The rooms are gorgeous, the drinks and food were amazing, and the fitness center was absolutely top notch. What made it even better was the staff!! I've never had this level of customer service and kindness and I've stayed at some top notch hotels. If you're looking in downtown Portland, highly highly recommend.. 👍🏻💯💯👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- cynthiacZ4570GI (8/5): Completlely remodled old hotel downtown - We did not stay the full night as we were only there to dress for a formal event we were attending. However we rested and were in the room for four or five hours and go a good feel for the experience. As the building is rather old I believe, the rooms ceilings and walls have been striped down to the structural supports, though some local wood had been added to soften the effect. As someone who doesn't care for the "industrial" esthetic I can say though not huge the room was comfortable enough and seemed to be kept in good order, I did not find fault with the mattress and rested easily. The bathroom could use more lighting but it was adequate for evening makeup and very elaborate hair.

A bit loud but you are downtown Portland. Could use some TLC in the room. Stains on the furniture could be cleaned very easily and the TV needs replaced. Manager even said so on the television. lol
- SC_Globetrotter (8/5): Lovely spot in downtown! - Great spot downtown, sitting atop the iconic Huber’s restaurant. Drew, at registration, was fabulous. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. The place itself has a cool, modern vibe. Our room was on the top floor and had high concrete ceilings. The gym is on the basement level and had ample equipment. The lighting was too dim for my taste and other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

- enriquetG3316LX (10/5): Some minimal details - Everything was fine at first, they gave me a different room than I requested, but I let it be known at the reception and they quickly solved the problem and gave me the one I had chosen, then I have a higher charge than I had scheduled and the receptionist told me that it is a temporary charge and that I would be reimbursed at the end of the stay but they have not yet reimbursed me for that extra charge, I hope it does not take longer than necessary.

The staff at the front desk were super friendly and welcoming, which set the tone right away. When we stopped by the bar, Vivi was such a delight to chat with—she was incredibly engaging and made our afternoon even better. The only small drawback was that one of the elevators was out of service, which made wait times a bit longer. Even so, it didn’t take away from the overall experience, and we would definitely choose to stay here again on future visits.

The rooms were spacious for a downtown hotel, the beds were so comfy, excellent shower pressure, spotlessly clean, the AC worked great, and the staff were so helpful from directions to donuts to complimentary bottled water on our way out the door each morning (it was so hot outside!) We were an easy walk to Powell Books, excellent food trucks, lots of cute shops. The valet parking is offsite and requires a ~10 minute heads up depending on traffic for them to drive back. We would stay here again if visiting the city.

- gqjustin (8/5): - I stayed here with a group of friends in July (2025). I booked directly with Marriott finding that to be the best rate, using a AAA discount. I selected this hotel because it was recently opened (newer) and in a great location. I took the Amtrak train into town, so I didn’t need to park a vehicle. However, there is a pay lot next-door to the hotel that sells parking for about $26 for a 24 hour period. We booked several rooms. Upon arrival there were some snags getting the names attached to the correct rooms. The hotel apparently overlooked the email I had sent them explaining which confirmation numbers to attach to which name. It took some time to figure it all out, but I think we finally got there. Despite that issue, I found the front desk staff to be nice. The hotel permitted an early check-in without an added fee. The room I was assigned was on the fourth floor facing the main street. I guess you could call this a city view room. The first thing I noticed, and didn’t appreciate, was that the room had an adjoining door to the room next door. I strongly believe that it’s best practice for the front desk to ask if this is okay with you or not before assigning you to such a room. I decided to do my best to ignore the oversight and move forward. Overall, the rooms are on the compact size, but functional enough. The rooms are modern and clean. There are some cosmetic blemishes starting to show with use, but still, being a newer property, it shines. I appreciated that the room had a desk area and clothing iron. The beds, while comfy, were low to the ground, which I personally don’t like. Housekeeping seemed to be on-demand, which wasn’t explained to me at check-in. However, I was only there for a weekend, so this didn’t really affect my stay. The hotel was down an elevator. So, it was a struggle waiting for elevators. I took the stairs when I could, but that wasn’t always practical if you needed to go directly to the lobby, vs. out to the street. I did stop by the fitness center, which I found to be better equipped, and with higher quality equipment, than a typical hotel gym. The bar staff were great, and it made for a fun place to hangout. Likewise, the lobby has a welcoming vibe with a fun “porch” swing. A late check-out was quickly shot down by the front desk staff. I think there are some areas for improvement. Perhaps quickly fix any down elevators by calling in a service tech, even if outside of typical business hours. It might be helpful to inform guests at check-in if they are going to have an adjoining room, and how the housekeeping system works. I would stay here again, but keep an eye on how well Marriott keeps-up the property.

