Jeremy (8/5): Nice Hotel for a reasonable price - Great workers. Very friendly. Unfortunately they are doing construction next door and my room was near the construction. They were breaking concrete at 6 AM, then they stopped at 8 am. Too bad they don't start working after 9 AM. An extra blanket I could have used because the air conditioner only made cold air and no heat.

Lovely owners Amanda & Hose help you with everything. Delicious breakfast, they also provide airport services. I’ll strongly recommend this hotel.

James (9/5): Capably managed, clean and spacious rooms in hotel on east end of town - The manager was capable and helpful. She set us up with a customized, half-day taxi ride to the highlands. There is a modern, inexpensive cafe across the street. Hot water in an immaculate bathroom. They willingly stored our luggage. The traffic noise was loud and present for most hours of the day.

Best coffee across the street, vegan food nearby, easy walk to the center of town, close to dive shop we used (Scuba Iguana). The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I bought a pineapple and needed to cut it up the day we left- they helped me do it quickly and gave me a bag to put the pieces in. It was nice to have a small kitchen with a table and a sofa. I would stay there again! Our room faced the back- not as nice as some other rooms.

Kimmywanders (9/5): Great Choice in Puerto Ayora - I had a truly enjoyable stay at Ocean Dreams. The hotel is in a good, quiet location about 15 minutes walk to the port. I had a route that passed by pretty flowers and was very pleasant. The hotel is 4 floors and is quite nice and modern, as well as exceptionally clean. The included breakfast was excellent. Staff were kind and helpful, especially the owner was very nice. My room was large, clean, and comfortable. I had a great bed, nice tv, wardrobe and table, and the bathroom was very adequate. There were clean water stations on each floor of the hotel. There is a sea view from the terrace of the top floor which is very pretty. Overall highly recommend and I would stay again. Everything was great for me. I would have loved if I had time to stay longer. There aren't rooms with sea view, but the terrace and rooftop views are nice.

Thrawn (10/5): Perfect hotel on Santa Cruz - The owner is incredibly nice and helpful, even with very basic English skills she makes everything work. She takes care of you and any requests you might have. The tour and taxi she organised was very good and cheap as well. The hotel is nicely located with like 5 minutes to the sea and 10 minutes to Darwin center (no need to go there). The air conditioning works, the water pressure is okay (it's excellent in some rooms), the whole hotel is clean - so I can recommend Oceans Dreams absolutely and without any doubts. I can't emphasize enough how likeable and nice and heartwarming the owner is. Being there didn't feel like business but more like family. The breakfast is - like everywhere here - pretty sweet. Besides the scrambled eggs everything else is sweet (croissant, fruits, jam). We are more on the healthy side so this was not a perfect fit for us. But again: this is the standard here. At least we got a little bit of cheese after asking ;-)

They were helpful and had a wealth of knowledge about things to do in the area. I can't recommend this hotel enough for anyone interested in a more extended stay in Santa Cruz. I applaud them for their patience as I tried to navigate Spanish. I have no issues.

Would I stay here again: I’d opt for another place. The extended review... Cleanliness: 4/5 - Overall a pretty clean place to stay. Service: 3/5 - Thankfully I know enough Spanish to get around but for those that don’t speak, I think it could be challenging. There were plates, cups, a microwave, and fridge but no utensils. The drinking water from the coolers tasted like metal so we opted to buy bottles of water elsewhere. Also the checkout time on hotels.com said 11 and when we went back to our room around 10 the cleaning lady had already started when we weren’t ready to go. Comfort: 3/5 - The beds had the fitted sheet and sheet to sleep under but that was it. No blanket or comforter. When being shown the room they were adamant about conserving energy which I understand but specifically telling us what temperature to put the ac on was a bit much. Noise: 4/5 - For the most part other guests were respectful of the guests. There was construction nearby that started at 8am in the morning hut thats beyond the hotels control.

John (10/5): I can’t recommend this place highly enough. there are other establishments on the island (which we stayed at) for which - the property was spotlessly clean, very well maintained, location was close to good restaurants and island features (Charles Darwin research centre), open fish markets and good pubs. The staff were very helpful. nothing to dislike

Renato (8/5): Do not book seaview - Central, clean, good breakfast. Our seaview room had all of the air conditioning fans in the terrace attached to it making it impossible to sleep with the noise. But the staff immediately changed us to another room once we complained and it was much bigger and better.
Lillian (8/5): - We got off to a rocky start because our room was on the main floor close to where cleaning supplies were kept so the maid was constantly walking back and forth outside our room, which was irritating. We asked for a room on a higher floor but were told that was not possible. Ok, fine. Then we had no internet as our room was too far away from the modem to actually be able to use the internet from our room and although they tried to bring the modem closer, it did not work (turns out the band width was poor). Also the air conditioner in our room did not work (management was aware it was not working properly). After we complained again about the internetand and the air conditioner they put us in a much larger room (bigger and with more beds than we needed), and the owner asked if we could pay more for this room. We said no. And she didnt bother us anymore about that. After this, the owner was really a very nice person and tried to help us out whenever she could. The cleanliness of this place is ourstanding. Breakfasts are good and definitely large enough but little variety from day to day (we stayed a week). The location is also good, just a short walk to the malecon. So, despite the rocky start I would still recommend this hotel.

They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Took advantage of the downtown location to walk to sea market, port to catch a boat to other islands, dinner, check out a couple galleries, and have a drinks. It was great! I highly recommend Ocean Dreams for anyone visiting Galapagos!

Verified traveler (8/5): Ocean Dreams - This was a clean hotel and in a convenient location--a short walk to the main tourist area. Our room was very roomy, had enough hot water, and also had a refrigerator. They provide a nice breakfast that is included. This hotel would be a difficult place to stay if you don't speak Spanish, as just about everyone, including the owner, speaks only Spanish here. This hotel and many in Ecuador promote a "hotel shuttle." This is actually the hotel just calling you a taxi, and it is not included in the price. The day we arrived, the owner could not find our booking, but later, with the help of our Spanish-speaking traveling companions, we worked it out. However, that created some stress for us.
Jonah (10/5): Nice and cozy boutique hotel - Ocean Dreams is well run and well maintained family operated boutique hotel in the heart of Puerta Ayora. We've enjoyed our 3 nights stays here. The hotel and rooms were clean and spacious; loved the foam pillow. The owner, Mrs. Amanda and his family, inclusive Sergey was very attentive, attention to detail on our every needs. We'll go back there again on our next vacation.
min (10/5): A nice stay - The front desk lady was super nice. She was treating her guests like family. Twice we had an early departure, earlier than the regular breakfast time. We did not expect they would get up and prepare the breakfast only for us, but they did! Although we did not use it second time - because it was so early. We were really surprised when we were greeted by the lady with a big smiling face, telling us the breakfast was ready!
