Guest Reviews
- Grace (10/5): - A very nice facility!
- Michael (10/5): Quintessential Experience. - Quaint room. Nice staff. Bar on the lawn with music. 24 hour coffee. Muffins and fruit and yogurt with granola in the mornings. Right in the middle of downtown. Free parking. Close to Acadia. LOVE IT!
- Daniel (8/5): - Went with a group that has gone every year for many years but only my second time. Group consensus is that it has gone downhill since ownership change. She is starting to show areas of neglect. Room smelled strongly of likely cleaning agents but odor never went away in 3 nights (didn’t have room cleaned during stay). The best parts used to be sitting outside with the live music but now the area is no longer reserved for guests and anyone can sit there. We only were able to enjoy that one day. They’re used to be someone greeting you upon arrival with snacks and a little drink, but that is gone as well. I suppose the changes were needed to make more profitable but it remains one of the most expensive places to stay and now does not have the personal touch. We will not be going back.😢
- Michael (10/5): - The place was awesome. Room was nicely furnished. Afternoon entertainment was great. Firepits on front lawn was fun and enjoyed the people we met. Parking was great as parking in Bar Harbor can be tough. Location was perfect, just a few minutes from Acadia. Highly recommend.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - I loved the aesthetic of the building and the fire pits outside with live music was wonderful. Staff leading up to my trip were rude however once I arrived they were very polite. Cleaning services didn't do our room. Perhaps it's only between Lodgers?
- Kathryn (10/5): - The property is great! Perfect walkable downtown location. My room kind of felt like a terrarium (room 11 with all the windows), but the draperies were sufficient to create privacy. The WiFi didn’t work in my room unfortunately. Staff were lovely and I appreciated the breakfast! All in all would stay again.
- Erin (10/5): - Live music was awesome - the bed was comfortable and the property was charming and lovely. The bartenders and servers outside were friendly but the front desk staff working over the weekend seemed constantly annoyed.
- STEVE (8/5): - It's an interesting old place with really cool features such as copper ceilings, and quirky rooms. It was nice having a porch to sit on, especially as the rooms are a little small. It has a fun atmosphere with live music and cocktails on the front lawn every afternoon. The rooms are a little dated and could use an update of lights. The shower was so dark you couldn't see what soap you were using. Also breakfast was disappointing across the board.
- Gary (8/5): - Our room was clean, but very small. The lighting in the room was poor, but was great in the bathroom. The continental breakfast was nice.
- Jennifer (10/5): - GREAT PLACE AND LOCATION if you want to be in the middle of things. Walk to everything. We stayed in a cottage and had privacy while still in the heart of town. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely stay there a rain.
- Andrea (6/5): Great location but not very comfortable. - Great location with free onsite parking. Beds are very uncomfortable and loud. Sunken in on each side. We stayed in a king room on the first floor and it was quite loud. Staff is friendly but not always available-we had to call someone to check in and check out.
- Ann Marie (10/5): - Charming inn! No decorative detail is overlooked. Staff is professional and personable. Add to that a fabulous location and a beautiful lawn with entertainment…it’s perfect!
- Tracy (10/5): - It is like stepping back in time
- Steve (10/5): - Very pleasant stay in the cottages that they have in the back. Clean and comfortable rooms that were private and very quiet A highlight was the front lawn music from local artists each day from 12 until f5 with bar service.
- Lesa (10/5): - This is such a special place! We loved everything about our stay. The Inn is so charming and a perfect location for food, music and rest. We even hiked to Acadia from the Inn. Can’t wait to come back.
- Brett (10/5): - Perfect location.. middle of everything!
- Paul (10/5): - Nice
- Theresa (10/5): - We had the most unbelievable experience!! The Ivy Manor Inn is beautiful. It’s decorated with beautiful antique furniture. The staff is extremely welcoming, friendly, pleasant and helpful. The rooms are beautiful. Beds are comfortable, lovely linens. The grounds are meticulously cared for. I can go on and on. We had the most wonderful stay!
