- Irene (8/5): Kleines Hotel mit familiärem Service - Das Hotel eignet sich für 1-2 Übernachtungen, bevor man zum Flughafen fährt. Es ist hübsch mit 6 grossen Zimmern, einem kleinen Pool mit Liegen, Stühlen und nettem Personal. Es ist aber etwas abgelegen. Halten Sie bei der Anreise im Taxi die genaue Adresse und Telefonnummer bereit. Bei Reservation kann man abends gut und günstig essen. Mückenspray bereit halten! Geldwechsel ist nicht möglich. Zum Strand ist es zu Fuss zu weit, aber man kann ein Tuktuk bestellen. Zum Flughafen kann man mit dem Hotelbus für 20 Dollars und 4 Personen fahren.
- Steven (4/5): Would definitely not stay here again. - Arrived late at night at this hotel after flying in from Bangkok. We had been travelling all day so desperately wanted a shower and a good nights sleep. We were given a room close to the reception, spacious but with large patches of mould along one wall. The room looked very shabby and had a definite musty smell. Had it not been midnight we would have refused to stay in this room but we were so tired we decided one night was tolerable. The bathroom was adequate with hot running water but again mould on the walls. The bed was very soft and the bedding very worn. On the plus side, this hotel has a beautiful pool set in lush tropical gardens. The staff were friendly, enough and the cost was very reasonable. Breakfast if you chose a full english was lovely but continental consisted of anaemic toast and a few pieces of chocolate cake. I would definitely not stay here again. The mould on the walls was unacceptable. I have lived in the tropics and know that this occurs with poor maintenance of a property. The hotel is located in a quiet area, a drive away from the beach and the fish market.
- wayne (10/5): - Very nice hotel, clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had dinner there and was really good, although took a little long. Swimming pool was nice but did not get get a chance to use it. Bathroom and room were really spacious with all the toiletries to that of a 5*.Breakfast was really good with a wide enough choice. Overall a good choice and a positive first impression of Sri Lanka :) will definitely recommended and will stay here when we return.

- Jeremy (8/5): Really a tranquil and comfort hotel - * Like: Location: It's a small hotel in the residential area so you need a driver to take you there. Room: Spacious and well decorated to have a real feel that you are in Sri Lanka. Staff: Friendly and respond quickly to our demands. Pool: Not crowded for number of rooms in this hotel is limited. Distance to the airport: No need to be super early to get to the airport because it's close to the airport. Choice of breakfast: many of options despite it’s a small hotel. * Dislike: A little bit noisy: Close to the airport so the noise of airplane can be heard. Heard 3 times of worships by loudspeakers in a Sunday morning. 2 are from Muslim, 1 is from Catholic. Besides these two points, it is a peaceful and tranquil environment. Dining: Eat inside is a little expensive but eat outside of the hotel may require some time to find a good place.

- marion (10/5): Lovely holiday ‘Home from Home’ - A most enjoyable return visit to Sri Lanka staying at this hotel. Staff are wonderful and feel like our extended family.can’t do enough for us, and so so friendly and pleasant despite their limited English. Comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms, excellent food, plenty of choice. Very relaxing gardens and pool area, easy tuktuk/taxi service to get around cheaply. Would definitely recommend and would re visit ( our 2nd time from UK) Thank you Steve {owner} and a special thanks to all the staff; very sad to leave xx
- Angela (10/5): Great accommodation near airport - An excellent small hotel, set in beautiful gardens, in quiet part of Negombo, yet short ride by tuk tuk to the beach. The restaurant menu offered a good selection; staff were professional & efficient. It was very helpful to pre-pay extra for airport transfer.
- Shota (10/5): We were lucky - When we were picked up at Colombo airport at 1 am, the hotel man was much kindly to take us to the hotel among many tourists in the aiport. Next morning, the tourist car that we booked from Japan did not come. But the hotel manager arranged other car quickly for us. So, we lost only 2 hours. The driver whose name was Rajah (www.ngeurotravels.blogspot.com) took us three days with technical driving safely through the crowd of Srilanka. He was shy but reliable because he was waiting for us to return hotel from walking around strange town in Nuwara eliya. Thank you all.

- K (2/5): Very Disappointed. Not recommend for Transit Stay. - >Terrible Transfer Service Don't use this hotel for Transit Stay. We had confirmed our arrival flight beforehand but nobady was at the airport. We had to wait for more than one hour even if it was at 11pm and we have 2-year old kid. We tried to contact the hotel by telephone and email many times but nobody answered. After we could contact the hotel , the staff said the driver is already at the aiport, but it seems to be cheating because we had to wait for a long time after we could contact them. Also, the hotel driver IGNORE everything. we asked him if he is a hotel driver but he didn't answer, just look us and drove. (the hotel's acquaintance male took us to this driver's car) After we arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff didn't apologize for the delay. He just said " It is not so late" and many excuses.... It was Very Much Dishonesty. >Room Room facilities is good but there were many ants in the room, we couldn't take off shoes. Also there was Mosquito and Fly, even some Larva. >Uncomfortable service for Breakfast There was no guest in a restaurant when we went for the breakfast, but the staff didn't allow us to use 4 people table even we asked for. then we had to hug our 2-year-kid and ate. The quality of breakfast is good. >Duplicate charge FInally, they request us to pay for Room charge at check out even we had already paid through EXPEDIA. Also, they didn't prepare for the transfer to the airport AGAIN even we confirmed beforehand. We had to wait again.

- Tim (8/5): Beautiful relaxing hotwl - We stayed here for 1 night at the end of our honeymoon. The hotel was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was fantastic - we had the seafood platter as a last night treat and the Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning with the best dahl we had ever tasted!! Only 2 slight quibbles with the food: we were not told that we had to order the 18 dish Sri Lankan curry in advance and there was no fruit or juice with breakfast.

