Guest Reviews
- DENIS (6/5): - DECENT BUT NO PHONE IN THE ROOM. BREAKFAST WAS ALRIGHT BUT WE HAD TO ASK FOR SOME ITEMS AS THEY WERE EMPTY.
- Jackson (2/5): - My son stayed here last weekend. The reviews looked decent enough and it was a close, inexpensive option for him. The bathtub had obviously not been cleaned for what looked like weeks. Unacceptable.
- Chris (10/5): - Moved to ground floor because I had crutchhes
- Stewart (10/5): - Nice easy comfy stay
- Randy (6/5): - Clean room. Nice check-in. Noisy neighbourhood at night, unfortunately to start with, but did quiet down.
The price of the room is excellent. Fridge and microwave worked well.
- Marcia (6/5): Room was fine but outside, not so much - The motel is older but rooms have been updated and are clean and comfortable.
The only negative from my stay came from the chairs placed on the second floor balcony. First was the group of men who sat on the balcony outside my room and talked rather loudly until nearly midnight. Then, in the morning opening the door to leave, walking into a cloud of cigarette smoke as women sat smoking on the balcony. ☹️ Rooms are non-smoking, and didn't smell of smoke.
My suggestion would be to leave longer term occupants on the second floor with their chairs, and leave short term travellers in peace in the ground level rooms.
- Samantha (8/5): - Overall Impression
The owner was fabulous and very reasonable with our requests, which made the stay smoother. That said, the motel itself is very outdated and could use some serious improvements in cleanliness and upkeep.
Room & Cleanliness
The rooms were functional but not exactly clean — behind the bathroom door was especially grimy, and the towel rod was crookedly attached to the wall. The sheets were stained (with blood, unfortunately, and not mine), which was very off-putting. Furniture was mismatched, though having a table and chairs was convenient.
Amenities
Some things weren’t set up properly on arrival: the microwave wasn’t plugged in, and the air conditioner also had to be plugged in — once running, it was extremely loud, like pots and pans clanging together. The TV channel selection was poor, so we ended up streaming on my phone instead.
Atmosphere
It seemed like there were long-term tenants on the property who smoked heavily. Even though I was in a non-smoking room, it smelled as if they were smoking right next to me, which was unpleasant and my biggest complaint.
Value & Purpose
This is not a place I’d recommend for a special occasion or event. However, if you just need a spot to sleep while attending something else daily, it works. I tried to think of it like staying at an elderly relative’s house — not fancy, a bit rough around the edges, but serviceable.
Would I Stay Again?
Yes, I would stay again, mainly because of the helpful owner and the convenience.
- Kathleen (4/5): - The bed was comfortable and clean. The room was definitely in need of some TLC! Our biggest issue was that the people upstairs were literally rearranging furniture at midnight! Called the front desk and was told he would go and talk to them. It did finally get quieter but didn’t completely stop🙁
- Rob (10/5): - Checked all the boxes for a great stay
- Karen (8/5): Clean, Older Motel - Older motel showing some wear but mostly well kept. Very clean. It was hot outside and, I found the AC didn't cool the room much. One of the 2 beds was very comfortable, the other was old and not comfortable. Breakfast is toast, bagel, yogurt. Not much else. Apparently a few muffins if you get there at 8 am when the door opens. The check in was efficient and pleasant. There is a small grassy area fenced on 3 sides where you can take your dog.
- Debbie (2/5): - The room/walls were very dirty. Bathtub was horrible. No phone in the room or hairdryer. Definitely needs alot of work. Would not stay there again.
- Tamara (6/5): - The staff was friendly, check in and out were very quickly done
- Tracy (8/5): - I would stay here again. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.
Issues; there was a moldy coffee filter in the coffee machine, paint coming off the wall in the bathroom and the breakfast is the smallest I've ever seen (space and options).
- Oluwaseyi (8/5): - Good for a stop by stay
- Trevor (4/5): - The room was ok but old and worn. The bed was awful, old and worn out
- Barbara (8/5): - Na
- Yuliia (8/5): - Fair value for the price. The place is a bit old and could use some updates, and cleanliness could be better, but overall you get what you pay for
- Payne (10/5): Olds hockey camp - Nice place , kept clean and good service at front desk
- Thomas (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable and cozy. Highly recommend staying here.
- marjorie (6/5): - Well Siesta is a nice little motel. If you're going to just sleep and be out and about its great. The surrounding area has a lot to offer. Bed was comfy, need an upgrade on the pillows, a little too flat for me.
We brought food for this trip and the fridge and microwave was great to have.
We had a hard time figuring out the air conditioner. So we opened our door for fresh air. Shirley at the frint sesknis wonderful and so helpful.
