Guest Reviews
- Khanyisa (1/5): I did not visit the place - I booked and when I call for directions no answer the whole nite and I had to travell back The fact that money was deducted and when I called for check in no answer
- Pienaar (5/5): - Only the location Rooms were smelly, the bathroom floor were dirty.
- Elize (1/5): Bad - Cancelled as there was no place available
- Talitha (6/5): Pleasant - I always love the freedom of this place and how I can always stay up outside till late and there is a bar and braai area. I definitely loved my room. They did not warn us that the pool was no longer in use . The water in our shower was dirty .
- Morne (7/5): Good -
- Christo (1/5): Horrible!!!!! - Nothing, it was horrible Everything. False marketing, unsafe location, every thing was filthy, aircons not working it was 40 degrees. Staff was drunk and unhelpful, manager was on holiday.
- Nice (5/5): Passable -
- Wilson (4/5): We were disappointed as it is run down and falling apart. - We enjoyed the quite surrounds and working farm environment. It was close to our destinations,Addo National park was 13minutes away. The shower walls were flaky with paint..The coffee table was falling apart. No washing soap for dishes, towels short and we were a family of three. The air conditioning did not work and we had to ask for fans. The wifi did not work and we had to always go up to the main reception to get any signal.Water appeared to be switched off at times as did not flow well from the shower.Lastly, false advertising as no pool present not according to the website.Only one fork in the cutlery drawer. We also struggled to open the door once locked from inside, faulty lock system.Very disappointed as this was one of thr best hotels in its haydays.
- Thanduxolo (5/5): Passable - I loved the atmosphere, nice and quiet. I was expecting to relax on the swimming pool as advertised on your photos only to find out that it is undermaintenance. Which was not specified clearly, which was disappointing.
- William (1/5): will definitely never book there again. had to ask for geyser to be put on. cars not parked safely, - did not have bfast after I saw the facilities unfriendly staff
poor reception
whole place is a rundown concern
when we got there, there was a party going on, people sitting around in the reception and dining room . drunk people with plates of meat in front of them which they ate by hand.
unwelcome reception, receptionist close were dirty.
by far the most expensive booking for a booking for two people for our trip
- Nadia (1/5): -1000 out 10 - Ive logged a complaint. We left the property on the 14th as there is no restaurant that's open, no bar, no pool, no entertainment, wrong unit. The place is under construction! Ive logged a complaint. We left the property on the 14th as there is no restaurant that's open, no bar, no pool, no entertainment, wrong unit. The place is under construction!
- Paul (7/5): Simple, comfortable, clean and friendly. - It appears to have had it’s glory days, but it is a comfortable and friendly base to have near Addo Elephant National Reserve. The people are really nice and go out of their way to help. Nothing
- Msingapantsi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gerhard (3/5): Poor - Only one staffmember over the two days ? Running the whole hotel from front desk to kitchen! But cooked our steak perfectly! Buildings very badly neclected! No TV or barfridge. No other holiday guests, only contractors working on rebuilding roads.
- Sim (1/5): Uncomfortable - Room stuffy, dirty shower and no TV in the room Everything
- Anele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Van (5/5): Not what we expected to get and paid for. - Location Expectation VS reality
Premises very neglected
Doesn’t look at all as it looks on booking dit com
Rooms wasn’t ready
Rooms were smelling like damp
One towel per room but we were paying for two
Not even two cups per room
- Charon (1/5): Disaster with a captial D!!!! - What a disaster. I would not even let my dead dog spend ONE night there. Dirty, sloppy, Unkept, Untidy, it was just totally not what the photo's said, maybe the photo's were taken 100 years ago!!!!! EVERYTHING!!!
- Jan (4/5): Shower soup tray come off and left on shower floor for 4 days by housekeeping. - safety was good. No cross ventilation in room
- Sonai (4/5): Disappointing - The photos on Booking.com advertising looks like it was taken 10years ago. A lot of wear and tear. Photos of premises and rooms to be updated
- Thandiwe (5/5): Passable -
- Gunn (7/5): Good -
- Khanyisile (1/5): Don't give the reviews of this place any benefit of a doubt. Lol. - Bad service, Staff and owner are good at apologies but no solutions. Pool dirty from day 1 till we left, frog enjoyed the swim(literally). Definitely not value for money rather spend a thousand or more for better accomodation, it's nothing as depicted on pictures. It was only available accomodation for duration we wanted. We cut our holiday shorter.
- Zamakhuma (8/5): Beautiful experience - Breakfast was absolutely amazing. The staff are very kind and welcoming, nice food and very good vibes Some of the towels were torn and there were stains on one of the mattresses under the sheet. More soap options would have been better (bar of soap) as well as shower gel.
- Hanneke (9/5): Exceeded expectations - The room was clean and spacious with a functional and quiet A/C. With a small kitchenette and fridge and tea and coffee for convenience. There was easy access to outside for my dog to use his own facilities. Nothing, except for the fact that they are currently building
- Mehmet (10/5): Lekker - The owners and the crew is best i have ever met..they were so friendly so helpful with everything. They also have delicious dinner options. In the very yard of the hotel you got a that little but cosy and wise bar…you can choose have a beer at bar or you can rest in your room completely silent atmosphere. Highly recommended.
