Guest Reviews
- Montana (2/5): - The owners act like it’s a jail house, you get threatened to get kicked out just for walking to your car. If you work and miss room service they will not give you anything until the next day. I had to buy my own toilet paper bc I was at work when the housekeeper came around.. they got Roaches and it stinks!
- Tammy (10/5): - The AC worked hgreat, .my room was clean and the staff was friendly.
- Gretchen (4/5): - It was convenient right off the highway with a gas station and mini mart right in front. However, the sheets were stained and the floor felt greasy. Did not feel clean. The mini fridge had ice in it , not ice to use for drinks but rather as if it needed defrosting. I didn't want to put anything in it . The outlet for the hairdryer had brown/black outside where the plug goes as of it had been too hot. Seemed like a fire hazard to me. Lastly, when I looked outside at night, there were a few random men, not together, sitting on the curb or against a pole. Unusual behavior and felt unsafe. The ratings were 6.8 when I chose it so I figured at least middle of the road and basic , clean and safe.
That's not what my experience was.
- Gregory (8/5): - It was comfortable, that's all you can ask for when traveling 11 hours in one day.
- Joseph (6/5): - No ice machine. If we had know, we would hsve put more in our ice chest.
- Antonyo (10/5): - Good
- Kevin (10/5): - The room was recently renovated and was very nice. Planning on staying there on my return trip.
- Chris (4/5): - This place is very rundown. and in very poor condition. I would never stay there again.
- hayley (8/5): - The room was undated nicely. Our receptionist asked if we meant to reserve a handicapped room, we said no and she changed the room to a regular one for us without us needing to ask.
- Cynthia (10/5): Great place to stay while traveling - No frills but clean. The price was perfect, and we will be back
- Dan (2/5): Never again - Never again. Neighbors had lots of kids running outside and adults having a pot party until 4am. First room had leak in bathroom ceiling and floor was completely wet unknown to front desk so they moved me to unit next door with disrespectful neighbors.
- Sherry (4/5): - A bit cheaper than others. Very shabby & rundown.
- Kathy (4/5): Not good - Got in room most of the lights didn't work, no hot water. Beds were like boards
- Lynn (2/5): - Upon pulling up to the building it was clear it didn’t look like it did in the pictures on Expedia. It was run down &garbage on walkways.
The lobby had a terrible odour & I immediately knew I made a mistake booking there.
The stairs to second floor were crumbling, cracked & uneven making them dangerous. The room had a terrible odour. The door didn’t close at the bottom & looked like it had been kicked in at some point. The floor was so dirty we saw our footprints on it. The bedding had stains all over it.
There were a number of people hanging around that didn’t provide a feeling of safety.
The woman at the front desk was lovely & very understanding. She apologized profusely saying it shouldn’t be dirty like that, but she’s not the cleaner. She told us to call Expedia & they’d call her & she’d cancel the rooms so we would be reimbursed.
I’m having difficulty getting through to Expedia but hope they do us right & refund us as we had to pay for another room. Ratings were 7.6 & positive! Not accurate!!!
- Richard (10/5): - The owners are great and helpful, the property has been cleaned up very nice, an ice machine would have been wonderful, but you can get ripped off at the gas station right in front for a $5. bag of frozen water..Dale at the front desk was great!
- francis (2/5): - Place was filthy. Dirt and leaves on floor. Shower stall, and bathroom floor full of dead bugs. Shower floor looked like it had not been cleaned in months. No heat in room.
- attila (10/5): - Excellent experience. Not like the previous one I was in.
- Jessica (8/5): - I like the people like the staff
- christopher (8/5): - Great location, i know the driveway in could use a bit of a repair, but overall great staff, great rooms, we did lose power for almost 2 hours last night, was restored. 10/10 would recommend to anyone traveling in the area.
- Lorenzo (10/5): Great stay - It was a great stay.
- Ebony (10/5): - I didn’t like the fact the tv kept acting up
- Tasha (10/5): Peace of mind - It’s peace and quiet and I have no complaints
- Antonyo (10/5): - This place is awesome
- Erica (2/5): - Let’s start with the fact that t
- Antonyo (10/5): - Awesome place
- Ajsha (6/5): - AC too noisy in room 225. Could barely get any sleep. Water takes a while to get hot in the shower. No daily housekeeping to change out towels or empty trash!
