Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I wasn't sure where to stay to visit the Dead Sea, and I did not want to stay at a resort. This place was amazing!!! It was quiet, COMFORTABLE, easy to find, and quality service. It was very quiet street with easy parking. I wish I was staying in the area longer because this was perfect. I stayed in many placed in Israel and this place was the best.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overpriced apartment in a convenient location - The apartment is comfortable enough, though not in the best condition. It is close to Masada, Dead Sea, Shivta etc. However, giving it a relatively low rating because I found the place to be very much overpriced for the quality
- Judith (4/5): - Very, very disappointed. No hot water, air conditioner did not work, shower is not big enough to turn around in, place was dirty, very sparsely furnished. No desert view, on a dirty ravine in the back. Only nice thing was the outside plants. Would never stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly hosts, nice space for resting at the end of the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - On sight parking. Avi was super helpful and kind.
- Helga (10/5): - Veldig hjelpsom vert.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is our best rental in Israel! The apartment is in perfect condition and perfectly located to visit all the most beautiful sites in the area: Dead Sea at Ein Bokek, Massada, Ein Gedi, Tel Arad Archaeological Site, etc. The apartments are clean and you have a small terrace, with a great quiet garden. The apartment is air conditioned and the wifi works. There are places to park the car right in front. Avi has been exceptionally kind, always concerned about our comfort. He gave us the best advice for visiting the area. He even helped us change the deflated tire of our car and called the car rental company! The price is very reasonable compared to other rentals in the area. We therefore highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.
Ruhige Lage in Arad.
- Xanthy (8/5): Good stay, helpful - Had a great stay at this hotel (we were there for one night). It was very nice. The owner is great and extremely helpful. He helped us plan out our trip the next day to Masada, gave us directions to the local supermarket, and helped clarify a few things about the area. We enjoyed our stay here. We didn’t get to see the hotel in the daytime but we think it probably has a cool view of the desert.
- Californians (10/5): - The is more like an Airbnb than a hotel -- which is good! it's in a quiet residential neighborhood. Parking is easy and free. The garden adds a touch of whimsy. Above all, the little suite was perfect for two parents and a grown daughter. She had a comfy bed in the commons room to sleep in so there was some privacy; we had the bedroom. There's a kitchen though just a hotplate, not a stove. The place is clean and Avi, the owner, is a warm, friendly host who offers advice about places to eat, etc. The price, if you're in a situation like ours where you need two rooms without wanting to pay for two separate hotel rooms, can't be beat for a simple but clean place with your own little patio. Arad is a really nice town and I wish we'd had more time to explore.
- Irene (8/5): - Stanza in buone condizioni. Stanza pulita e con il minimo indispensabile. Proprietario molto gentile. rimasti una sola notte. Vicinanza a Massada ottima.
- Joan (10/5): - It is more like an aparthotel. We stayed in a little house very comfortable in a quiet neighborhood. Property owner is very nice and friendly, he gave us his phone number for anything we need and recommended places to go that we did not know about.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner is a wonderfully friendly host. Our party number changed three hours before arrival and he was still able to accommodate us, without any interruption to our trip. Would one hundred percent recommend to anyone considering booking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to start visit Masada and local desert tour, owner helps in local guide, room clean, tourist map on requested, excelent food in nighbourhood
- David (6/5): - A cheap and good stopover place.
- Hana (10/5): Doporučuji - Pokoj byl velmi pěkný a čistý. Ochotný a milý majitel. Pekne okolí.
- Kris (10/5): - We had a great time in this lovely place with the kindest owner. It was clean and had everything we needed. From our base in Arad we made trips to nearby hotspots: the dead sea in Ein Bokek, Masada and an amazing hike in the Judean desert. Contrary to what everyone said, we could easily get around with public transport. The hospitality and freshly baked cakes made our stay one to remember.
- Simon (10/5): Cool, friendly and professional hotel - Say hi to Avi, the owner, enjoy the desert sunsets, visit Masada for sunrise, swim in the Dead Sea and get some drinks and food at the local bar he recommends!
The rooms are well appointed and it all has a genial vibe. 10/10 (-; !!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The price for this stay was so high compared to our stay in Israel.
- Gregg (8/5): Very clean location, owner friendly - The room was very nice. Owner on premises and helpful with local recommendations. The only issue we had was no hot water and AC kept shutting off at night (fuse kept tripping)
- Steve (8/5): Cozy and relaxed - A small but cozy apartment with a nice outdoor area to relax in.
- Kristopher (10/5): An amazing place near the Dead Sea - Avi’s place is truly amazing. My mother and I stayed here only one night in order to visit Masada and the Dead Sea the next day and regret that our stay was not longer. It’s about 45-60 minutes drive away from Masadas Snake Path, which we did for the sunrise hike, but is completely manageable if you came by car. The other places we searched in the region were outrageously expensive, and this place was a decent price for us so this place is definitely worth the stay. There is no front desk since the buildings are located on his property, so be sure to have a way to contact his phone. I set mine off roaming for just a few minutes to make the call but wasn’t a hassle at all. He gave us wonderful recommendations for places to eat, directions and activities we could do which made the visit that much better. If you’re staying in the area I highly recommend Desert View!
