Guest Reviews
- Margaret (9/5): Attractive peaceful and rural. - Very convenient to the Hume but quiet and rural.
Friendly host.
Beautiful furnishings and decor inside and outside.
Breakfast hamper well presented. Couldn’t find a tidy bin in the bathroom
- Christine (10/5): Amazing unique place to stay for a few days . - Stunning unique property for a family group. Very lovely hosts Karen and Phil . Very cute cottage with very comfortable beds and sumptuous sofas . The resident peacock was adorable. Great other space for the kids to stay nearby . Lots to see in the area close to Beechworth and Rutherglen All Saints Winery among the mix. Hope to visit again 1 day. Nothing
- Patrick (9/5): A lovely relaxed environment for a stay. We wish we had more time to stay longer. Maybe next time - All the essentials were there for breakfast
- Joseph (8/5): Comfortable and accomodating - It was a rustic and quaint place. Quite big and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. It was only about 10 kms from the nearest town with restaurants and supermarkets. The toilets were not located in situation. It was inconvenient to go out in the cols to the toilet in the middle of the night. The bedroom could have done with a heater.
- William (10/5): - The location was great and the roaming animals were a hit with the kids.
- white (10/5): Had a beautiful unexpected stay and very restful. - I love the farm feel, quiet, beautiful Nil
- Beata (9/5): - Lovely place, beautiful location, everything you may need was provided. Nil
- white (10/5): Serene, calm restful - Rustic charm, country Nothing
- David (8/5): I get safe rested and enjoyed the country experience - Quiet rustic and clean … nice lounge room and choice of bed No issues …
- Kerry (8/5): - The setting of the property was great quiet, spacious, great linen & towels, left eggs from their chooks with other breakfast provisions we weren't expecting
Lovely vintage decor. The resident peacock came to visit. The aircon wasn't working well.
Be aware at night many timy insects came out attracted to the light. Maybe have the rooms s pop rayed by pest control.
- Olav (9/5): - Very large unit. Interesting surrounding with many animals
- Leigh (10/5): -
- Jayne (9/5): Spacious unit about 10 mins drive from rutherglen - Very spacious and nicely decorated . Eggs and bread/ milk left for us in the fridge. We had our own supplies but that was very nice. Could make guests feel more welcoming by sweeping all the dirt and leaves from the outside of the door and veranda area as it seemed uncared for . Fire Alarm kept beeping every minute. Contacted hosts who eventually replied. But after a while my husband got up on a chair and disconnected it. Not a problem as battery was low.
- Anne (10/5): Great place to stay. - We loved our stay, Phil went above and beyond to get reception on the TV getting on the roof in 39c heat.
Everything you n Ed is in the unit, full kitchen with fresh eggs, bread, butter and milk for breakfast, the animals were a real bonus. Highly recommended. Nothing.
- Jeanette (8/5): Karen the host was lovely. The position was central to some great towns and wineries - Beautiful spot, the peacock was an added bonus
So was the 2 large comfy couches. Coffee choice could have been better

- Jo (9/5): Thanks for a terrific overnight stay. Tea and toast on arrival. A good nights sleep and back on the road after a breakfa - Great ambiance. Loved the cottage -
- Joyce (9/5): - A wonderful countryside stay with a warm farmhouse feel. The kids loved the friendly peacock, and Karen (the owner) kindly showed them the chicken shed on our first day. We were grateful for early access to the Buttery Nook, and Karen was always quick to respond to any questions. We came inland for nature and quiet, and this spot delivered—close to hikes, waterholes, waterfalls, and rivers. A perfect family escape. Highly recommend.

- Ewa (8/5): great stay - location and history could be a bit cleaner
- Joanne (8/5): Beautifully quaint. Just a nice distance away from the local towns. - Lovely location. There's a peacock, chickens and some possums. So it's a good place for kiddies and adults who like animals etc. The place was roomy and nicely decorated. There was even books if you felt like reading. No need to worry about cars getting broken into or stolen as it's quite secluded but it's also easy to find. We stayed there while attending a car show. Plenty of car space and also some nice spots to take pictures. We took a few of our car but there are some nice back grounds for any pictures. Spiders!!!!! lol. The first night we were there, a large spider decided to come in and say hello. Luckily for me there was some spray in the unit! The ones outside don't bother me. We were woken by some banging on the roof possibly by possums. They sounded like they were having a great time. hehe! :-) None of this would stop me from staying there again.
