Guest Reviews
- Roang (10/5): -
- Bru Díaz (7/5): - Beds were comfortable and the room spacious The plugs in the bathroom and some of the outlets in the room didn’t work. But the worst part was the location: the inn is near the train tracks, and during the night, trains passed by 4 or 5 times, constantly blowing their horns and waking you up.
- Sayed (6/5): In general, is not that bad ! - Clean Needs renovation
- Abdelmoumen (10/5): -
- Khalequzzaman (8/5): Yes, very good considering price . -
- Myles (10/5): Great place, has everything a person needs. - Every thing Served the same soup for 4 days in a row
- Rebecca (9/5): Great value - Convenient location. Bed was comfy. Nice to have restaurant on site. Unfortunately people leaving bar were load outside. I would request a different room next time.
- Susan (9/5): -
- Claudette (9/5): We did enjoy our stay at the inn. Most importantly, we had a very good sleep! - The inn is close to #1 highway. The room was roomy, clean, the bed very comfortable. The employee last evening was very kind and pleasant. There is no plug in the bathroom for a hair dryer. I had to plug it behind the couch for my hairdryer to work! We booked for two people and there was only one facecloth in the bathroom and only one cup for coffee….
- Mashup (8/5): -
- Woodworth (10/5): Excellent service. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was great. Nothing to complain about.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Chao (1/5): Bad experience - The staff are nice and polite The room's facilities is so dark and dirty.
- Kathy (1/5): Dirty. Should not be in business. - Nothing. The instructions on how to access the room were confusing. The photos of the rooms on the Booking site do not reflect the condition of the actual place. The room was dirty. The bathroom faucet, electrical socket and bathtub plug were disgusting. The coffee maker was disgusting. The bedspread was ripped. There were no available electrical outlets - one was overfilled with plugs and the other was behind the gross couch. There were flies in the room. There was no blow dryer. The couch was covered in a cheap elasticized couch cover. The curtain rods were askew. The front door of the motel and the door from the hallway where the rooms are located were locked at 11 p.m. when the one employee left the premises for the night until 7 a.m.. There was a sign on the door with a number to call in "extreme emergencies only". There was another door to the outside at the end of the hallway of rooms. It did not have a latch or a lock. It was accessible to anyone at any time from the parking lot. This means that, while guests slept in their rooms between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. they did so in a building that was not secured and unstaffed. The restaurant is closed. Probably a good thing based on the cleanliness of the rooms.
- Laura (3/5): - Good location, near the highway A/C didn't work properly and blew tepid air. The WiFi signal was bad and the beds were saggy and uncomfortable. The room smelled musty and looked old and unkempt.
- Frank (4/5): Does the trick for little money, you get what you pay for - Cheap, hot showers . Basic, ok for the money. Staff was excellent. Very noisy AC . Old bed/towels, floor had a soft spot. Door locked itself after a couple of seconds ( weird)
- Jarvis (3/5): won't stay there again. sstayed atMotel 6 on teh wayback. - No breakfast. Room was tired as was the hotel itself.
- Richard (7/5): -

- Jean-Francois (6/5): Accueil t compréhensif - Tranquille Salle de bain

- Lynn (8/5): - Clean, convenient and reasonable price
- Bryan (9/5): -
- Steve (10/5): - The friendly Staff.
- Linda (10/5): Perfect place for a night. -
- Barry (8/5): - The person in reception made me feel good, like he valued me choosing his hotel.he offered to help with my bag and even showed me to the room. Made me feel kind of special in a good way. If I pass thru here later on, I will probably come here again. Bed is very comfortable.
- Marlyne (4/5): - The room had old furniture which is uncomfortable. More renovations need to be done. Needs more thorough cleaning. Staff was very friendly and helpful!!
- Rachelle (10/5): - Always a reliable friendly place to stay.
- Campsall (3/5): I was very disappointed. I saw people gave it three stars and thought it must be okay. Nope! Move along pretty much anyw - The front area and outside were clean. The restaurant looked decent. The bed sheets were clean. The room was dirty, the couch had a weird cover over it that didn’t fit and so we didn’t use it. We didn’t know what they were trying to hide, especially since the fabric chair was so gross. I sat on our electric cooler because I was afraid to use the furniture.
