- Hilda (5/5): Place needs fumigation urgently! Cockroaches every where! - Good Cockroaches in my bed, bathroom and kitchen!
Toaster was discussing dirty!
We had to ask for things that should be standard like hangers to hang our clothes!
- Norbert (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): - Very Spacious cottage and the owns were very friendly and helpful
- Karen (9/5): Very enjoyable - Lovely rural location, cottages nicely spaced out for privacy, and the birdlife in the morning. No umbrella at the door.
- Tracy (7/5): Cute - Cute charming Showers didn’t work directly after each other.
No option to select GF breakfast
- Geoff (7/5): -
- Kath (7/5): My single bed in the cottage lounge was AMAZING - so comfortable!! - Cute cottage… bigger than expected. Loved the cottage experience!
Loved the breakfast 🍳 The front steps up into the cottage need maintenance. They are steep and need the slip- tape replaced on some of them. Get rid of the old farm gear/saddles etc hanging on the exterior walls!! They are covered in bird poo and the cottages would look better with them gone from the walls - and the walls scrubbed clean.
- Viktor (10/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): - Great location. Lovely staff.
- Ruth (10/5): Retreat weekend - Love the coziness of the cottage. The staff were very attentive, the little treats, were lovely thanks Loved it all
Just the latch on the kitchen door was able to lock but does need looking at

- Megan (10/5): We were staying here for a wedding we had a total of 5 cabins I couldn’t fault anything absolutely amazing - The accomodation was amazing such a beautiful place to stay I would highly recommend vineyard cottages Kumeu
- Nicky (10/5): Excelllenr and would definitely return - It’s set in the country side which is amazing. Very comfortable cottages with all the amenities and they fire is great. Good breakfast was left for us to make in the morning too. Would stay again! Nothing
- John Gleeson (8/5): -
- Piotr1414 (9/5): Comfortable accommodation in a stylish, rural house - We slept in a wooden house, looking inconspicuous from the outside, but inside it was very comfortably equipped. Comfortable sleeping with a large comfortable bed, a living room with a well -equipped kitchen. Fireplace. Bathroom. The price included breakfast, which was important to us, because we arrived late in the evening. The house was stylishly furnished, in wood. The bathroom was a bit tight, but there was warm water and a shower.
- Jeff (7/5): Good - Location Early check in we requested did not happen.
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Agnes (8/5): Love the accommodation however, I'm big on communication. calls & emails to be addressed asap please - Rooms, view, hygiene and breakfast were amazing Communication. Never answered calls, although they would call back. Email response was another issue
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (10/5): Beat wedding accommodation in kumeu - Spacious cabin that is set in the olden times but awesome layout. Delicious fresh breakfast. Fireplace was great as was cold at night. Staff were amazing and friendly. Even called to tell us we left behind a winter jumper muchly appreciated :) Couldn't fault it.
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional - The cottages were perfect, we had booked it for our wedding and it was such
- Stephen (10/5): Peaceful, warm and clean, nice people - Supplied continental breakfast was very good The weather :)
- Mariska (10/5): Exceptional - Love the atmosphere of the cabins. It was lovely. .
- Stockman (8/5): Very good - We had a lovely night in the cottage for my partner's birthday. Beautiful location, lovely and peaceful along with everything you need in the cottage for a quiet night away from the city. Beautiful!
- Brendan (9/5): Great spot.wish we could have extended our stay - Beautifully appointed and very private.
- John (8/5): would return - breakfast very good lovely bread and fresh eggs and juice
location good very quiet and scenic remote gate..... pain having to open and shut each time when driving in and out
- Akshay (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): - I feel sorry we only stayed for one night. A unique property and very comfortable. Breakfast was fun to make and everything there for a full meal. Thank you!
- Maxine (9/5): Superb - I loved the cottage and the grounds! It was beautiful and really peaceful. I was in Sauvignon Blanc, and it was all very charming. The homegrown plums were lovely, and the staff onsite were helpful and friendly. The couch wouldn't stay flat and I put my back out.
- Morag (8/5): Lovely location and very atmospheric - The location suited us. The cottage was lovely - very olde worldy. Lots of space and very comfortable. A bit dark as it is covered in vines.
When a breakfast is described as exceptional, I expect a cooked, served breakfast in a dining room, not a do it yourself job. There was not enough milk for beverages and cereal.