- Allison (10/5): - We loved our little cottage. It was a perfect size and we had everything we needed. The staff is wonderful! Friendly, helpful and fun! We really enjoyed the afternoon music and drinks on the lawn. The musicians were great and the ambiance was wonderful. Ricardo, Orville, Chris Cory and Brian made the lawn experience super fun!
- Amber (10/5): - Super cute property, great location, very friendly staff.
- Margaret (10/5): - Outdoor seating
- Carlotta (8/5): - We would give this 5 stars except for 2 things. The fireplace had a pilot light, but wouldn’t light. And the breakfast pastries were the same each morning: tasteless and sticky mushy. We appreciated the yogurts and the granola, and the good coffee available early so we could take it back to our room. We loved the room and the convenience of being in the middle of town, but set back, lovely and quiet. We enjoyed the private fire pit nestled in on the side. The afternoon concerts on the front lawn were a nice plus.
It was a nice stay, and would book again.
- Travis (10/5): Bar Harbor gem - This property was very charming. We stayed in one of the detached rooms in the back and really enjoyed the privacy of the room while still enjoying the music and social aspect of the front garden. The staff were helpful and friendly. Amazing location. Highly reccomend
- JAMES (8/5): - Bar Harbor’s restaurant and waterfront are easily accessible. The live music and bar on the front lawn brings a festive atmosphere.
- R (10/5): - Loved the Ivy Manor Inn. Right in the middle of everything happening in Bar Harbor. Loved the fireplace and balcony in the room, loved the outdoor space with music and cocktails, loved the staff who were all so helpful.
- Greg (10/5): - Loved the live music and the fire pits. Service and staff were excellent.
- Damon (8/5): - Centraley located made parking easy breakfast was good nice place to stay in Bar Harbor
- Cheryl Johnson (10/5): Wonderful Inn in Bar Harbor - Cutest hotel, right on Main Street. Best part was the courtyard with fire pits and live music every day.
- Ralph (10/5): Great location in town - Small room but the private deck was large and amazing. Front desk service was outstanding. The breakfast was pastries and yogurt with with some oranges and apples.
Every afternoon there was live music on the front lawn
- Margaret (10/5): - Amazingly cute property with abundant fire pits and ambience. Right in the middle of downtown making it super close to restaurants, stores and waterfront. Loved our stay here.
- Angelina (10/5): We loved Ivy Manor! - This place was unbelievable! Our favorite things about it were easy parking, amazing location and live music every day with fire pits at night. We had the best time on our engagement trip. Thank you!
- Terry (10/5): - Great place to stay!! Located downtown within walking distance to everything.
- Mark (10/5): - This was one of our favorite properties we’ve ever stayed at the front lawn is set up for music in the afternoons with lots of chairs fire pits, and is essentially the center of town. Everybody wants to hang out chat drink and have a good time. The parking is really easy Couldn’t have made a better choice.
- Brian (10/5): - The property was convenient to all restaurants, and the shore path. Had a nice out door live music from 12noon to 5pm. Beautiful outdoor sitting area and the Inn itself is just inviting to look at. Not a big hotel look.
Muffins in the morning were to die for.
- Tammy (10/5): Loved this hotel - Perfect cottage hotel that is in the best location!! LOVED this place!!!!!!
- Paul (8/5): - This quaint little inn was right in the heart of town. One of the things we loved the most was the two big fire pits out front. The patio was open to the public and we enjoyed meeting lots of new people. There was also live music, which was such a treat!
- Terry (10/5): - Lovely Cottages. Amazing location,
- Susan (10/5): - Live music was nice.
- Brad (10/5): - We loved staying here. It was a great location and very charming property.
- Maximilian (10/5): - Live music on the front lawn every day is great!
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful property right in the heart of Bar Harbor. Everything is in walking distance. We loved the daily music on the front lawn.
