- Duc (8/5): - Perfect location, well laid out structure that allows emergency exit
- shadowg462 (2/5): lying thief - i asked to see the room 1st. it looked overpriced but i was tired and hot so i turned on the air conditioner and waited but he rushed me to pay for the room. i said i'll pay if the a/c gets cold. he said it will get cold. i paid and went out thinking the room would be cold when i goy back, but it was the same temperature as outside. he offered to give me a new room and the air conditioner also didn't work in that room. so i asked for a refund and he yelled at me that he's never had a customer complain so much and he's not giving me a refund. he's a lying thief.
- Jungle (9/5): Superb - If your running on a budget this a place to go Hue as a city i would only stay 2nights the staff were very helpfull 24hr desk funishings a little dated but comfortable non the less hot shower every day and clean towels and room cleaned daily
- Karl (9/5): Good price for the accomodation - Close to night market and Citadel but quiet
- Olivier (5/5): Passable -
- Wante (10/5): Awesome value for money - The staff was nice, the place was clean.. The location was good, not super central, but close enough. They help with tours and give suggestions. A nice café right next door. Unable to pay with card, no mention of it during booking process. The bedding was a little surprising. I'm used to sheets + blanket + colorful extra blanket (usually for design). But here there was only the colorful blanket and it felt rough. I almost thought they forgot the normal blanket.
- Tltan (8/5): Very good -
- Augustus (8/5): Very good -
- W985NSrobp (4/5): Poor quality - The Pictures are no like the real run down property. It is done a dodgy alley of broken concrete. The advertised breakfast is a bread roll and a coffee that's it! Booking in was a bit chaotic. No water is provided, basically nothing is provided. I listed all the items not work properly but for ease here basically none do from TV, air con, hot water. No towel one day, the bed rock hard and no upper sheet just a blanket of dubious cleanliness. The smoke detector torn apart. The light in the bathroom barely works and very dim. Bathroom window had no lock so anyone could get in. Seems to be run on the cheap can not recommend.
- Cindykitwah (8/5): Decent for the price - We stayed as a group of 5. The rooms were spacious, and relatively clean. The staff with were friendly, and the hotel was in a decent location, it wasn’t too far to walk from the main bars and restaurants. For the price, it was good, no thrills but the AC worked and the beds were comfortable enough.
- binekeb2015 (4/5): Only the hostess is nice - Really bad hotel.
Stayed here for 2 nights, wanted to leave so badly. We stayed on the 4th floor, there are no elevators and the host refused to carry the bags. (we had gotten used to this in previous hotels so we kind of expect that here in Vietnam) So, we carried our 17kg bags ourselves op 5 flights of stairs.
The air conditioning did not work, and we didn’t receive water. The windows could not close completely so there was a draft (the fan was on the whole time). The shower area was very hot, (since the airco was broken) and when you got out of the shower you needed another one since you sweated so much because of the heat. the bathroom itself was awful as well, with fungus and everything from the ceiling. the only thing truly clean was the toilet, it looked like that had been replaced recently.
The balcony door could not lock, so the people in the other room could just cross the balcony and enter our room. there were no lockers.
The only upside:
The hostess is truly the sweetest person, she booked a really nice tour for us and she gave us some tips in the neighborhood for vegetarian food, but I don’t book a hotel for the hostess alone. Btw, she was only there for 1 morning, other times we would get this young boy who didn’t speak english.
- Ana_L_23 (6/5): Central location - No luxury but ok. The room is spacious but if it's cold, it's not so pleasant, as the isolation is close to none. Basic breakfast, centrally located and friendly staff that arranges tours/buses/trains.
- JayLipAus (6/5): Budget and basic - This is a great little hotel for backpackers passing through Hue. The owner was very helpful and organised our easy rider trip to Hoi An. She gave us loads of advice on the things to do in Hue. If you are on a budget this hotel is worth considering.
- R2963WTlaurah (8/5): Clean and tidy budget hotel - Friendly and helpful staff at Star Binh. Great nights sleep and hot water shower. Perfectly reasonable for price. Deserves more than 1 star giving consideration to a few of the higher rated hotels we stayed at during time in Vietnam. Easy to find and surrounded by good coffee shops. Walking distance to all main attractions. Rom at reception is hilarious!
- B3023HJandreass (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Booked one night here in a private room for two and had an amazing time. The owners and staff are just lovely and welcoming. The room was clean and we had a balcony. The breakfast is not included but is very cheap (less than a dollar). For the low price of less than 10$ for a room this is great value.
- Chrisandteri2014 (8/5): Great budget value for money hotel - As the title says, if you're on a budget trip this was $10 for a double room with a bath and shower en suite.
Reception is very friendly as you'd expect and backed up by great service.
Rooms are clean and tidy but a little out of date. But this is Vietnam and not Central Europe !
We had breakfast here one morning and it was well worth a go. Simple omelettes, bread, strawberry jam and great local coffee.
The bus guided tour that was recommended was ok, but you get what's on the box if a little rushed.
If you leave any food in the fridge let the staff know as they turn the power off in the room after you leave. Thus not cooling your beer and ham from the supermarket !!!!!!
The staff here have been great. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. We have felt most welcome from the moment we arrived.
I would give five stars for the budget range of hotels but my ratings are from a wide range of hotels.