- Gwen (10/5): - Friendly helpful
- Tony (4/5): - Ignored by 3 staff at check-in, no telephone in room, no wake up call, no radio/alarm clock, all furniture old, run down, paid $94 on Expedia - big sign on motel advertising $69.99 night.
Plus side - lots of hot water and convenient parking!
- Clarence (10/5): - we were very pleased with it all and would stay again and tell all friends and neighbours
- Taylor (8/5): Good place, excellent staff and services. Would stay again. - Restaurant and bar onsite Carpeted room not my preference although it seemed clean
- Michael (2/5): - was pretty gross, i had to sleep on the couch fully dressed with shoes on cause the bed looked so gross
- None (8/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): -
- Susan (8/5): Would stay here again. - Convenient location. Friendly, helpful staff.
- Patricia (4/5): - The $ was inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The TV worked. The location was great...right off the hwy. There was a covered comfortable sitee in the room. The room was bigger than average.Bed linen was acceptable. The restaurant attached had a variable menu and the area was clean. Smell in the room, older decor. Two different thin pillows on the bed. Bugs in the bathroom, multiple flies in the room coming in from the gap in the poorly installed air conditioner. Paint peeling in the corner of the room. The shower knob coming off in tub, and was filthy. But the best thing were the many rat traps all around the building! Our room was right next to the exit door and it slapped every time someone left. The rat trap was right under our window. The stench in the hallway was terrible. The restaurant attached was expensive, but acceptable.
- James (9/5): - Conveniently located off the highway. Best price.
- Cynthia (6/5): - Room was rundown but clean.
- Evangeline (6/5): - The room had a bad smell, 👎 bed not comfortable
- Costa-Green (1/5): They need to update their hotel take out the rugs. It was very dark and depressing in the room. - The price was great $94 taxes included The location was dark and sketchy
The room smelled like paint, but they did not appear to be any fresh paint anywhere
The rug appears to be very dirty and the room is very very outdated. Towels look stained I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
- Mark (6/5): -
- Martha (3/5): -
- Colleen (8/5): - Staff was great. Motel was as expected for the price we paid. Had a very good supper as well.
- Gandham (10/5): - Smooth process for check-in and checkout. Isolated but close to trans canada, which is peaceful & a small detour.
- Belinda (6/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Fahad (7/5): -
- Eleanor (8/5): - All good except for the a/c being very loud and affected our sleep - because when we turned it off the room was too warm.
Also the unit so high up that my husband had to stand on the chair to turn it on……
Very clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff.
Missed the restaurant😢
- Jiang (8/5): -
- Georgette (6/5): - It was a good place to stay for the price.
- Angie (4/5): - Dirty
- Bernard (4/5): - Hotel is not well maintained.
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Darren (7/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom was not very clean and neither were the entry door frames and handles
- Marc (2/5): - I rarely write reviews. But I must say, this hotel should be your LAST choice in the area. Staff was good but Absolutely everything is worn, tired, mouldy or broken. I really don't know where to start. Mold and ice in fridge, mouldy Windows, swollen baseboards, dirty walls, worn and squeaky mattress, no alarm clock... Toilet still has urine in it when I checked in.They don't wash the shower curtain, bottom was moldy and wet! Water infiltrations in wall under the badly installed underpowered and loud AC unit. Bathroom door won't close, they removed the room deadbolts so you can't lock from inside. As I said, stay away.
The restaurant was good but service slow.
Couldn't get over the smell in the whole building (and worse in the room), once home all my luggage had that smell....
- Simon (8/5): - Chose this place in Moosomin for cheap accomodation option on cross canada road trip, but fell in love with this very quiet small prairie town.
The Country Squire Inn is rather modest looking but quiet, comfortable and clean with decent little restaurant and a good bar. Most of the guests seem to be working in nearby mines so no loud messing about late and up early to work.
Plus very courteous and polite staff,
Would love to return and absolutely stay here again.
- Myra (6/5): - It’s definitely an older property in need of some deep pockets and love. Would stay there again due to its affordability and location.
