Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Very good
- Danny (10/5): - The staff were chill in n out only met 1 neighbor he was chill polite i would definitely stay again. In all honesty this is probably the BEST PLACE I STAYED AT IN THE DESERT, I PROMISE IVE HAD BAD EXPERIENCE ALL OVER THE DESERT N THIS PLACE IS DRAMA FREE HASSLE FREE
- Renee (8/5): - Rooms were clean
- Kelley (10/5): - Very quiet and excellent staff.
- Young H (10/5): - Very clean
- Ana (10/5): - Quiet and relaxing
- Carissa (8/5): -
- Allison (4/5): - Probably one of the most annoying places I’ve stayed in. I feel bad saying this but I have to be completely honest. Unlike the majority of the good reviews this was not an amazing place to stay at… The manager of the property was almost never in his office for one, also the pool was very dirty and the water itself made you feel like you needed to take two showers after jumping in. The rooms AC unit wasn’t even working properly… and it was 110 outside during our stay. How can you have a broken AC Unit in weather like that? The cable channels were all locked until they suddenly ALL unlocked on our last night.. I definitely don’t recommend this place. It was also not worth $150 a night!!
- Rowan (10/5): Cute and fun. - Wow. What an amazing time we had. Place was super cute, pool is lovely, and clean, has a hot tub.
Was very surprised at how cute and nice this place was for us. We were in room 2.
- Kathryn (8/5): - Furniture was lovely, but everything else was a little worn and dusty.
- jorge (10/5): - Clean comfortable rooms. Good location
- Kelley (10/5): - Excellent staff.
- Jeffery (10/5): Getaway - We enjoyed the quaint room. Very comfortable and private. And clean.
- ty (10/5): - Nice spot. Will stay again.
- Gaylene (6/5): - Photo's a bit deceiving on what type of room you will actually be occupying and location within the city. For the most part it was clean but OLD.
- Bo (10/5): - Very nice little property, clean room, nice manager.
- Edward (8/5): - Great Livingroom and full kitchen. Pool wasn't heated, too cold to get in.
- ROBERT (10/5): - Great
- Lynn (10/5): Nice spot - Really cute vintage oversized room. Nice outdoor area. It was a quiet street also.
- Theodore (10/5): Really good deal - For the money you spend here you get a nice place with a balcony and a very comfortable room. The bathroom is kinda meh but they can’t really change that - what they could control they did a really good job with. I’d stay here again.
- Manish (10/5): - Very nice place.
- Luke (10/5): - It’s a great hidden gem. Thank you!
- Sayaka (8/5): - The location was great and the bed was very comfortable!!… but would be better to have below…
-More hot water for the shower
-Bigger TV
-Upgrade on cooking pans
-Little heater in the living room…kind of cold at night in late November
- Natalie (10/5): - Thank you had a great time and very quiet.
- Cheryl (8/5): - The property is older, but staff are courteous and helpful. Great location and reasonably priced.
- Miranda (10/5): - The room was great and staff was friendly.
- jorge (4/5): - The walls were awfully thin, no breakfast, pool was dirty, the facility needs a major upgrade. I would rate this place a 1 out of 5. Overall the facility appears out of shape and gross on the outside. Didn’t feel safe, nor comfortable! Couldn’t even get a good night sleep due to the noisy neighbors upstairs.
- Andy (2/5): - Front desk left property I was there for only 2 hrs left my I'd I called n text him he told me he can't come open my door cause he left I told him I left my I'd n debit card. And he never responded bk he said are office is close so if some one loses there keys is that wt u say to them n leave them locked out from there rooms

We chose here for a last min inexpensive get away… booked at 11am, pulled into the car port at 3;30 … no one at the office- we hung around a while, fortunately when we called -they answered, (we’d have left angrily if they’d not answered)
Room had Fabulous modern TV’s. The bed was super comfy & excellent white bedding. Villa had full kitchen & small bathroom., it has a back door leading to a small back patio (perfect for our dog)
The villa rooms are directly outside the pool/patio area which we loved & went in the pool first thing in the early am & last thing at night which has warm water pool as it gets full sun all day.
This hotel is a family run which is being worked on. 20 mins to PS Downtown. Yes there’s a boarded up hotel on the street, looks a little sketchy, this hotel will/is improving. I’m sure when all the work is done & perfect, the prices will be doubled)
We believe in giving any family run business (hotels) a chance - there’s always things you can find or dislike but we tend to overlook these things (the Best Western is same price, down the road -everything is ‘in order’ but you won’t have the uniqueness & charm of this quirky little gem. We would totally stay again. The price is reasonable.
