it while giving my wife a condescending attitude.
- George (9/5): Nice overnight stay - Location The shower was small
- Jennifer (8/5): - Always friendly
- Cindy (7/5): Was nice although the coffee pot had moldy coffee in it. Otherwise everything was good. - Friendly, comfy and cozy! N/A
- Tara (6/5): Adequate room but poor communication - Cheapest option in the area. Basic but adequate room. We booked a cabin and on arrival were told we’d been moved to a room due to ‘plumbing issues’. The staff member said she was going to call us to advise but was “too busy”. She said she would refund the difference in price. We were disappointed as we liked the idea of a family cabin. I have since sent two messages regarding a refund of the difference in price and had no reply, can’t seem to find an email for the property anywhere either. It wasn’t a lot of money but we were disappointed about the switch and especially the lack of reply on the pricing.
We also found the air conditioning hard to control and were glad we had additional blankets with us.
- Cellinda (4/5): - Prior to arrival staff reached out and advised of the lack of hot water. This was acceptable because we had a kitchenette to be able to heat water . Two night stay TV would not work. Could not get a receipt for our stay. We were moved from our originally booked cabin to a smaller cabin. Not able to reach on site management the entire stay after check-in. Would not recommend.
- Nickie (6/5): - Power was out to the cabin so we ended up in a hotel room with no kitchenette. Very old hotel, but that was part of the aesthetic. We could not get the air conditioner to shut off, but we noticed in the morning and were leaving anyway.
- Ivana (6/5): - Check in was easy- keys were left in a mailbox for pick up. However, we wanted to report the smoking detector being missing (was found on top of the tv stand without a battery) but we were never able to find someone in the office.
We knew there wasnt any AC but we couldnt locate a fan either, it had been almost 90 during the day. Opening the window was a fun task, the window was so small it didnt even allow any air thru.
Was very loud, could hear everyones conversation (including a very thankful lady at 630 am talking about how she couldnt start her day without coffee lol).
I would totally recommend this place for a drive thru trip or one night stay though.
- Pat (2/5): - Hard to contact the manager. No towels in room or bedding for the Futon. No Smoke Detector in the cabin and there was no HOT WATER for a shower. The cabin had a small kitchen, but unable to use since we were unable to clean anything prior to usage. Only one coffee cup for 3 people. Old and rundown. Great for someone who wants that rustic adventure, but if not, then this is not the place for you.
- Tracy (7/5): Good -
- Kurt (8/5): - A bit dated but clean and comfortable.
- Tourist54938798492 (2/5): motel needs a lot of work to get even 2 stars. - The room was in very poor condition. The smoke alarm was laying behind the tv with no batteries. The chairs outside were ripped and not likely to have held a person over 70 lbs. The shower was dripping all night and the floor had a puddle, and when I mentioned it, the person told me they knew but just haven't got around to fixing it. The coffee maker was a small, pink kuerig that had seen better days. The air unit was impossible to shut off. The paint was flaking on the walls. The radiator cover in the bath was laying loose on the floor. I only give points that the bed was comfortable and the location is good. It would not take a lot of effort to make the rooms look so much better. If it hadn't been so late, we would have tried for another lodging.
- Jennifer (4/5): - The front desk staff (one woman running the whole show) was phenomenal and really took the sting out of a sub par property. Pics don’t match the state of the place now. We felt a little catfished lol
Grounds were over run with weeds, no bbq as advertised, cabin was run down.
Shower was sort of adequate
But the lady with the keys was so very nice and helpful and apologetic and made sure we had coffee.
- Susan (6/5): - Cute little property. No extra toilet paper. Coffee pot and microwave were broken. Very few outlets. Comfy bed. Water was barely hot.
- Hiatt (1/5): Bad - Not a thing Misleading
- Reff (1/5): Bad - Can I send you the pics of linens and bug filled lighting? Tiny sign telling me me to go into the “mailbox” with a couple other “registered” guests to get a key? Holy shit. Talk about phone in job. Imma Dude and don’t feel safe. I’ll be sure to telll people to NEVER stay here Clean linnens
- Trina (9/5): Superb - Quiet and cozy. Peaceful. Couldn't get the AC to shut off.
- Gaynell (8/5): Very good -
- 99luvtravel (2/5): STAY AWAY!! - This place is deplorable! It doesn’t even deserve a 1 rating, more like triple zeroes!!
Booked 2 rooms. They were dirty, stains on comforters & sheets. The sheets had patches where they were repaired! Bathroom was horrid. Carpets filthy, matted with dirt. Locks on doors were poor and the outside dining area was a single chair with torn seat. We had prepaid but left, willing to lose the money for this dump. Pictures are very misleading.
- Brian (6/5): - Was adequate
- Brady (7/5): Good -
- Brent (1/5): Bad - Not a safe cabin, alot of extension cords and uncovered wiring. We did not stay at all due to it being a possible fire hazard.
- Tiffany (10/5): - This place reminds me of a movie motel. I loved the aesthetic! Check was easy a homey love the small town we will be staying there again
- Gretchen (1/5): Gross. Creepy. - Nothing. I did not end up staying there. The cabin didn't look anything like the pictures. There was a giant hole in the bathroom floor, the bathtub was running continuously the window next to the bed was broken open. Couldn't close or lock it and no screen. Gross, dingy, dark. Microwave handle hanging off. Super creepy. I went and asked for a refund, the woman had to call the owner. The owner went ballistic and screamed if I posted the pics I took he would sue me.
- marcyes (8/5): - Room clean enough and quiet. Beds and bedding good. Not enough towel bars nor any table or desk convenient. Coffee in room excellent and generous.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- juliegA1236FP (2/5): Never again, scammed money - We were told a cash price that night and the manager was supposed to give use change the next morning. Next morning she refused to give us our change. We feel perhaps she is running a cash scam against the owners and not telling them about cash bookings, than keeping the cash. It wasn’t much but you do not do that… ever.
- Valorie (1/5): You need to refund my money ! Sorry excuses for a hotel ! - What breakfast, the rooms and cabins were so severely outdated! The bed was nice ,but that was all ! I should get my money back,or you should have paid me to stay there!!! The room could have each had their own air conditioning, should have been at least have the price we paid. Couldn't see in the shower, good thing I know where everything !
- Kim (2/5): - I have pictures and video - this place is filthy and not suited for human use. The terrible smell of old pet urine in the carpet alone was unbearable. The carpet does not look or smell like it’s ever been cleaned. I found old dog food and some old bugs on the floor. The ‘a/c’ makes a terrible racket that exceeds the OSHA standards for noise. I know because I measured it.
You should take this place off your list.
- Wolder (1/5): Horrific - There was absolutely nothing about this that was good. The front desk was left unattended. When I pulled into the hotel the front desk attendant was also pulling into the hotel. When I went to check in she didn't ask for an ID or credit card. She put two keys on the desk and said Go ahead and look in these two rooms and see which one you want. After which she left and did not return. The front desk was left unattended for hours. She had a note saying contact her at her phone number for help.
I was so disappointed by the amount I paid for this room and the state I found my two options. I ended up leaving not even staying at this disgusting hotel.

- Donald (4/5): Disappointing -
- sherrie (10/5): Great stay! - Great little cabin . We were worried about late check in but they have awesome system setup. Beds were extremely comfortable.