We were yhere for tournament at Olds golf club. I would stay there again!
- DARREL (4/5): - First room smelt bad! Second room little better after free breeze sprayed. Fridge make loud whistle sound. Replaced very quickly with new one. Bed was very worn out.
- Florence (6/5): - Location was good, bed was comfortable, water was hot, good wi-fi, and we felt the room was safe and secure.
Lack of outlets and not all worked, bathroom door did not close, fridge was noisy, paint was peeling, one chair was broken, lighting was poor, and breakfast was very limited.
- Andreas (6/5): - Would stay here again!
- Carol (8/5): - Affordable, quiet and near the venue I was in town for.
- Rachel (2/5): - The bed was tipsy so you could not move very much. Dirty ash tray cans outside of each rooms. Just overall disappoint.
- Jerome (8/5): - Older motel, good value for dollar
- Shayla (2/5): - The property is super sketchy, the bathroom is disgusting ( mold all over bathroom wall) the heat resister is broken, the fridge sounds like it’s about to blow up, the floor is disgusting, they gave you 2 tiny almost not existent pillows.
- Douglas (4/5): I requested a room with 2 queen beds and a adjoin - I requested a room with 2 queen beds and a adjoining room for my son, did not receive either washroom was horrible condiments were not usable, complimentary breakfast was deplorable the rate was par with the Ramada which was much nicer
- Chantal (4/5): - Positive : bed was comfortable, I liked that there was a lot of channel option, the breakfast was ok, bread, cereal, muffins, juice and milk. Negative: I could hear the person snore next door so imagine... the bathtub is in such a bad condition its hard to tell if it was clean or not, I found a few hair, the floor was so dirty I wonder when it was cleaned last. On the description it says laundry room but not for customers use, the office said I could ask the maid to do my laundry but im not comfortable with people doing my laundry. Thats just me but it should say on the description. I wont go back
- Verified traveler (6/5): Typical Small Town Motel - This is a typical small town motel. No frills. Bit outdated, needs a lot of attention. Room was okay. Included a hot plate, fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Seems to be a place where people also rent by the month. Would we stay again? Yes, as it's one of only 3 motels in town. Walking distance to a few restaurants.
- Katherine (6/5): - It was convenient but noisy and limited breakfast and parking space
- Curtis (8/5): - We got what we paid for. Its not a 5 star motel
- Clinton (8/5): - We felt this room was good value for what we paid. The room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the continental
breakfast. The breakfast room was a bit small with only one table for 4. For the breakfast time from 8 to 9 it should include travellers only. The room was smoke free which is very important for my asthma. The staff were great.
Thanks C+B
- Thomas (10/5): - For the price, it was an excellent place to stay. Clean! Comfortable! Quiet! When staying a night or two, you don’t need all the extras that higher priced hotels offer. Cleanliness and comfort are the two non-negotiables and this place had them. Already booked our next stay.
- Sherry (4/5): - The bathroom was very delapidated and really needs to be updated. Also, the strong odor of febreeze was terrible.
- LeAnne (8/5): - My overall stay was good.
- Tracy (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Great prices on spacious rooms and staff were very accommodating.
- Stena (10/5): - This is older motel, but it’s super clean. It’s been remodelled and great beds. Great place to spend a night.
- Jacqueline (6/5): Breakfast not for healthy eaters - They checked us onto a room with no AC and both beds were not great, very creaky! Someone came to look at the AC and told us that the next day they would fix it or move us to a new room, when the owner would be there. The next morning the owner asked us if we could wait one more day, we said no. We wanted to be moved as it was hot outside. He moved us to a with working AC and a much more comfortable bed.
The breakfast is pathetic! Nothing healthy to eat, only sugary cereals and breads. We ended going to the grocery store and buying our own breakfast and went to Smitty's right across the street. Other than the breakfast and the experience with the first room, it was fine. The price is reasonable.
- Robert (8/5): - It was clean and quiet, but certainly not fancy or modern. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well enough. The price was very low so my expectations were not high but this place is just fine for a place to sleep...
- dennis (10/5): - Owner was helpful, room was clean, staff was good
- Kim (10/5): - It was older but clean and the bed was very comfortable
- David (6/5): - Cheap overnight accommodation that takes pets.
- Michel (8/5): Good place and resonnable - Arrived checked in , room was bigger than expected and clean. I believe it was redone hotel, paint looked new and very clean.
- Crystal (2/5): - Bathroom was dirty and falling apart in places
- Randy (10/5): - The motel is dated, however, it was very clean. Also, the beds are very comfortable.
- JUDY (2/5): - Bedding hadn’t been changed and was dirty. Counters were dirty from previous guests. Won’t stay there again. We were given 50% off of price but had to ask for a discount.
