- Jeff (10/5): Kimbal Solutions0 - The staff was wonderful. Caring and kind. The room was clean, sanitary.
- MICHELLE (7/5): - It is an older motel. Very nostalgic. Room had its blemishes, but was clean and comfortable. Front desk clerk, Destiny, was very sweet. Location is convenient. Price was right. Room smelled like cigarette smoke.
- Smentkowski (7/5): - No Breakfast at 5:30 am.
The room has not been update in years. The Bathroom has never been updated.
No clock or alarm to wake up by.
No air dryer.
The bed was very good and I sleep well. I would not take my wife or daughter there. I was okay for a single man staying there.
- Nancy (7/5): -
- Samuel (8/5): -
- Kevin (1/5): Terrible - Location Everything..people running up and down the halls all night, slamming doors, talking and yelling. Do not stay here! Sleep in your vehicle, or at a homeless shelter. This place is horrible! Employees smoking at entrance, dirty odor in the air. Paid for three nights but left after one never to return. Yes it’s cheap but you get what you pay for.
- Sherry (7/5): - Room was very small
- Luis (1/5): -

- Diatalevi (4/5): I initially booked three nights, but left after the first. - It was clean It had clearly not been updated since it was built, and is in desperate need. There's a few permanent residents, which is typical of a run-down Motel.
- Jayne (10/5): Night sleep - Price can't be beat. But you get what you pay for. The AC was cold. We had a good night sleep. We had the larger room with full bed and two twins. TV worked fine. Ample parking. Walmart and restaurants nearby. Private property across the street had fenced deer that were fun to watch. Staff were pleasant. Morning coffee was good. Tub drains super slow.
Hot water takes long to heat up.
Lots of cigarette butts and staff were smoking outside.
AC was kind of loud.
- Jayne (9/5): Quaint old motel - I always like to stay at vintage lodging. Impressed that some original items continue in use: bathroom sink, mirror, short little toilet, lighting. There has been some attemps at updating...carpet, painted walls, decent furniture & beds. Overall, the room, beds and bath surfaces were all clean. Very clean. If you are sensitive to bleach smell, know that they use it to clean with and possibly wash the sheets in too. TV was big, volume & remote worked fine. Water was hot. The a.m. coffee was delicious. Close drive to local restaurants. It appears that our negative goes on & on below but overall, the price was right with beds comfortable, AC cold and had a roof over our heads. Across the street is a fenced private owned area that has some deer. Kinda fun to watch them. Our room was not ready when we arrived, although booked weeks prior. "The housekeeper quit." Room available was furthest down so took several minutes to heat water. Tub took long time to drain (like 10 mins), so by the time the water heated it was 1/2 full with cold. No plug for tub or sink. Lots of smoking outside by staff and others, although 'no smoking' signs inside. Ceiling smoke detector without cover nor battery...thankfully everyone was smoking outdoors ;)
We stayed two nights. First night was quiet. Saturday night about midnight, we heard knocking up and down the hallway and screaming "get out, get out!"
Hubs says ' Someone didn't get what they paid for.'
- Amanda (9/5): I would recommend this facility! - Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Having to call to get reception. Blinds in the window didn’t close all the way.
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (1/5): We didn't stay! - Nothing The room was a mess. The bed looked li,e it had been slept in, the furniture was mismatched and pieces missing, the carpet was dirty and had pieces of paper on it, and the AC vibrated the room when it was on. The interior of the motel looked nothing like the advertised pictures. The front entrance was littered with old chairs and cans of cigarette butts
- Donna (1/5): We did not and would not stay in such a deplorable place over night, In wish I would have taken pict - Nothing Such a.nasty place, odors, unclean, staff person hateful, want to hear anymore? This property needs reported to better busine bureau and should not be on booking .com
Was nothing like the pictures on booking.com site
- Logan (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (3/5): All things considered, it would be a mistake to keep this motel as one of your options. - The location was convenient. First off, I assume I will be disputing charges. The hotel clerk denied having knowledge of my stay being arranged by booking.com, and I paid the hotel clerk for a room. I haven't checked my bank account yet, but I assume I paid twice for one crappy room. Also, it seemed like the other clientele were unsavory types. Perhaps dealing drugs. At any rate, room doors were slamming all night, people going outside all night, and small children making noise in the hallway all night. I barely slept due to worrying about my vehicle being tampered with, and the other noise.
- Merryman (2/5): Glad it was over. - It was coffee and a package of open cookies. We could feel the springs in our back when we laid on the bed. Imagine this all night. The TV was hard to operate. We had to get someone to help and she came to fix our tv in her pajamas. I understand it's a small town but she could have put on a robe or something. The AC was SO LOUD that we couldn't hear anything over the sound of the AC. The water from the sink was dripping all night and it was super annoying. The shower had one setting - scalding hot. We could hear yelling in the other room and it was annoying. The room was very small to have such a big bed. The hotel was very old, it does need a bit of updating.
