Guest Reviews
- N3009LQdianner (2/5): Disgusting and unsafe, just don't book here - Just don't ever book here. $168 for the night. Dirty and dangerous. No heating. Bed sheets not clean. Bathroom disgusting. Door would not lock. No shower screen. Broken toliet bowl and peeling seat. Exhaust fan caked in dust. Bathroom floor sticky and dirty. Mirror cracked from top to bottom with toothpaste splaters. Walls fiflthy. Door had a huge open gap. No blanket and heating not working. Contacted management who have not responded. Truly the most appalling waste of money.
- robmN5734HT (10/5): Dubbo - A very well located hotel with very friendly staff and great accommodation. The bed was very comfortable with a good sized bathroom. Only a short walk to the historic Dubbo Gaol and quite close to the train station. I was there on a Thursday night and the live entertainment was quite good and the pool competition quite competitive.
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Christie (3/5): Poor - Close enough to where we went out No soap in bathroom not even to wash hands
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Careena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanette (1/5): Bad - Friendly people The music was way too loud. Even on the second floor it kept me awake. I think it finished about 130am! There were insufficient plugs to boil water and keep the fridge running. Not enough easy access points for charging phones etc. The lighting in the room was appalling. I had to use my phone to read by! The air con didn't work and the blanket the nice staff member have me was inadequate. I had to sleep in my clothes to stay warm.

- billeew2017 (2/5): Disappointing stay in Dubbo - The hotel was very disappointing. I don’t mind old but this was dirty and ill equiped for a comfortable stay. Showers have no door water everywhere . No air ventilation. Pigeons everywhere on deck and around windows etc — smell and feathers when open door or windows.
Food very good and restaurant excellent. Bar staff friendly . Organisation lacking for desk services and very confusing.

- Tanya (10/5): The staff always go above and beyond no matter what the circumstances are it’s so convenient to only have to go upstairs - Everything The walk from car park to the pub it needs a back entrance through the car park
- Melanie (5/5): Right in Center of Town, Clean cheap accommodation. - Room was large and Clean, very close to everything right in town. Shower area broken and terrible lighting facilities in bathroom very dark

Id go back! Good price!!
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good - Was basic Aussie hotel; chilled comfort. Food was good, rooms comfortable Inability to take stairs between floors
- Secombe (8/5): Great! Loved it! - Excellent position and great air con. Terrible terrible pillows!
And there are no hooks to hang anything on in the bedroom, that would be handy.
- Laetitia (5/5): Wouldn’t stay here again - The location was Right in centre of town
Beds were clean and comfortable
Good air con Missing remote controls for tv
Broken doors in bathroom (air vent missing leaving gaping holes)
Bathroom Door didn’t close or lock (after we moved rooms)
No shower screens so bathroom
Got flooded after showering
The hotel rooms needs some serious TLC
- Geoff (7/5): Good - Convenient location No provision for loading/unloading luggage from car, such as a short term parking bay near the entrance.