- Rachael (10/5): - Nice inn with a great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
- Dustin (10/5): - Updated without sacrificing it's charm. The manor was quaint, clean and convient. Wife and I booked 3 nights for our anniversary and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Weather was chilly, so we would warm up at one of the outdoor firepits, grab a drink from the outdoor bar and then back off to the shops and restaurants that are steps away. The staff was exceptional and and made us feel comfortable. I can't think of anything I would change about the experience.
- Keith (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, quiet and awesome afternoon entertainment on lawn. Lighting in bathroom could be better.
- Krista (10/5): - Very cozy hotel in the heart of town! We loved the live music
- Federico (2/5): - There are no black out curtains in the room number 3, the sunrise is at 5:05 am, so you can imagine. The floor of the room simply dirty during the two days. For sure never come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice - Nice spacious room for a renovated house. Live music and bar out on the lawn.
- Matt (10/5): Felt like home….only better - This is the perfect place and the perfect location. You can walk anywhere in Bar Harbor from there! We Inn is beautiful and the live music outside and morning breakfasts are a great touch
- Debbie (10/5): - Beautiful accommodations. Would recommend
- Denise (10/5): - Nice hotel. Friendly staff.
- Stacy (10/5): - A Magical Stay in the Heart of Bar Harbor
From the moment I arrived at Ivy Manor, I felt like I had stepped into a storybook. The Tudor-style charm, beautifully landscaped grounds, and cozy fire pits created the perfect New England ambiance. The location is unbeatable—just steps from Bar Harbor’s main shops, restaurants, and waterfront—but still feels like a quiet, private retreat.
My room was impeccably clean, stylishly furnished, and full of thoughtful touches. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, offering local tips and genuine hospitality that made my stay unforgettable.
Whether I was relaxing outside by the fire with a drink, enjoying the manicured gardens, or heading out for a scenic day in Acadia National Park, everything about Ivy Manor felt easy, elegant, and just right.
If you’re looking for a memorable, comfortable stay with personality and warmth, this is the place. I can’t wait to come back!
- Whitney (10/5): - I love this Inn and will definitely be back. The decor was everything I was hoping for and more. The fireplace in the room and beautiful room set up was perfect - I’d move in if I could. It’s early spring but the grounds were well kept and pretty. New mulch was laid during my stay and a few blooms are starting to peak out.
The weather was nice enough the front garden cabana bar opened and the fire pits were ablaze.
Couldn’t ask more for a better location being right in the village to walk around and check out the shops. Parking was very easy in the hotel lot.
- Edward (8/5): - Given the nature, Bar Harbor, most of the hotels in town will be smaller. But this one is especially well located. I was concerned that the hotel being on the main road would be noisy, but then the road barely has any traffic on it and it's mostly pedestrians walking by from shop to shop. I had one of the bungalow cabins in the back of the hotel, which was perfect off the street quiet yet easy to get in and out of to the restaurant which are within a Stonesthrow. I would stay here again for sure.
- Edward (10/5): - I am pleasantly surprised
- Moses (10/5): - The staff were amazing and the building was stunning and cozy. I would definitely stay here again.
- Clyde (10/5): - Delightful experience highly recommend
- Katherine (10/5): - Lovely inn. Friendly, helpful staff. Close to everything! Very walkable.
- Nicole (10/5): - Best place to stay in Bar Harbor Maine!!!
- Raymond (8/5): - The place was clean and comfortable. Very walkable to shopping and dinning.
The only thing is I wish we had water for our room and the refrigerator was very noisy.
- Erik (10/5): - Incredibly accommodating. Our go-to spot.
- tricia (10/5): - Amazing property! Great staff, and conveniently located to everything.