- Matthew (10/5): Good - Quiet N/a
- Monique (7/5): Price, Clean, Slept Well - I slept really well here. Super handy location right off the highway, and everything was spotless. There’s a great restaurant attached that locals love, especially on Wing Wednesdays, but I ended up sleeping through it. The staff were awesome and gave me a nice quiet room. Price was perfect for a good rest before hitting the road again. Its super old, 1980s and needs a reno.
- Borowski (5/5): - Motel really needs some work done in the rooms. Quite dated AC didn't work properly, old drapes, rug needed replacing..
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Alan (4/5): -
- Kim (10/5): - I liked that when I had a slight problem with the original room, they were very quick and accomodating to switch my room immediately. Friendly staff. Clean rooms
- Riddell (2/5): Would not recommend - No breakfast Bed was very uncomfortable
Room needs work - outdated
- Randy (8/5): Affordable, clean place to stay. - No breakfast. No microwave in room.
- Grace (10/5): - Handy
- Harrison (8/5): - Very quaint and simple!
- James (8/5): Pleasant, comfortable and good value - I did not eat breakfast..
- Oleksandr (5/5): Cheaper then neighbors. - Close to the highway. Bathroom in the room. Old. Smell. Not secured parking.
- Sandy (6/5): - Hte lobby was clean, and the carpet in the hallway looked newer, also in the room. Problem was, they must have had water damage in some point because the flooring under the lino and carpet in the room was uneven and felt like it had been damaged and never repaired, just covered over with new carpet and lino
- james (8/5): - Little bit dated but clean and quiet. Good restaurant
- Carissa (7/5): We had a good time here & enjoyed the bar in the hotel as well - Super close to everything that Moosomin has to offer, friendly staff, good price The locks on the door were a little weird, no deadbolt which I’d prefer but it still felt pretty safe
- John (6/5): - Very run down
- Kaylee (10/5): - Was all we needed for a quick stop/sleep on our travels.
Excellent customer service at the front desk. Gentleman was very kind and patient when we had issues booking through Expedia.
Payment is required at check in (not through Expedia, for future reference).
Rooms are clean, and come with a mini fridge and coffee maker, along with the basic amenities.
Worth the price.
- Marilyn (8/5): - Bed was comfortable and room was big .perfect for a quick stay over night
- Paul (10/5): - Nice..
- Sylvianne (10/5): Beau motel confortable - Pour l’emplacement et dormir c’est bien Pour la nourriture du restaurant la pizza m’a semblé surgelé dé l’épicerie
- dorothy (6/5): - The rooms and bathroom had not been kept up well. The baseboards were black, the bathtub faucet was barely hanging on and there was an antiseptic smell throughout the room.
The front desk clerk was exceptionally friendly and made the entire experience tolerable. There is the possibility of this being an ok place but cleaning efforts and maintenance must be improved
- Bruce (6/5): - Water was very hard
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Harrison (8/5): - Friendly and quaint!
- Richard Dale (4/5): - Might as well not have wifi. It was spotty at best.
- Christopher (2/5): - Dirty, mold, beds are worn out, shower head damaged lots of noise, other guests in and out smoking and drinking in parking lot beside our unit. Overall worst experience we've had in 2 weeks of travelling across Canada
- Toru (6/5): -
- Tawny (10/5): - Small town appeal. Older but clean. Perfect for over nighting to next destination. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but the Red Barn down the street is a great alternative.
- Artem (10/5): -
- daniel (4/5): - restaurant was closed - seems like it has been for some time. and nothing else around is open for food except tim hortons on the other side of town. my room was along the wall with the only door that is left accesible over night so all the smokers coughing, talking and slamming the doors for each pass could be heard clear as day through the walls. at all hours of the night.i mightve been more tolerant of this noise if i had gotten to eat dinner
- Arnold (8/5): - Good
- Bernard (6/5): - Price was right. Found the bathroom to be dirty and in need of some maintenance work. Staff were very friendly.
- Kevin (5/5): -
- Wilhelmina (5/5): - There was no breakfast and the restaurant was closed
- Cheryl (6/5): - 😁
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel stay. - Room was clean, bed seemed a little rickety. Could use a paint and updated air conditioner, but for 79 dollars a night it was good.
- Kim (10/5): - The staff was great and welcoming! Will come again on my way through!