- Ramsey (10/5): - A quaint lodge in a beautiful and secluded setting in the Waimauku countryside. The property has everything you could need and the breakfast food provided was great. It was clean and quiet and only a 5 minute drive from the nearest town. Would definitely stay here again!
- Niels (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Toni (10/5): Perfect place to relax and unwind - Peaceful, relaxing and very well appointed. The treats for breakfast were lovely. Nothing
- Traveltabs (9/5): Beautiful cottage in a whimsical location. - Beautiful cottage in a dreamy location close to the vineyards of Kumeu.
The staff were very helpful and responsive both before, during and after the stay. Would recommend to all.
A well considered breakfast package to enjoy too. The shower didn't drain properly and overtopped into the bathroom, but this was the only problem we encountered during our stay (and a very minor one)
- Milia (9/5): Superb - Cottage was beautiful the only problem was the bed was uncomfortable and the fold up bed kept collapsing, but despite this the cottage was immaculate and the surrounding property was awesome. The bed was uncomfortable could feel the springs and it felt lumpy. Also the fold up bed was missing a pin and kept collapsing. Despite this the property overall was awesome.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tate (8/5): Very good -
- Ajinkya (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Great atmosphere - We stayed here when attending a nearby wedding. Check in was done at our cabin effortlessly. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our stay here.
- Mark (8/5): - Surprisingly great cottage accommodation near Auckland. Could be good for an extended stay, but we had only the one night.
The property is in a recessed gully on the land, so suffers from poor mobile connectivity, and the on-site WiFi was no better in the specific cottage we had -- wouldn't do for us for a longer stay. Some of the other units (opposite side of the gully) may have better reception.
Hosts were great, and we have only praise for everything else but the lack of decent internet.
- Kirrie (8/5): Great stay - love these cottages! - Unique property nice for get away - also great for weddings as. Lose to wedding venues Breakfast included - old school decor
- Hana (10/5): - With a shortcut to the vineyard next door, this property was idyllic! Staff were very accommodating
- Olwyn (9/5): Would love to have stayed longer - a perfect time! - Beautifully quaint decor and fantastic setting
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Stevie1984 (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful, private and spacious Lots of mosquitos, recommended closing windows and doors early
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (8/5): Very good -
- Bella (10/5): - Beautiful, cosy cottages!
- Debbie (9/5): Nice people, very accommodation, quiet and peaceful. - Lovely people and nice location, very private cottages. Clean and tidy and handy to where we needed to be. Accessible by Uber and Taxi, so staying out of town not a problem. They let us park our cars earlier than normal and were very accommodating. Nothing really. Beds not to our liking,...but only there for 1 night.
- Alan (9/5): A unique and nice place to stay and was convenient for me with family staying nearby. - A very comfortable bed. A breakfast basket was supplied and replenished every day, as were the towels. The cottages are interesting, built in a rustic style but with modern apparatus. There was wifi and a TV. Nothing really. The price was on the high side for a single person, but I expected that.
- Anneliese (10/5): - Really lovely stay. Nice fire and amenities
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed longer. It was a very comfortable cottage, with a separate bedroom, kitchen, and lounge. The open fireplace was fantastic. The location was great with a working winery next door, which we visited for a sunset drinks and tasting and then went back to the restaurant for dinner that night. The couch needs replacing as the cushions kept collapsing into the couch ( fold out bed) and there was no hot water or pressure on the morning we left.
- Tyson (10/5): - We had a amazing stay the staff are very friendly and the place is amazing with a beautiful fire
10 out of 10
- David (3/5): Rustic charm gone wrong. - The log burner fire was great. Especially as our stay was mid winter. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful although only available after a phone call as reception was closed. Setting may be great in summer but not that inviting in winter. Shower was terrible, too hard to keep a constant temperature, tiles were slippery. Dumper shower head not good for those who don't want to get hair wet.
Self Breakfast ingredients supplied were minimal and not conducive with the price paid. One egg each is hardly luxury. We have stayed in places with a far superior breakfast box.
We were expecting almost 5 star accommodation for $650 for 2 nights. Actual charge on our credit card was $666!
Lounge furniture was tired, grubby and uncomfortable.
Listing stated bathrobes included, they were not.
Listing stated bbq included, none was seen. Luckily there was a hot plate and a frying pan that we could cook our steak on.
Heated towel rail wasn't working although staff attempted to get an electrician to service it but not successful.