- Clubronny (10/5): Deserves another Star! - Clean room, stocked mini bar, A/C, balcony, comfy bed, tub & shower at an awesome price. Staff very helpful in arranging bus trip to Lang Co & any other info you might need. They all speak great English so no language barriers. Nestled in between the big boy hotels, so it's very central to everything.
- NZ_Traveller (8/5): Nice stay close to train station - It's not in the main foreign touristy area so there's lots of local restaurants for a lot cheaper. But everything is a walk away, to the citidel 20-30min, riverside and nightmarkets 15-20min. Its most convenient as its close to Train station 15-20mins or 25000dong by taxi. Staff are superfriendly and can rent you a bicycle or scooter for a day. There are about three nice coffee cafes directly out front. Or staff can drop you to from the bus station. Rooms are basic. Clean and comfy bed. Large room.
Only probs was window in bathroom broken. No wifi. Crt tv. prefer a bedsheet to a wool blanket. Otherwise great place to base yourself in Hue.
- R3273DMpeterm (8/5): Great Location - I found this hotel to be in a good location close to lots of restaurants etc The room décor was a bit worn but was kept clean the Internet reception was good as was the TV the bed was very comfortable unlike a lot of Vietnamese Guesthouses the Staff were very friendly as well All in All I found the Binh Duong to be good value for money
- Marutzianita (10/5): Good, nice & cheap - Nice and clean room with a balcony, tv, wi fi, hot shower, fridge and a little table to take a look by the window while you're having breakfast, as it can be taken at your room ;)... Maybe because the low season we got a great deal, only 6 dls! The service is great too, i will totally recommend it :) !
- knox_0815 (10/5): Very good base to visit Hue - Very nice and cosy family lead hotel not far from down town. Pretty hidden in a narrow side road, but thus also pretty quiet. During our stay they were redecorating the stair case (during the day, without disturbing us), so once completed it will be a very nice and clean hotel. They showed us a variety of rooms from $10 to $15 all with windows(!), where we chose an intermediate room that had was quite spacious and had windows(! - even in bathroom) a tiny balcony, fridge and A/C. Everything was clean and service was very friendly. No breakfast though... (you will find something a few blocks away, but not too close)
Overall very much recommending this, excellent price / value at still a good location.
- vincent_b230 (10/5): Very friendly and accomodating - After a horrible experience dealing with tour operators in Ha Long bay we came to this hotel to relax and take some time away from being hustled. We found it really nice and the staff was exceptionally friendly. They helped us with EVERYTHING we needed without pushing a bunch of tours on us. We also encountered a problem with a bus we booked and they did everything in their power to help us out. Great people, cheap rooms and excellent service. Highly recommended.
- IlostmycaminHue (10/5): Home away from Home - I find this hotel value for money for its quality service and cleanliness. The staff are courteous, friendly and trustworthy. They can coordinate tours for you, help you to rent a bike and how to go about the city. The service is not as aloof and professional compare to four stars hotel but instead the guests and the staff are like a family living under one roof.
The hotel's location is also commendable as it is a stone's away from the hospital and the Perfume River, Dong Ba Market, Big C Mall and a Catholic Church are all walking distance from it.
- mjryan (10/5): All rooms have balconies, nice and very clean - As soon as we got off the Sinh Tourist bus in Hue, a guy soon gave us his hotel brochure. He offered $8 per night stay with everything included (air-conditioning, wifi, hot water, TV, fridge) and he would give us a free ride to his hotel to have a look.
The rooms were nice and clean. They offered us another room for us to rest and take a shower before the standard became available. The standard room we checked in was very clean with lots of windows and a small balcony.
The staff were helpful in terms of guiding us around and providing useful information. The girl at reception always had a smile on her face. We rented 2 bikes ($1 each per day).
Overall I would recommend travellers to stay at this small but clean hotel.
- wilbeth (8/5): Very affordable and yet a nice place to stay. - Im from Phiippines and I used to stay in Star Binh Duong Hotel for a month. All I can say is very affordable you can stay to at the heart of the city. English speaking staff and very friendly. For those who are budget conscious, this is the perfect hotel for you.
- freeloadx (10/5): Clean! Good Location! Friendly! - Stayed here for 2 days during december. the staffs are really friendly, and are able to provide all the necessary directions. they are not very pushy with their tours which is a really good thing because i intended to explore the city with a bicycle by myself. and yes they provide the rental of bicycle here too at 1 USD.
The rooms are exceptionally clean, the cleanest that I have encountered during my 2 and a half weeks stay in hotels in vietnam. and for the price of 8 USD u cant go wrong with this hotel.
I remember that i was out for only 1 hour, and when i was back in my hotel, my room was cleaned, towels changed, pillow casing was changed too. real pleasant.
they provides free transportation from the train station too. will definitely recommend this hotel!!
- Distenz (10/5): clean, near and helpful - I have stayed in this hotel for 10 days in September 2010. I was on the first floor, on the left. I had the chance also to visit all other rooms. The size of bathroom and room is very variable, so ask Hieu and his team for a look around, so are fully satisfied with your choice. The place is quiet, no bars or clubs around, and no groups sitting and talking loud either nearby. The rooms are cleaned everyday, if you wish so, and I found the mattress very suitable to my back!
The Citadel is about 20mn walk, and one the best vegetarian restaurant in town is 5mn walk.