- Jeff (9/5): Superb -
- Doug (1/5): Bad -
- Smentkowski (8/5): fine - none none
- Herring (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (5/5): Passable - Convenient to what we needed. It was the only one available in town everything else was sold out. Staff was friendly. The place was clean. Old, out dated, falling apart. Rooms were missing pillows, towels we had to ask for them (which they took care of). Bathroom, water stains on the walls, Peeling paint/plaster. There was no way we were taking a shower there. Stains on the sheets. You could tell they were clean but still, replace the dang sheets. I don't know how much business they get there. In regards to revenue to fix the place up. If it was my place I would be going down the youtube watching video rabbit hole to fix and make the place look presentable myself with plaster and paint. So much you could do yourself without spending a lot of money.
- Marshallyn (6/5): Pleasant, bed comfortable, clean and quiet. - Convenience to town. Clean, quiet and no fuss. A few more amenities would be helpful, like a hair dryer, tea bags. Also there was no one at the front desk most of the time so was unable to ask questions.
- Ronald (1/5): Bad -
- Latoya (1/5): Bad -
- Dennis (7/5): Good -
- Connie (1/5): Would not stay there again. - It was close to the place I was going to work. Lots of permanent residents with lots of dogs. I had trouble going out the door because of them. Also evidence of drug use and lots of cigarette smoking right outside both entrances. Noisy overnight with barking dogs and loud music during the afternoon. Bathroom tiny.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (10/5): Never ending quiet - Fabulous everything needed is close including a Walmart
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Small, quiet room with microwave and fridge and TV.
Comfortable bed and quiet a/c.
Great price for a good night sleep!!
Oh and pet friendly!
- Jonesmic1000 (5/5): Passable - Location was the main reason for staying there. Couldn’t find my reservation, the key didn’t work in the door, and the cats roaming the halls.
- Karlene (3/5): Don't bother - No breakfast or typical amenities. Walls and bathroom needed repairs. There were two disturbances in the hallway outside our room. A guy pounding on the door to get jnto a room and police were called. We did not feel safe at the motel.
- Mirendah (10/5): Exceptional - It is renovated yet retains some vintage features. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and I felt safe. Had frig and microwave.
- Virginia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Cwwy (10/5): Grand - Cooffe in the morning. I left cookies. Location is perfect for me. Close to the highway US-36. Very helpful staff.
- Ronald (9/5): Superb -
- Black (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): I would stay there again. - The staff was friendly. The room was clean. Everything was as expected. The biggest reason for not perfect was the ash trays and cigarette butts at the main entrance. Looks like they have a smoking station right at the front doors. There were chairs and ash trashs on each side of the main doors. The ash trays were all very full. Kind of smells when entering. They were less full during check out in the morning so someone must have emptied them over night. Maybe move the smoking area away from the front entrance. Other than that the stay was great. I would stay there again.
- Rebecca (3/5): Poor - They gave us the wrong room even though we showed them the printed reservation and ended up paying more. Things going on wasn’t going to argue with the clerk. Toilet would not flush properly and they didn’t fix it before we checked out. Shower was very tiny and had water pressure was very low.
- Treasure (8/5): Very good - What breakfast? Parking, larger shower stall.Adequate for one night stay.
- Joe (8/5): Very good - Clean room and friendly staff
- Carrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Did not offer breakfast only coffee
- Anonymous (10/5): Thank you Booking!! - Everything was FANTASTIC!!
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Jerry (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ts (5/5): Would stay again if we knew other rooms were better than the one we got. - Quaint older hotel. Easy access. Friendly staff. Budget price. Clean room and linens. We had an end room next to the rear exit doors. There was a glass block window in the entry of the room that did not have a shade on it allowing the rear porch light to shine through. Bathroom sink was small with no counter space for supplies. Air conditioning was temperamental and started howling in middle of the night. When AC was turned off, there was some type of sound (gushing water? other ACs?) that was very noisy and went on all night long. Something was very wrong with the bed...it was very sunken-in in the middle (it wrapped us like a taco) and the mattress cover was noisy every time you moved. With the light, AC problems, noise, and the bed, it was hard to get comfortable and sleep. Room did not have a smoke alarm.
- Roten (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Dennis (4/5): - We didn't feel safe knowing primary doors were left unlocked all night. We chose not to stay the night. Just didn't feel good about the environment.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Connie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phillip (8/5): - Very affordable for the price
- Leo (6/5): Pleasant - room was very small
- Melissa (1/5): Bad - No longer associated with Booking.com and I did not have a reservation when I arrived.
- Cunningham (7/5): Good - It was quiet
Good air conditioner
Relatively clean No fresh towels, for 2nd day
One sink handle broken
A little small
- Erlene (8/5): Very good - stayed there before. Friendly staff.
