- Julie (10/5): It was very comfortable and a great location - Extremely clean Nil
- Michelle (10/5): Perfectly located near the Daylesford lake, quiet and comfortable - Great location and good clean facilities. Nothing
- Marian (8/5): -
- Jennifer (7/5): Enjoyed the stay but note comment above - Location very good. Easy to find. Beds very comfortable Would like to see extra blankets or electric blankets in the room as Daylesford gets very cold at night.
- Justin (8/5): - Location very good Bit dated now. Toilet seat broken. Shower in spa not convenient. Rug lifting in corner - tripping hazard. No matching wine glasses
- Phayer (8/5): Great weekend getaway - Amazing location. We met the staff that were there to clean another apartment and they were lovely to speak to and helped us sort our parking space as there were two cars parked in ours. Bathrooms are dated
- Jodi (8/5): - Lovely cottage, good location, good communication. Would have liked bigger fridge and an oven or Air Fryer as we took food but couldn't cook it.
- Prakash (8/5): -
- Nav (8/5): It was good not great - Location
Vibe Could have been cleaner
Not enough blankets

- Ros (7/5): We enjoyed our stay in this stylish villa although the overall level of cleanliness was somewhat disappointing. - The villa is in an excellent location with the main stores and restaurants in close proximity. The bed is comfortable. Overall the villa’s aesthetics are tasteful. The spa bath needs to be cleaned as there was noticeable pink mould in the jets. A bath mat and hand towel were not supplied. The carpet under the main bed and behind the bedside tables showed evidence of not being vacuumed.

- Chris (9/5): - Good location by lake
Spacious
Not too far from town Ok really
- Anne (9/5): Enjoyed accommodation and surroundings - The air conditioning is not adequate for the area ..
- Christine (7/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): Nice place - Close to lake and town centre Bedroom needs more cooking especially in summer
- ANNABELLE (9/5): Wonderful stay - Accessibility and cleanliness None much
- Panos (3/5): Over priced and over rated. - Comfortable Bed Disappointing stay that was significantly overpriced and overrated. The bathroom sink had no plug, the bathroom light didn’t work, the air conditioner was noisy, the kitchen was very minimal, plates were chipped, furnishings were cheap, and an overpowering room deodoriser lingered throughout the stay and made one of us feel unwell. While the bed was comfortable, road noise, the view of the road, and lack of privacy detracted from the experience. The first morning the cleaner sat behind our villa talking loudly on the phone and smoking, further impacting comfort. When our initial concerns were raised on arrival, the proprietor was dismissive and showed little interest in addressing them. Overall, the standard did not justify the high nightly rate. Not recommended.
- Bianca (10/5): - Location. Would have been great to have a BBQ provided.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very pleasant and comfortable in a fabulous location with an attentive host - Clean, had everything you needed. Excellent location Proximity of neighbours. Some of the interior is starting to date a little.
- MARIA (8/5): - Really lovely with great location Later check out time would be handy with a family xx
- Ebony (9/5): -
- Sophie (7/5): Would recommend for a short trip to Daylesford - Good location close to lakes and township. Clean tidy and plenty of supplies. The fan wasn’t working which made the upstairs room very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in, even with air conditioning running.
- Phoebe (8/5): - Clean and quiet. The place was good for family staycation.
- Karen (10/5): - Quiet modern and super cozy Had issues with entry as wasn't sent the lockbox code
- Nerida (3/5): The property was way too hot- the fan was not working so no air circulating, no assistance provided - The property was in a good location and neat and well-presented. However, on a 38 degree day the fan in the property was not working and the second bedroom uninhabitable. Limited/No assistance provided by property manager to resolve the situation so the property was unbearably hot.
- Aubrey (6/5): Comfortable and in good location. Bathroom a bit ordinary. Shower over bath and no screen - Location Light not working in bathroom. Reported on arrival but not replaced for two days we were there
- Guest (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Perfect mid week getaway - The house was nice and Cosy. In a great location.
Morning walks around the lake and walking distance to local restaurants and bars
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Anderson (6/5): -
- Janine (6/5): Nice for a night - Good location, cute cottage. Clean. No oven, just microwave, only small bar fridge available . Bathroom dangerous as have to step into old spa bath, to shower. Limited bench space in bathroom. Took x2 tissues out of box, then box empty, then no replacement available. To have to have all dishes washed & replaced into cupboard, empty rubbish, it didn’t really feel like a break!
Abit disappointing as it was a night for my birthday celebration with family.
- Marcus (8/5): -
- Wei (7/5): -
- Sandra (6/5): Great place, and location, had a great stay. - Thought the property was beautiful. The only thing I could fault was the place needed a good dusting.
- Kylie (9/5): - Great location close to the lake, just a short stroll down to the coffee shop in the morning was nice.
Easy drive into Main Street for meals and shopping.