- Dulce (8/5): Fine - The pool was nice and that was the only reason we stayed there. Because it’s a small place, the front desk wasn’t really available unless you called the office. But they did provide us with what we needed when we asked. There was also little bugs around the fridge, which weren’t a big deal but it was a bit unpleasant when I found them around my food and had to throw it out.
It was a nice gateway for the price, but like I said, I was only interested in the pool, which didn’t disappoint.
- Kim (10/5): My little Villa - Super clean. Amazing beds & pillows. Secluded, private, quiet, like your own personal villa.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My husband and I arranged a stay here and then changed our mind and tried to call and cancel that same day. The policy through Expedia states that the only way to cancel is to do so through calling the hotel. The site was unreachable after a few attempts, we ended up staying somewhere else and later that night around 6:30pm I had a missed call with a voicemail from this location. This is unprofessional and no way to run a place of business.
Upon further review and investigation this location is run down, across the street from a sketchy abandoned apartment complex and the online photos of this hotel are not up to date and do not meet the current conditions.
Recommendation of this facility will not be given and the safety of the location and its surroundings are highly questionable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - there was no one available at front desk until 3 pm. no one answered phones. my front door didn’t lock and i had to leave room open till 3 pm. I called 15?.times during day and no one answered
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Getaway. Super comfy Bed. Beautiful Studio. Pool was heated and small but pleasant.
- Nicole (2/5): Nope - Did not stay
No one on property to help
No front desk walked around for 30 minutes in heat
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was across the street from a large boarded up apartment complex with only a 4 or 5 off street parking spaces of their own. The pool had lots of debris and the pool seating cushions were badly stained. Filthy windows/sliding doors on most of the rooms and my room, "the villa", had a cleanser smell so terrible I couldn't even stay there. No screens on the windows or sliding doors. There were also pubic hairs they failed to clean up from a previous guest in the bathroom. I stayed, mostly outside, for a couple of hours and just could not stand the smell and knew there was no way I could sleep with the smell, so the dogs and I made the 3 hour drive home instead.
The "office" is only open from 3:00-10:00 pm and the place looked deserted when I arrived at 2:15. It felt unsafe and I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling telling me not to stay. SINGLE FEMALES SHOULD STEER CLEAR!
I would give this property 0 stars, not 2 stars. Shame on Expedia. They won't fool me again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best kept secret in Palm Desert. It's a little hotel with Palm Springs charm.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I thought the room was beautiful and well stocked with amenities. The pool area lovely and cozy. However I think it’s a stretch to run a description saying that there is a deli on site. I certainly didn’t see one at the pool. I did see a stock of snacks for sale at the desk in the office. But it’s definitely a great deal for the money and I would stay there again.
- Michael (10/5): 5 stars - Had an amazing stay at rhe village. Ive stayed at many hotels and this place is by far the most comfortable and cozy hotel yet, the staff is amzing and the pool and fire pit area is beautiful 😍 definitely coming back as the go to place from now on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no one there at the office to check me in during their posted hours. Came back twice. Called their phone got a recording said mail box full call back. I went to another hotel
- anthony (6/5): - It was okay. No ice machine. The place has potential, but improvements need to happen, update alot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value and clean - The Village is a great value. As others have noted, it's not the fanciest place in the area but it was very clean and comfortable. My husband thought it was very nice! The rooms have access from the outside which was nice especially during covid. The pool deck is charming and a nice place to hang out with a cup of coffee in the morning or a beer in the afternoon.
- Nicolette (8/5): Birthday getaway - Great location close to the zoo and comfy.
- Diana (10/5): The Village - Amazing room, very clean and comfortable. The updates made this older hotel feel VERY comfortable and cozy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The pool area was exactly as pictured in the advertisement. From the moment we walked in the office we were greeted with such a warm welcoming that it felt like we had be reunited with an old friend. We where taken around to the property then to our room . We then were offered assistance to the car to bring our belongings up to our room. I loved the small scale setting with the big flare of color and design.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Did the villa. Kitchen was great and also had a personal back patio. Although the walls were REALLY thin. Literally could hear everything going on above us
- Nancy (10/5): Mature, Comfy and Cozy Hotel - This hotel is small and cozy. Although it was an older style building it was comfortable. This is not a luxurious hotel, but it has everything you need for an overnight stay. I also felt safe. The biggest plus was that the manager was very accommodating and did all he could to make our stay pleasant.
- James (2/5): Never stay here - Arrived shortly after 10, doors were locked, no one answered the phone. This was after I called and told them I would be a little late and i was told that someone would be there. They refuse to refund my money when I didn’t even get to stay there
- Felecia (8/5): I'll stay again - The only problem is with the office hours. When you go to check out there is no one to assist. The office is only open 2pm-10pm. So you have to call the number and wait for someone to arrive.
