• farwester (10/5): - Benson Lodge was a peaceful and comfortable place to stay for a couple nights. Set in pretty gardens and tucked away behind screening fences, it is private, exceptionally clean, had quality furnishings and linens, was well appointed with soaps, body washes etc, and had a nice continental breakfast supplied. Beats a motel stay hands down! We'd happily stay again. Nothing not to like.

• Claire (8/5): Small but cute and quiet cottage-style studio with everything provided for an overnight stay. - Convenient location near the main street and amenities, but still very quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the small dining table/chairs were a nice touch, although the main room was quite small. The bathroom was spacious, clean and modern, and the extra heater was appreciated in there! The continental breakfast in the room offered several choices, and the fresh milk provided made a nice change from the little UHT pots that many places provide. The "view" was out to a small courtyard garden furnished with a small table and chairs, which was small but cute. The communications from the hosts were clear and helpful. Although there was room to move around, the main room was more compact than we expected.

• BlueLincs (9/5): Great for overnight or short stay, facilities are all that is required and it's close to the centre. - The property provides many breakfast options, with a choice of a couple of cereals and crumpets. Ample spreads are available and all are neatly contained in a closet. There is very little to criticize and it would be nit picky to do so. The bed is soft, which I like, but some may prefer a harder one. Otherwise nothing.

• Colleen (9/5): Great quiet spot for a stay to discover Benalla. - We enjoyed our Benson House o/n stay as it was easy to access and had a great supply of utensils and yummy food to select for a continental breakfast. We enjoyed sitting outside in the lovely garden setting for our morning cuppa and breakfast. It was a short walk to a local cafe and a short bike ride to the great Lake Benalla Walking Track (definitely worth the time to do the circuit on foot or on a bike). Ray welcomed us via text and gave clear instructions for our arrival. It was very easy to park and there was room for the bikes too. Everything good!

Provision of plastic microwavable bowls could prove very handy ie for heating food.

• Ian (9/5): Very comfortable well presented room for our overnight visit - Location was good and room was excellent. It was clean, comfortable, modern. The charging station for phones, etc was a great touch (annoying looking for power points in hotel rooms at the best of times) and appreciated. Continental breakfast was also very good. Nothing comes to mind.
• Tanya (4/5): - The owner was very nice and accommodating - clear communications and turned the a/c on before our arrival. On a 44-degree day, it was invaluable. The bedding was of a great quality, and the location was quiet and private. Checking in was easy. The lodge is tiny; it is most definitely not a 1-bedroom apartment. It is rather like a small motel/hotel room. It does not even have a kitchenette, no sink, no stove. Simple tasks, such as washing fruit or filling up a bottle, are problematic with only a bathroom sink (and not very hygienic either). Not sure whether glowing reviews were for the Benson House, but the lodge was disappointing.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, das Bett bequem, es war Kaffee, Tee und was zum Frühstück vorhanden. Was wir sehr gut fanden, auch frische Blumen auf dem Tisch zeigen das die Gastgeber auf nette Kleinigkeiten achten.

We were caught in a traffic accident & Ray went it & turned the AC on so it would be cool upon our arrival. We will be back when next travelling through Benalla.

We were in Benalla for a funeral, and Ray made this difficult time easier by giving us access to our room to freshen up after a long drive.
