Guest Reviews
- Richard (8/5): - Good place to stay for a budget strapped traveller. The room was clean and the food in the tavern below was good. The service was great. Now it has a shared washroom and public living space. It was a quiet nights sleep and an incredibly good price. A family group could easily crash here for a night or two. Altogether a pleasant stay.
- Catherine (8/5): - Prix abordable
- Pierre (6/5): - Quiet out of the way area.
The rooms are small and the showers are common to the 8 rooms as is a table, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, etc.
- Pierre-Marc (8/5): - The room is a bit small but once drunk, I didint really care about its size
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cozy room above the restaurant/ bar. Friendly check in , no frills, bathrooms down the hall, shared kitchen facilities, good showers & hot water- felt like staying overnight at a friend’s place or relative’s house. Bed was comfy enough and checkout was easy. Thanks!
- Steven (10/5): - It’s good for the price. Communal bathroom. Didn’t realize it at the time of booking. So I didn’t stay but it is attached to a restaurant that seems to serve good food. So it is convenient is you need to be in the area.
- Scotty (10/5): - The entire community seem to be above average happy. Snowmobiles parked like cars, my kind of place. If you smile, they smile back.
- georges (10/5): - qualité-prix A1 merci
- Chatwood (8/5): - Air-conditioner dripping water
- Thomas (10/5): - Great value.
- tijani (4/5): - Ndjdj
- Ian (8/5): - Great place if you want a quiet time. The staff is friendly and there is a bar adjoined to the rooms that is convenient for a snack, dinner or simply to have a good time.
- Stephen (6/5): - Calling this a hotel was deceiving. Hôtel du Chasseur is set up like a hostle and not a hotel. The rooms are tiny with shared bathrooms. The furniture is old and cheap. The bathrooms should have places to put your clothing while you shower.
I would have been happier if they called themselves a hostle or inn.
- Gary (8/5): - This was different for me. Eight small rooms along a hallway above a bar. Room had a sink, but toilet and shower were shared. But it had a fair degree of charm, perhaps because of its unusual elements.
- Chantal (10/5): - Jai aimé belle accueil
- Robert (4/5): - Tiny room. Place feels like you grandma's home, or what I imagine a hostel is like. Quaint, but hiusekeeping is sub-standard. Bathrooms are shared. Has a coffe maker in the shared kitchen but no stir sticks. No dishes no sink in sharef kitchen. Broken mirror in one of the shared bathrooms. People can see you while on the toilet due to insufficient blinds. Not renovated substancially in forever. Rooms / walls are not sound proof. No one on site for much of evening, night and morning if you need something. No place to put clothes. Towels put on chair in corner of room behind door. Stairs not shoveled after snowfall. Room over bar so music is noisy from early until late. Had some messy and loud guests stay at the same time as me so it makes for an altogether unpleasant stay. Far from civilization (ev chargers), if that is what you are looking for. Seems like a cheap place to stay overnight while on a snowmobile /quad / hunting trip, but nothing more.
- Betty (8/5): - I booked this place not knowing it was at least an hour and a half away from Montreal. I was not happy i did that. The best part was the fun we had at the bar downstairs. If you want a hunting lodge, this fits. Bath and shower are down the hall.
- Ryan (4/5): - the place was okay, but i think the staff should be a little more organized when accommodating rooms to people, considering we had 2 people walk in on us sleeping at 2am, and then a staff member bang on the door and told us we weren’t supposed to be there. i get accidents happen. but the gentleman could’ve been nicer about the situation.
- Amie (10/5): - We were very comfortable.
- Paul jerome (10/5): - All good !
- Laurie (8/5): - Have to share a washroom.
- Diana (8/5): - Very quaint
- Jaque (10/5): - Even if the rooms are small, the well equipped common areas and cleanliness make up for it. Furthermore, the service offered by the staff is outstanding. No five stars here if you abide by the industries standards, but well ahead of them if noted on a toe to toe basis. Thanks to Carole for her generous welcome.
- Synida (10/5): - The staff was very welcoming
- Will (10/5): - The only thing that I would caution potential clients about is room access. The rooms are located on the second floor and are accessed by climbing a steep metal staircase. I'm in my mid sixties and I am still fairly agile, but I still found the stairs somewhat intimidating. So, older adults and people with mobility issues could have issues with this situation. I only say this so people are properly informed.
- Janeta (10/5): - very helpfull staff
- Michael (8/5): - Nice place to stay. The restaurant downstairs can be noisy on a Friday or Saturday night. It closes at midnight.
- François (10/5): - Merci, on va revenir!
- Michelle (10/5): - Quiet, clean, well-equipped.
Excellent prix.
- Adam (10/5): - Nice clean rooms, very nice staff, fun bar and nice restaurant downstairs
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The creek in the back was nice but I am afraid of heights and OLD, so the outside steps were hard. I also did not like that I had to share a bathroom. But the bedroom was clean as well as the bathroom and even though there was a bar downstairs, I didn't hear them. The food from the restaurant was very good and plentiful and staff friendly and bilingual.
On était laissé à nous-même.
- Amirnader (4/5): - The location was exactly somewhere that I wanted far and far rural environment but hospitality.amenities was almost zero you can’t find even a plastic spoon . In Christmas restaurant was off . When arrived the host could invite to a coffee or glass of water very cold greeting and didn’t care about client. If a stranger comes in my home minimally a cup of coffee is served in my home …….
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cozy and Friendly in the Evenings - Clean and comfortable, though a little loud late into the with the bar below and shared ventilation carrying up the noise. The staff was extremely friendly at check-in... one of the friendliest experiences I've ever had checking in somewhere. So a big plus.
However, despite what the description said, there was absolutely no breakfast at all - even waiting late into the morning. Not even continental breakfast offerings in empty shared kitchen, which would have been a nice even though it said a full breakfast was included. No staff was available or present all morning before or for check-out.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Une nuit suffit.
- esber (8/5): last minute reservation , but everything done fast - Very nice small place, clean, nice reception,..beautiful view, fare from the big downtown, close to a river, check in was very fast, showing the room and explaining every detail,..
- Jean-Marc (8/5): Nice countryside hotel with comfortable rooms - This is a nice, unassuming country hotel, old style with attached bar, located on a quiet road along a beautiful brook.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The shared aminities are also very clean.
It felt like a B&B, but you can actually go downstairs, have a glass of wine or a beer with your spouse, and have a nice romantic stroll along the brook.
Light breakfast items were also provided.
All in all, very enjoyable.
- Jeff (8/5): good place for stay - No WiFi available and washrooms are not in the customers rooms
- Verified traveler (2/5): - DONT STAY HERE! NO AIRCO! MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! ROOMS ARE BAD AND NOISY!