- Richard (4/5): Did your family write the reviews!? - Very disappointed! The pictures are deceiving! The property is run down and poorly maintained. The property managers live on site and were very loud and arguing late at night. Our room was clean and comfortable but that's the only good thing I could say about our stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - convenient to El Paseo shopping and Cactus Jack's!!
- Mark (8/5): - Overall nice room, bathroom was so small though had to close door to do anything and ceiling needed repaire
- robert (8/5): Nice surprise. - Funky but really pleasant. Only downside is the abandoned confos across the street. Looks like developer ran out of money. Staff was great and room was a little dated but comfortable. Staff even offered to go to store for me!
- sean (8/5): Cosy retreat - This is an annual destination for me to hang out with friends. It is above all else clean, which is most important to me. The place is a little older, but has been kept well with some modest renovations. The bathrooms are small, but everything works like it should, and plenty of hot water. The pool is always clean and the grounds are always maintained. The location is great. Very close to shopping, restaurants and bars, but far enough away from everything that it stays very quiet at night. I will continue to stay here every year as long as they keep it maintained as is.
- Dana (2/5): Horrible Service - Very Disappointed! First the pool was closed when it was suppose to be open, and it was absolutely filthy! Then we were not served breakfast as was stated on the website. This hotel was very deceiving, the room was filthy the floors were filthy! And the people running it were very rude! Never will I stay here again. They could have offered a discount since we didn’t get what we paid for, but they didn’t. Horrible Place!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The air conditioning didn’t work. Shower wouldnt shut all the way do the noise of the water falling kept me up all night. They did allow me to check in early
- Bekah (2/5): - On such a hot day it would have been nice to have ice and a working AD unit. Hell a cold shower would’ve be nice. Upon check in, I was told that Armando would be coming to look into the issue with the shower. Unfortunately he never showed. The overall room was nice with the exception of the AC unit not working. As the day got hotter, the conditions became miserable. Going outside to the pool sounded great until we saw all the nats swimming in the water. Nor was there a pool net to clean those nasty critters out
Final reason I will not return is because I was asked to leave around 9pm. When I ask Armando the reason that he was making me leave he stated that I had too many people in and out of my unit which personally did not have anybody in and out of my unit and he also stated that my door was open 29 times so just curious who is he sitting there watching the cameras to see how many times a day open my door will have you been by at the earlier part of the day to fix the shower in the room probably wouldn’t have been so hot AC probably would’ve worked and I know I didn’t open the door that many times but the room was hot it was miserable and the pool was dirty and cannot be cleaned therefore the overall conditions went from great to lousy: Let’s see If he honors his word and refunds my money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): HIDDEN GEM! Love this place! - Wow, I was so pleasantly surprised at how cute, comfy and welcoming this hotel was! The check-in manager was very friendly, the room was super clean and big - and the A/C and WiFi worked really well. The pool felt like a mini spa, and the other guests were very respectful. Free parking is always a bonus.
- Thomas (4/5): just ok - The room was spacious but the ac was super noisy and the pool area wasn't clean .
- Darryl (10/5): - very friendly manager- lots of character in the property
- Anthony (10/5): Getaway - Great little place to get away from the nonsense. Walk to the store. Relax by the pool. Quite and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The pool was right outside of the doors very little occupancy and it was quiet.
- Home (2/5): Pissed - I was charged for smoking in my room, when clearly they saw me outside
- MichaelMcPherso (10/5): - The room was excellent and spacious. The staff were super helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small, private, great location. Much like renting your own apartment or condo.
- Bobo (6/5): - Location was good, crowded room and noise a problem.
- Gerald (8/5): Small, quiet motel - good value - We were a bit nervous upon arrival as the presentation from the street is not very good. But the staff was accommodating and nice. Our room was dated in some areas and up to date in others, especially comfortable beds. The motel is quiet and intimate. They seem to be updating as they go.
For the price, we found it to be a good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bed and linens were very comfortable. Quiet room, decorated nicely. Centrally located for me, with McCallum Theater and nearby shopping. Located in a residential area, possibly a converted apt building. I enjoyed my stay.
- Waldemar (8/5): Good place that needs a little work - This is a decent place, clean and run by friendly people. The bed was very comfortable. Could use an upgrade as carpets and fixtures are worn. Also the Wifi was slow at best.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Extremely dirty, wifi did not work in rooms, staff did not speak English well and I struggled to understand them, we could hear footsteps above us and people talking nonstop, the pool furniture was old and dirty, and we truly felt unsafe.
