Guest Reviews
- tylorl411 (10/5): Perfect for overnight stay - Older hotel. But don’t let that fool you. Great rate, great location, a fantastic price.
Rooms are clean and oversized! Perfect for short term or long-term stay
- Randy (2/5): - The most rundown inn we have ever stayed in. Rooms smelled of mold/musty, doors have visible cracks and would be so easy to get open if someone was trying to break in. The hotel and property is so run down! It needs some serious remodeling and landscaping done. Have no idea how they are staying in business! Had no choice but to stay for the night. Worst nights sleep ever! Stay clear of this inn!!
- Kerry (6/5): - It was ok
- Dan (4/5): Poor , old property! - Never again will I stay at such a poor hotel!!!
- Roland (6/5): - Quite place! Just old! Staff very friendly!
- Vicki (8/5): - Rooms are dated but roomy and clean. Staff friendly. Price good for what it was
- Robert (8/5): - Old, but clean. In need of updating. Office cluttered, hot, & no Continental brealfasr as advertised. No ice machine or vending area, had to go to office to get ice. Very reasonable rates. Very friendly staff & helpful.
- Holly (10/5): Clean, friendly & roomy - The staff is friendly. The hotel is clean and has large rooms. It is outdated but it's clear they are working on updating the rooms. There is no continental breakfast (which we knew from staying here on another trip) and the staff lets you know of the on-line error.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs work - One of the vertical blinds was missing. No way to close them fully. No privacy, no way to darken room from sun.
- Candy (4/5): - Not as pictures show
- Kathrine (4/5): Meh - Old facility. Very large room, clean but shabby. Don’t care about decor but the beds were rock hard so don’t expect comfort. No coffee. Staff friendly. Can go get coffee but the bed thing was a no for me.
- Daniel (6/5): Cheap and clean. - The room was clean, comfortable and probably built back when Reagan was Governor of California. I won't complain about the dated decor because I was looking for a cheap clean place to stay. It met those requirements.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - Owner saved our reservation even thought we were late getting there due to road detours. He was very kind and understanding.
- Shanna (10/5): - The property is close to my daughter and the staff are very friendly. It’s nice and quiet.
- Suzanne (4/5): - Very sketchy place and there wasn't many amenities.
- Robin (10/5): - Beds price
- Christopher (8/5): - Very quiet place, comfortable and spacious area. The outlets could be updated to three prong to accommodate some of today's technology, (EX: Laptops)
- Stephen (6/5): - A little overpriced for what it is. Seems very run down. But, on a good note, it was pretty clean. Clean linens and towels. Had some flies we had to take out before we could get to sleep.
Overall it was more like a $30-$40 a night motel. In today’s world, maybe a $70-$80 a night motel. You get what you pay for. Next time I’ll probably spend a few more dollars and stay down the road.
- Christopher (6/5): - I stayed there for 2 days and the wifi never worked. Unfortunately I got back to my room fairly late - after 11PM - and there is no staff available after 11PM - so there was no one I could ask about it either. So, if you are depending on wifi, don't stay here
- Johnny (6/5): - Nothing unique, ice machine in a very inconvenient spot, could not find it.
- Robin (10/5): - Rooms were clean. Rooms very spacious. Beds are really comfortable. Got help from lady at desk. She came right away. Would go there again
- Typhanie (2/5): - I would not stay here
- Kevin (10/5): - Convenient location with spacious rooms. Easy to park right in front of my door
- Michael (10/5): - Quite
- Thomas (6/5): - I liked the price and that was really the driving force for a hotel that accepts small dogs.
- Teresa (6/5): - The room was comfortable enough, but the first one we got had no internet available. The person allowed us to change rooms for our second night to one that had more solid internet service. Well, at least it had some, but the service dropped in and out. Also, half of the space in the freezer of the second room's refrigerator was filled with a frost build-up.
- James (4/5): The rooms are cheaper for a reason - Had to wait over 10 minutes to check in due to no one in the building. I ran the bell and called the front desk numerous times, finally the worker came in from outside carrying shopping bags.
The room had beer caps and crumbs of food behind the nightstand, the refrigerator either was not turned on or was not plugged in- i didnt bother looking becasue by the time it would of cooled down my drinks would of been warm. The freezer part was defrosted so there was water all in the top.
The beds are soo uncomfortable.
The smoke detector was in a drawer along with some plastic bags that were not thrown away from the previous people.
The room and bathroom area are spacious even though they are outdated.
There was a dog in the next room, but we never heard it or the people on either side of us.
This is the 2nd and last time I will stay here.