- Redella (2/5): - Did not like nothing
- Dianne (10/5): Rodeway - Clean room, bed was a little hard for me so I woke up with a back ache. Would stay again.
- Antoine (10/5): - Staff at the front desk totally are awesome.
- candie (10/5): - Everything
- Margaret (2/5): Nasty - The room had bugs in it dead ones and live ones had no hair dryer no coffee pot.the bed spread had holes in it.whatesle can I say overall its was a disgrace this is the worst place I have ever stay at.
- Denis (6/5): - Nothing bad, but do not expect something gorgeous.
It cost its cheap price definitely!
- Crystal (10/5): - Everything was great except for the kids and man yelling and screaming and slamming doors at 11:00pm while we were trying to sleep
- Tiffany (10/5): - Good property and clean rooms
- Toni (6/5): - Typical off the highway hotel
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ridiculous - Where to start- two non functional lights upon entering (one had broken bulb), foul smell, smoke detector not connected to wall and completely covered with a plastic bag, a/c makes noises, fruit sticker on wall, floors are disgustingly dirty (food wrappers, large black stains, dusty), phone is broken (no one could hear me talk), crumbs in fridge door, empty tissue box. Owner changed out the bulb so he knew the room condition. It's as if they attempted repairs, but didn't clean up after.
- Natalya (8/5): - The outside of the property looks a bit shady, it's not in the safest area of SC. The inside, however, is nice. It's clean and updated. The lady at the front desk was super sweet. We just needed a bed on our trip. For that price it was perfect.
- Stanquanna (10/5): - Love it always clean, great service,
- Brian (6/5): - Descent accommodation. Room needs some maintenance update but felt clean enough for an overnight stay. Good value
- Toni (6/5): - Not so good
- John (6/5): Good value IF you don't need wifi... - Check-in was easy, room was clean and comfortable enough. Overall very good, except... Wifi was so slow as to be unusable. I don't expect to be able to stream 4k video; but when it takes 5 minutes to load email, saying you offer wifi is basically a lie.
- Elio (6/5): - Literally knocked on my door talking bout room service at 9am
- Natalia (8/5): - Easy and comfortable place for a night stay on my road trip. Although there was noise all night, and people walking around and talking loud day and night, and not the people that you want to engage with either!
- Phyllis (8/5): - The staff was exceptionally friendly. The amenities were as expected for a low budget motel. There were many dining choices in the surrounding area. Easy on/off highway. Would stay again.
- Rena (8/5): - Green stuff on the ceiling. Other than that we're good
- Penny (10/5): - Room was clean and staff was friendly
- William (10/5): - easy to get to and good service
- Kevin (8/5): - The road coming into the property could use some work, but the hotel owners do not have much control over this problem.
- Sandra (8/5): - Overall it was nice and the staff was friendly and courteous.
Another inside lock would be good for safety reasons and also batteries in smoke detectors.
- Philippe (10/5): - Practical set
- Thomas (10/5): 5 star hotel - The best hotel I have stay !!! Very clean and nitt … may my stay very comfortable
- Denise (4/5): - Property seemed okay. Looked clean but shortly after entering the room I saw something skittering across the floor. I stepped on it. It was a bedbug.
- Paul (10/5): - Outside needs improvement. However pool area looks very nice
- William (2/5): - Towel rack in bathroom falling down. Random drawers and lamps stored in room. Dried toothpaste on sink. Floor needs sweeping.Cigarette holes in bedspread. No nightstand.
- Laurie (2/5): - This place was a hot mess I did not even bother to check in nor that I could have the line was out the door!
- Stanley (6/5): - Had someone come into room at 4 am in the morning unexpected.
- Stanley (6/5): - hard to find location
heat was not e venly distributed
very kind and attentive staff
very close to car from room
- Verified traveler (2/5): Looks ok from the outside - Terrible. Lots of questionable activity in the parking lot and rooms. Very loud yelling and speeding vehicles in the parking lot.