- Marc (8/5): Quiet retreat - Good base to see Masada, the Dead Sea, En Gedi, etc. Quiet area, kitchen (though not well equipped for real cooking), table to eat also in the garden.
- Josef (10/5): Great base to explore this area of Dead Sea - Very pleasant and friendly owner Avi, I liked his honesty and will never forget and have to return. Arad is a great place to discover area incl Dead Sea, Masada.. Apartment has all you need for happy stay and Avi the owner is kind to give advice /help. Shalom Avi.
- Børge (10/5): Lækkert sted.... Man får meget for pengene - Hjælpsom vært, rigtig godt værelse, hyggeligt område....
- Pontus (10/5): En natt i Arad - Kanon läge.
- David (10/5): Masada/Dead Sea Base Camp - Avi, your host, is very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are large, well appointed and clean. The neighborhood is very quiet and there is a great restaurant down the block.
The hotel is one half hour drive from the Dead Sea and a bit longer to Masada and EIn Gedi. Note that the road from the Dead Sea to the hotel is very winding through the mountains, which are beautiful, but the bat-s**t crazy Israeli drivers will tailgate you, no matter how fast you go. I had a 90-year old woman in a Hyundai with Coke-bottle glasses give me the finger as she passed me. Enjoy.
- Joe (10/5): - The hotel is in a very quiet part of town, so we had a very peaceful stay.
- Peter (6/5): Rustic Lodge in Arad - We arrived at the lodge to find out room cold, took a while to warm up. Beds need updating, good for students but not seasoned travelers. The owner who lives on the premises was very hospitable and even sent us discount coupons to Masada via WhatsApp. He did tell us about the only quality restaurant in town but failed to tell us to make reservations in advance. Had to settle on pizza as everything else was closed for Sabbath. Overall, an average lodge.
- Michael (10/5): Warm and welcome rooms - We had a great time at Desert View. Avi was an outstanding host and made us feel welcome and comfortable. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
- M (8/5): Clean and Spacious Accomodation - Avi, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. He has basically created five units on his property, each with it's own private entrance. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we would not hesitate to stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Neat little homey place - basically an Airbnb - Great place - basically an Airbnb. Avi is super hospitable, friendly, and helpful. Quiet neighborhood.
- Mikael (10/5): Bra läge, nära Döda havet och Masada. - Bra läge, nära Döda havet och Masada. Trevlig personal.
- David (10/5): Great location - Very friendly staff. Gave excellent information on the dead sea, where to park, etc. Hotel in excellent location for west entrance to Masada
- Verified traveler (10/5): Terrific place - Easy to find, owner incredible, place exceeded expectations, price was right, private, clean, and I could go on and on. Would go back in an instant. Great place to launch to Masada, Ein Geri and Dead Sea without paying vast amounts of money for a hotel. Ben wanted to exrnd our stay, but understandingly, he was already fully booked.
- Ileana (8/5): Clean and friendly - The proprietor gave us the newest room, which was very clean and comfortable.
The place is >30 mins from the Dead Sea, making it a quieter, less expensive option for enjoying this part of Israel
- James (8/5): An overnight in Arad - We stayed overnight at Desert View in Arad coming from the Negev enroute to the Dead Sea. Our host was very welcoming, arranging to meet us at a convenient time for us. The units are separate apartments in his house or in an adjacent house that he recently renovated. We had a comfortable one bedroom with kitchenette and bath with a private entrance. Parking is provided off-street in front of the house and there was a pleasant covered sitting area outside of our unit. We located Desert View on Google Maps so it was easy to find. Our host suggested a good dinner option nearby called Muza as well as a lookout view over the Dead Sea. Arad is relatively small so was easy to get around. From there is is a short but steep drive down to the Dead Sea.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sehr nette Gastgeber, Kueche war etwas mager ausgestattet, sonst ok.
- Kwang Min (10/5): - Cohen, the owner of this house was full of hospitality. My family had a pleasant time during one night stay. Thanks Cohen.
- Lyn (6/5): No desert view - Note this I see not a hotel, hard to find without a gps. This is a private home made into 3-4 appts. No desert view. This is located in a built up residential area. Not a great visit, room very cold took a long time for room and bed to warm up. Tv didn't work, poor signal. Would not come back here, too far away from everything. Ari very pleasant and tried to make environment nice for us, newly renovated and decorated.
Heel aardige man, die ons ontving.
- Trina (8/5): Relax in a clean apartment close to Masada - This is not really a hotel- its more like staying at some nice apartments. The owners are incredible kind and helpful. The area is a small village with a few restaurants (the closest one to us was closed so we had to walk almost 30 minutes to another one) and is about 20-40 minutes away from Masada. It is only about 15 minutes walk from the bus stop (you're walking up hills FYI) so this makes it fairly convenient for traveling from other cities by public transportation. The room we had was very new and we absolutely loved it. Bed was comfy, it was very clean and had a nice kitchen (though we didn't find the grocery store for such a short stay). I would recommend staying here because for us it was a very relaxing point in our trip.