- Michael (8/5): - This is a great property right in the middle of things in Bar Harbor.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Average rooms but a Great location
- Collin (6/5): - Check in was a poor experience. There was nobody at the front desk, and after calling the listed number 3 times and having it go to voicemail, someone came to check us in who was not very polite. The property is overall nice—it has an antique feel and there is very nice sitting space outside in the front lawn area.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Cute and clean property. We stayed in one of the cottages. It was cozy and quiet. The bar and yard out front are pretty busy in the evening and when there’s live music. The property is well cared for with cute landscaping and is right in the middle of the main drag. Very convenient. Highly recommend this property.
- Robert A (10/5): Beautiful ivy covered inn and cabins. - Wonderful old style inn with antique styling of all of the furnitings. The yard and firepits for the evening were perfect additions as well as the afternoon entertainment.
- Gayla (10/5): - Location, location, location. Right in the middle of town. Easily accessible to walk to the harbor, restaurants and shopping.Old English Tudor, draped in ivy. The room was lovely. Offstreet parking a bonus.
The firepits, music and bar out front was a daily ritual.
I would love to return.
- Hazel (10/5): - Kind and helpful staff
It’s very cozy
Nice restaurants and nice weather
Would recommend to friends and families if visiting Bar Harbor.
- Kelly (10/5): - Cozy comfy vibe. Greeted with smiles as soon as we checked in! Dinner recommendations were great. Fire pit with music and bar within steps of our room was amazing! Will definitely be back!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Adorable manor. Perfect for walking everywhere. The outdoor seating, fire pits & live music was a great way to relax after hiking.
- Jeffry (4/5): Be care of propane tank noise! - The location of this hotel is excellent and the staff is very nice. The front yard with music daily is also great. Our complaint with this hotel is the loud noise from the propane tanks outside our room. You almost can’t hear yourself think when the tanks are running. Fortunately they do shut them off at 9:30pm so it is quiet when you sleep. We were in room 6 and not every room would be subject to this noise. This should be disclosed when making the reservation and unfortunately there no way to experience this in advance. Despite the positives we would never recommend this hotel.
- Deborah (10/5): - We stayed in one of the cabins. It was cozy, quiet, clean, and had a fireplace. The outdoor firepits, bar and music were a very relaxing way to spend the evening. They provided a simple complimentary breakfast every morning. It was a great way to start the day. Last, but certainly not least, the staff was friendly and very accommodating. I would go back in a heartbeat.
- Ernest (10/5): - Great location! Would be nice to have a few more breakfast options.
- Joy (10/5): - I love Tudor era and this hotel did it justice. Definitely the smallest hotel room I have stayed but the room and bathroom had everything we needed. We used the room to sleep and get ready. If I wanted to relax in room more, I probably wouldn’t have chosen this room. The location is spot on! & I love their outdoor area especially during happy hour.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Really liked the back patio with firepit. Wish the front would have been for guests only as so crowded and no place to sit. Very clean and cozy!
- Richard (10/5): - Great place to stay, right in the heart of Bar Harbor. Amazing outdoor sitting area, bar, live music every afternoon! Friendly staff!
- Barbara (10/5): - Beautiful building. Our room was wonderful.
- Dinara (6/5): -
The location is excellent, situated right on the main street. We stayed in the signature room, which is a standalone building. However, I rated our experience 3 out of 5 because we received a knock on our door at exactly 11:04 AM, informing us that we needed to check out. We travel frequently, both internationally and within the US, and this was the first time we encountered such a situation.
- Maryellen (10/5): - Beautiful property to stay at. Right in the heart of town, walk to everything. Have a fantastic day and the staff was out of this world.
- David (10/5): Stay in the middle of Bar Harbor @ Ivy Manor - We loved the vibe around this Inn. The live music and outdoor bar in the front lawn was a very comfortable and relaxing way to end each day. Then, we walked just a few steps into the Inn and our room to drop in bed.
- Kevin (10/5): Best place to stay in Bar Harbor - This beautiful little hotel was at the epicenter of Bar Harbor. The hotel itself was incredibly quaint and well maintained. The front lawn became a wonderful gathering every afternoon for drinks on the lawn with live music. Parking was always available and the staff was incredibly friendly. This will definitely be my go to spot in the future
- Justin (10/5): - Great spot.