- David (6/5): It's just Ok - It was ok. Very convenient off the interstate. Property is old and needs maintenance, but it was clean. My shower curtain bar was jury rigged to stay up!
- Melissa (10/5): - Accommodating
- James (2/5): - The hotel was run down and had very poor lighting outside which made us feel unsafe. The keys didn't work after a few swipes. The A/C was horrible and didn't blow cold. The tub in the bathroom had a major stain on the bottom and we didn't even shower. The pool was advertised on the website but when we got there to go swim there was no water in it. In the morning there was no coffee. Stay away!
- Donald (6/5): 205 sound like a diesel truck - The room smelled musty. The air conditioner sounded like a diesel truck. There were no bath towels.
- Valeria (2/5): - This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I had three different rooms and I don’t know which one was worst. The rooms looked like they haven’t been clean in weeks, they smell horrible, half of the things didn’t work. I asked for non smoking rooms and EVERYTHING in the rooms smelled like cigarettes. The bathrooms where disgusting, in one of the rooms the toilet had poop everywhere. I seriously don’t know how is this place still in business. This shouldn’t be allow.
- William (8/5): - Okay got in okay except for the noisemakers up ⬆️ stairs
- Joy (6/5): - Property is clean and room was clean . It need to be up dated
- Edisheri (2/5): - Terrible.
VERY DIRTY
No towels no toilet paper
- Karen (8/5): - Clean nice staff breakfast OK. Great for traveling stop.
- robert (6/5): - Need to updated rooms and watch the drug activities that go on in and around the hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Extremely nasty ! The floor looked like it hadn’t been swept in weeks.
- Karen (8/5): - For the price we were very pleased with this hotel stay. My only complaint was the bed was very firm and I’m used to a gel top mattress so I was a little uncomfortable my husband was fine. We were room room 110 which had been rem. odeled within the last couple of years so it had a hard surface floor which was not real clean but OK. Service staff was friendly
- Daniel (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was kind and friendly and they are dog friendly as well nice area around Waterboro
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff. I got there very late and I was alone so she put me right close to the office.
- Verified traveler (2/5): THE WORST. - The room, parking lot, and walkways were filthy. The smell of pot was wafting through the air everywhere. The room, although labeled as 'non-smoking' had the stench of many nights of smoking in it. I had to park in the adjacent lot to the office because i was in a large moving truck pulling a car carrier trailer and only two of the 7 or 8 parking lot lights were working. This was the eorst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm shocked that a company like Choice Hotels won't spend some of their millions in profits on cleaning up these dumps. Disgusting all around. Never again, Choice!
- Chasity (2/5): - Hotel room was not clean and absolutely disgusting!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - .
- Porfirio (2/5): Nasty hotel - Nasty hotel drug activities and drug addicts. All
Around hotel and parking lot. Owner is rude and is aware of drug activities. Worst hotel ever I travel a lot and was terrified and scared to sleep, shower in that nasty hotel. Sheets had blood and rugs filthy dirty.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Poorly maintained and bathroom very dirty ceiling peeling and room smelled
- Brian (10/5): - To be honest for the money it’s a 4 start hotel. Very clean room, no roaches or bugs, plenty of towels, nice tv and lots of channels to choose from, friendly helpful staff, easy location near restaurants and the interstate. Me floors and carpet and firm beds and clean sheets
- Lourdes (2/5): - This property is ready to closed, this place can’t be call hotel, it was horrible very durty and old, the roofing of the bathroom is falling Down, missing carpet, wasn’t clean at all, the lobby roof was dripping water all over, the ac took forever to cool the bedroom, please consider guest and offer a better place to sleep, I am from Miami and our truck business make us to travel from one state to another to pick up the trucks, we don’t use expensive hotel we usually rent 2 or 3 rooms, ever in my life I see this kind of hotel before
This definitely is the worst place
- Verified traveler (2/5): - this property was the most dumpiest place I've ever stayed in between the smell and look I should get my money back
- louise (2/5): - The room was dirty and the furniture was sticky in some places. The toilet was filthy, never cleaned in months from the look of it. my room was changed. Toilet somewhat cleaner but the water kept draining and the tank kept filling. Hard to make it stop. It needs to be fixed or replaced. The room was a bit cleaner but the furniture ie TV backs of chairs. The chairs were filthy with spilled drinks probably coffee. I complained to the front desk and was told, "it isn't my job to do cleaning." I won't be back. Rooms 120 and 121.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is not the best I'll give it 93%. For what i paid for it they should've got a 100% overall, but these newbe ( people that move here in the last 9 years) are the dirtiest people that they are. They through are trash on the sidewalk, grass, driveway or anywhere else they can find. And yet the hotel furnish two trash can in the room and two big trash can at the walkway. These people didn't even know how to use these things. But the staff tried to keep up the cleaning do the best of their abilities, I think that was a good job. I'm saying this for any new guest's to know it's a great place to stay is this the people that used Motel are just dirty people. I enjoy the wifi working with a better signal that my home has. I thank the staff for a great stay to get away from the hurricane thank you very much. Mister Chris Lawings, Charleston South Carolina
- Chas (6/5): Not impressed - This place is for those who just want a quick place to grab some rest before moving on. Make sure you are returned your security deposit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and room was ready for us.
