- Peter (1/5): Worst 5 star I have ever stayed at in +50 years - Not sure Built directly over underground train so entire building subtle shaking & swaying making sound sleep impossible. Breakfast buffet was mediocre. Very poor value for the high price. I will never stay there again

I really disliked the electrical system in the room, all part of the same switch. I like to leave a light on in the bathroom at night which was not possible. I had to put a pile of towels on the floor to keep the bathroom door slightly open to be able to see the where the toilet was. I would recommend a separate switch for the bathroom. My room was never cleaned while I was there. The housekeepers knocked on the door while I was on the phone working. I asked them to return in 20 minutes which they did not do. I would recommend a better selection of fruit for breakfast.

- Shaffer (10/5): A top level experience in accommodation, food, and service. - I’m not sure where to start. This hotel lived up to a high level experience. I arrived at the hotel early due to an early morning arrival from the US. Not only did the staff get me into my room 5 hours before checkin, but they gave me a free upgrade to their premier suite. Then, if that was not enough, they left a bottle of wine with a hand written note. So impressive. While I waited for them to get my room ready they held my luggage and escorted me, with cafe, to the rooftop lounge (with exceptional views of the Barcelona cityscape). When they came back to get me and take me to my room, they had already placed my luggage in the room. I had my breakfast included which I’m glad I did because the assortment and quality was exceptional. I also took advantage of their spa service with the 1.5 hr Ohla Experience massage and facial treatment. I highly recommend. I felt relaxed and fantastic after. I truly could go on and on about this Ohla hotel. What I will say is that I would stay there again!

Fitness center, bepaalde toestellen waren niet aangesloten en konden niet gebruikt worden. Het Japans restaurant bestaat niet meer. Ik was opgesloten in een toilet dicht bij de lobby en kon er niet uit zonder hulp van de onderhoudsdienst. Ze kenden het probleem maar hadden nog geen affiche laten plaatsen dat deze toilet niet meer gebruikt kon worden.

As soon as we got in, they offered us a wet towel to clean our hands, and a complimentary drink. Their device was always amazing. Focusing even on the smallest details. It’s in a great location, walking distance from beautiful Barcelona neighborhoods. The breakfast is worth it, a lot of selections. The rooftop is also beautiful. They also offer parking (for a fee) if you decide to rent a car.

- ljg612 (4/5): A Big Disappointment - I spent considerable time researching a hotel in which to stay for 3 nights after our transatlantic cruise. We have been to Barcelona several times previously and wanted to stay in a different section of the city, thus choosing the Eixample area. We selected a junior suite. Upon entering the hotel, we were warmly greeted and offered a glass of champagne. The lobby was certainly not impressive for a five-star hotel. About 1 pm they said our room was ready and the bell hop escorted us to our room on the second floor. After exiting the elevator, it was so dark that it was difficult to actually see where one was going. There were little, tiny lightbulbs in some of the corners of the hall. I was glad the bellhop showed us to our room, whereas, I don't think we would have found the toilet. It was in a very small, closet like area, that someone of size would have difficulty using. The room arrangement was very strange. You entered the room from the dark hallway, walked down a hall of about 10 feet. To the right was the hidden toilet, to the left was the bathtub, then double vanity and then at the end was the shower. Mind you, this is all very visible from the bedroom and sitting room area. The room had a very "cold" feel to it as far as decor. The bed was comfortable and it did have a nice seating area. Regarding the restaurants, we attempted to eat dinner at their main restaurant twice, but it was closed for a private party both times. Although several reviews stressed the assistance they received from the front desk, etc, we did not find that to be the case.

- RichardC183 (10/5): Epitome of Customer Service Excellence - Booked as part of a package once we disembarked Cunard's Queen Victoria in Barcelona, the Hotel Ohla Eixample is fabulously well situated and provides accommodation and service worthy of its 5 * rating. A stay at any hotel in the world can be comfortable but it is the staff and service that make any stay memorable. The service team at Ohla Eixample epitomised complete excellence in the delivery of customer service. From our initial engagement upon arrival with Mohamadou and his fabulously happy outlook on lifevto checking in with Igor and Marcos, we could not have asked for more in the way of engagement, professionalism, courtesy and charm. These guys - with their colleagues - addressed every request and managed any concern that we had - with regard to transportation - with complete dedication. As for the accommodation, our room was a standard Double with walk in shower; plenty of storage space and virtually no extraneous noise to disturb our stay. The bed was supremely comfortable which was totally conducive to a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was available uni the spacious Xerta Restaurant area and offered an excellent selection of hot and cold food, fruit, cold meats, pastries etc...... If you have the opportunity to stay at Ohla Eixample, please grab the opportunity with both hands - our thanks to Igor, Marcos and the Team for all that did for us. We were very sorry to leave ;-)

- Fabrizio (9/5): Eccezionale davvero! - Posizione eccellente così come l’accoglienza, la pulizia e i servizi. Anche l’ampiezza della camera non è un elemento da sottovalutare. La camera era veramente bella nonché ampia nuova e moderna ma spesso quando si esagera nella modernità si perde veramente molto in praticità. Bagno a vista completamente in camera neanche i vetri di separazione. (Solo wc a parte) domotica estrema che non consente di accendere o spengere la singola luce pertanto se uno dei due deve semplicemente lavarsi i denti deve accendere tutta la camera e svegliare l’altro.

