Guest Reviews
- Lanne83 (10/5): - The setting for this hotel is amazing. Our stay there was short but memorable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall stay was good. Good view of the river from room. Only downside was the location. Very remote area. No food joints close by so food inside the resort is very expensive. Bad roads. Bed sheets were stained.
- Nitin (8/5): Amazing stay. - We loved our stay at Cuckmere. The only downsight was that the bedsheets were stained.
- helen and Amie (10/5): Beautiful views, clean, new, great food and staff - We followed advice of other travellers and got a hotel outside Munnar. This is a beautiful location overlooking waterfall. Hotel had lovely design and welcome - just like the picture. Room spacious, only open for 5 months, lovely veranda. Take local currency for meals and extras - they take visa but preferred cash ( we only had small number of extras - but contrast to Mumbai where we paid for everything by card).
Restaurant ambiance disappointing and not very relaxing. Did not do justice to the rest of hotel. However what it lacked in ambiance was more then made up by very helpful and attentive staff . We followed chefs advice and had delicious feasts breakfast and dinners. They did European breakfast but we took Kerala style and were very glad we did. Delicious.
No central place to relax as a group of people which is a bit of a miss given the fab location and rest of the hotel ( though wonder if this is an India thing - it Was same at Taj Palace in Mumbai!). When we were there another group appeared to be a bit grumpy - no wine (hotel can get it in but need warning - common in Kerala) - staff handled situation very professionally.
Would certainly go back. Very friendly staff who help you with anything - they arranged super tracking trip for us with an excellent guide. 30 mins before Munnar by Auto which seems the going distance to get somewhere nice.
Thanks to all the staff and good lucl - we certainly recommend this hotel. Helen and Amie
- Diogo (10/5): Wonderful views. Wifi to be improved. - The views are extraordinary! That is the main attraction of this 2 month old hotel. Certain areas of it (v.g swimming pool) are not completed yet. Certain services (v.g: bike rental), although indicated in the hotel profile are not available. The staff is very helpful. Breakfast, lunch and diner are very good, local food, wide variety of fruits. Internet in the common areas work well, but it simply does not in the rooms, which is unacceptable to a hotel of this level. The place is quite. 401 is the hotel“s best room. The rooms are beautifully decorated. They have no air conditioning but you won't need it. The location is somehow remote, so you will need a car for almost everything you decide to do outside the hotel. The fact that it is remote is precisely its strength.