Beds small and missing toiletries items
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No smell in rooms -good.
Broken outlet. Convenient location near I-95.
- Mary (8/5): Nice, low priced motel - For the price it wasn't bad. Stayed mid-week so not sure how it is on the weekends but we felt safe and slept well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's conveniently located right off I-95, therefore easy to get back on the interstate. It is located behind a gas station and across the street from McDonald's. However, at night the place looks a little sketchy. Their breakfast spread was very plain and basic, so don't expect a great spread or buffet. The room had this funky musty smell to it. Did not have that 'clean' one feels when walking into a fresh clean room. Part of the carpet's trimming by the wall closest to the bathroom was pulled off. The parts of the shower wall had some black mold/mildew. If looking for a place to call it a night after driving for so long, then this location does the job. I wouldn't stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Decent place to crash for a night for little money
- Jayne (6/5): Adequate - Hotel was adequate, not spotless, but clean enough, some wear in rooms, breakfast very limited. Price was excellent, good if you are looking to sleep and shower.
- Andrew (6/5): Just ok! - Our stay at Rodeway Inn was just OK. The only reasons we decided to stay was the room did not smell bad and the bed seemed like it would be comfortable. Some maintenance needed on the toilet which tetered , should be anchored down tightly. We did not have an in room coffee pot, we were told coffee available at front desk but did not unlock the door until 6am.
- Verified traveler (2/5): awful do not stay here - we had requested a non smoking room, the room we were given had the non smoking sign on it but it smelled like it has been smoked in for years. The place was not clean, the staff was not friendly, the wifi was unusable, the beds were very uncomfortable and there were holes in the bathroom wall. it was disgusting we will never stay at this place ever again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had to change rooms because no tv or wfi and unclean but new room was good.
- Alan (6/5): OK for overnight stop - Clean, comfortable rooms that need some updating. Nice continental breakfast. Reception staff friendly & helpful.
- Howard (4/5): didnt feel safe - they to me were rude and had drug deals foing on in the hotel with coming and going all times of day and night. we did not feel safe there at all.
- Trish (2/5): Nothing nice to say - This hotel should not be included on any booking site. It was awful!!! The staff was rude. They sat on the sidewalk, looking at there phones and had their guests walk around them. Breakfast looked unsafe to eat and we didn’t !!! Noisy location. Smoke detector missing with wires hanging down. Bugs, Beds were uncomfortable. Room was musty smelling. Check out clerk was rude and had us feeling that we were bothering her. Will never stay with this hotel chain again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - All in all ok. Dose need work up grade what more need be said. Need s up graded doses not look at all like picture s
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, and a perfectly decent hotel if you are on the road and passing through. The breakfast was pretty complete as well. Good value for the price.
- Joseph (2/5): - AC leaks mold in bathroom air vent had huge spiders then kiled one with babys and coukd nit gey a room change
- roni (6/5): Only if u have no other choice... - Was mediocre. Mediocre condition, service, cleanliness...
- ann (8/5): Cheap stayover - Good overnight decent room. Lobby needs work breakfast was sad. Cereal donuts and coffee but price was cheap.