- maxgeorgia (10/5): Wonderful hotel! - We chose this hotel based on reviews and it did not disappoint. We knew that we wanted to stay in the Eixample area and this hotel was in a great location. The service was great all around and so friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful suite with a terrace with great views. The included breakfast was wonderful and there were many choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

A localização é simplesmente perfeita, estratégica, elegante e muito conveniente para explorar Barcelona com facilidade. Logo na chegada, o hotel surpreende positivamente: fomos recebidos com um welcome drink (cava de ótima qualidade) acompanhado de trufas realmente sensacionais, um início de experiência elegante e acolhedor. No quarto, outro gesto simpático: um cartão personalizado e um vinho de cortesia. O serviço de housekeeping merece elogios: eficiente e atencioso, realizado em duas etapas (manhã e noite), mantendo o quarto sempre organizado. As amenities são de boa qualidade e o conforto geral da hospedagem é adequado à proposta do hotel. Os quartos são confortáveis, mas não são amplos, e há uma questão importante de layout: não há porta separando o banheiro do quarto (apenas no vaso sanitário), além de um box com vidro voltado para o ambiente, o que compromete a privacidade. Para casais pode ser aceitável, mas em viagens com filhos ou amigos isso se torna bastante desconfortável. Apesar da boa qualidade das amenities, não houve reposição de sabonetes durante os dias de estadia, o que é um ponto de atenção para um hotel dessa categoria. Outro detalhe negativo é a ausência de espelho de corpo inteiro, algo simples, mas relevante. Entre os pontos mais sensíveis, destaco a cobrança adicional da taxa municipal, mesmo com a reserva indicando valor fechado. Entendo que esse tipo de ajuste deveria ser absorvido pelo hotel ou melhor comunicado previamente. O café da manhã é bom, mas não impressiona. Para um hotel desse padrão, e ainda mais considerando a associação com o restaurante Xerta Restaurant, que possui estrela Michelin, a expectativa era maior. Há pouca variedade de jamón e, embora existam outros embutidos, o conjunto não se destaca. Além disso, a equipe do café da manhã não demonstrou muita empatia e notei falhas na limpeza de utensílios, como copos e talheres com aspecto de higienização insuficiente. Outro ponto que impacta o conforto é o blackout ineficiente nos quartos, dificultando dormir até mais tarde. Por fim, há um contraste claro entre a experiência do café da manhã e o nível do jantar, este sim muito mais alinhado com a proposta sofisticada do hotel.

- mcqf (10/5): Excellent service, great location - We spent a wonderful week at Ohla Eixample in April. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring this great city. We opted for the penthouse suite and though it was somewhat cool when we were there, we enjoyed being able to walk out onto the terrace. The staff at Ohla went out of their way to make sure that our room was perfectly comfortable for us. (My husband's allergies were acting up and they made sure all allergens were removed). The walking tours we organized through Andrea and Nussoni were the highlights of our stay. Thank you for an interesting and fun holiday!
- davidtY3895EI (10/5): Ohla Eixample-A shining example to others - We are an English couple.Arrived on Monday 13th having made a last minute decision to come to Barcelona despite my Parkinson's allied to a painful frozen shoulder.I also picked up a stomach bug which lasted all week until i was sick on the last night of our stay- the 18th. During the week i regularly needed help and care and the staff at the hotel were amazing- right down to the last day when the receptionist/manager (not sure) actually accompanied my wife to the local pharmacy to make sure she bought the right medication.Unbelievable! This hotel exceeds your expectations and then some.It is a modern spotless hotel with a great rooftop pool in a lovely locationThe staff are professional and genuinely care about the wellbeing of each guest.It isn't the cheapest but it is worth every penny.