- Douglas (2/5): Worst Motel Ever - This is probably the worst motel I've ever stayed in. The plumbing was in terrible shape - the faucet on the sink was so loose I was afraid it would fall of, the toilet was sitting on a piece of plywood, and the tub didn't drain properly. In addition, many electrical outlets didn't work, the facial tissues container was empty, the curtains didn't close completely (this was a 1st floor room, so it mattered). Finally, the website advertised breakfast (falsely), which is one reason I chose this motel, but there was no breakfast.
- Stephanie (4/5): - Front desk staff was nice but booking said that they have a continental breakfast and they do not. Rooms could use a deep clean and had a bit of a smell. We arrived in the evening when it was dark already and there was a large group of men partying outside their rooms a few doors away from us. We did not feel safe walking to our room because of this. Not worth the money you save staying here versus a nicer hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place should be closed down. The pet dander was over whelming. Very unhealthy. This place needs to be completely renovated.
- Bryce (6/5): - Definitely an old, outdated motel. Mostly clean, sheets had a few faded stains, bath tub had rust stains by the drain. Tile above the bath tub had dark grout that could be moldy and the shower curtains were old and a little mildewy. The outlets by the lamps didnt work so had to charge phones on the floor, but they at least worked. We stayed here because we couldn't find anywhere else on parents weekend. The checkin went smoothly and the front desk person was very friendly. While motels are typically expected to be no frills, perhaps updating the bathroom to get rid of blue tub and blue toilet. Also the mattresses were quite hard and uncomfortable.
- stephensQ3093FB (6/5): Great for day before College Dorm Move in day - Clean older motel with HUGE Rooms perfect for coming up a day early to move teen in for college the next day. This way stuff doesn't get stolen from car overnight and you don't have to haul a ton of stuff down a hallway or elevator since door faces parking lot spaces. New tub, toilet, sink, walls freshly painted, carpet clean. Mini fridge big, clean and cold. Wooden furniture is worn with Knicks etc but hey 50% cheaper than next door hotel. Beds are Firm (also have mattress covers on them under the sheets which is nice). No breakfast (54 Diner like 4 min away is good for that). Takes awhile for little newer air conditioning to get room cool but OK in couple hours.
- Carol (8/5): - We had a good stay. Clean, quiet, no weird smells. I just wish they served breakfast like Expedia said they did.
- Jacolyn (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay with our dog. The lawns are beautiful as well as the views. And there is a nice dog park across the street. Room was large and comfortable.
- Jan (10/5): Great value! - Room was surprisingly spacious! I travel for business and it was perfect for my needs (I don't need a pool or breakfast, just a clean, comfortable room with room to work). My only complaint was that the desk was sticky. Fortunately there was a table and sitting area where I was able to do my paperwork.
- Scott (10/5): - Great place to stay. Wonderful family running the motel. This is my second stay within two months. Would come back for sure. Large room. Old, yes, but there are benefits with that. Love having my car right outside of my room vs having to use cruddy motel elevators and hallways. Super quiet as there is no one above or below you.
- Linda (6/5): - The room was much bigger than most. It was clean, but bathroom & fixtures needed repair. Quite clean & good value for short stay.
- Scott (10/5): - Hidden gem. Great family running the property. Large clean room. Would definitely stay here again.
- John (8/5): - Overall the unit was extremely clean. Everything was perfectly and its place with detail. No complaints except the age of the bathroom is showing but yet it was functional and extremely clean. Very good experience overall
- Michael (4/5): - The property was clean and it was quiet. I interacted with staff at check-in but that was the only contact I had with anyone. There were a number of electrical outlets that didn't work in the room and lights that initially worked eventually didn't. There was a sign in the bathroom "Outlets are not grounded". Not sure if this property meets electrical code for occupancy. The price was right but because it was graduation weekend at the local university, rooms were at a premium.
- Maria (8/5): - Clean but aged
- Amy (4/5): - The cable did not work and the internet would not work the ice bucket was nasty had not been cleaned there was dirt and hair in it
- Barbara (6/5): - Very old, needs repair.
Staff was friendly.
- David K (8/5): Much improved from before. - I stayed in this motel a few years ago. It has really improved since then, so much so that I can definitely recommend it now to people who want value and simplicity, without any frills. I hope that the property can continue to improve. The room I had was fully renovated, and everything was clear and comfortable. The exterior still needs lots of work, and there is a very pleasant outdoor area that has potential.