- Stephanie (5/5): It was ok - Had everything you needed. Loud, bathroom wasn’t clean (cockroach legs in the bath), and crumbs all over the couch
- Adriane (8/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): Nice but a couple of things irked us - The location is great and the villas have a charming, homey feel about them. It was let down by basic things like not dusting the bedside tables(!?) If simple cleaning tasks like this aren’t undertaken, I worry what else mightn’t be done. For ~$400 a night this really wasn’t good enough, especially considering the person who noticed the dusty table is asthmatic.
Not a fan of requiring guests to wash and put away all dishes, either. Not the end of the world, but if you charge a premium price, a premium service needs to be offered, and this was only first notified after booking, in the pre-arrival email (at least through Booking.com).
- Narelle (10/5): Amazing stay - Location was ideal Not to be able to stay longer
- Woodwell (8/5): Nice location, cute cottage. - pretty spot, near the lake. No view but close. No little things like salt and pepper, cooking oil, which when you have cooking facilities would be nice. Other places do.
Verandah decks were muddy and leaves everywhere. Could have done with a sweep. Cobwebs around the doors and windows.
- Libby (10/5): Lovely stay. - V comfortable & stylish villas. Close to the lake walk & town.
- Fleur (8/5): - Location near the lake was fabulous Unusual bedroom upstairs
- Karen (8/5): A nice villa which was well positioned for lunch at the Lakehouse albeit a little far from the main town if you were wan - The villa was nicely furnished and perfect for a 1-2 night stay The communication with the host was not ideal. I had to send several email communication to request the key code. I would not expected to receive the code prior to check in time however I received an email the night before informing me that I should have received an earlier email with the code. Perhaps this auto generated email was poorly timed. But I then needed to chase the host who finally sent a text with the code only. Nil other context was inn the text. It came off quite rude.
- Lachlan (1/5): Please avoid - We couldn't rate our experience with the 'hosts' any lower. After checking out we became aware that we had left behind a family member's bag of vital medication for their ongoing cancer treatment and cancer record book. Given the amount of medication left behind and the need for this to be administered twice daily this was incredibly stressful for all guests. Angela's number is listed as an 'urgent' contact despite this she did not respond to calls, texts or emails from any of the guests where the urgency of the collection of the bag was explained. After 48 hours of no response from Angela we called off a private number and she answered immediately.
She responded to our concerns with issues around the cleanliness of the room and wasn't willing to talk about the medication until we had resolved the additional cost of the cleaning. We had to follow her up the next day to ask how we need to pay any additional fees to allow for collection of the medication.
Noting we were charged an additional cleaning fee for cleaning of surfaces we would expect to be cleaned between guests carpet, floors, table tops, shower glass and yes travelling with a toddler surfaces do become dirtier than your average guests but we would expect a $100 charge. Please note during the stay the fan in the bathroom would run loudly and shut down, we had to light the pilot light to the gas heater, and the light was flickering in the bathroom - maybe this is an ongoing issue from the January 2025 review.
It seems this accomodation is only focused on making profit and showed no care to our experience - I would avoid!

- Kirsten (7/5): Weekend away for 3 - Very central and close to the lake. Little one loved running around the garden in the property and enjoyed the spa bath. The log fire gas heater was extra toasty and we loved it. The porta cot matress was very thin and a thicker one would've been alot better for our toddler. The split system heater wasn't as warm as the log fire.
- Guest (9/5): Great place, clean and great location! - Very easy, clear directions provided Minor, yet difficult to use the free to air TV in lounge room.
- Pat (8/5): -
- James (9/5): Nice, affordable luxury at a great location - Clean, spacious villa, great location No Heater in the room
- Adam (10/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Ayouz (10/5): -
- McIntyre (7/5): - The location was fantastic. For the price, the Villa was a little older/ less fancy than anticipated. The TV was small and there was only 1 toilet.
- Lucy (6/5): - The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed. The place was clean The heater didn't work on the 1st morning, as the weather was super cold we needed help. The owner took 3 hrs to reply, but didn't seem interested to get help for us. We eventually got it working ourselves. The porch light didn't work and it made it very dangerous to navigate the steps at night. Apparently the owner knew this was a problem already. Very little to no bench/vanity space in bathroom. No where to place anything when at the basin. For such a large room, not well thought out space for convenience. Sleeps 4 people but wouldn't be able to sit 4 people comfortably in lounge area.
- Nicole (9/5): Lovely place, cosy and comfy. - Very cute little place, comfy The sheets were very cold and the sheet was on top of the doona, which was weird. And no doona cover, also weird.
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Guest (7/5): -
- Zach (7/5): - Comfortable and cute villa right next to the lake and a short easy walk to main town Only had heating in living room so bedroom was cold
We asked for a cot for our baby
We did not receive a cot for our baby
This was quite unexpected and inconvenient
- Rebecca (10/5): Cute, clean and close to town - Easy transaction with great communication. Property is cute, clean and close to town
- Stacie (9/5): Relaxing and exactly what we wanted - The bed is amazing, comfy and large!