There was also a desk and a corner couch. The room felt very big and comfortable. The staff were amazing. The day bartender (Tyler) was a super friendly and helpful person, who told us of places we needed to visit or go to eat. I would stay here again any time that we are in Portland.

Walkable to the waterfront, the Saturday market, and prime shopping. Staff were gracious and friendly. The lobby area, bar and restaurant were all comfortable haven after a day out. Would stay again!

I asked for a fan and that was a slight remedy but the noise it created didnt help create and ambiance. Why include a thermostat in the room if you wont allow the customer to set it to where it makes them feel comfortable?

Water pressure and heat of water was on point. Room was set up wonderfully. You will need to pay for parking no matter what, I chose the lot across the street and paid 24 hours at a time, a little cheaper than their valet parking but not locked up.
- tyj388 (10/5): Great Spot in Downtown Portland - The Hi-Lo was a great choice for a weekend vacation in Portland. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful for any requests. Sam was great checking us in and even checking on a potential upgrade. Tyler at the bar was exceptional in his service and drink suggestions (Purple Skyline is excellent). Additionally the location is great if you're looking for plentiful food options nearby. The Midtown Beer Garden just down the block was a go-to spot throughout the weekend. Plus you're a short walk away from the Waterfront and a easy bus/rail line to Washington Park. Exceptional place to stay and we'll be coming back here again.

- 334vinaa (4/5): Will stay somewhere else - I expected more from this hotel after staying at other Autograph hotels by Marriott. Room decor is cold and not inviting. Sheets are a bit stiff, scratchy and not comfortable. Parking at hotel is only valet service. Parking is almost $60 for one night which is ridiculous. Also hotel is not in a good location. Will not stay here again. Only thing we liked is the personable valet guy/doorman.

- G8469DJmaryg (10/5): Great Weekend Trip - Great stay! Check in was easy and valet was convenient. The lobby was beautiful, the tree attracted a few selfie seekers that I saw. We shopped and ate, enjoyed Portland. Miss Sam at the front desk helped us procure mixers and Mr Chris was helpful in getting my streaming service on the room TV. I ended up ordering room service for a late night snack and it was sooo good! They have beignets!! I wish I tried dinner there. The bed was pretty comfy and the room was immaculate, it looked brand new. I worried about noise but no issues for me in a Saturday night. I did eat breakfast at CraftPDX and the pancakes are better than at Kingsland. Delicious.

- V7629HPmarcom (10/5): Biz Trip - Great staff !! … Verlyn was very helpful. Their Events Coordinator, Natalie N was super accommodating for my last minute meeting conference room request. Lastly, Vivian working the lounge had fantastic dinner and wine pairing recommendations. One recommendation would be to add more lumens to the gym lighting. It was a little dark.

I’ve stayed here yearly for past 5 years and love coming back. Love the modern, high ceiling bedrooms and elegant bathrooms with quality rainfall shower. breakfast at craft pdx cafe always amazing!

- casseeg2024 (8/5): Decent Hotel - has pros and cons - The front desk was amazing. Restaurant service was lacking at dinner and breakfast time. I had dinner, apparently during a photo shoot, and the service was very slow.... We almost walked out. I thought breakfast would be better with no photoshoot in sight, but service was still very slow. The bar and check-in staff were great, just really slow dinner and breakfast service.