- Louise (8/5): - Great last minute stay at this comfortable hotel. Lots of charm and so convenient to everything.
- France (10/5): - Absolutely loved the location! Could walk everywhere! Grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the outdoor bar and garden and music in the afternoon. We will definitely be back!!
- Gail (10/5): - Hotel was amazing
- Ambie (6/5): - Breakfast was not good. Fresh fruit was appreciated. Coffee dispenser is an aluminum container with watery tasting coffee. The rooms do not have coffee ( ie Keurig would make this stay better) The muffins were store bought and the same each morning. It’s shame because there are local bakeries which would supply fresh muffins and/ or pastry.
- David (10/5): - Beautiful property! Clean. Comfortable bed. Nicely decorated. Outdoor sitting area was great. Walkable to many shops, restaurants, harbor.
- Philip (10/5): - We stayed in a bungalow and loved the convenience of private entry. The grounds were lovely with the ivied manor and garden paths.
Especially inviting was the front lawn area with Adirondack chairs encircling fire pits, afternoon bar, and live music. It faces Main St. where you can walk to the village center, shops, and restaurants in minutes. Across the street is the Village Green where you can hop on the Island Explorer, free public transportation. It was the perfect Inn for our 4 night stay!
- Diane (4/5): Outrageous price for tiny room - The room very small with small shower. Able to walk around bed. Large patio bigger than room Asked to see manager He never called or contacted me Obviously didn’t care. Breakfast was coffee with a muffin. Paid over $400.00 for this Because I booked with hotel.com would not help me. Never again
- Robert (10/5): - Perfect location and very well maintained.
- Gary (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Ivy Manor. It is extremely well located in the heart of things but yet quiet & very laid back. The fire pits & sitting areas in the front are a joy to sit back, listen to music, have a drink or just relax. Truly a wonderful place to stay in Bar Harbor!
- Kristin (10/5): - What a beautiful inn! Charming from top to bottom, inside and out. The continental breakfast in the mornings was just right for fueling my husband and I before we biked in Acadia, browsed the shops, took a cruise in the harbor, etc. We are so glad we stayed here for our first trip to Bar Harbor. It was the perfect home base and a breath of fresh air when we returned from all our adventures during the day. It provided easy access to all the places we wanted to explore, while also being a welcome and quiet retreat. Will recommend and hope to return soon!
- Paul (10/5): Excellent cozy hotel. - Great location. Warm and friendly staff. Great blueberry muffins at breakfast.
- Donna (10/5): - We absolutely loved staying here!
- Mary Ann (8/5): - We loved the laid back vibe and wonderful staff. Ivy Manor Inn is a focal point for not just the people who are guest but those who enjoy the front lawn bar and live music daily. The location is central to everything and unless we were leaving the immediate downtown area we did not need our car. Because of the age of the inn, the rooms are not what you would find in a cookie cutter hotel. I wish the mattress was a bit firmer and that the bathroom/shower set up was a bit less awkward but I suppose in an inn you have to expect some quirks. Overall a great experience and we would stay here again!
- Ryan (10/5): - Great outdoor are for live music every night. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will be back!
- Matthew (10/5): Private Cottage at Ivy Manor Inn - We had a great couple's stay in one of the lovely cottages at the Ivy Manor Inn. Superb location with everything you want available on foot, including free shuttle buses to Acadia National Park just a few steps away. Highly recommend.
- Justine (10/5): - Great hotel in the centre of the village
- Paul (8/5): A Good Place to Stay in Bar Harbor - I enjoyed staying at the inn. I slept comfortably, and the service was good. My main criticisms are that 1) the breakfast was disappointing, and I ended up eating breakfast outside the inn; and 2) there was no storage space in the room, which meant that I had to live out of my suitcase for my three-night stay.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Pretty and conveniently positioned property.