- Amber (4/5): Poor - They had construction of some kind going on at 3am which kept me awake. The water never got warm and the beds where not very comfortable
- Jasmynn (8/5): - Surprisingly cozy for a motel. The fridge is a great size, the tv is nice, and the Wi-Fi is a decent speed, buuut the bathrooms could use a bit of an update but I think this place is great.
- Shawntel (10/5): - I was a little skeptical because it is an older motel, and we had a bad experience with our last motel stay at a different motel. But the insides of the room were very clean. All of the linens were clean nothing was damaged or worn out or torn up, it was a very comfortable stay with a very budget friendly rate.
- Roy (6/5): Inn - Older inn could use updating. Heat system dad
- Karen (2/5): - They have no actual handicap accessible rooms even though they will sell you one.
- martha (10/5): - Property is great it has ample parking. Rooms are huge. A little outdated but worth every penny
- Philip (4/5): Very old and not well maintained. - Very old and not well maintained.
- STUART (4/5): - This is an older property. Temperature in room was not adjustable. Bathrooms were not ADA compliant. Walls were water damaged by the AC. The AC unit filter was dirty, the vents had mold.
- LeAnna (10/5): Good Budget Hotel - The Knights Inn was very clean and the gentleman at the front was very nice! The beds, however, are incredibly uncomfortable. It’s still a good deal overall.
- Samantha (8/5): - It's was quiet.
- Arnold (4/5): Not a recommended hotel - Opened the door to a musty/mildew odor, which never improved. The outlets in the room were not grounded and my laptop has a grounded plug. You have to walk all the around the building to get to the ice machine
- Bradford (8/5): - Decent value but this room needed maintenance to the AC and power outlets
- Billie (8/5): - Rooms were large, beds were comfortable. The grounds are huge, must have been quite the place in its heyday. It was very quiet, had a huge area where my grandson was able to run around in without worry of cars or people.
- Mark (10/5): - Check in was fast, friendly, and efficient. This is definitely an older, bare bones motel, and looks it from the outside, but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything in my room worked properly. If you're just looking for a basic room for the night at a very reasonable price, I would not hesitate to recommend this place.
- shawn (10/5): - So this is not a newer property but everytime i need to stay in Kirksville i choose the Knights Inn. They are always clean and friendly.
- SHERRY (10/5): - Room was big. Only downfall was the low water pressure in shower.
- Tanyua (8/5): Nice stay - Some issues but the front desk clerk took care of them right away. The room was huge. Bed was comfortable.
- Marcie (8/5): Great Little Jewel - I've stayed at this Hotel many times over the years. It's an
older facility but has all the comforts of the more expensive Hotels. I like that all the rooms are on one level and you don't hear your neighbors when they come in at all hours of the night. The rooms are clean and it always smells nice.
- Bonnie (6/5): - The person checking me in was very nice. Older hotel, but clean. Noisy when heat comes on. Bed was not comfortable. For just under 80.00 ...you get what you pay for.
- Kari (8/5): - Good
- Justis (10/5): - Knights Inn is so clean and cute! I always stay here when I'm in town. Their prices are reasonable and I'm always happy with my stay!
- Kevin (10/5): - The cable did not work, though it wasn't a deal breaker. I enjoyed my talk with the owner, I assume. We talked about bonsais.
- Margaret (8/5): - No stairs to climb, and able to park directly outside the door.
- Bill (8/5): Fine - Was fine
- Nathan (10/5): - It was comfortable, clean, the room was surprisingly large
- Deanna (8/5): I do enjoy staying here - We love staying here because of being able to park right outside our door and not having to pack everything through the lobby. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi isn’t the best the farther you get from wherever the modem is and they never have enough bath towels in the rooms. Two bath towels for 3 adults just isn’t enough. I have could ask for more, but have found it’s just easier to pack my own. By the time I drive 5 hours, last thing I want to do is go back to the office to ask for more.
- Brandy (10/5): Good stay - Stayed here several times as they allow dogs but this time was a dog free trip. Room needs updated but besides that bed was comfy and room was clean. Nice touch of a couch in room for extra sitting area.
- Helen (8/5): A Nice, Quiet Hotel - I've stayed at Nights Inn for many years. I like the fact that there aren't people pounding the floor above me, talking and flushing the stool while I'm trying to sleep. It's an older Hotel, but, like older buildings, the walls aren't paper thin. The rooms are all on one level, have been updated with new beds, comforters, TV, Refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker and a nice comfortable sofa. The breakfast is continental with the usual options & coffee available all day.
- Jared (6/5): Ok - Stay was fine but even though it was non smoking my room smelt like an astray. Had to wash closes I did not wear. You get what you pay for.