- Néline (7/5): Good - Overall not so good experience . Place inside is maintained well but the outside very very poor
5 stars for the one that made food , food is divine . Tvs doesnt work , no hot water , not safe enough and near a location that makes tremendously noice
Overpriced for a place that went down the drain
- Nwabisa (1/5): We couldn't even check in, the place looks deserted, even the guy which I think is the security guard didn't eve - Nothing Everything
- Thandeka (8/5): Very good -
- Jarrod (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nieuwoudt (1/5): Bad - Nothing On arrival there were customers complaining about their rooms. We then proceeded to check-in. Two of our rooms were on the side of the building and looked nothing like was advertised. They were overlooking a squatercamp and had dirty bedding and floors with dirty kitched facilities. The whole building is very rundown and it seemed to be that there were permanent residents with dogs in the rooms aswell as smoking inside. Our other room had mould in the shower and roof. Very unpleasant and leaved immediately, could not even stay one night.
- Nieuwoudt (1/5): Bad -
- Adriaan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Priscilla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heidi (9/5): Superb -
- Carmen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nola (6/5): Pleasant. -
- Leigh-anne (4/5): It's ok, but I'll pick another place to stay next time I need to stay in the area. - The room was clean and staff where helpful. The interior dining area looked very nice as did the bar. The exterior buildings and gardens are in dire need of maintenance. The room was clean and tidy, but the basic kitchen supplies where not even in a cupboard just stacked onto a table. The security room was next to our room and we had constant noise the entire evening.
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Munhemera (9/5): Superb -
- Justine (4/5): Disappointing - Staff really tried their best. Bed bugs
Extremely dirty shower floor
No kitchen - why is it advertised as self-catering?
Outdated rooms
The place really doesn't look like the advertised pics.
It's cheap so be aware that u are getting a cheap cheap place.
- Bernard (8/5): Very good - A well equiped, if small kitchenette ... Good beds and nice emplacement 11km from Addo NP ... Huge bathroom ... The size of the room, a bit too small for all the equipment ...
- Carryn (8/5): Very good -
- Allison (7/5): Good - Close proximity to Addo main Camp & gate Building very old and run down
Carpets in the rooms
No water and the bit that did come out never got hot.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evodia (2/5): Very poor - The entry was fine. The room was not nice. There was a smell in the room, the toilet was not working, the bed for my daughter was uncomfortable because there were dents in it. Ended up not sleeping there, booked another venue, rated lower than this place on booking.com, that was way more comfortable, cleaner, neater and more welcoming.
- Gavin (8/5): Very good -
- Rowan (7/5): Pictures must be updated of everything - Was nice family oriented Air-con was bad in our room in room 20 and kids room was good but was distance from ours
- Andisiwe (5/5): Passable -
- Abraham (3/5): Poor -
- Mbalenhle (8/5): Very good - I like the area. I didn't like that they didn't have a backup generator when there was loadshedding. The rooms also didn't have TVs and the pool wasn't clean.
- Salih (10/5): Very friendly staff and great location - The staff is extremely friendly and nice! The location and surroundings are very beautiful. The rooms are quite large and equipped with everything you need. The breakfast is also nice. Definitely recommendable!
- Tanya (3/5): run down and lacking in ambience. - location was good. it has so much potential as a traditional, charming place.
The game drive as arranged by the property was amazing. Riaan from Zasendle (www.zasendle.com) was helpful, well-informed and all round provided a great game driving experience. Property is run down, there was barely any customer service, the beds and towels had stains on it, the outdoor furniture was dirty and uninviting, there was barely ever anyone at the front desk, no way to find someone to arrange for dinner or breakfast so you basically have to go off property to eat.
- Thanduxolo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ace01061969 (8/5): Very good -
- Schoonbee (3/5): Poor - That it was close to the Addo National park. It was dirty, the check in and check out was dine poorly. The food had to be sent back. The plugs didnt work. It wasnt as advertised. The pool was unsuable.
- Lehlogonolo (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (10/5): Spacious, clean room close to Addo Elephant Park - The room was very spacious with a nice little corner with everything you need to cook a basic meal. The bed was really comfortable and the lavender on the bed was a nice touch. It was quiet at night and the bathroom was also nice and spacious. Addo Elephant park was about a 10 minute drive away so a perfect location for visiting the national park. The entire town of Addo had water issues during our stay so we didn't had water for most of our stay but this was not something the accommodation could help.
- Meenakshi (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and clean place, close to Addo Elephant park. nice staff.
- Zweni (10/5): The kraal Addo experience - The place was very nice, the room was out of this world, it was very romantic
The people were very friendly, they made our stay very special. The lack of drinking water.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Convient for addo Park.
Good sized room with all we needed.
Internally well looked after. Swimming pool is more of a splash pool.
- Willem (6/5): Pleasant -
- Wayne (5/5): Passable -
- Yukari (1/5): Bad -
- Mandla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Qinela (7/5): Good -
- Branden (9/5): Superb -
- Melumzi (4/5): Need improvement - Close to taxi rank I don't like room doesn't have TV and dstv
- Reynold (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thanduxolo (8/5): Very good -
- Phoebe (8/5): Very good -
- Melumzi (8/5): Very good - Breakfast must be included in the prize especially for one night stay. Breakfast is very important meal, sometimes there's a loadshedding and you can't make your own breakfast. Dstv channels. We need to be accommodated especially sport channels.
- Eugene (6/5): Pleasant - Distance to Addo Elephant Park. Friendly staff. Property needs TLC. Gardens can do with cleanup. The room needs some serious maintenance. Current state gives the impression it is not clean.
- Nel (8/5): Very good -
