• Charlotte (10/5): The perfect escape in busy tamarindo - We had a wonderful stay at Villa Nauticus in Tamarindo and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. This charming boutique hotel is perfectly located just two blocks from the beach, offering easy access while still being tucked away from the busy, more crowded parts of town. It was the ideal balance of convenience and tranquility. We traveled with our 7-year-old son, and the pool was definitely a highlight for him—he absolutely loved it and looked forward to swimming every day. What truly sets Villa Nauticus apart is the hospitality. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Their knowledge of the local area is outstanding—they gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants and activities that really enhanced our trip. The room service was excellent, and every detail of our stay exceeded expectations. Everything we could have asked for—and more—was taken care of. We would absolutely stay here again

Agelie will give you all the tips and tricks around the block, from activities to best restaurants and has direct contact with many vendors and locals to hook you up. The location is ideal, it is quiet while still in the thick of Tamarindo. Gorgeous and convenient locale. The room and premises were beautifully decorated and had good air conditioning and solid internet. For the price this property is the best quality in town.

• Grady (10/5): STAY HERE! - WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO STAY! Villa Nautilus is operated by a friendly and very helpful French family (who also speak Spanish and English) who bend over backwards to make you feel at home. Rooms are cozy, pool is nice, and the location (3 minute walk from beach, ATM, supermarket, bookstore, and restaurants) is perfect. If you want to be just another guest, stay at one of the big hotels. If you want to feel like you're at home, stay at Villa Nautilus!
• Cynthia (10/5): I was completely satisfied and would recommend this guest - The location is perfect, easy walking distance to beach, supermarkets, restaurants, gym, and only one block from the WAYRA Spanish school which was the reason for my stay. The room was exactly as represented on the listing, with all the amenities expected. The host Agélie is fantastic, and she went above and beyond by booking local shuttle transport to and from the guest house, providing a wealth of information and recommendations about Tamarindo, and being flexible with my checkout time. All in all an exceptional stay.

The owner sat us down for about 2 hours upon arrival to go over all the amenities in the area, which was nice, but did not seem optional and was very overwhelming after traveling all day. My airpods were also missing upon returning back to the house one day, which was the only valuable item that I did not lock up in the safe. The owner was very upset when I brought this up and asked if she had seen them.

Having not been to Tamarindo before this place was PERFECT for location as it's literally down the road from the beach. Upon arrival, Agelie greeted us and was super helpful with providing information about Tamarindo and everything that this amazing part of Costa Rica has to offer! Having lived there for a number of years, Agelie had so much useful information about the tours, restaurants, surroundings etc.. You name it, she could help you with it! The room was perfect for what we needed. Good size, clean, and had a pool right outside in the shared area, which us and the other guests could use. Would 100% recommend staying here if you want somewhere close to the beach and bars/restaurants and value your privacy. **Special shout out to her little son for providing us with his homemade lemonade every day - super refreshing in the dry season heat! • Filippo (8/5): A nice place to relax - We were in the ground floor room with pool view, family of 3. The room was spacious. Although it seemed a bit dated, the room was clean and kept in perfect condition by the staff on daily basis. We had a fridge and kitchen appliances to prepare our breakfast. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The pool area felt like an oasis, but beware of mosquitos. The owner Agelie did a great job to make us feel at home and was always ready to help by offering advice on tours and restaurants. The power sockets could be better placed, as sometimes we had to use a portable socket hanging from the kitchen top. The accomodation is not the closest to the center but still just a 5-10min away on foot. Sometimes the pool could be cleaned a bit better, but it was still enjoyable. For the price maybe we would expect just a little more, but overall it was a very good stay.

We arrived in Tamarindo with loose ideas of what we wanted to do, but didn't have anything booked. They recommended so many great activities, like a private surf lesson and a catamaran trip and took a lot of the effort of research off of our hands. The property itself is relaxing, secluded, and safe. Still centrally located and easy to walk everywhere in town. I have no complaints!

Short doable walk. Many options close by! Breakfast was great! Outdoor shower option nice! Felt safe and secure on property. You are given a key to unlock/lock gate as u come/go. View from terrace onto pool and surrounding foliage beautiful. Quiet hours 8:00 pm… some will appreciate this Overpriced!! Property difficult to find, no numbers or signage. Lots of stair climbing with your luggage; uneven terrain & stairs handicap or elderly could not stay here! A bit too quiet/stuffy atmosphere (realize some will love this) Too many knickknacks consuming the table and bathroom counter, unnecessary. Lighting in room is next to none, basically non-existent!!! They do have a flashlight in the rooms so they are aware the lighting is not suffice. Terrible water pressure!!The worst was the sink, to the point we thought the water valves had been turned off. Easy to hear other guest and home owners in their rooms; could see daylight into their area thru shared interior door. No ice. Not allowed to use AC during day (staff even shut ours off while we were sitting pool side) While using the restroom and spouse sitting outside, staff came in shut off our AC and began pulling open our curtains. Even after opening the bathroom door and acknowledging that I was in the room they didn’t immediately leave. Very disturbing!