But what takes this hotel to the next level is the amazing customer service and the awesome people who work here. My husband and I came here to celebrate my 50th birthday and from the moment we arrive we were made to feel so special - nothing was too much trouble and everyone we met (from the front desk to the cleaners) was so friendly Andrea and her team pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a truly wonderful stay!! - Lars (10/5): We loved this hotel in beautiful Eixample. - This Ohla hotel is in a great location on a quiet block in lively Eixample, where you can find great shopping, food and sights such as La Pedrera. Our rooms where spacious and well designed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The best part is the pool area on the roof, which makes a stay here a real vacation. -

The room was surprisingly quiet with great soundproof windows. There is also not so much traffic along this street. You can walk to La Rambla in just 1 minute. Bigger twin beds, more variety in restaurant menu. We had twin beds, unfortunately, they are only 90cm wide and it's easy to fall off if you move a lot during sleep!

Their kindness and professionalism elevated the entire experience. We also love the rooftop area - it's a fantastic place to unwind with a great view after a day of exploring the city. The location is ideal as well- quiet enough to relax yet close to everything Barcelona has to offer. I couldn't have chosen a better hotel for such a special occasion. I highly recommend Ohla Eixample for anyone celebrating something meaningful or simply looking for a top-tier stay in Barcelona. We'll definitely be back.

Das Hotel ist niemals ein 5 Sterne Hotel- max. 3 Sterne- schade, da es mein Geburtstag Urlaub war und sehr enttäuscht wurde. Das Frühstück ist sehr enttäuschend- das Personal leider etwas überfordert. Kaffee aus einem kaffeautomaten in einem 5sterne Haus? Zumal meistens sehr schmutzig und Milch für Cappuccino nicht nachgefüllt. Es gibt wunderbare Bäckereien in Barcelona aber im Hotel nur Massenware aus dem Supermarkt. Auch die Qualität der angebotenen Dinge sehr fragwürdig- niemals der Hauptstadt Kataloniens würdig.

- I4546UKjanes (10/5): A genuine welcome - From the moment we stepped out of the taxi we were welcomed by hotel staff. The welcome was warm, friendly and genuine. Nothing was too much trouble during our short stay and staff went out of their way to make sure everything was too our liking. Our deluxe rooms were spacious and well equipped. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Great quality linen, fixtures and fittings, and attention to detail. A bottle of wine and chocolates in the rooms upon arrival, and a chocolate on the bed each evening. Also plenty of complimentary water in the fridge, robe and slippers, a selection of teas and coffee pods. The breakfast was sumptuous and plentiful with all diets and tastes catered for although happily with a strong Catalan influence, so lots of new foods to try. There is a hot and cold buffet, continental selection, some gluten free bread and cakes and a fabulous selection of fresh fruits, juices and hot drinks. There was also the option of cook to order items such as crepes or eggs your preferred way. The location is beautiful, clean and well kept, with plent of Catalan character. Despite being within a short walk (10-25mins) from all the major sights, the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. The hotel, Eixample and Barcelona exceeded all my expectations. The hotel and all it's staff made the holiday something very special.
- bas (9/5): Four Nights In Barcelona - The lobby, breakfast area was comfortable, convenient and inviting. The pool looked beautiful but it was too cool to spend time there. The room was spacious. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly. My favorite thing was the heat/cooling/ventilation system! It was effortless to use (up arrow for warmer, down arrow for cooler, and THATS ALL). Hot or cold air.was never blowing directly on us, but the air circulated beautifully. The room layout felt odd - tub and shower open to bed area, toilet in a tiny cell-like room. But my biggest complaint was the fancy lighting system: Day, Relax, Night and Master Off, I think. I would have much preferred to be able to deal with each light in the room separately,thereby having certain ones on and certain ones off, not an entire set of lights on (or off) at all times. A staff member even came to our room with a technician who gave us some pointers, but we were still not able to just have one dim light on at night, in case we needed to get up.
- marienjnj (8/5): Comfortable hotel in a safe part of Barcelona. Breakfast is included -10 minutes Gaudi. - Beautiful part of Barcelona safe. The staff is amazing and helpful (especially Juanma). We had some nice restaurant recommendations from most of the staff. The staff is the highlight here. The hotel itself is more a four star not a 5 star as we believed. The hotel is dark (hotel hallways - color and lighting choices etc) and more modern so if you are older the lighting in the rooms is very low light. It is located about 10-15 minute walk from Gaudis Casa Mila and Batllo, easy taxi rides to Park Guell and Sagrada. My chief complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom there was a lot of black mold in the grout which drives me nuts as it makes everything seem dirty and had not been cleaned well in a while. Beds are comfortable but make sure you get a room that doesn't face a busy street. You can ask for feather pillows which I recommend. They do have a nice turn down with lavender scent. They do have breakfast included. Usual meats and some fruit and bread. You can order off the menu - I always expect smoked salmon in Europe and this was not available but I did ask for it everyday. We did not eat in the restaurant for dinner.
