- Susee10 (6/5): Friendly hotel - We stayed at Hunters Lodge in Getna and found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, which made our visit pleasant. However, the hotel itself feels a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. Our room had a broken chair, and the shower was quite small, which was a little disappointing.
The hotel is conveniently located near a shopping outlet, but there isn’t much else to do or see in the immediate area. We arrived late and struggled to find somewhere nearby to eat, so planning ahead for meals might be a good idea.
Overall, it’s a decent place for a short stay, especially if you value friendly service, but it could use some updating to improve the overall comfort and experience.

- May (10/5): Great stay - The look of the building, linda was an exceptional hostess, and the decor was beautiful. The bed was super comfy, and the food was excellent, the history of the location is great to hear and see If you have a difficulty on stairs, do request a ground floor.
- C E (10/5): - Very friendly family hotel. We enjoyed an evening meal there too
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice warm quiet room separate from the main hotel. Evening meal was fantastic
- Jeanette (9/5): Our stay was too short but just so lovely and our Host, Linda, was most obliging and a very helpful “tour guide”. - Olde worldly and oozing lots of atmosphere which is what we were looking 🤔🤔for whilst staying in Scotland. 🤔 … Property ticked all our boxes!
- Chris (8/5): Near to outlet and smithy’s - We use this hotel as a stopover on our journey North and visit to the Blacksmith shop in Gretna Green which is very close by.
- Jared (9/5): -
- Debbie (9/5): - Loved the room & the fact there was free parking on the premises. Staff were lovely, despite me arriving an hour later than expected due to severe traffic delays & torrential rain. I would definately stay again. The only thing, and a very minor one, the continental breakfast was perfectly adequate & nice. However, there was little variety with just cereal, yogurt & toast. Porridge and/or fruit & croissants would have been good. It was good value though at £6.50 - would have paid more in a cafe or chain coffee shop. I would definately stay again & this is a minor, constructive comment.
- Lisa (9/5): Recommended - Cosy and clean hotel. Nice owners. Good tasty food. Value for money. Good location.

- Tom (10/5): -
- Ann (8/5): -
- Joyce (4/5): disappointing - Location small bedroom with very cramped shower room. had flat battery and phoned to say we wanted dinner and hoped to arrive before kitchen closed - which we did. Hostess suggested we dine en route and didn`t offer to even provide a simple light meal. Her first question on arrival was what kind of eggs do you wish for breakfast after a very long, difficult journey. breakfast was basic and buffet very limited. only 2 other guests were staying in the hotel.
- Julie (7/5): Marriage - Location Bed uncomfortable
- Gary (10/5): Great place to stay and lovely people to run and work the hotel. -
- Gary (5/5): Overall, nice enough, let down by the bathroom - Nice little family run hotel, friendly staff, good location, clean and comfortable. Worst shower I have ever come across! Not much more than a trickle coming out of it, I Kept bumping my head on the sloping roof in the bathroom and I am not that tall, it’s way too small, I would have sacrifices]d a bit more of the bedroom to make the bathroom a little bigger
- William (8/5): -
- Richard (6/5): Definitely a great location and handy for the outlet village. - Good location and quirky Highland Cow bedding. Shower room was tiny with very low ceiling height, this was due to the roof pitch of the house.
No fridge in the room.
- Sandra (8/5): -

- Ferguson (10/5): Very good - Did not have any. Nothing

Super friendly. Nothing

- jimN263EL (10/5): A very nice small hotel - I was passing through on a stop over travelling north. I had actually booked the hotel last year and my trip was postponed. Linda, the friendly proprietor, was good enough to move the booking date without penalty. I had booked a small double and the room was exactly that, with a small bathroom. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean, so much so that I had to check that there was glass in the shower by touching it! A lavazza coffee machine was a welcome bonus. Dinner was slow cooked on the aga, prepared my Linda's husband. Breakfast was excellent, and when I commented on it Linda explained that he husband was a fussy butcher. I had a good stay, and will return.
