• John (10/5): An Excellent Experience. - Josie, the General Manager looked after my wife and I in an extremely friendly and efficient manner with nothing being too much trouble for her. Our room was comfy and well appointed with an ample and comfortable bed. Breakfast was speedily delivered and of excellent quality. We couldn't, have asked for more. Will certainly stay again when visiting this lovely and interesting part of Yorkshire. Perfect, no issues.

• Andy (10/5): - Lovely people running a fantastic B&B in a beautiful location. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable with a wet room style bathroom. Breakfast was excellent got to pick from menu and timing the night before and everything was served within 5 minutes of arriving in the breakfast room. Hosts were super helpful popped out and greeted us as we arrived, helped with local taxi's ensuring we were connected to the wifi etc. really was a very pleasant environment.

• Andrew (10/5): Probably the nicest B&B we've stayed in. - Beautiful setting, clean and comfortable facilities, and Josie was a wonderful host who went out of her way to accommodate a 5am breakfast during our stay. The breakfasts were fantastic and well organised. No negative comments about the B&B. It's a pity the Stavely Arms across the road is closed at present.

• Jan (10/5): A well run, smart and welcoming place to stay - perfect for our needs - Room was a great size and tastefully decorated with comfortable bed and armchairs. Fresh flowers and fruit plate on arrival. Breakfast was delicious on both days, with lots of choice. Check in and check out was really easy. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and will visit again! Room was too hot on the first night, but was sorted after we mentioned it the next morning.

• Sandall (10/5): Fantastic, - The Old Coach House is a beautiful building full of characters, clean, tidy and tranquil. We loved the fountain situated in the front reception garden near our room which was beautifully manicured. The rooms were beautiful, the shower with grab rails was great for my husband as he has a spinal injury and find it difficult to get in and out of a shower. The bed was lovely and comfortable. We didn’t need any heating because it was lovely and warm. We had a full English breakfast and it was lovely to hear that all food was locally sourced.

• Adam (10/5): Lovely romantic place to stay for weekend - This is an amazing little hidden gem! We booked last minute so were led by other's reviews and we weren't disappointed. Gorgeous room that included everything you could need (including a fridge) and local amenities only a 10 minute drive away. Beautiful and ample breakfast options and the host made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be returning for another stay in the future.

• Alison (7/5): - A very warm welcome and wonderful staff at the Coach House made up for some short comings with the accommodation. Comfortable if basic room, small dated bathroom - disappointed that our bed was next to a boiler- which thankfully cut off at 10.30pm - but if you had wanted an early night and are a light sleeper ( like myself ) was not what you would want when you paid for an upgraded room. Breakfast very good in a separate building to the main accommodation. Overall enjoyed the stay.

• Peter (10/5): Perfect for either a single night or few days stay. - Lovely little b&b tucked away at the end of a quiet village. Our room was very cosy with duel aspect windows and a nice comfy bed. Really quiet and perfect for our one night stay as we were visiting Fountains Abbey the following morning. Breakfast was pre-selected the night before and served in a separately converted outbuilding within the small courtyard. Staff were extremely friendly and service was excellent. Very tasty and plenty of choice. We'll certainly be returning soon. Nothing all at. The only minor thing is it's a shame there isn't a pub within walking distance as the one opposite the b&b is no longer open.

Staff welcoming and Josie was very attentive and sorted out a couple of requests straight away. Delicious breakfast on both mornings and catered for individual dietary requirements. The shape of the room led to me bumping my knee on the corner of the wooden bed frame more than once 🙄!

The beds were comfortable, water and milk provided and left in the fridge, in the room! Beautiful garden to sit in and the staff were lovely. I would definitely stay there again !!

Heel goed ontbijt met ruime keuze (voor 19h30 de avond tevoren op te geven) en heel vriendelijk ontbijt personeel. Een beetje afgelegen. Voor het avondeten moet je naar Ripon want in North Stainley is er geen horeca.

• Florian (10/5): Ein idyllisches Kleinod - Wir hatten ein geräumiges und gemütliches Zimmer im Erdgeschoss. Der Innenhof ist malerisch und man kann dort abends schön draußen sitzen. Das Frühstück war toll, besonders die selbst gemachte Marmelade. Der Frühstücksraum hat eine sehr freundliche Atmosphäre. Schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht da waren. Es gibt eigene Parkplätze und es ist ruhig. Die Betten könnten etwas bequemer sein.

• Anne (10/5): Would definitely come back - It was really lovely, spacious, and super-well equipped room, very quiet, quaint and luxurious. There was a lot of fruit, biscuits, and generous amounts of tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Heated towel rail and hooray, a full bathtub! This has nothing to do with the property, but you do have to drive to get food. There are no restaurants in the village - however, the Bull Inn in West Tanfield is superb and only a couple of minutes drive away.
