Giovanni (9/5): - La increible biodiversidad qie se puede ver en el hotel. Pude apreciar más animales que en la reserva La ubicación, es un poco remoto y la calle era muy difícil
Felix Sanchez Sanchez (8/5): Desconecte de todo - Las vistas desde la segunda planta son muy buenas, puedes ver mucha vegetación, aves y el atardecer. Tiene un balcón con un par de sillas y una mesa que puedes usar comodamente. Cama conformables, limpio y sabanas blancas, en general la habitación muy limpia y acogedora, toda en madera. El baño es idenpendiente dentro de la habitación, es amplio y limpio con agua caliente, no tiene aire acondicionado pero no lo necesitas, la temperatura es muy fresca puedes aprovechar la brisa abriendo las puertas tipo francesas. El desayuno es muy bueno y la atencion de la recepcionista es muy bueno también, super atenta. La seguridad de la puerta de la habitación, es solo un cerrojo de un solo paso, de los que se usan en los cuartos internos de una casa y no tiene otro tipo de cerradura internamente

Christopher (5/5): This place needs some work pillows WiFi and a little sound proofing - Need to invest in comfortable pillows. No one slept well because of awful pillows. Needs to have functional WiFi. Window that closes in bathroom to keep out insects would be good too. Walls way too thin. Could hear room 2 over quite clearly. Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. Views and property are quite nice. It’s just pretty dated and needs a bit of work for the 100$ a night they charge. Seems more like a 40-50$ a night place best

Annelisa (7/5): Heerlijk verblijf gehad op geluidsoverlast na - Prachtige en rustige locatie, mooie en schone kamers. Geweldige bedden! Toen wij er waren, waren er ook 30 kinderen van 10 jaar oud. Hier waren we van te voren niet over geïnformeerd. Dat maakte dat het een stuk minder rustig was dan we gehoopt hadden. De kamers zijn namelijk erg gehorig.

Ricarda (10/5): Cute, little hotel in the middle of nature! - Super cute, small hotel with a lot of atmosphere away from the trouble in the city center in the middle of nature. Super friendly people. If you are looking for a cheap and easy stay, this is perfect for you! Don’t expect to much glam, this is like a old farm - but clean and really relaxed! We really enjoyed the calm stay.

Buffiere de Lair (7/5): Big and comfortable bedroom, breakfast and hosting disappointing. - Big rooms and beds. Beds were very comfortable. Nice view with sunsets. We had to pay more than what we selected on Booking, no explanation just « I have this app that tells me this is the price, you have to pay ». Breakfast was disappointing, and only starts at 7am when all the activities in the area start at 7am too. We did not really feel welcomed. Also, it is not the hotel’s fault but you must have a big car to get to the property as the road is in really really bad shape.

Henny (8/5): Goed hotel maar we gaan er niet meer terug. - Mooi uitzicht en ruime kamer ingericht met voornamelijk donker gevernist hout en idem meubels. Het lijkt me ooit een prachtige accommodatie te zijn geweest waar nu met een lik witte verf (niet altijd binnen de lijntjes) wat opsmukwerk is gebeurd. Parkeerplaatsen op het terrein. Personeel was niet erg vriendelijk of geïnteresseerd. Ontbijt was karig. De weg naar het hotel vraagt een 4x4 voertuig.

Personale gentile, sorridente e sempre disponibile. Colazione semplice ma adeguata. Ho apprezzato molto il fatto che al checkout venga chiesto un feedback su cosa possa essere migliorato: è un segnale di attenzione verso l’ospite e di reale volontà di crescere. Un aspetto migliorabile riguarda il servizio di lavanderia: gli indumenti non vengono riconsegnati direttamente in camera e, per chi trascorre l’intera giornata fuori e rientra quando la reception è già chiusa, questo può creare difficoltà nella gestione dei bagagli. Nel nostro caso abbiamo dovuto attendere la riapertura della reception alle 7 del mattino successivo per poter recuperare i vestiti e rifare le valigie.

Contrary to many reviews, no 4x4 is needed — we arrived easily with a regular rental car, even at night and in bad weather. Excellent stay, would book again. Rooms are a bit noisy, which is normal in Costa Rica. Some dust under the bed.

Dennis M (10/5): - Auf unserer Rundreise durch dieses wunderschöne Land war dieses Hotel eines der besten und saubersten. Die Lage ist super, die Anfahrt allerdings etwas eigen. Da wir, wie die meisten hier, mit einem 4x4 unterwegs waren, war das alles kein Problem. Das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist unschlagbar. Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Größe des Zimmers war super. Da man sich in einem Land wie Costa Rica sowieso nur nachts im Hotel aufhält, legen wir lediglich Wert auf Sauberkeit und bequeme Betten. Der Anfahrtsweg. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Janine (10/5): Entspannung, Ruhe & Frieden! - Die ganze Unterkunft hat einfach Ruhe & Frieden ausgestrahlt. Diese Unterkunft war mit Abstand die gemütlichste Unterkunft die wir in Costa Rica hatten. Man hat sich so unfassbar wohl gefühlt. Die Inhaberin war total nett und freundlich. Wir haben hier zu Frühstück den leckersten Gallo Pinto unserer ganzen Reise gegessen! Monteverde muss unserer Meinung nicht in jeder Costa Rica Reise gemacht werden, wenn aber, würden wir immer diese Unterkunft buchen!! Im Bad waren Ameisen. Das war nicht weiter schlimm.

