- Michael (6/5): - As soon as the doors open all you smell is a very strong overpowering smell of garlic. Definitely a turnoff. The hotel was not as clean as it has been the past 2 times staying there. Will not stay there again.

- Herman (10/5): - I wasn't very happy with their breakfast , the eggs did not taste like real eggs, the potatoes were cold, the French toast was tasteless and the juice containers were empty and was not worth the $12.00.

- Barbara (10/5): - The outside areas were very clean and well maintained. My husband and I spent almost every night out there relaxing. It is so nice to enjoy an evening in a beautiful area. The rooms are absolutely immaculate and the bed was comfortable. Every one of the staff members were welcoming. Airynn was great and happy to help with any questions or needs we had. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We are looking forward to staying there again, we have family in the area.

At the end of the trip I needed a last minute late check out due to a family emergency and Tanya handled that over the phone with no questions and gave me ample time to do what was needed. Today in the world of so many who truly don’t care about others and are just cold shouldered, NOT HERE NOT THEM!! And I am so very GRATEFUL!

- Wallace (6/5): - The property location is excellent. The property breakfast is poor, the eggs were not done, the juice was watered way down, and the sausage was not done. The lobby bar closed at 9:30 pm even though it was listed at 10:00. I recommend the lobby bar close at 11:00pm. The fire alarm sounded at around 7am two days in a row and we had to evacuate naturally. I visit the area regularly will not stay at this hotel again.

We certainly didn't receive the warm American welcome that we were expecting, it was almost like we were an inconvenience ! Our room smelt of dog, so be aware if you are planning on staying here, to ask for a pet free room. We did everything we could to try and get rid of the smell but not very successfully ! We were advised about breakfast times at check in but were not advised that there was a fee for breakfast. We decided to have breakfast elsewhere as it was not very inviting at the hotel. I think the only redeeming feature was that it had aa good self service laundry ! I certainly wouldn't stay here again and would recommend choosing elsewhere if you're looking to stay in Jacksonville !

- Verified traveler (8/5): Would stay here again. - Great place to stay. Although we did not eat at the restaurant, it was busy everyday so the food must be good. The only issue was the guy that was working when we checked in. He seemed very preoccupied although it was later in the evening when we checked in and were the only people in the lobby. The pool is not very big so dont get your hopes up if you're planning on getting in your laps.

Only somewhat issue I could complain about would be the luggage carts, they were small and not the easiest to maneuver. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay again in the future.

The breakfast selection was very limited. We were followed around by one man and stared at by another one like we were going to steal something. We only went once for that reason. The pool closed at 9 so we were unable to get to it at all. Room door is very heavy. Almost knocked me over a couple times. Bathroom door also heavy and wouldn't stay open. Had to pay to use washer/dryer. Mini fridge covered in a sheet of ice.

- ClearBlue85 (8/5): Nice stay! - Pros: Clean rooms (particularly liked the updated bathrooms) and public spaces, ample parking, nice ambience with the fire pit out front, safe area with plenty of food and shopping options nearby, pleasant staff. Cons: The front desk staff needed more training because it took a call to a manger to get us checked in after a very long travel day and smells from the lobby restaurant linger into the public spaces.

- Sharri (4/5): Left Saturday evening instead of staying the full trip and when I checked out they said I couldn’t get any money back be - Friendly staff, convenient area for food and location. The bed was so uncomfortable, and the pillows were so flat. Didn’t have any extra pillows or blankets in the room. The air conditioner was so loud and every time it would shut off it had a loud clicking noise. Then it would get hot in the room. Did not have a good night sleep from mattress too hard pillow flat and the air conditioner noise. Had traveled to Jacksonville for My uncles funeral.

- 908JamieT (4/5): How you handle major problems says a lot - I wanted to like this place. PROS: -very friendly and helpful check-in -rooms very quiet and comfortable CONS: -breakfast not free for gold/diamond (cost $2.79) -no hot water the entire stay When I checked in they told me they were having problems with the hot water, but to run it for 25 min and it would be fine. I NEVER had hot water in the 4 days I was there. Even after losing sleep to get up 30 min early to run the water, it never got warmer than the "cool" setting on my washing machine. Maybe being on the top floor contributed (I have no idea). The 3rd day they gave more details: it was still being investigated and they were trying to run all the water through the building. Strange. They should have hired outside help on day 1 no matter the cost to fix the problem. The manager was not there when I checked out. I had asked 2 different people to have the manager call me. They never did until I called several days later. They put me on hold and then told me they took 1/2 off the cost of each night. But they didn't ask me first. My work paid for the trip and a partial refund would mess up my travel voucher, cause me more work and not actually help me at all. So I asked for points. They gave me 5,000, enough for about 10% of ONE night. I replied to corporate's email asking how the settlement by the local hotel was. I replied that it was disappointing. So corporate gave me 20,000 more points, about 50% of ONE night. Sad that the local hotel management could't make things right. I gave up. I guess in the end a few points from corporate is better than nothing at all.

Staff suggested letting water run for 15 to 20 minutes and see if the water warms..it dis not. No compensation was suggested or given for this major inconvenience. I would not, I repeat, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

- CHRISTOPHER (4/5): No hot water no response from management - Upon arrival and after checking in we were told that we likely would not have any hot water. The hotel had a mechanical issue and lost the ability to get hot water. They knew of this two days prior to arrival and made zero effort to notify me before checking in; when asked if the cost of the room would be adjusted during check out we were told to give our room number and phone number as the manager was not on duty. An email was also sent to the manager and we have received zero response from the Jacksonville Nc Hilton Garden Inn. Unlike their competitor Holiday Inn who had a pipe burst and a property in Raleigh Nc who emailed and called us to tell us that we were being moved to another property and the room compt for the inconvenience.
