Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Superb location, quiet and very comfortable. Great gym and lots of eateries close by.
- Patrick (10/5): - Best for family stay.
Bus stop at front door, close to restaurants and super market
- Traci (10/5): Two bedroom apartment - The location was close to many restaurants and was a short Lyft/Uber to the Capitol Mall and museums. I wouldn't say you'd want to walk it in the heat/rain.
The layout was a little different than expected, but worked out great for our family. The two bedroom apartment has a queen in the master and two twins in the second room. Both rooms have access to its own bathroom. The pull out bed in the living room was perfect for a kid or two.
Overall it exceeded our expectations.
- Larry (8/5): Nice place - Nice place but we were not informed how the key fob security system worked so I could not use the elevator or get into the building until I tracked someone down and they showed me to wave the key in front of the device. Also, the pillows are not firm enough. They start fluffy but crush down over time into almost no support. It is also weird that in the closing email you say I should empty my own trash cans.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Near tourist sites. Safe and secure. Fast elevators.
- Christie (8/5): No extra bed - If you are renting this to have the option of the pull out couch don’t. I ended up just sleeping on the couch because the pull out bed was nothing but springs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, lots of shops and restaurants around.
- Dustin (10/5): Home in DC - Was somewhat unclear when I got there that this is not an ordinary hotel - rather it's a sort of 'long-term stay' kind of place. (Indeed, my sense was that most of the people in the building lived there.) So no housekeeping. But as far as I was concerned, it was great. It's basically a large 1-bedroom apartment. The full kitchen meant that I could buy groceries and cook some meals at home. The surrounding is also great, with good restaurants, grocery stores, bars, etc, all within about two or three blocks. Great place to be if staying for a couple nights.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great stay! - We had a lovely stay. The area is great for resources and restaurants and stores. The bed was comfortable but the sofa bed was not. It needs an egg crate foam pad perhaps? The apartment was great to stay in. The kitchen would be even better with just a few basics added - salt and pepper, a dish scrubber, and cooking spray. It would also be great to have a folder of info about the area though the desk staff was wonderfully helpful. You should know there is parking but it is $20 a day and you must pay the front desk staff in a money order or check - no cash or card. You should also know the wifi password is on the sticker on the router on the floor near the tv.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We took a family vacation to Washington DC and this place was perfect. It was a short 15 minute walk to the White House. We had a one bedroom apartment which allowed us to go to the store (Whole Foods 2 blocks away or a well stocked CVS) for breakfast and dinner meals and eat out lunch while touring DC. It has some great restaurants also very close. Will definitely book here again if it is available. We were able to do laundry in the apartment. If you are looking for full service such as daily maid service this is not the place for you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable and clean room with various furniture.
- Jeff (10/5): Surprisingly good facilities for the price - Nice restaurants nearbye and really good facilities and nice staff - will make this our regular base in Washington in the future
- Tatyana (4/5): - Not a good service, good location
- cal (10/5): great choice - Loved the atmosphere... Clean and in a good location. Comfortable and roomy!
- Bob (10/5): - Convenient, spacious, clean and secure. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the stay immensely.
- Daniel (10/5): Not luxury, but mighty nice! - We stayed at the Andover House for a week, and loved returning "home" after business and touring in the city. The concierge staff was gracious, the building was very clean, and having a comfortable residence was marvelous! The beds were good, the bathrooms were just fine, the closets were large, and the kitchen was just about fully stocked.
The neighborhood was comfortable, and the only small drawback was the walking distance from the Metro in the rain.
I would go back in a minute, and would re-book whenever we had the opportunity to be in DC. I have already encouraged friends to contact the hotel.
- Lynnette (10/5): Exceptional - The service was exceptional.
- Ken (10/5): DC Trip - Nice place, loved the washer and dryer. The location was very convenient and I felt secure in the Room.
- Danny (2/5): - There was only a 1/2 roll of toilet paper, 2 teaspoons and 3 table spoons. One of the pillows had no pillow case and there were only 2 light cotton blankets. The mattress on the pullout couch was so thin you could feel the springs. The tile in the doorway of the bathroom leading to the kitchen was broken so it prevented the bathroom door from closing properly. There was no coffee or water in the kitchen. The $400 we saved by staying there was not worth it. If we had stayed at a regular hotel the amenities would be much better. Also, we could not find the WIFI password. It was a pain in the neck trying to get to the garage. We kept driving around in circles and could not find the street. Finally we backed up the street illegally.
- J Stanley (10/5): Half the Price of a Hotel - It's a one bedroom apartment. Very clean, well-laid out, kitchen with stove and oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher, dining area, living room, bedroom, huge closet, and bathroom with tub and shower.
Two TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom; pretty basic cable service. Free wi-fi. Secure building. There was even a small balcony.
The neighborhood had a variety of restaurants, Thai (Bann Thai), Ethiopian, Chinese. There's a Whole Foods two and a half blocks away.