Wish we could have a light outside on after 8pm so we can play cards. If you wanted to stay up you'd need to be in your room or out of the Villa at night. It's kinda hard though because the hosts don't want to deal with people being loud and staying up forever.

• Denitsa (10/5): A beautiful, comfortable, quiet villa to relax in, right in the center of Tamarindo. - I loved the guest house and our accommodation! Our studio apartment had everything we needed, a small kitchenette where we prepared food, a comfy couch and coffee table area to relax with a book, and even a small private outdoor area, where I enjoyed hearing the sounds of the birds. The property is quiet and beautiful, while still in a central location in the town of Tamarindo. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We received warm service from the owners and staff and a ton of recommendations on where to go to make the best of our stay. We enjoyed having coffee and breakfast at the property too, it was delicious! The pool area is wonderful too, a great place to relax. I can not wait to go again! Wish there was a full size mirror in the room and more shelving in the bathroom. Also wish there were complimentary coffee and fruit, throughout the day in the restaurant area near the pool.

More lighting in the room and bathroom and in shower shelving in bathroom to get ready would be helpful. Some type of storage for clothing you need to hang is ideal as well.

A block away is an area where you can get any kind of tour Tamarindo offers— catamaran, atv, horses, and more. The breakfasts were excellent. I loved the homemade jams. Our room was cute, rustic, and comfortable. Good air conditioning, thoughtful touches, nice pool. This is a great spot to stay in Tamarindo for a comfortable Costa Rican experience. We enjoyed that this b-n-b has only a few rooms, so it was quiet, yet we were not lacking in amenities and Agelie set us up with all we needed for supplies, info about the town, and arranged tours and shuttles.

Breakfast was fabulous...Costa Rican, french press coffee and fresh fruit every morning more! We love smaller places and you have the opportunity to visit with other guest if you choose in the common areas, or have quiet and privacy. Also, our hosts Agelie and Laurent were both so charming and you feel very welcome in their home! Take time to visit with them if your schedule allows!

Pero siempre a pocos pasos de la playa y la gran variedad de oferta comercial y de restaurantes de este emblemático sitio de la costa de Guanacaste. Recomendado para parejas o familias, dado que cuentan también con habitaciones para 4 pax equipadas con cocina.

Området kring frukosten och poolen är mysigt och trevligt. Personalen är hjälpsam och rummet rent. Att gå ner till butiker mm tar bra några minuter. Parkering utanför fungerade bra. wifi fungerade ok.

The morning’s check out I had to drop my friend at the airport. The day before I let her know. I wasn’t on time at 11:00, I had less a hour of late When I came back, I saw all my personal stuffs outside close to the hotel’s gate. Everyone could stole my passport, watch, sunglasses and suitcases ... I had no texts and no calls. • A (10/5): Walk to the beach. Secluded and safe. - This is a bed and breakfast type of place that is run by a very kind and helpful French couple. It's a bit unclear where to park and how to get into the place at first, but once you're in, it's a beautiful 3 story building with a fantastic pool and patio area. They made us a perfect breakfast of French pastries and local fruit. The bed was amazing. Possibly the best bed we've ever slept on. The hosts pulled a map out to show us all the best restaurants in town...and they were great recommendations! We'd definitely stay here again.

Amazing atmosphere, clean room, gorgeous amenity area to relax and enjoy the pool. The owners are welcoming, informative and great people. We had breakfast served by the pool one day. Easily the best breakfast we have ever had in Costa Rica. An easy walk to the beach, restaurants and convenience stores. I highly recommend Villa Nautilus and will be returning.

• Scott (10/5): A great bed and breakfast style lodging. - This Villa is a perfect if you want affordable and safe lodging near the beach with a personal touch. This property is owned and ran by a very friendly French couple. It's located just a few minutes walk away from the beach and all the Tamarindo restaurants and shops. The property is surrounded by a tall fence and locked gate, to which you get a key for access. The breakfast each morning is made fresh for you with coffee, juice and fruit. Our room was located just off the living room and kitchen area so we did hear some of the commotion of the French family but it was not overwhelming nor excessive -- and they do have a couple more isolated rooms on the first floor. I would not hesitate to stay here again if we ever visit Tamarindo again.

Our room was at the corner of house, entrance to room was not easily accessible, making it difficult at night as it is dark walking on the side of the house. Sensory light comes on, but not until you've already at your door. Found cockroaches in the bathroom, appears to come out late at night. Overall, did not feel very comfortable.