- Mike (10/5): - Staff very responsive to our complaint about the folks above us making noise all night with their dog
- Megan (6/5): - It was ok. Room was clean but older. Beds were not comfortable.
- Malaina (2/5): - These motel rooms are soo run down and old and dated. But was super soft and squeeky and pillows hard. Laminate flooring had patches in it and only went up to the bed frame. Underneath the bed was just the subfloor and then old carpet. Both room is old and grungy, lights and countertops are old as well. Room was dark and not well lit. Thank goodness it wasn’t hot out because if we would have needed the AC it was a really old, discoloured AC unit that we would have had to plug in. I walked around in flip flops as I didn’t want my bare feet on the floor. We never had breakfast because of the lack of cleanliness of the entire complex. Was extremely disappointed with the difference between photos on Expedia and website and reality. Glad we were only staying for 7 hours. Won’t be back and definitely won’t recommend. Even our cab driver was like oh ya. Definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone.
- Kim (6/5): - Pros-Priced right. Friendly staff. Plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Large fridge.
Cons-Dated rooms all need major upgrades. Noisy adjacent rooms. Small tv.
- Megan (8/5): - The photos online seemed homey and cute. So we were staying for just one quick night, the check in was quick and the hotel manager (I assume) was very nice. It is affordable however it is dated, there are a few rooms that are rented what looks like long term use? Bed was not comfortable, the too. Was relatively clean but the fridge was not working and had a damp towel in the freezer and there was some sort of growing organism in the back corner. It's a good option if you are looking for something affordable, pet friendly and simple.
- Jaelynn (8/5): - It was a good stay. The beds were a bit firm for my liking, and the shower in the bathroom looks like it may need an update. But over all the room was clean, check in and check out was very easy and staff were very helpful and friendly.
- Roxanne (6/5): - Main part of room was good but the bathroom tub area was not.
I understand old but when wet the stuff scratched off.
New silicone job is also needed.
- Bonnie (6/5): - Nice quiet motel, however, it would be nice if it was updated and cleaned up a bit. Having a screen on bottom of window isnt safe, new shampoo, dish soap and dish scrubber should be new for each guest, not used ones. I had to buy air freshner becaise the room smelled of smoke and marijuana.
Breakfast i feel should be earlier for those that need to be elsewhere by 8am. Air conditioner should be cleaned and surrounding top of shelves should be cleaned as well. Its difficult to work around 2 sinks in kitchenette area.
- Vivian (6/5): - It was very run down, but was quiet at night
- Ryan (4/5): - Room was old, hole in bathroom door, and the loudest air conditioner imaginable. It was as so loud you couldn’t have a conversation. There was a domestic disturbance at 2am with screaming and people slamming doors and what sounded like throwing furniture around. The room wasn’t clean. The shower had a large brown buildup and the floor of the room I had was gritty with dirt. I won’t be staying there ever again.
- Dave (4/5): - Carpets were filthy and needed vacuuming, all of the lamp shades were broken and falling off, there was mouse droppings in the tub, and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
- Heather (4/5): - It was extremely dated. It was quite dirty too.
- Sherry (8/5): - One bed was alittle hard other than than was good price was reasonable
- Lisa (2/5): - Called ahead and asked for a ground floor room as I have mobility issues. When I arrived to check in I was told there was no note of this on my reservation and all the ground floor rooms were occupied, so had to do stairs all weekend with difficulty and aggravated my injured leg. Room was not very clean, random hair and grime in corners and in tub. AC unit was very loud and mounted so high that I could only plug it in and have it run constantly as I was unable to adjust it, and room was extremely warm with a sketchy window that I did not feel comfortable leaving open.
- Heather (2/5): - I was extremely disappointed. Room was in very poor condition: towel bar broken, light fixture missing, chairs were lawn chairs, fridge was unplugged,
remote didn't work, TV screen had something sprayed on it & dried,
bedding was stained with what looked like blood, sink not clean. The breakfast was very limited; nothing hot except the coffee and had a toaster.
- Jennifer (8/5): Good value - Clean comfortable room with all the basic necessities. Rooms are dated but the price is great value. Good place to stay with our dog. There is a partially fenced in grass area in the back.
- Leo (6/5): - Bathroom door and wall in need of repair s and paint. Ventilation poor bathroom fan needs replacement. Convenient location location
- Tanya (4/5): - You get what you pay for- dirty walls, food in fridge, dirty bathroom.
- Shawn (4/5): - Room had that “old” smell to it. TV didn’t work, air conditioner didn’t work, no fan and a small window for air circulation.
- Jaylynne (4/5): - Room was dirty, and dark. Showers water temperature taps were messed up, they didn’t work to well it was either ice cold or burning hot. Room had garbage from previous guest in it.