The jacuzzi had some mysterious stains though (dunno if they was removable since I didn't use it). Transport to and from the airport was included, however the dogs at night was a pain barking.
- Bruce (10/5): Great Service - Arrived at hotel to stay for one night before flying home. The facility is great in every way. What impressed us most was the additional service Amila provided. Extra luggage stored no problem. Additional bbed in room and an offer to set up dinner for our group poolside. Great ambience there. Strong recommendation all round.

- Rosalind (10/5): Superb hotel, with excellent, cannot fault it - Arrived at The Tranquil and had a lovely welcome and soon settled in. The staff are second to none and the food is amazing. I am Vegan and had no problems in ordering food to cater for me. Loved the pool, very quiet and relaxing away from all the hustle like big hotels blocking sunbeds with beach towels. In fact for those who love personal attention and away the big hotels whose food is self serve this is a 'must'. It is a huge thank you to all who we befriended during out stay. So loved it will def be returning next year.
- jürgen (8/5): Schönes kleines Boutiquehotel - Schönes kleines Boutiquehotel, sehr zuvorkommende freundliche Leitung , gutes Bett ,schöner Pool,gutes Frühstück, ideal für die erste oder letzen Tage vor dem Rückflug nach Europa. Relaxte Atmosphäre. Einziges Problem war es das Hotel zu finden. Etwas abgelegen aber dafür sehr sauber. Bitte die GPS Koordinaten für die Anreise angeben Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

They packed us food to take with us because the flight was so early which was lovely. Reception staff could improve their English skills but otherwise a comfortable stay.

Slapped a 17.6 % tax for a dinner and 10% which is automatic in Sri Lanka. The hotel otherwise quite ok but not a 4/5 star as rated. Staff on the surface quite helpful. On the day of arrival 6 prisoners escaped from nearby prison!!.

This hotel.checked that box but was also ao much more…by FAR our best stay in the country. In our 23 days in Sri Lanka we came to dread checking into hotels as there was always some problem with our reservation, or horribly long check-in or substandard rooms and service. We were thrilled to be checked in efficiently to tastefully decorated, sparkling clean rooms and to find not only a pool but also a trampoline and darts to occupy the kids. Both dinner and breakfast were extravagant affairs and all of us, including the other family we traveled with, were very impressed at both the service provided and the quality of meals. I will definitely recommend this place to our friends who plan to travel to Sri Lanka in October!

- Henrik (6/5): Nytt men fel läge och barnsjukdomar - Helt nytt litet hotell med 6 rum (2 månader när vi var där mars -16). Ligger lite avsides men har en bra tuk tuk service (gratis) till stranden och ett samarbetshotell (Golden Star beach). Relativt dyr restaurang, men bra. Fantastisk pool som man njuter av bådeunder dagen och kvällen då den är fint upplyst. Vi hade bokat balkong med pool view men fick ingen balkong och utsikt mot grannarnas bakgård... Kompenserades efter en lång diskussion med sen utcheckning vilket passade oss. Barnsjukdomar i form av byggfusk. Vatten över badrumsgolvet då fallet felgjort. A/C riktad mot sängen så man låg i drag hela tiden. Problem med lås av dörr... Helt enkelt inte bra värde för pengen
- marion (10/5): tranquil hotel with a wow factor - Beautiful small hotel privately owned, with 6 luxury rooms, in an enclosed garden area with natural saltwater pool and comfortable loungers. All excellent, beautiful gardens, clean rooms and very friendly staff. Food is delicious, a la carte meals, but there are other restaurants nearby in the centre of the resort itself. A driver and tuktuk, are available for a small charge to take guests to the resort/beach. The owners have another hotel on the beach front called Golden Star, which guests can use. Highly recommended, and we would not hesitate to return.
- Sandrica (10/5): Perfect, peaceful stay - Can't say enough about the level of service at Tranquil. Staff went out of their way to arrange excursions and transport. They have an on staff tuk tuk which makes things easy despite not being within walking distance to the beach. Food is fantastic, room is spacious and immaculate, and the pool is lovely.

- Barry (10/5): Tranquility in Negombo - After a long flight from London it makes sense to crash for a night or 2 in Negombo - Tranquil is brand new, a converted colonial house. Staff were attentive, providing a free welcome drink and swift check in. The neighbourhood is approx 10 mins tuk tuk to the beach. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel, food was superb. We didn't try the pool but it looked lovely. Would definitely repeat next time we're in SL.

Staff were very friendly and helpful- especially the manager and owner! Lovely location in a nice quiet street but only 5 minute drive to the beach. Would stay again!!!
- Julien (10/5): Hôtel parfait pour détente proche de l'aéroport - Hôtel récent et ça se sent (pour le sri lanka). Très bon accueil, personnel aux petits soins, très bon restaurant et petit-déjeuner. Très conciliant (nous avions un vol le lendemain dans la nuit et ils nous ont permis de rester la journée entière suivant notre nuit à l'hôtel). Nous avons séjourné dans un chambre double en RDC côté jardin, très bonne literie, chambre tendance et salle d'eau design. Seul petit hic pour notre chambre, prévoir boules quies (route à côté et malgré que ça soit un hôtel récent, l'isolation n'est pas la même qu'en France...) et quelques avions de passage (normal) en étant si près de l'aéroport, mais cela n'a gâché en rien notre séjour dans cet hôtel. Piscine très agréable et extérieur soigné. À 2 kms de la plage (un peu long à pied, prenez tuk-tuk plus pratique). Idéal pour farniente!!
