Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - bien ,bien placée, personnels agréable, confortable par rapport niveau prix
- MARIA (10/5): Cheery and colorful - Last minute reservation and yet I was able to check in late at night. That was a huge relief! The room was clean and brightly colored and lifted my bad mood! Next time I'll try to stay longer to enjoy the surprisingly spacious balcony :)
- 716garrettc (10/5): Reasonably priced and 15 minutes taxi from everywhere. - Irish couple who stayed here for 3 nights, late 20’s. It was a good location for the price. Very nice people running the hotel. It has an elevator if you have heavy bags. Spacious rooms. Would recommend.
- Urielsena (10/5): Excelent - Excelent service and room. A very big and clean room, very spacious bathroom and people very very educated and lovely. Nice location that you can go walking anywhere in the city and metro station. I would come back. Excelente!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The owner of this property was very helpful with direction to the property and the cost in public transport. The old gentleman who checked us in didn’t speak English but he was very sweet and communication was via telephone to his son.
The hotel isn’t in the best district of Athens and I wouldn’t reccomend lone females to walk along these streets it was a bit seedy and indeed there were quite a few police on the streets when we walked back at 3:30 in the afternoon.
The hotel is clean but run down and the walls were very thin and conversations in next room could be clearly heard.
You get what you pay for the hotel was cheap and the staff were nice.
- mariosZ3841WO (10/5): Better than expected. Great location. - Very convenient location in a quiet neighborhood (and safe as far as I can tell). Very polite and helpful staff. Clean place. Maybe some details could be fixed but in general a nice place. I would visit it again.
- Jan (8/5): Alles gut soweit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent and clean - Getting there was a bit of a challenge but I blame the taxi driver for that. Room was clean and comfortable, had some difficulty with communication but it all worked out. I was able to walk to the Acropolis which was my main reason for visiting Athens. I didn’t venture out at night by myself as I was unfamiliar with the area. Overall it was decent.
- Nyree (10/5): Bright, cheery and quirky - It is a very quirky, unique place, the room was bright and cheery, they even have an old 1 person elevator/lift that plays music on the way up. The neighborhood seemed quiet when I was there, one block away is another major street with modern cafe's, groceries and public busses.. Walked there from public transit in 20 minutes. Keep in mind the streets are narrow and the names are long so have a good map marked out before you leave. (grab the free one at the airport, and the public transit map too). Or cab it.
- Ohad (10/5): - Best value for the money in Athens
- Amy (10/5): Great - Very cool hotel very kind staff
- Roman (6/5): Athens Center - Close to the center, clean, friendly staff (sometimes grandpa is at the reception and he does not speak a single English word, but calls his grandson) and cheap
- Torsten (6/5): Sehr einfaches Hotel in ruhiger Lage. - Sehr einfaches Hotel in ruhiger Lage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the attention and care shown and given by host Dimitrius.
- olamina87 (10/5): Great place to stay on a budget! - We loved loved loved our stay here. This is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is clean, a walk or short ride to anywhere in the city you would want to go, and the staff is SO nice. We really enjoyed them, and our stay here. We were incredibly comfortable (A/C was great, our room was great, it was more like a suite than a room, and again it was all very clean). Great bang for your buck!
- Terri (8/5): - Very convenient, lovely decor, friendly staff, great price!
- liams126 (8/5): Fantastic budget hotel - Great budget hotel for those spending most of their time in Athens and not in their hotel room.
The staff are beyond friendly, with free water and cherries brought to your room. The rooms are basic but spacious with their own balconies and a nice view of the streets and neighbouring houses. The shower and bathroom facilities, again, are basic but perfectly servisable. It is located a 20-30 minute walk from the centre of town.
I could not recommend this hotel more for budget travellers who only need the essentials.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Big room big terrace. Annoyingly tiny shower. Thin walls so when other guests are on the phone you will know all about it.
- Polly (8/5): - Quirky little hotel quite basic but very clean. Bed comfortable if a little hard but great pillows. The staff were all lovely and friendly. Dimitri could not have been more helpful ggiving directions an
- mark (10/5): 3 days in Athens - Friendly & homely hotel.
15 mins walk to nearest metro & about 20 mins to the historic centre of Athens.
Staff are welcoming & helpful. Room was clean & comfortable.
- jamesharryw (10/5): Frida ! - I had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Frida for a few days before I took the Boat to the Dodecanese . It was my base for getting around Athens . It is in a perfect location ...away from the heavy traffic and noise of the Inner City . The Hotel itself is in a characterful neighbourhood and there are a number of fine eateries close by BUT that's by the by - there are lots of fabulous places to eat in Athens . What is important IS in this short review is to draw attention to the staff and thank them for making my stay SO pleasant . I was right up on the 4 th floor .... I had a lovely little Balcony which I sat out on in the morning and had my Greek Coffee - delivered to my door by the lovely lady who worked there in the daytime . My room was wonderfully clean and bright ...my ensuite was a delight . I could not fault the comfort and cleanliness , BUT what The Frida had that you can't manufacture - it had SOUL . For this I would like to thank the Manager and his lovely Father for making me feel at home ... There were always there if I needed them for anything ... A very economical place to stay , a very interesting place to stay .... it was all in all a very COOL Hotel . Thank you xxx
- F4213FRjenniferl (10/5): Frida is a truly wonderful place to stay! - Dmitri was an amazing host. He made sure our stay was comfortable and gave us great tips for our 2 weeks in Greece. The hotel is incredibly charming, with a tiny customized elevator, and super interesting decor. Would definitely recommend!
- JillG807 (10/5): Dog Friendly Hotel in Athens - We booked a 3 day stay and ended up staying another 3 days as we like it so much. There is a park at the end of the street and lots of cafes and restaurants, all reasonaby priced. Dimitrious the owner couldn't have been more helpful and made numerous phone calls for us to arrange pet taxis and transport to northern Greece. It is a budget hotel so breakfast is not included, but he ordered in breakfast to eat on our terrace (10 euros for 2 - very good value). He is very kind and knowledgable and is happy to look up info on the internet for us. He even bought our dog some special dog biscuits as a present. We will definitely stay here again if we are in Athens.
- arzklh (6/5): a bit far from the center - a very cheap hotel in Exarchia, very lively neighborood. It looks a bit like a brothel, with fancy lights and ceiling mirror in the room, but it's not, more like what they call "love hotel" in some parts of the world, but it's very quiet, even the rooms giving on the street which it's really not busy...
so recommended if you're on a budget trip!