- MIchael (8/5): - All good no complaints nice and quiet us cozy clean convenient
- Melissa (6/5): Nice for the price - It was ok, the hotel had construction going on, but the room inside was nice and clean. For the money, it was fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super cute property and quiet. Our room was unique and it was like having our own little apartment. Why go to a normal, boring motel when you can have this for the same price? Add some color in your life! Will definitely go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the price, the room was very acceptable. You could tell they wanted you to be happy.
- Stephanie (10/5): Great location and host! - Host was amazing! Very accommodating. We were on a bicycle tour and left our pocket knife - they mailed it to us. We had a kitchen, dining area, couch and queen bed in separate room. Nice common area courtyard with swimming pool and hot tub. Nice smaller hotel with a homey feel. Just what we needed!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I have stayed at this property several times and have always enjoyed it. This time, however, even though I called in advance to inform them that I would be a "late check-in" (between 10-10:30PM) and was assured that this was "no problem", no one was there and I had to scramble to find alternate lodging. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We only needed a place for one night, the entrance needed work, so did the pool. But we were very surprised by the room. Best bed ever and super pillows. (I would like to know where they bought them) I need some.
The rest of the room was great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very quiet, large room, comfortable bed
Strange ambiance, hot tub not, windows that open(a plus), good price
- Sherry (8/5): - Location is Clean, Trendy and Nice & Quiet, Perfect little hide away. Absolutely Love Owner Armando. He goes above yo make you feel comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value. Nice area. Quiet. Clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I'll be back for sure. The location is perfect, close to the store, the bars and El paseo for all your shopping needs
- Yesenia (4/5): - It was close and centralized. I didn’t like that the description of the place didn’t include that it was an apartment complex converted to motel rooms. Misleading information.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was able to walk right into my room on arriving and leave when I was ready to check out
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was accommodating and very friendly. I like the vibe of the place. The street it is on a very dark street which makes it seem a little sketchy but the neighborhood was very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely low key property. The staff was great and we had a relaxed and enjoyable time in our beautiful unit.
- Baron (10/5): - Very clean and calm atmosphere. It is a hidden gem
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I've stayed here many times, but the room I was in needed a deep cleaning. The carpet was badly stained in many places, and the bamboo flooring need to be actually CLEANED. The AC/heat is nearly impossible to figure out and at one point began leaking water onto the floor. THE BED is as hard a s stone and NEEDS A TWO INCH FOAM TOPPER. My back was killing me all night. Finally I paid a lot more than I usually do for this room. Probably won't be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was A nice and quiet place. Staff was friendly and polite
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pickleball Hotel - Was in town for one night. Like the small quiet hotel. Needs a little upgrading but nice overall. Will go back for sure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute unique hotel, will definitely come back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was very nice and comfortable .Bathroom could use a little upgrade
T V was hard to navigate between the two remotes
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very nice and cozy setting. The check in was different from others hotels but not horrible. I will come back.
- William (8/5): - Our stay was too short to enjoy the amenities....no pool time for us😎
- DL (8/5): - Cool little spot and super quiet. Kind of a “Melrose Place” Vibe. Not as new as the pictures but the staff was friendly, got a cool little upgraded room, and it was clean.
- Paul (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - The place is a converted condominium complex. The condos have been cut in half with walls to make hotel rooms. The place is ok for the price. It was quiet and the other guests were very friendly. I think some are permanent residents. The spa was cold.
- Ashot (6/5): - Pool is cold, very noisy, killing motor noise all day and night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like that it is a small complex and the style of the room I stayed in. I would definitely stay there again. Plus, having access to the pool and jacuzzi 34/7 is great!
- Alan (8/5): A Few "Reservations" - The property needs better signage. It also needs to inform incoming guests that they should be prepared for the absence of any real front desk. I arrived at 4 p.m. on a Sunday. The office was closed and I had to call a number to get someone to check me in. It would have been nice to have had an explanatory welcome letter when I made the reservation. This absence of personnel - and no one to direct inquiries to - made for a bit of an uneven stay. I couldn't get the television set to work on Sunday night (was the system down?), and tried everything. There was no one around to question. The next morning the TV worked fine. On the positive side, the room was spacious and beautifully adorned. The only negative was the lack of lighting around the bed, which made reading next to impossible. If you want an attractive room at a good price, you should consider this property. At the same time you need to know you are on your own.
- Toua (10/5): - Nice quiet neighborhood. Everytime I come to the annual insurance expo in palm desert, this is my must stay hotel. This time, the weather was perfect. I finally used the pool and jacuzzi.
Clean room, comfortable bed, and the jacuzzi is awesome!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was fine but our luggage was stolen from our car and I’ve received no follow up in getting camera film showing parking lot activity