- Beachluvinfamily (6/5): Properly needs a lot of work...repairs - Properly needs a lot of work...modernizing, repairs and maintenance. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Beds weren't very comfortable and the AC was noisy. The proty has potential but requires significant investment to bring on par with competitors. We cannot recommend. We would only stay here again in a pinch.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very clean, nice stay - Very clean. A bit dated, but very clean and comfortable.
- Mike and Mary (8/5): Great stay - We enjoyed our stay. The room was not bad.
- Larry W (8/5): - The bed was the most comfortable bed we have slept in. We have stayed in $200 a night hotels and not near as comfortable. This property is very dated but we'll maintained for it's age. Water pressure is lacking in the shower. Our TV quit working. I stopped at the front desk and let them know. It was fixed before we got back from dinner.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property is always very clean when we stay. It could use some updating but it is clean.
- Joseph (10/5): Clean - Older vintage hotel but very clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised.
- Leonard (8/5): Great room for the price. - Clean, well supplied, comfotable, pleasant location, very large rooms, couch, comfortable mattress, bedding is not worn out, refrigerator, microwave, pet friendly ($20), safe, everything works. The only drawback is electric outlets not grounded.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very well kept place, rooms are big, best deal in kirksville
- Verified traveler (8/5): - there was a backdoor to a backyard area, that was really cool. the heat/air unit was way up high, I had to stand on a chair to reach it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was fine. Expedia is terrible. I called Expedia 2weeks prior to my stay to change my reservation ( which Expedia said was allowed) was on the phone for 90 minutes before I was connected to a live person who stated she was unable to change my reservation due to motel not answering would have manager call me back within two hours no retuned phone call. Had to pay for two nights when we only stayed one night. Will never use Expedia again, and will tell everyone about my experience with Expedia!
- stephanie (4/5): - The shower was terrible! The light in the bathroom didn’t work. The bed was hard. The latch on the back door was broken. No continental breakfast
- Andrew (2/5): - They had bugs
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very large room. All on one floor. There was a place to sit outside if the weather was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - They allow pets for a small fee. It was ok for the price and it was quiet.
- Tracy (6/5): Pros and cons - Beds were a little hard. Room was very big. Had a hard time getting the hot water to work. And the heat didn’t work in the bathroom. But it was clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a clean and solid place. Very pleased with staff and location
- barbara (10/5): Best service ever - We were scheduled to stay 3 nights but we only needed two nights. the women at the desk went out of her way to make sure we only got charged for two. She said normally the customer has to do it cause of who we went through, but she called them for me. It really wasn't her job, but she did it any ways. I would stay there again and recommend them. The room was also cleaned when we got back.
- Jacob (8/5): - This day was very nice. The staff was very friendly and their rooms were accommodating. I like older hotels like this so this was a win for me. Some things I didn't like was I was not given a Wi-Fi password, nor was I given a number to call the front desk if I needed anything. I looked on the phone in the room and there was no extension for the front desk. other than that, it was a great stay and I would definitely stop back again.
- Jason (8/5): Good for old school. - Big rooms, clean. Old school motels can be a little run down. This hotel was one of the better one’s we’ve stayed at.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Need to put in about dog fee when checking in its not part of your price when booking online
- Verified traveler (4/5): - wifi was terrible and heat could not be adjusted in room. This place will be condemned within 2 years
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was very clean and well kept considering how old the it is. Rooms very clean and beds are very well made daily, was quite impressed.
Staff wasn't that friendly kept reminding me that no more than 2 guests are allowed which i had reassure them that it was just me and my girlfriend. Not sure if was racism or I looked like someone they had problems in the past, but check-in wasnt met with smiling faces. Room rates was very affordable and didnt have any problems with any of the other tenants. Nothing stolen during my 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay there, besides the awkward checkin.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ice storm. No salted or anything else on parking. It was "ice skating arena"
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The owners of this motel/hotel are great! It is truly a low budget hotel that is great for a quick stay (we were there for Graduation at Truman State), but the rooms are big and very clean. Beds are older, pillows are small/flat. But this is not a vacation spot, but a quick stop. We get in at 11 p.m. mostly and check out the next day. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not the one for you, but we've stayed here many times in 4 years for a single night and it is a great price and is a good place just to lay your head.
- Jay (8/5): - Parking was easy. They’re pretty clean. TV have enough channels to keep you occupied. Breakfast is pretty much nonexistent. They were juice/snacks from god-knows-how-long.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the spaciousness of our room . Having a dual air conditioner heater was nice to augment the heat in the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Heat didn't work. Room was cold