No outside light at front veranda especially as we were arriving back after dark.
There is very little competition for accommodation in the area so that probably means they can charge what they like.
Whole place had a run down feel.
- Sullivan (9/5): Superb -
- Sunil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (8/5): - We loved the authenticity and cosy bed and fire. We felt the bathroom let it down. Nowhere to pop your toiletries. Rae was wonderful at bringing us coffee which was missing and looked after us well.
- John (10/5): - An excellent place to relax
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, had everything we needed.
- De (10/5): Beautiful, highly recommended! - The location, the cottages inside were beautiful and the staff so friendly
- Anat (10/5): Nice and beautiful. - It's amazing ,very spacious for couples. Every thing was good: the bed, the kitchen, the shower. But we didn't have cellular reception at the cottage and the WiFi was bad. For dinner we had to drive for 15-20 mins. Be aware that it's abit lonely.we loved it.
- Jessica (10/5): - Super cute cottages and the staff are amazing. Really loved the cute breaky as well 10/10 would recommend ❤️
- Nicole (9/5): We had a lovely time and would love to visit again. - The breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful we would certainly recommend it to anyone. Everything was perfect for our stay
- Jo (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Eli (10/5): Wish we stayed longer - The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were very friendly
- Joseph (10/5): - There was excellent communication from staff in the lead up to us checking in. On arrival at the cottages we were greeted by super friendly and helpful staff. The cottages are absolutely gorgeous, photos dont do them justice. They have clearly thought of everything for the guests to have a well equipped stay. Will definitely be booking to stay again. Thank you so much vineyard cottages team
- Stefan (2/5): 5 star prices, 2 star quality. - Great location. Some helpful friendly staff Dead bugs everywhere, ant trails, old food in microwaves, no way to clean pans, no towel changes, no bin changes, no new toilet paper. No housekeeping.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leeann (10/5): Exceptional - The hostility is outstanding as well as the the beautiful accom
- Craig (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. The surroundings were beautiful and the cottage was perfect. - Breakfast was great. Location fantastic Aircon
- Nigel (7/5): Good - Lovely location and feel to the cottage. The owners dogs ran around the property and bothered us while enjoying an evening drink outside. Some of the furniture (the sofa in the lounge) was damaged and very uncomfortable.
- Bevan (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Still enjoyed staying here - Love the ambience. Beautiful surroundings and like the style of the cottages. Would like some screens on the windows to keep out the mozzies. A ceiling fan would be good on humid nights.
- Lesley (8/5): Very good - Beautiful period cottage. Very comfortable, quiet and private. No deck to speak of to sit on. No view.
- Tazza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hemisha (10/5): Very happy customer! - Excellent communication by staff prior to arrival. Lovely accomodation as always. This was our second time there. Even forgot my Apple Watch there after checkout, was at the beach when I remembered, but staff were soo honest and nice to call and notify me to come pick it up
- Julie (9/5): Superb - A perfect venue to stay after our wedding at kumeu Valley Estate
- Grant (7/5): Good -
- Leanne (9/5): We stayed for a wedding just for one night, but would definitely stay again - Very cute and welcoming. Quite quaint Nothing
- Melinda (10/5): The cottages are cozy, “rustically” decorated, and quiet. We could stay here a long time! - Lots of options were provided for breakfast. The bread was wonderful! Sofa is a little broken down and hard to get out of.
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (7/5): Very convenient for us - Wanted instant coffee as well as gound. would have liked more milk. Nothing
- Marcia (9/5): Superb - Setting is beautiful and very peaceful.
Cottage is quaint.
Loved the wee wood burner: it quickly heated our cottage once lit.
We stayed there as it was close to our niece's wedding: the owner even drove us to the wedding venue which was unexpected. Shower surface slippery plus there was no bath mat.
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - The cottages were comfortable and warm, they had everything we needed. The scenery was beautiful. It was unfortunate we couldn't stay longer.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic be - We absolutely loved our stay at vineyard cottages . Ellie and the staff were so lovely , friendly kind and helpful with any request . We will be returning 😁 No complaints
- Thorpe (9/5): Lovely, relaxing. - Meet all our needs for our brief stay. Was very appreciative that the owners/managers lit the fire in each of our cabins ready for our return later in the evening on a chilly night. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. Perhaps a little shelf/bench in the bathroom for placing toilet bags, clothes, etc. And an extra towel rail for a hand towel would be handy.