- Tom (8/5): - Handy location the place is a bit old and in need of renovation but still clean and comfortable
- Discover15368185562 (2/5): faces mark on the bottom sheet - On a Wednesday night, I was okay with that. What I was not okay with was going to the room to put my bag in, it was a hot room, so I turned on the AC.
Well, I think I will look for a pillow no pillows at all ok I will tell the staff.
so then to make it nice I pulled the bed covers back and there was a faeces mark on the bottom sheet looking like someone sat on the bed and wipe themselves on the bed I got a sorry from the bar staff and she help me make the bed with a clean sheet and got me a pillow
PS This is going on Facebook
- Renee (9/5): Great for what we needed. - The staff were so amazing and helpful. Great location. It was a basic pub room. Everything you expect.
- Rebekah (5/5): Passable - Central location, friendly helpful staff, comfortable large bed. Elevator to higher floors. Very strong smell of cigarette smoke in downstairs areas, bar and bistro. The first room we were allocated was very smelly, damp and food smells, but we asked for a different room and that one was fine.
- Roslyn (8/5): Price perfect and location spot on -
- Barry (10/5): just great - all went well all was ok
- Khatri (1/5): I didn’t stay this hotel. I booked from ta booming.com. But they said hotel is already packed and we will refund your mo - I didn’t stay this hotel. I booked from ta booming.com. But they said hotel is already packed and we will refund your money. But they never refund me back my money. Its too much. I am really said about this. - Colin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Murphy (7/5): Good -
- Marg (8/5): Very good -
- Todd (5/5): Passable -
- Warren (8/5): Very good - Location There was no shower screen in the bathroom, water splashed on the toilet and on the floor outside of the shower
- Laurel (4/5): The taps were hard to turn off. My key would not open then door. - Location Off street parking too far away from the entrance to the property.
- Trevor (8/5): - Checked in for one nights stay and advised it was schnitty special night.
Dislike - Being woken at 5.30am by building construction workers on the building works across the road.
- Andrew (9/5): Very convenient, comfortable - Location Location
- Whalan (4/5): Won't be stopping again - bed was good Room and corridors smelt of a strong cigarette smell. The ensuite needs a serious renervation.
- Ethel (5/5): Passable -
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (5/5): Needs a revamp - Central part of town Pigeon poo all over the place
- Melinda (7/5): Serviceable and clean. - Very serviceable cheap accommodation if you just need to shower and sleep. Good parking. Bit noisy at night but to be expected because of location. Could have had warmer bedding instead of heating the room.
- College (3/5): Poor -
- Ashoolka (2/5): Dubbo Nightmare - The pub is in a good central location although noisy but you would expect that in a country town, lots of people walking around the streets at night time, there’s a back carpark for you to put your car but it’s down the road and didn’t get locked up overnight so I parked out on the Main Street instead as we had roof racks with gear. The room has a handy little fridge and the TV worked fine. There was huge water damage and mould on the ceiling. The window wouldn’t open but maybe because there was no fly or security/safety screening but the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the shower steam was so intense it filled up the whole room and we had to keep our door open to the hallway. The manhole was open which was creepy but I think intentional maybe to try and mitigate the shower steam? Not sure but it didn’t help and the mould smell was worse that came from the ceiling cavity behind the hole. Plus the air con remote didn’t work so we could turn it on manually at the wall to get some form of airflow as we were worried about the mould, but we couldn’t adjust the settings and it was a 4 degree night and we had to sleep with cold air conditioner fan on, and they don’t give you any blankets or doonas just a sheet on the bed over the fitted sheet so we slept with all of our clothes on. We had a late check in so there was no way to resolve it with management, and we had to leave early the next morning to get back to Lismore so we couldn’t hang around for staff the following day. I spend a lot of time at cheap accomodation around Bourke and Moree so I am country hardened and not an overly sensitive person, and I can still say it was a pretty brutal setup at old Amaroo pub. We wouldn’t go back.
- Magboo (7/5): Good -
- White (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (2/5): - Way over priced. Rooms very dirty with stains on carpet, cracks in the walls, mould in the bathroom, and bathroom handle broken.
- Bradbury (1/5): Bad - Only the shower and bed Room wasn't clean rubbish bins full dirty Towels left on the floor soaking wet toilet was Dirty not flushed or cleaned food was shit
- Vanessa (8/5): Good stop over, will recommend to others - Location, good staff, good food,,elevator to room because we had a few bags to carry We had the king room, was great but needs a bigger fridge , also the sink plumbing is blocked
- D8172DZdalew (6/5): Terrible - The room is definetly requires a make over. Carpet was stained the room and hall ways stunk of cigarette smell. The shower had no sliding door the glass side pieces swung in the breeze and the tiles were brocken. This room wouldnt make a 1 star rating.
Would i recommend the place no way.
- Michelle (10/5): - Cheap Convenient everything is in walking distance
- annebO8149IX (6/5): Noisy room - The room was neat and clean, with amenities as expected for the price. The main concern was the noise: I knew there was a nightclub in the building but I thought with offering rooms that there would be better sound proofing, plus we stayed on a Thursday night so I didn't think there would be such loud music till 2am. If you're looking for a party, great. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, this is not the place.
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Murray (8/5): Very good -
- Rosalie (3/5): Would not come again - There is a lift Very old and not touched paint peeling off walls
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Deahm (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hm (1/5): Couldn’t be any worse - Nothing It stunk of bleach
- June (8/5): All in all I would stay again - I really liked the location and the lift for ease of getting luggage and work stuff to room.
Having the bistro down stairs was a bonus didn't have to worry about going elsewhere to eat. The room was dated but that is OK, however the carpet was extremely worn and the curtains were dirty.
I did not feel comfortable having to park in the back unsecured carpark and walk up the side street to the front of the of the premises to enter, very uncomfortable when a lot of people hanging around.
- alan (8/5): - Clean
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Bergman (7/5): Value for money - Central location. Convenient lift. Downstairs bistro with good food.
Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The dark dinginess of the room
- Stacey (6/5): - There wasn't enough pillows in the room only get 1 pillow 1 bed and wasn't enough blankets , as it was cold this morning and I woke up freezing air never really worked that good
- Tom (8/5): - Very convenient place to stay