- Cecilia (8/5): Very good -
- Rick (8/5): It was what I expected - N/A No complaints
- Katherine (9/5): Had a good stay overall - Exceeded expectations based on price. Older model but very clean and comfortable. I liked the classic way that you park in front of your room hence, hauling stuff from the car to the room was not a hard task especially at the end of day when everybody’s tired, hungry, and just wanted to eat, shower and sleep. Our stay was good overall. We will stay here again if we’re in the area.
- Nigel (2/5): Spiders! - Spiders. I have at least 5 giant swollen spider bites. Guy at front counter was a real treat. Super creepy vibes. Shower went to scalding hot to cold on it’s own. Would just go back and forth. Woke up with a bunch of spider bites.
- Tim (10/5): Nice for the price - A little run down, but nice for the price. The water was hot and the beds were comfortable
- Vicky (8/5): - Old with very clean rooms.
- david (10/5): - Price is amazing! Well maintained and clean property. Building is old but well kept up. If you are looking for a cheap stay in a clean and safe location close to the highway this is your place. Check in dated but friendly. We enjoyed out stay and would recommend.
- Brad (8/5): Small room - Room was really small, but was clean.
- KURT (8/5): - This is a nice old motel that has been maintained well. It isn’t the Marriott, but the operator was very cordial and the night we spent there was pleasant. Good value for the money. We were looking for a place to sleep well and we did.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - everything was good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is old , but well maintained and the staff is courteous and friendly. Small town, family owned and operated. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff clean rooms and good coffee
- Jack (6/5): - The Motel was very old, but clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The only positive comment I have is that the manager was a friendly old biker.
The room has not been updated in about a century! The mattress was old and lumpy, There were rubber sheets (that should tell you about the clientele) Now the supposedly fitted sheet which must have ripped was patched. It wouldn't stay on the bed and I kept touching the rubber with my skin (AGGHHH!). The walls were paper thin and you could hear other conversations as clearly as if you were in the room. The trains that came thru were as noisy as the other guests who were aruging as they arrived. If that ain't enough, the bathroom door didn't close! (more noise)
Would I stay there again? Not on your life!
- La (10/5): Just the best motel - Just one of the best motel
Super clean amazing people working there
I just loved it
- Heather (10/5): - We arrived very late in the evening and was happy to find the beds were incredibly comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
- Ken (8/5): - All was good-
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is older and has a little retro style about it. It is made of cider block and is quieter than many new hotels built from wood. We had good stay during some really hot humid weather and the window AC worked great.
- Christopher (8/5): Great Customer Service - Each time I have stayed at the Martin House Doug has always called me if I was late getting in to Brookfield. He is very friendly and goes out of his way to make your stay good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Spend a few more dollars elsewhere. - Very damp with mildew occupying the corners. The motel is better than nothing and did have great WiFi.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff was friendly but the place is a bit run down. Shower was pretty gross. Loud neighbors that we were put right next to despite most rooms being empty.
- Dana (6/5): - Leftover tobacco smoke smell in common areas even after extensive cleaning. Room itself seemed OK. Not recommended if you or a loved one are sensitive to smoke smell.
Staff friendly and courteous. Price quite reasonable. You get what you pay for - a no frills place to sleep and shower.
- Shelley (2/5): Never will stay there again - This is my second stay there and only because the other motel in town was full did I stay there again. The bed is horrible and hard. The heat didn’t work and I was cold all night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is older but very clean. Rooms very quiet and the beds slept well. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The man swore at me while checking in. I wouldn’t stay here ever again.
- Kevin (8/5): - Cozy room. Nice bed. Quiet area. Would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check in was quick and easy the bed was very uncomfortable hard as a rock
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A very nice home-owned motel. It was very pleasing but if you are expecting Holiday Inn Express...no. Room was very clean, well taken care of, with older infrastructure, but very quiet, GREAT wi-fi, and very accessible. Yes, I would stay here again.
- Anonymous (10/5): - The staff was very sweet and friendly. And the place was clean. The man working the front desk always greeted me with a smile.
- Greg (8/5): - I was a little worried at first, but the accomodations were great, very clean, and my non smoking room did not even have a hint of smoke. The price was great too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Motel is old but clean. The staff have always been friendly. For the price, it's a good place to stay if you are not overly picky.
- Wslt (10/5): - I messed up and booked a smoking room. The kind lady st the front desk was happy to move us to a nonsmoking room. And it was a much nice room too. We even had a view of the water tower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a family owned no frills hotel. Clean and comfortable. When I am in the area I will stay there again. Price is great.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - bath fixtures and entry door old needed refinshing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and accommodating. An older building. You can hear much of what is going on around you, but well worth the price for a night’s stay.