- peter (8/5): - The motel is conveniently located near the center of Olds. The rooms were pretty good, and clean but not excellent It came with a small microwave and small fridge. The TV would have been better if it was a bit bigger . The beds were comfortable .overall I would rate it 31/2out of 5
- Robert (8/5): - It was clean, quiet, and very affordable. The bed was good. Outside the snow and ice removal was less than ideal so for someone with impaired mobility this would not be a good wintertime choice but I will definitely stay there again.
- Aliya (10/5): - The room I was originally in didn’t fully meet my needs, as soon as I mentioned this to the owners they moved me to a room that was perfect for what I was looking for. The staff are amazing and the motel is very well kept.
- Jocelynne (10/5): - Pleasant and helpful staff. We had trouble with and the lock on the door. Man came right away and figured it out. Tv was unplugged from a box. WD on the door and it worked quite well after.
Room is clean. Beds are comfortable. Laminate floor. No dirty rugs:)
Its quite cold and able to plug my car in. I'm happy. Will book again.
- mike (8/5): - The price was good property was good for a motel
- Catherine (2/5): - First time in Olds for an appointment and I wish I would’ve spent the extra few bucks on any other place! The only pet friendly room they had was under the stairs in a corner of the building so traffic up and down kept us awake all night. The pillows smelled like they hadn’t been washed! The floors were gritty and the soap bottles were refilled and wrote on with marker. The door lock barely turned with key. The office smelled like cigarettes and even though I complained to the staff about the conditions, all I got was a smile. I’m not one to usually complain, but this was, without a doubt, the worst motel I have ever stayed at in 58 years! Don’t do it!
- Angela (10/5): Great value - We had to bring our dogs on vacation so needed a pet friendly place to stay. Bed was super comfy. Only thing missing was a hair dryer.
- Lloyd (10/5): - It was very well maintained
- Daniel (8/5): - Easy access, friendly staff
- Saskia (10/5): - Extremely nice, friendly and helpful staff.
- tyson (6/5): - When we checked in the frying pan was dirty and molded and there was cobwebs all over the walls
- Stephanie (8/5): - My room was clean and good value on Expedia . This is a good place if you just need a place to sleep. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. No hair dryer. Front desk very friendly. Mexican burrito place, Smittys and Subway across the street. 2 minute drive or 10 min walk to Olds Sportsplex Arena.
- Leanne (8/5): - Clean and no complaints. The room i booked had a kitchenette. Nice to have the extra room. Pet friendly with a good potty area for the dogs. Will stay there again.
- Naomi (6/5): - It was fine
- Keaton (10/5): - Great Price and location
- Elva (8/5): - The staff was very accommodating. Anything I requested was quickly done for me.
- Logan (8/5): - This is a nice place to stay for affordable accommadations , I was visiting family near by and it was just what we needed . I will stay here again
- Alicia (10/5): Economic, Clean and Easy. - It’s was a very economic decision to stay here on the eve of a surgery. Check-in was extremely easy and unlike some properties did not force a credit card for payment. The person we checked in with was pleasant and personable. The room was clean. check out again was super fast and easy. I would definitely recommend for a great economic stay.
- Carola (6/5): - I love the bed and the pillows
- brandy (8/5): - Rooms are Always clean and friendly staff
- Marianne (8/5): - Great customer service, location is convenient but is noisy being right off the main drag.
- Scott (10/5): - Owner/Manager helpful with non working cable box late at night
- Carla (8/5): - Very friendly people beautiful staff
- Gail (6/5): - the a/c is tucked up high and hard to reach
- Eden (8/5): - The motel is old but the beds, rooms and bathrooms are clean. For the price, it was a good choice and we would stay there again.
It is within walking distance to a Smitty’s - the food was excellent - 2 liquor stores, a Mexican restaurant and Subway.
- George (8/5): - The owner has done what they can with the property and I commend them on doing a good job. The only reason I only gave 4 stars is the facility is older but it is priced well for the amenities.
- Caroline (6/5): - Old motor inn, you get what you pay for, quiet but no air conditioning.
- Matthew (6/5): - Price was fair. Bed was ok. Walls and floor were not clean but the sheets and towels were cleaned. The staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was lacking quantity.
- Josephine (10/5): - Did not like lack of hair dryer and plug in for curling iron.
- Pat (10/5): - easy access to main road through Olds
- Kayla (8/5): - Nice rooms. Great price. All the staff was fantatic!!
- John and Kathy (6/5): - Good fridge, microwave and small table.
- Trevor (2/5): - Very budget stay, room was hot, room had 1970's AC unit that didn't really do anything but make noise. No hot water at all. Room was 3/4 updated.