Pangyarihan (7/5): - We had the exclusivity of being the only guest in the hotel at this period. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating. The size of the room was nice and spacious. Nice wooden floor and furnitures (Chalet feeling). Location of the hotel is good. It is out of the town (Santa Elena), in a very quiet area. Located approximately 10 minutes drive. I would suggest to put yellow lights in the room to make the bedroom at night more intimate and warm.

Given that the hotel is in the forest there are quite a few insects flying around, also the access to the hotel was tricky, the road is slightly bumpy.

Jeanne (9/5): Cloud Forest Cabin - The cabin like feel, the view from the patio, and the small boutique hotel vibe. Also, the included sit-down breakfast. Plumbing. But this is a Costa Rica thing, not just a property thing.
Savannah (10/5): An amazing time in Monteverde. Good for the soul. <3 - The view from our balcony was absolutely incredible. The room itself was very spacious. The staff is so so nice. I will forever have so many visual memories of our stay here.. from watching the birds in the morning, watching the sunset from our balcony, to enjoying pineapple at breakfast with the music in the background. The hotel is a perfect distance from Santa Elena, as well as all the different companies that offer different tours. If we ever were to go back to Monteverde, this hotel would be our top choice to stay at. It is difficult to find something we didn't like when we truly enjoyed our stay the most at this location. We spent a week in Costa Rica and our time in Monteverde was the best part of our entire trip.

Holger (9/5): Superb - Stunning view from our room with brilliant sunset. The beds were top. The road to the lodge is special in all ways and not just a gravel road.... 4x4 is recommended. Better so, we just had a normal Hyundai Sedan with front wheel drive and not really a lot clearance above ground. It was more than a challenge not damaging the car and get up the hill. With rain and wet roads, no chance. However, it was fun for me.

Irene (1/5): Bad - nice girl on reception Decent size scorpion in the room. Had to leave property as not feeling able to sleep. Explained situation to girl on reception who was understanding and advised emailing the property for refund of the second night as showing available for refund on booking. Sadly, having paid for the whole stay on arrival, the owner has not responded to mine or booking’s attempt to contact them about the issue.
Naomi (7/5): The lodge is not close to the town but it is peaceful and has a beautiful view from the balcony. The wooden ambience was - The beds were very comfy, and beautiful view from the terrace. The wooden floors and interior was very nice. Breakfast is also nice. Staff were friendly. When we checked in, there were no towels. No soap holder in the shower room. We didn’t realize we needed to hang a sign on the door to have the room cleaned. We expected a cleaned room and when we arrived it was in the same condition and too late to ask for cleaning. Wifi connection is weak in the rooms and also main lobby and breakfast area.

Emily (9/5): Great remote option for a Monteverde vacation. - We really enjoyed our stay at Bosque Verde lodge. It's a bit more remote and further outside the Santa Elena area, which made it easy for us to get to our coffee tour and night tour. However, it's definitely a bit further to get to the Cloud Forest than other BnBs in Santa Elena. There's plenty of food options nearby as well. Overall, the room was really quaint and clean, had a great view and balcony. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The road to get there is definitely rustic, though we had no problem with it in just a 4x2.

Lizzy (8/5): A pretty lodge away from the hustle and bustle of town - We had a 3 night stay. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Although a little way from Santa Elena, we had a hire car so the location was no problem, and it was very quiet out of the town. Beautiful garden. The breakfast room was clearly in the middle of refurbishment, but the food was good and service very friendly. I don’t think evening meals were an option, but we were happy to drive for our dinner.

Bine (4/5): Kalt und mangelnde Sauberkeit - Die Zimmer sind leider nicht sauber! Die Böden sind schmutzig, in der Dusche befanden sich Haare an den seitlichen Fliesen von mindestens zwei Personen. In monteverde herrscht ein kühleres Klima, die Fenster sind nicht ansatzweise abgedichtet, Insekten und Kälte haben leichtes Spiel. Im Vergleich mit anderen Unterkünften war diese deutlich teurer, deshalb ist meine Enttäuschung, dass es an Basics wie Sauberkeit mangelnd besonders groß
Sebastian (8/5): - En general el hotel esta muy bien, aseado, buena comida, y el servicio muy bien. La calle para llegar no esta en buen estado y esta a unos 10 mins del centro de Monteverde.
Jeffrey (6/5): Quiet, clean and basic. - Wifi was barely usable. Rooms sparse without refrigerator and no shampoo provided. Staff very warm and friendly. Walls thin.
Verified traveler (6/5): Great for views, but a bit too remote - Overall, staff was accommodating. Expect only the basics from this hotel, beyond the incredible view (if the clouds are less dense during your stay). Staff speak limited English so a bit difficult to work through them on recommendations and tours/accommodations. Almost no tour companies would pick/drop us off at this hotel because it's really in another city and too far out of their way/ opposite direction from the main tour attractions and too far from where bulk of where tourists actually stay. I could also hear my neighbors through a thin wall. It doesn't look like they too many guests at a time so depending on what you're looking for, this may be a good hotel option for you. We are in our mid 30s and are pretty active and did a lot of the tours/adventures and didn't rent a car, so in hindsight, we would've rather stayed at a hotel closer to town (Monteverde).
Verified traveler (10/5): Good views - Loved the open windows and good views. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Jing (2/5): - The hotel was in a very remote location and no shuttles from any of the tours in Monteverde provide pickup from this hotel. The receptionist was very nice but all services were not up to a hotel standard. The wifi was not working, along with many other things. There were no tour information readily available. Also, no one spoke English.