Spa bath is a great size for a couple
- Ian (8/5): Great stay at a quiet location close to main streets. - Close and quiet location. Nice facilities. Would have been good to have a vacuum cleaner etc to clean up small things on carpet. Plus an oven instead of dish washer would have been handy and better.
- Deanne (7/5): Good -
- Argiris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Johdean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (8/5): Room for improvement - Location was fantastic. Check in could be improved, we had to chase the manager for access details with problems not receiving the codes despite numerous messages and calls. The general tidiness of the property outside could be improved ( cobwebs, untidy entrance , cobwebs through the interior of the house). Cleaners arrived day after and stayed nearly all day going to and from a garden shed directly in front of our villa where the linen was stored - notably not in any covers or safe from spiders etc. We were a bit surprised by that and felt that our privacy really wasn't taken into account considering what we paid to stay. We really expected better for the location and as advertised.
- Samantha (10/5): Great villa for a romantic weekend away - Amazing villa ,very comfortable, cosy, and clean, great communication from hosts a+ Nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely villa, wish we had longer to stay. - The villa is lovely. It was extremely cold when we arrived but the heating (x2) worked well. Lovely space and very clean. The front steps were very slippery and a sensor light could help to make that safer.
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Location was lovely, great probably only for a couple or so. Villas not geared up for groups of 5 adults. Too small in size and not enough chairs to go round for comfort It was really cold in the villa upon arrival, turning on the heating prior to arrival in the winter months would be a nice and inviting touch.
Secondly, having electric blankets on the beds would also be rather useful.
Thirdly and most importantly, the lighting in the car park is non existent in the evening. This is very dangerous when u r unfamiliar and if it's been raining with the leaves slippery on the ground. A sensor light should be installed before someone has an accident getting in and out of their car.
No personal touch given to your arrival, basic facilities
Not enough comfortable seating in the villa for 5 adults to relax. Too tight to move about
- Anonymous (10/5): Great stop in a fab town. Place was perfect for us, had all we needed. - Size, Location, Town. All very good.
- Franne (8/5): WE had a very enjoyable stay -
- Qing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (10/5): It was a wonderful relaxing stay. Loved it all. - The location was great and it was lovely and quiet. the bed was very comfortable and lying on the beautiful couch by the fire was lovely.
- Hui (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mushda (7/5): Good - Cozy villa, as per the images. Nice furnitures. Upon booking our stay, our prerequisite for a villa was to have a fire place. The fireplace was faulty. It had the most disturbing loud clanking noise, and when we went to turn it off, it took a good 10-15 minutes to turn off. We had to leave the villa as it was so loud. This was quite disappointing. I notified Angela, she was very apologetic and said she would book in a service. However, paying $375 for a place with a malfunctioning gas heater was quite disappointing. Waste of money when there were cheaper options available without gas fire heaters.
- Merv (8/5): Very enjoyable - Great facility that met expectations Shower. Difficulty to get into by my wife who has mobility issues
- Taner (8/5): Very good -
- Marcia (8/5): Great accommodation that enhanced our Daylesford getaway - Great location. Comfortable facilities with all we needed for a relaxing stay in Daylesford. There was nothing we didn’t like but a few things need attention.
Light on front deck not working and although fire was beautifully warm, the fan was incredibly noisy and made conversation and hearing the tv difficult.
- Tony (9/5): Great place to stay -
- Venetia (9/5): Superb -
- Kirandeep (8/5): Comfy n close - Excellent location Not very spacious. Can be cleaner
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eden (9/5): Superb -
- Beverly (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (9/5): Cosy & clean place, close to everything - it was our 2nd time here, perfect accomodatiom for the family of 5, great location near the lake, the host is good too, overall it was a cosy place, we will definitely come back again & again, thanks so much
- Hayley (9/5): Nice little get away-Family of 3 - Had a good stay at Lake Orchard Villas. The cabin was well equipped in the kitchen, there was enough towels and plenty of bathroom amenities. We were staying with our baby so we didn’t use the upstairs area and used the arm chair to block the stairway so that he didn’t climb up there. The upstairs is a loft with additional beds. It was very close to town and the Lake House Spa. We didn’t go to the spa as it wasn’t child friendly but we had a meal at the Daylesford Hotel and Cliffy’s and both offered high chairs for our little one. We went to the Amazing Mill Markets which fits a pram in the aisles, the Chocolate Mill was also pram friendly and we drove over to the Creswick Wool Mill which was also pram friendly inside. There was also an outdoor area with farm animals for the children to explore. Mt Franklin is close by and good for picnics with children. The lake is right near the accomodation and has a walking track. A few sections were difficult with a pram. It can be really hard finding baby friendly activities but we had enough to do to fill 3 days and 2 nights.
